store glen carbon, illinois store #9514 I believe
This store is a mess the employees are trying to work cashier and put up stock on shelves I have seen an employee ask for help from manager and her tell the person no you do it and see merchandise hit the employee if two had been doing it this wouldn't have happened but instead she continued talking to someone. The aisle have merchandise stack up in them . You see the same employees all the time I have wondered if they have had time to sleep . I have been coming to the store for awhile but I am ready to drive further to Walmart . I heard the manager discussing the rent hasn't been paid so the store might close down anyway. By the way this store is run maybe it should. I have thought of calling OSHA because I feel the employees are going to hurt themselves. But they continue to smile and try to work the best I can. Also tell the manager to quit talking about her staff where customers can hear I am so disgusted with the way its run I think I will stop going after airing all this and will neighbor's to do the sam.
manager (ann) page az
The minute I walked into the store, and for the first time ever of all my days in the store, I was told I need to take off my bag and leave it at the door. I told Ann that I want my bag to be secured in a locker or other box so that my bag is not readily available for thieves to run off with it...the lady rudely said "NO" and told me if i don't like it then I can leave. I told her I don't like it as I'm laying my bag down by the open doors. She instantly says, " get your bag and get out of here now! As I started to leave I asked her for her name so i could file a complaint. I've never felt so accused as I did with my experience in this store. They made me feel like I could be a thief so I needed to leave my bag at the door. This is slanderous and embarrassing.
food stamp card
I was at the dollar general in today and stood and watched a kid no older than 12yrs old had a cart full of junk food... Chip cakes cookies... The bill can to be 49 dollars and some change... The cashier allowed him to use the food stamp card to pay for it all and he left... I walk outside and saw the young parents jump out of the car and help him unload the cart... So no they were not handicapped in any way shape or form... My question is why are the cashiers allowing him to use that card to begin with if his name is not on the card and why is the government allowing this to still happen... When hard working people like my self struggle to eat good meals.
You got too much time on your hands to be thinking about other people's "problems" and how you feel like they need to be solved. Take some of that energy down to the soup kitchen or something.
How a person chooses to spend their food stamps is their business and the food is being paid for so it isn't like a 12 yr old is stealing stuff. Any store isn't going to deny sales on purpose.
store manager bad service
Been going to this store for years but this morning was very unsatisfactory!
This so called manager has so real mental issues for real!
I have noticed since she has token over this store all of the employees are very unhappy..Me as a customer I am feeling the same way!
Dollar General company needs an upgrade at this store badly!
Her job should be demoted to sweeping up the trash in the parking lot!It looks like a tornado comes thru there every day!
You must have said something derogatory to her for her to act that way. Why don't you tell everybody was you said and what her response was?
I asked her when she got off work and if she wanted to give me her phone number and she got rude and said she was married. I told her that if I am still interested if her husband ever leaves town and she got even more rude. I asked her if she has implants because her hooters were huge and she called me a creep and threatened to call the police. If she does not want men picking her up she should not dress like a hooker.
2 4 oz bags of walnuts
7-22-18, store # 11739 in waynesville ga
Was using food stamps to make this purchase, we had to pay cash for the walnuts. It is a food product and every where takes stamps for this. Why doesn't this store? I would like a refund or coupon to cover the 6 dollars I had to spend. Unless there is a reason not to let this food product be paid for with stamps.
This is the most embarrassing, entitled thing I've ever read. If it meant that much to you, then why didn't you just ask the cashier to void the items off? Also, you should be spending food stamps on real food, not garbage. If you want garbage, then get a job so that you can afford to spend $6 without getting bent out of shape.
Look it technically wasn't my food stamps but I paid for them for a young lady I know, She does work full time of course min wage while going to collage. She has 1 child so she does get stamps, and for your info she adds these to her child's yogurt. And why should this be embarrassing, there are plenty of people getting stamps. And no one is bent out of shape but you, this question was in general to see if these rednecks are doing something illegal, and yes she's white so you don't have to go no where with that
I want to file a complaint on a key holder that works at store number 13932. her name is monica lawson.
When I worked at this store Monica always had a problem with me. She would talk down to me and she always had an attitude with me. She is a big reason why I transferred to a new store. I went in the Bostic store one day last week to offer my help and Monica was rude to me then as well. I took my kids in today to get them some ice cream because it was on sale and Monica was snotty with me when the ice cream did not ring up right. I will not use this store again because of the way I am treated.
pricing
Items don't always ring up the price showing on the shelf. I look at the #s on the barcode on the shelf to be sure, because store is always a mess and things aren't necessarily in the right spot. Today I watched each item & told the clerk of two things that rang up wrong. One was on sale, one was not. I was told if a sale starts the day before, the sale price wouldn't be in the system until the next day. What? No customer service skills at all. She was very rude as well as the manager.
management
I have been employed by the new Dollar General Store in McLouth, Kansas since the setting up of the store and was hired on full time after the store opening.
As I have not worked in retail since 1999, I had a lot of questions about the register and procedures for inputting information into the register, etc.
I was working on July 16th and went looking for the store manager Jacob to show me how to do something on the register and found him in the back room sitting across from his fiancé Heather, with her feet in his lap rubbing them. I then told Jacob what I needed and he got up and came up front to help me. As he started to walk away, I said to him "sorry to interrupt back there" to which he did not reply. I was then back in the store room later to get the mop to mop the bathrooms, and saw in the NW corner of the storeroom that Jacob had built a cubby with peg board and two chairs to conceal what he and his fiancé were doing back there, which was removed by the Asst. Manager later when she was cleaning the store room which was unknown to her at that time why it had been put there.
I was then working a few nights later and was working with Asst. Manager Taylor and another associate Michelle and we were talking about the schedule and the amount of hours Taylor would be working when Jacob wasn't there, and Michelle stated "he doesn't want to work anyway". I then said to Michelle that "at least he wouldn't be in the store room rubbing his finances feet. When Asst. Manager Taylor heard what I said, she ask me what I was talking about, and I then told her the story about about finding Jacob and his fiancé in the back room and told her about the "cubby" I had found that he had built. Taylor said she wanted to check out the survelliance cameras from the store room that day and when she went in to check the footage on the computer she found with Michelle and I both standing there, that the whole day of July 16th, had been deleted from the system by the Manager Jacob, so no one would know what had went on. This is the kind of manager you have managing this store, very unprofessional with his long hair and tattoos and his management of the store, covering up his unprofessional behavior. By the time you read this I will no longer be employed by Dollar General as I was unable to work on Friday evening as I was sick from food poisoning and Jacob told the Asst. Manager Taylor to cut my hours, to 12 hours a week which he has done because he most likely had to close Friday night since I was not there and it made him mad. He is very immature for his age, to get mad because he had to uphold his position as manager and work there on a night when no one could be there, and he has done this so I will quit because he knows I know that finding him in the position with his fiancé that I did could have been terms for his dismissal and now knowing that he erased the footage on the security camera, is even more so grounds for his dismissal as that was illegal for him to do so and I do not care to work for someone who is so unprofessional and dishonest. Asst. Manager Taylor is a lot more experienced in her job and would make a much better manger for the McLouth store. Also the merchandiser that was at the store during the setting up whos name I can"t recall at this time, was also very rude to all the employees who ask him for help and I over heard him tell Asst. Manager Taylor, that she was the only one he cared to talk to, because she was the only one who could follow directions and he would talk to her about Jacob not being there when he was gone so much during the setting up. He said he was from Nixa, Mo. and that he goes around to all the new stores to help set up. He started acting like he was our boss when Jacob was not around. In my opinion both Jacob and this set up employee both need to be removed from their positions.
worker
Some people just should not work with people, is it not your policy for customer service? The clarkton dg has a employee that is rude foul mouth should not work with public her name tag said amber this is not the first time every time I'm in there she is hateful and rude and always on her phone. I think something should be done with her . I have complained to management several time but yet it still continues to be going on. The sad part is I live in this town and would rather drive 12 miles to malden then have to deal with her rudeness. If you ask her a question she rolls her eyes and huffs.
smart food
The store location is 701 West White St. Anna, TX 75409. The male associate definitely represented Dollar General in a bad light today, even unethical. Not only did he complain about being asked to help up front with the long line, but then purposefully posted wrong prices on the snack aisle where we bought our items. When I pointed out the incorrect price ringing up both associates said that he put those sale signs up showing the products are "buy 2 for $5.00" a day early but they won't honor it till tomorrow. I told him if you marked them that price then its only ethical to sell them at the price you advertised. He said he won't honor the price he posted. I have shopped at Dollar General for many years & never have I had such an inappropriate & unethical response. This should be addressed immediately before this deliberate false advertising & unprofessional lack of customer service has further consequences for the reputation of the entire company. There is a lot of competition for Dollar General these days, and allowing any store to carry on such conduct will have only damaging consequences for this location and store name in general. I will definitely be telling my family and friends not to shop at this admittedly dishonest store. False advertising is a criminal offense in most states for this very act.
And posting slander on a public website is a criminal offense as well.
we do not have a store in wall, sd 57790
The city fathers had rejected the sale of property to you that was close to the city grocery store and hardware store. There is new property within the city limits just south of the interstate 90. It has been ag land but now has a for sale sign in two places on close to the high way. It is presently growing hay but I would guess it will be bought for housing or business.
general manager
We have shopped at the Lodi, Wisconsin Dollar General since it opened. We will never shop there again. On July 21, 2018, we stopped there after work 9:20 pm, and got what we needed, we were talking to the cashier who we have known for years. As we were leaving, the General Manager was walking in, and asked if we won so much money "why are you driving something like that?" Referring to our 2009 van. We have never been so offended in our life. We live in a very small town, and we will tell everyone about that experience. This is not the first time he has offended us with one of his off the cuff comments.
1st amendment gives the GM the right to free speech. Get over it!
rude obnoxious employee
Katina Hovis at dollar general store #15419 this employee is the rudest person I have ever seen in my life I have seen her shop on the clock. I have also seen her open food and eat it without paying for it. The store has been more than 30 minutes late opening several times while her and the manager where inside. She also has taken customers items and placed them in her car that they have dropped just outside the door. I don't understand why other employees are being wrote up for smaller stuff than this but she gets away with everything

employee at elkhorn city, ky 41522 store
The assistant manager Felicia Stanley is carrying on with a man while at work. My grandchildren saw her hugging and kissing a man in the toy aisle during our last visit to the Dollar Store. This isn't the first time myself or my family members have seen this type of unprofessional behavior from this woman. She sits out in front of the store with this man's arms rubbing her legs and she sits in his vehicle with him while she's at work. The manager Darlene Mullins is aware of the sexual actions and sometimes sits with them as they cuddle. Because they are good friends she refuses to interfere with their sex play while Felicia Stanley is at work. The man has a girlfriend that has followed him and Darlene asks her to leave the store and leave them to their love affair. She also kisses him while at her register leaning across the counter to do it. Both of these women need training in professional behavior at work.
employee
At the Dollar General Store in Elkhorn City, Ky 41522 an employee named Felicia Grier Stanley has been seen kissing and cuddling with a man while at work. She has been seen by numerous customers for several months now. This situation has been brought to the attention of the store manager Darlyn Mullins. She refuses to correct the sexual behavior of the employee because they are good friends. The employee has also been seen in the parking lot in the vehicle with this man. He is 30 + years older than her and if she's trying to find someone to pay her bills she should do it on her time not at work. She must not care if she works or not or she wouldn't encourage him to love and kiss her at work.
falsely accused of theft by couch potato manager waycross ga
My boyfriend and I visited the Dollar General Store on 1902 S GA Pkwy Waycross GA 31503 Store # 4856 . We were just there for a very short list of items such as soap, toothbrush, shampoo, hair bands, coloring pencils, and a box of children's band aids. Immediately when we walked in my boyfriend noticed one of the male employees oddly staring him down and did so for about 10 mins while we shopped until he finally approached my boyfriend and straight asked him if he was a guy who had previously visited the store the day before and did he steal some sunglasses. The employee claimed his manager had called the store and told him and his other Co worker on duty that my boyfriend was this guy from the previous day who had stolen said glasses. We were appalled due to the fact we had not visited the store the day before and had just got back into town from hauling a load to Memphis TN (my boyfriend is a semi truck driver & makes good money). I addressed both of these male employees when we reached the front to check out . We asked for the manager who were told was not on duty at the store, that she was at home watching cameras from the store . One of the male employees kept looking at my boyfriend then at his phone repeatedly and claimed he was watching the tape from the previous day on his phone or he was attempting to and then said again that he agreed with his manager that my boyfriend was the thief they were looking for. So we just walked out without purchasing our selected items because at this point anyone present in the store was over hearing our frustrations and these employees false accusations and we left the store and went and purchased our items next door at the more than pleasant Family Dollar .
My boyfriend was not anywhere near or in this Dollar general the previous day . As far as sunglasses I have a receipt for a pair that Dollar General does not even carry in their store and that he rightfully purchased at a gas station days before hours away. I was so offended from the employees and the missing in action manager that accused him of being a thief that the employees didn't seem to be in no rush to call after we requested to speak with her . We are planning on returning to this store tomorrow to demand to speak with this so sure of herself manager and request this video that is claimed to be her reason for her accusations . It was rude, embarrassing, and sorry but not sorry, but the entire ordeal pissed me off . Will update on how our return visit to see this mystery and obviously blind manager. Considering Dollar Generals are my favorite of all stores and I usually don't frequent any other stores . It honestly is disheartening to me to say the least.
limited quantities of sale items
My local GD store had a 3 day sale on Mt Dew and Pepsi. I went in on the 2nd day of the sale to empty shelves. They said no rain checks. This is my first visit to the Martinsville Ill store since it opened. But I will not be returning to that store and will take my business back to Wal Mart at least they have adequate quantities of items they have on sale. It saddens me to feel this way, as out town needed a store. But if you cant get what you went in to purchase what good is the store?
pepsi
Sign outside says Pepsi 5 for 10 not just bottles or anything else. When I get in store there are signs 5 for 10 on cans and bottles. There were only four 6 packs of Pepsi and no Diet Pepsi bottles. So I bought four 6 packs of Pepsi bottles and two of Diet Pepsi cans. I was charged 4.80 per case of Diet Pepsi and 3.50 for Pepsi. I will never shop in your stores again. Staff wasn't even polite or try to make it right. If I wasn't in a hurry and didn't want to run all the way to Walmart I wouldn't if completed purchase. So I will keep my business with Walmart and not shop at dollar general again. Feeling cheated!
store manager's behavior
I exchanged a 20# propane tank (empty) for a full one and paid the $20 plus tax at the dover, tn store. I didn't use it until today and when I hooked it up to my grill it didn't allow gas to flow. After trying several things I borrowed my neighbors tank to see if it was my grill that was the problem. His tank worked just fine. I took the deflective amerigas full tank to the nearest store here near my house (3 miles) to see if I could exchange it for a working tank. I was asked if I purchased it here and I told them no I purchased in dover, tn as we were coming past that store returning home from my wife's chemo treatment. The dover store is approximately 15 miles form my home. She told me I would have to return it there or I could just pay the amount of a refilled tank and exchange it here. Why would I pay again for a full tank when I have a full tank with a defective valve! They could have picked up the tank and knew it was full compared to a empty tank. Didn't even try to take care of my problem or show any concern. Will think very hard about ever crossing their doors threshold again. A poor response from corporate will affirm my decision in the future as to spending my money in your stores in the future.
