Dollar General review: no breaks 8

I never get breaks where I work. You actually keep up with your breaks?

If I was in your situation I would want all my breaks too.

Some of you are such smart ### ppl you need to get a life or a job maybe and stop trolling...she should get her breaks.

i never get breaks either at the location that i work im lucky if i even get a smoke break during a 5 hour shift but i don't complain, from what i remember reading every 2 hours of work you should get a 15 minute break. at my store i work at i have been there almost 2 months now and and have been told to run a register full of customers, stock shelves, and make sure that there are carts in the store at the SAME time and the managers will yell for me to check out a customer when two of them are standing there shooting the bull or talking with friends while im being rushed. they have also been trying to get me to come in on my time off to work off the clock to do computer based training for the job and telling me that it has to be done on my own time that i am scheduled off. There is also an employee at my store who can not read and is constantly causing problems by stocking things in the wrong place that i have to fix or stocking things still in bulk packages where customers are thinking they are getting a better deal, but yet he is getting 30 hour weeks and i may get 18 hours a week but they are still hiring. the managers spend more time on the phone than they do working, keep the emergency door padlocked and blocked, there is no room to walk in the stockroom. the manager is more focused on following customers around that LOOK suspicious because they look around for a while and wants to call the police because they make them feel uncomfortable when nothing wrong has been done. This is the first job that i have truly hated and am already looking for other income due to the managers behavior.

I just started at dollar general and work thru the lunch hour without a break. Also when I work evenings I get no supper "til I get home at 9:30 PM. They don't understand that a rested employee is more accurate and productive.

You need to document everything date time and issue, their are laws in force. Take care of yourself and your health, cause they won't. Find another job and call the corp office in Goodlettsville, Tenn and then attorney. As you can see nothing will be done about it unless you try make that difference. Stand up

Unions fought this fight 80 yrs ago...everyone hates the unions and now listen to you cry about no breaks and lunch and ooh my

I just started with DG an I was told the same no breaks just Lunch..
