customer service
Went to esso gas Station in Brampton Ontario bought a gift card was told to take a gift card and get it loaded up at the front I took a card to the front got it loaded only to find out its for car wash only and not feul. I told the clerk to void the transaction he said he can't once it loaded he can't change it. Not a good policy I work in retail and if a mistake is made it can be rectified store is located main and bovaird in Brampton. Not a happy customer didn't want to get a gc for car wash but for feul.
staff
While travelling I stopped for gas I Brookfield and I found an employee very rude. Although she didn't assist my she stared at me with a dirty look and there was never a single smile or greeting. I've never had a problem with ESSO customer service over the years until now. I hope that she is spoken to to clean up her act and at least smile at the customers paying hard-earned money for your products that are also available elsewhere. I write this as a longtime supporter of esso who sincerely hopes for disaplinary action as I am not the only one who felt uncomfortable in her unfriendly and unwelcoming presence. She had long brown and and glasses but that's all I can remember. Thank you.
cashiers
I attempted to make a purchase and presented pennies with the rest of money, cashier rejected it and told me Esso doesn't accept pennies essentially rejecting my money. I have visited this location many times and the service is very poor. I questioned the gentleman as to why the wouldn't accept my payment and he said Esso gas station doesn't accept any form of pennies.
service at the cash register/gift card redemption with supervisor malik
Hello, my name is Kyle Brown and just recently had a terrible encounter with the staff and service at your E's gas station location on 1445 Main St W, Hamilton, ON, Canada, L8S 1C8. First off I received a 100 dollar gift card to the E's gas station. One would think "sweet" this will be a very handy gift, but unfortunately no. The gift card would not work with the pump stations, so what is one to do? You go inside and talk to the teller. To my surprise, he was completely incompetent. I told him that I wanted to pay using a gift card, so he goes and swipes it. Again, the card is not recognized. He tries the 10 more time with the same result. Then I finally ask, can you just enter the card number manually? Since I know sometimes gift cards don't always work through the magnet strip. But unfortunately, the teller looks at me with a puzzled face and tells me that it cannot be entered manually and there is no way to do it. I ask him to speak to his superior since this is not, in any way, right. Am I just suppose to accept that someone paid hard earned money just to have the card not work at the machine and then the teller not even try to resolve the problem. Finally, he decides to call his superior and has a brief conversation with him on the phone. He doesn't let me talk and talks very quietly. He also turns away from me so I cannot hear what he is saying to his manager. Then he hangs up and informs me again that the card number cannot be entered manually. I tell him that is not acceptable and I, not him, want to speak with his manager. Finally, After he bypasses me to deal with other customers he calls his manager again. As the phone rings, I use Esau's web page to check the balance on my gift card, the one currently in my hand and then show the teller. The balance is 100 dollars and the card numbers are identical. He doesn't even look or care about what I am showing him. So again terrible customer service. Once the manager answers, he then states that nothing can be entered manually and doesn't have any suggestions that can solve the issue. I ask him what am I suppose to do, your company has already received the money and now I have only received a useless piece of plastic and customer service from a very incompetent person who clearly cannot think of a solution if it was going to save his life. The manager stated he cannot do anything, yet he didn't even try to do anything in the first place. This is just outright rude. His only suggestion was for me to leave empty-handed and email E's and have them send me another card. Oh yes, I have nothing better to do with my time than to email E's and wait forever, if ever, this new gift card will come in the mail. Resulting in most likely having that same problem occur with the same ignorant, single minded employees again. So what did I learned from this experience? Is to never suggest E's to anyone, to never use their gas stations again, and to always recommend to everyone I know that I would rather run out of fuel and then have to push my car to a competitors gas station then use Esau's [censor] service ever again.
It is companies like this that make the world a continuously terrible place. Where they do not care about the loyal customers they have and only care about rolling in their piles of cash laughing. This sickens me to the core that a company can be so useless to a customer.
running out of gas and store closed
I am from small town Drumbo. The last few months the esso gas station here is very unpredictable. One day there is gas and the next the place is closed up (store and gas pumps). Being that this is a small town we all like to support local but the fact that we can't depend on the gas station even being open has turned a lot of the local residents away!
always running out of gas
For the past few months, you can never count on the Esso station in Drumbo, Ontario having gas. Countless times I've driven by and the pumps are closed...except for Supreme or Diesel, they are always running out of Regular. I drove by yesterday, 11/07/17, at 10:00 am and the pumps were open, when I returned at 1:00, they were closed. This happens at least once or twice a week! There was a period of about a month they didn't have any gas at all. I've even driven by in the morning and afternoon during business hours when they should be open and the Closed sign is up and the place is locked up tight. (Gas Station, Country Style Donuts and Pizza Pizza and store) I have had no choice but to buy my gas at the Truck Stop at the 401 because I never know if the Esso is going to be open. Another thing, when they first opened, I would always see an Esso truck delivering the gas, now it's some other Company. It makes me wonder if this is a contractor for Esso or are they buying their gas elsewhere and passing it off as Esso gas?
There is a FB page, Drumbo/Princeton Buy and Sell and there are countless discussions on the page about the gas running out...People are not happy!
touchless car wash
Asked too have a luxury car wash for my truck (1500 Chevrolet Silverado) from the cashier and stated I was using my points card. Was immediately told no when I pulled out points card and told no trucks. I've been using your touch less car wash for years and never had an issue. This was located at Steeles and Woodbine. When being rudely declined from that location went to Elgin Mills and Leslie location where the cashier there said I should make a complaint because there not allowed to do that. So here it is. Not right.
I'm complaining about the person who's behind cash in gas station
I went to esso gas station in corner of Sherbrooke street and decarie street at 01:00 AM in June 23 to fill up my car, I had a coupon for gas but the guy behind the cash refused my coupon so I asked who's your maneger and what's your name? But he told me [censor]!
I want to know who's responsible for this action?
Who can talk to customer like that?
You can check the camera.
I'm waiting for your answer
button that chooses the type of gas that pumps
I drove from Niagara Falls to St Catharines for the fact that the Gas was 5-10¢ cheaper. As I go to pump the gas I press Regular as I always do. 40$ in I look to see where I'm at and I realize the Supreme button had clicked in, now I didn't press it but it chose itself.
Spoke with the teller and he was unable to help me, Manager was unavailable. Not only did I pay 114 for gas instead of 96 but the teller was completely useless
What should I do? What can I do? He couldn't even look at the cameras to tell me if it was my mistake or Essos
Im really upset about this situation and would like it resolved in a sense of clarification
washrooms
Your gas station in neepawa, mb continues to have one of the dirtiest washrooms on our frequent travels! It's very dissapointing as we like stopping here to grab a coffee at tims, but have grown very frustrated! The lady working says they only have one staff member on at a time and are unable to get to clean the washrooms at this busy location! Today only one washroom was in service, lined up and completely dirty with toilet paper on the floor and even plastic drinking cups from inside the store on the change table! Gross! We will have to start stopping somewhere else on our way to the lake each week if this continues!
gift cards
This is about Esso Gift cards I gave for Christmas gifts, which I'm told are not good, so had them back [ very embarrising ] and tried to use myself, a real headache, so thought
i'd try this way, by emailing you...I have 4 crds [ bought more, but not heard from them] and have a Walmart receipt for 2 of them, they are a &50-00 value for &40-00...
Would like my money back, but Walmart say's know on gift cards, and plus it was Christmas time, like I told her I was away for 3 months in Texas...

speed pass points
wanted to purchase a car wash from 444 Kingsway using my points. I was told the system was down and I needed to pay cash. I experienced system down at other locations before and was immediately offered a goodwill wash, so I requested a goodwill wash from Vijay(he indicated he was the manager)- he asked me why he should pay for it ... then I rebutted why I should pay cash when I have points. very disappointing to say the least, he wouldn't provide any information on how to contact him or his report ... I have been a loyal ESSO customer for over TWENTY years accumulating points ever since Speedpass was introduced - never have I been addressed with such ignorance at an ESSO station. I still have 22000 points so I'm not looking for anything . I hope there is recourse for customers when your owner/managers experience a technical glitch that hampers customer efforts to purchase items with points. I left the station without a wash - and frustrated. My email is [protected]@hotmail.com and a registered speedpass user over 20years.
gas pump not working correctly
At 7:30 pm I went to get gas at 184st and Lessard road in Edmonton. I went to pump and pushed reg button, when I stopped I noticed that I was pumping supreme gas instead of regular. This is the second time this has happened to me in the last couple weeks! from different gas stations, Is there a reason that it would jump from reg to supreme? Or does this have something to do with the pay at the pump? I believe that when I pushed the reg button it was changed to supreme and I don't understand why!. I went to pay inside and they do not understand what I am saying, and charge me for the higher gas price anyways. I am very disappointed with the service I am getting from Esso since 7 11 took over! I will not continue getting gas from your stores in the future. I do not have the receipt for the issue a couple weeks ago because they would not give me one and tonight I only put $10.00 in because I was not going to pay more for 17 cents extra!
very rude frightening behaviour of sales associate
http://www.essostations.ca/2224063-rossland-esso-ajax
The incident occurred at around 06:30pm on [protected]@017 at ESSO Gas Station located on Salem & Rossland Intersection opposite to Ajax Fire Station:
While my wife trying to pay the gas bill by swapping hot TD Gold Visa card, the transaction did not go well in the first entry. Your Associate (only one available and serving during that period) grabbed her card all of sudden from across the counter from her hand and used TAP option to complete the transaction and insulted and terrified my wife. She is really upset and moved with this incident.
I contacted from my cell to discuss the incident why he did what he did, his response was whatever happened has already happened and challenged me that we could contact police or anyone else.
I have already send my official feedback to the ESSO station in question with date & time stamp. I demand some sort of discipline on these kind of rude, unfriendly, service sales associate and provide feedback to us the kind of corrective action to coach & discipline this kind of individuals those impact your ESSO's public reputation.
Please provide details on your follow up action from this complaint.
Thanks & Regards,

lack of customer care and complete disorganization
I would like to file a formal complaint over the rudeness and lack of service and complete disorganization of the Esso station located at 408 Ontario St, St-Catherines L2R 5L9.
The incident took place @ 15:26 on Sunday May 21, 2017 (Long weekend here in Canada) . On that very day there are literally torrential rains. This station blocks off the two main entrances on Ontario St. . Please refer to the here Google map link for reference : https://www.google.ca/maps/place/408+Ontario+St, +St.+Catharines, +ON+L2R+5L9/@43.1772099, -79.2666265, 3a, 75y, 102.41h, 90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sjYGdl5zIoFuPY6TlT_mpQQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DjYGdl5zIoFuPY6TlT_mpQQ%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D106.78607%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x89d3510cebf43e29:0x83a2c614c05f306f!8m2!3d43.1771917!4d-79.2663816?hl=en.
The station has 8 gas pumps to serve its customers. The first 2 closest to the main building are blocked off. Upon questioning the are reserved for corporate account customers. These customers do not exist on a long weekend. Therefore really 6 pumps to serve customers. No indication from the station they are trying to direct traffic only in one direction. Most european and japanese vehicles fill on the passenger side of the vehicle. So really there are only 2 pumps to serve customers. The attendants will not release the pump for fill up if your vehicle is not pointing in the proper direction of traffic. This is irregardless of a busy day or not cars but a few in wait of gas. In this situation the heavy downpours of rain.
This problem is there for quite some time as can be witnessed by the signage on each pump. Link for your reference:

To make matters worse the attendants make no exception of weekday or weekend - it could be a busy station during the week - and if you don't like it you can go to another station as we don't want your busineess. As I have been told.
This sort of behaviour is approaching communism and/or Hitler measures. We are in a free country and to be demeaned by three young attendants in their early twentys with such an attitude - If you don't like it take your business elsewhere - is something I did not quite expect in this modern day and age. Much less by representatives of an international company such Esso /Exon Mobil.
Is this the customer care Esso gives out?. I am an Esso card member and an Exon Mobil shareholder and I am disappointed and truly ashamed to say so when I see such lack of common sense or concern for your customers. This non-sense that occurs at 408 Ontario St. - blocking pumps and tried to direct traffic even on weekends - should be stopped by you and the representatives serving the customers replaced with employees that understand customer service as they are the face of your company.
price changes at a certain gas station
My name is Ross Taylor and i live in Orangeville Ontario and my occupation is a Taxi Driver. My father worked for Texaco Ca and the Imperial Oil for 30 plus years, and has been retired for 20 plus years. He always tried to explain how weights & measures worked in the fuel industry which brings me to my reason for this email. For the last year ive been taking pictures with my cell at 11:59 pm and 12:01 am give or take a few minutes of the regular unleaded fuel price at the Esso station at 31 Broadway Blvd in Orangeville Ontario. For example on Saturday May 20 at 11;59 regular unleaded was $104.9 per litre and at 12.01 am two minutes later it was at $114.9 per litre. Having said that i am obviously aware of how industry prices fluxuate at certain times. This particular station does this 365 days a year, every day, its not always 10 cents per litre but its minimum 5 or more. Having asked the retailer im being told that its nothing to Esso and its Macs Milk i should be complaining too. If thats the case and that is legal then things have changed since my Dad retired, or he was wrong or i misunderstood him. If it is morally okay for this one gas station to do this and it is Macs Milk behind this price gouging Imperial Oil should be ashamed of itself because you have to search for the signage that reads Macs and Esso is plasteted all over that location. I am not an individual that complains frequently to vendors, i have approximately 295 pictures of how that location is driving its price up at midnight in the last 13 months because i only take the photos if im working, If you want these images let me know.
customer service
I was pulling into the esso gas station at 32375 huntington rd, in abbotsford, b. C. To fill up with gas.
There was gravel all over the entrance to the gas station on the pavement.
My front tire slid out and the bike went down.
I stood my bike up and moved it up to one of the pumps.
Two of my friends that were riding with me came up aswell.
We were looking over my bike to check out the damage when the owner of the station came out and told me to move my bike as it was blocking room for customers.
I responded that I am a customer wanting to get gas but just went down on my bike in there driveway.
She did not care one bit and kept telling us to move.
This was the worst customer service I have ever had.

Incident: Today I walked my puppy and went to Esso to buy a bottle of milk. My puppy is really small and he is scared being left outside by himself. I went into the store and asked one cashier( one male, around 30-40, brown color skin) if I can keep him a little closer to the store gate so that I can watch him. with no reason, this guy verbally harassed me for keeping my dog away from the station. He also refused to take my order because I am holding a small puppy in my arm by behaving so rude. I waited outside the store for almost 3 mins. Another lady who walked out of the store offered to take care of my puppy. When I paid the money at the counter, he took my order so rudely and never say any word, not even a thank you or goodbye. I was never treated like this in my whole life. Hope the store manager can train your staff properly on how to do customer service. your business will go down by keeping a staff like this.
esso extra card / extra privileges card website
On April 17th I filled up $41 worth of gas at the Esso Gas Station located at 4530 Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga, Ont., and was given an Esso Extra Card / Extra Privileges Card to use for future transactions. As a new car owner, I decided to go with Esso as my gas station of choice for a number of reasons.
My attempts on trying to register my card on the "www.essoextra.com" website have failed due to the website being down. Over the past week my numerous attempts to register my card have failed due to the site's "maintenance in progress" state.
To have a website down for that period of time without resolve is completely ridiculous, particularly for a conglomerate company such as yours. I have given up trying due to the frustration of trying to register my card and will rather use another gas company instead.
Thanks for the headache.
One lost customer
can I use my Esso Extra Card / Extra Privileges Card ( 2.5 cents discount ) along with the optimum card?
The website is still down, this is simply unacceptable. I will have to choose another gas station.
This maintenance issue has gone on for way too long. Clearly Esso doesn't have a clue on how to run a website. I can see a day or even two if there is a major issue, but it has been two weeks now. They don't even bother to put up an information page explaining when it is expected to be fixed.
car wash code used by somebody else
On Jan. 27/2017 I purchased one luxury car wash at Esso station located at
8 Kingston Rd in Ajax, Ontario. The car wash code 44789 was valid until
April 27/2017. I did not need to wash the car immediately, so I put the receipt in the small storage compartment on the drivers side of the car.
On April 24/2017 I decided to wash the car. When I entered the code at the entrance of the car wash the invalid code light came on. I tried several more times with the same outcome.
I went to report the problem to Esso station personnel. Their only reply was that I or somebody I know used the code already. I know this is not the case. Only I drive my car, and occasionally my girlfriend may be in the car with me but she never drives it. In fact she did not even know that the car wash receipt with the code existed.
It is my belief that somebody connected with the Esso gas station used the code, or, small chance, that there was a computer error.
I use this Esso station for gas purchases and occasional car wash, but now I can not trust the personnel in this gas station.
