Frauds its sellers/shops
I contacted Etsy about an abusive review and they did nothing resolve the problem. They removed the review from my view but the removal didn't affect the overall score of my reviews. I wouldn't usually be upset about something like this, but I was already hanging by a thread with Etsy here. My business has been in business for 10+ years (I've only been on Etsy about half that time). I'm sick and tired of them pretending not to be a dying husk of the website they formally were. I'm sick of how they abuse shop owners like Etsy's Amazon or something (You're not, no matter how many times you lie to your investors). I know that Etsy has already been sued by their investors for fraud, and yet they still lie and continue to collect money not only from the shops and sellers they over charge and screw with no customer service to speak of, they screw their investors too. You want to know what website marketplace to NOT invest in this year? Etsy, that's who. They're a joke of a website and on the way out the door. BYE
Desired outcome: I want them to efficiently communicate with business owners and not be shady when it comes to customer support. Etsy has become problematic.
Abusive treatment of sellers
Etsy has an algorithm of some kind that looks for potential violations of policy. They do not confirm violations actually exist. The consequence is that you receive an automated message your listing is in violation of policy and the listing has been deactivated. They do not tell you what the violation is, because they do not actually determine there is one. The automated message also says their decision is final (no appeal) and threatens to close down your shop if you have another violation, even though there wasn't one in the first place. It is impossible to avoid this happening to you, because following policy doesn't matter in these cases. This happened to one of my listings that was dead center in normal practice for Etsy. It was in fact built from a template used to make about 200 other listings. It's kind of like a lightening strike. Destructive and random. It also does not solve the problem of people using Etsy like Amazon, selling stuff they neither made, nor can actually be used to make crafts. Some of their biggest sellers are the biggest violators, so they have no real motive to police their site. This makes Etsy a lot like Facebook, having no intention to police their site because they profit from violations. They do want to look like they police their site so they have an algorithm that pretends to do this.
Desired outcome: Etsy providing proof of violations when they trigger deactivation of a listing and provide an appeal process for when they get it wrong.
Shop was put on vacation mode after updating tax info for 2022
At the beginning of May 2022, I received an email from Etsy saying I would need to update my Etsy shop's legal and tax information or my shop would be shut down when I reached $600 in sales. Since I was getting close to that many sales I decided to update it soon to prevent a forced shut down from happening. I updated my tax info and received two contradictory messages; one said that it hadn't been successful and to try again but that if I tried twice and it didn't go through that my shop would be put on a forced vacation mode. The other message, right under the first one, said that I had successfully updated my info. When I tried to check out my shop I saw it had been put on a forced vacation mode. I have tried to reenter my information. My shop is still on vacation mode. After waiting a couple days I sent an email to Etsy support. A week later I received a canned reply that only reiterated what their article says to do, which is what I have tried at least a dozen times over. No personalized help whatsoever. I tried re-uploading my documents (which have not changed and should have been correct) and was told I would receive an email to let me know that they had been approved or if I would need to provide more info. Three weeks later I still have not heard back from them regarding any of these issues. Etsy no longer has a live chat support nor do they have a customer support phone line. And they don't seem to have humans replying to the emails we send. This is a simple issue to resolve and they refuse to address it! How am I supposed to re-open my shop? I have not broken any rules in the contract and only tried to follow them by updating my tax info as required! I am in the process of building my business and was just starting to get consistent customers; I am now losing them and many sales! I am extremely upset; these are NOT professional, sustainable, or ethical business practices.
Desired outcome: Fix the glitch in their system for updating tax information. Take my shop off forced vacation mode. Provide better customer service by reinstating live chat support as well as a support phone number.

I order a Pennsylvania Land grant from the early 1800. The seller was from Cosby-Rare books in Landsdale Pennsylvania. I paid a total of $168.. for shipping and handle ling. The add stated free shipping or a discount. The add for the Clear-field Land Grant was $150.00 initially be then reduced slightly. I though also even with the slight discount cost of the antique Pennsylvania Land Grant. The free shipping was not applied, The owner of Cosby Rare books , lands dale Pa sent it via Media Mail and it could not be delivered to my house located at 308 Sycamore Rd, Reading Pa., 19611. I went to both Ready US Post office on Saturday May 22, 2022. I was told by the Post Master Assistant supervisor whom the document was shipped back to her . The Post office also had my business email of P.O. Box 67702, Wyo missing, Pa., 19611 The Post master assist gave the sender address as well. Could you Please CONTACT Cosby Rare books AND HAVE HER SEND ME THE DOCUMENT by REGULAR MAIL TO p.o. BOX 6792, Wyo missing, Pa., 19610. Thank you, Colette M. Bressler [protected]

Will Not Release Funds
I have had my account funds held since January 2022. They closed my account and refuse to give me my remaining funds from my sales. They emailed me and told me to reinstate my account, but I can't because they closed it. I can not get an employee to answer my request or have a number to call them. My store name is "MyCreativeBuilding". I read the "terms" and I was placed on a hold as it stated hen you "open" an account, not when it is closed by Etsy. How can I get my money out of this company?
Desired outcome: My money issued to me.
Hey I was wondering have you managed to get your money yet? I have the same issue, I had my store closed in November and still no money.
No. I checked again and nothing. I am glad it’s not a lot. That upfront money they hold that paid for the cost to have a product to sell. I never recommend even buying off them after all the fee hikes because that means all those stores had to raise their costs 30%. Knowing that, you now know you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
Esty payment reserve
After selling our first two items a reserve was placed o. our account. 75% of each sale was being held for 45 days.
Despite providing tracking with proof of delivery we are still waiting for over £400 pounds.
I have sent full tracking to customer services only to receive and email explaining about the reserve. As a business we can on afforded to sell and not get paid for 45 days.
As a result we have removed out listings and no longer sell on esty.
Desired outcome: Reserve being removed and getting our money for the items we have sold.
Misleading advertising.
I ordered a silver Labrador dog figurine from Gemmi.LV on May 2, 2022. The internet presentation included a full-sized picture of the product. No dimensions were provided. The figurine we received was much smaller than I expected on the basis of the overall presentation. Etsy should not allow the sale of figurines on their website that do not include their dimensions.
Desired outcome: Assurance from Etsy and Gemmi.LV that dimensions will be included in Gemmi.LV presentations.
Not delivering a present to my daughter
I ordered 3 mugs under (bob's Burgers) for my daughter they were priced at £14.99 and on Monday 9th May 2022 they put 'proof of delivery on my website citing Tracking number WU619238986GB card had been put through the door
My daughter who had been in all day said that she had no post that day and it apparently on the card mentioned that it had been put in a safe place - for my daughter a safe place would mean at the back of the garden gate, behind or even in the dustbin but there was nothing place
It therefore, leads us to suppose that it was delivered to the wrong address, or if it had the person kept it, or the postie kept it
The address should have been 18Thrumpton Lane, Retford, Notts DN22 6HS and my daughters name is: Miss Francesca Jacobs
Thanks Mrs R Jacobs
Desired outcome: Either to deliver the exact parcel again or please refund
Kennedy’sminis
I made a purchase March 6th. Waited for over 8 weeks per delivery posts. On the day due to ship item, USPS indicated a label had been created but no pacjaged received by USPS. I agreed to wait a couple more days. Then filed a case, received a refund. Kennedy continued to contact me via Etsy. I asked her to stop contacting me. She continued via Etsy, then social media, now e-mail. It’s harassment. Please advise.
Desired outcome: Tell the seller to stop contacting me. Tell her it’s harassment and if it violates her agreement with you, which one(s) it violates. Thank you.
Selling on Etsy
1st Etsy unjustly closed my shop. 2nd they are holding the money I earned for 6 months, even though all orders are shipped. 3rd they refunded 2 customers this week, even though the orders shipping. So now the customer has the product AND got their money back. In the 1st case they refunded, the closed and refunded within 45 mins not giving me a chance to comment it had shipped. The 2nd case they refunded, I fortunately was in my email when I got the notification. I quickly comment on the case, and directly addressed Etsy to not refund since it had shipped. They didn't read my comment and refunded the customer within 26 mins. I just want my money I earned now and not in 6 months since I've already have to come out of pocket due to the reserves they placed on all my orders instead of pay with the money from my business.
Desired outcome: I want Etsy to give me the money I earned from MY business now and not in 6 months.
It seems May 2022 is the month the "integrity team" are washing over sellers like a wave, sweeping all of your success and reserve sales income away. Etsy's a sweat shop run on OUR inventory and investment, OUR labor, OUR integrity, OUR taxes - They closed 2 of my family's shops one on 5-2-22 and other 5-17-22 no reason given, every single listing deactivated so I can't even save nor search them. This is MY company and inventory, and they owe the very basic courtesy of giving me full access until they provide ample proof of a policy violation. I spoke with attorney and brought up this monopoly's LACK of regulatory policies protecting sellers. I am so angry. If my violation is carrying vintage amber embedded in silver rings and earrings (not teething necklaces or amber chips nor beads) - then Etsy is still SUPER over-reacting. Of 1200 listings, I have maybe 30 pieces with amber - that surely is worthy of the most severe of punishments and permanent banishment from ever selling OR buying on Etsy ever again! Sellers have zero rights, it is my $40k investment in my business that gives them their billions and they need to shape up and respect that! Someone in online commerce, somewhere out in the world PLEASE HELP US! Of the 1200 listings I'm having to go in one at a time to save the photos manually, that amounts to 12,000 photos that Etsy will NOT let me have normal access to!
Arbitrary payment reserve hold
On May 1 I had an account reserve placed on my Etsy shop.
To make it clear none of the risk factors laid out in Etsy's Terms and Services and reasons for why a reserve may be placed on a shop apply to my business. My shop is almost 3 years old. I have not had an sudden increase in sales. I have no open cases or IP infringements. 99% of my orders ship out on time. I am a successful 6 figure business who has brought Etsy A LOT of profit. I am 2% away from star seller. There is zero reason for there to be an account reserve on my shop. I follow the rules, bend over backwards for my customers and am a positive member of the Etsy community. No one has told me why the reserve is on my account, only that it is and there is nothing to be done about it. And that is completely unacceptable.
I made $800 in sales yesterday and you know how much was deposited into my account today? $6. How I am supposed to produce and ship orders on $6 is beyond me. $6 is NOT 25% of $800.
I don't know what the purpose of placing a reserve on a successful shop that follows the rules is. Because as it stands right now I have 60 orders set to ship out today and tomorrow. Which means (the way Etsy has been dispersing funds) I can probably expect a $12 deposit tomorrow.
Etsy is destroying my business. At this rate I will be forced to shut down my shop by the end of next week. Keeping 100% of profits and expecting a business to not become a risk is unrealistic. I was not a risk before all this, but I guarantee you if this reserve continues, I will be.
#standwithsmall? This is not it and it definitely is not the image that Etsy is trying to portray to buyers and sellers. They do not support me or my company. They are chasing me off of the platform for arbitrary reasons. And that is completely unacceptable.
Desired outcome: Payment reserve removed from my account and for Etsy to stand by the terms and standards they have set so sellers on the platform have job security.

misrepresentation of the seller's place of selling
Hi,
I bought an item from GrannysMotif on Etsy; her storefront page says that the seller is from Toronto, Canada. (which she is not)
When initially searching on Etsy for that item, I was in Canada at the time, I used the filter to locate and buy from a Canadian seller. So I was brought to that seller. To my surprise, after buying the item from GrannysMotif and looking at the tracking, I realized that the seller makes and ships items from St-Petersburg, Russia. I believe it is misrepresentation and buyers have the right to know where their items come from before purchasing. I don't think it's right and I think it should display St-Petersburg, Russia on her storefront, it's misleading.
There was some problem with my order, my order was returned to the seller and sent back to me again. I received the item four months after the date of purchase but I wasn't able to leave a review.
Desired outcome: I want the seller to display the true location of her shop on her front page.
All one size net pots for plants
Ordered a mixture of sizes for my net pots for plants and received ten of the smallest pots.order number [protected] sent two messages to vendor and no answerrr
Desired outcome: Still need all different sizes
Charged for nothing
Hi I just got charged 40¢ Today for nothing really because it doesn’t say what I was charged for and I don’t even have things for sale anymore so there should be no reason I was charged? I don’t have an Etsy plus account and there’s no fees I should be paying
I never received my order/tracking package details are not correct
On April 6th i ordered a T-Shirt (https://www.etsy.com/listing/536426403/houndstooth-shirt-ricky-costume-bowling). It was estimated to arrive on April 29th because I live in Europe and the package would be delivered from USA.
Three days later I get a notification that my package was delivered but to a completely different address in the USA.
The next day I contacted the seller and they told me that they uploaded the wrong tracking order and sent me another one. But now almost 3 weeks later no update has been made to that package. I contacted the seller again but they told me since the package seems to be delivered I should check with my neighbours or my carrier. I opened a case with Etsy but the case was closed immediately because the package had Delivered status.
Desired outcome: I would like to recieve the package before May 7th if possible, if not i would like a refund so I can try and buy it from another seller
Unable to contact Etsy support to update my account info
Nearly a month ago, my email, password, and mobile number were exposed on the Dark Web. Fortunately, I was notified via an ID Theft Protection service about the leak and I was able to change my password. I also called my mobile service provider to change my number. So, I've spent the past few weeks changing usernames and passwords on every single website that I use, Etsy.com included.
Unfortunately, the 'brain trust' that invented Two-factor Authorization (2FA) failed to take into consideration that people might not actually keep the same mobile phone number for their entire lives, which causes a migraine-inducing and often insurmountable problem to those who change their mobile numbers (regardless of reason).
The actual problem? When I attempt to log-in, 2FA attempts to send a six-digit code to my old mobile number, which I no longer have access to. And when I try to contact Etsy support, anywhere on their site (no matter the page I'm on), I am automatically redirected back to the log-in page, only to repeat this 2FA nonsense all over again. Enough is enough.
Desired outcome: Update my information, please.

I bought a juicy couture black wallet
Hi, I bought a Juicy Couture Black Wallet from a seller in Chicago. I live in a suburb of Chicago 40 miles away. She was late sending it out. I contacted her on when she was sending... she said sorry. I received a box that had a Dragon
on a purse with a note saying sorry its late. Well I ordered a Juicy wallet. Now she won't send me the wallet I bought. I bought on Etsy as a guest. She told me to open a account on Etsy for a return of her mistake. So I did. Then she wants me to send her my new account somehow... I don't know how. This is alot to go through for her mistake. I'm a customer and should not have this stress. I am 70 years old. I told her to send me my wallet I bought with 13.00 for the return of the Dragon purse. I would send back asap. I'm not going to steal $13.00 & her Dragon purse... She won't send me my wallet. April 2022.
Etsy
Etsy is preventing innocent online merchants from doing business simply because they are in Russia or a country that supports Russia. This is wrong and inexcusable to punish innocent people. I am appalled at this behavior and will no longer support Etsy. I have been a long time customer, and placed hundreds of dollars worth of orders in the past year alone. I am boycotting Etsy and encouraging everyone I know to do the same. Shame on them for this disgraceful behavior.
Desired outcome: End this insane ban of Russian sellers and sellers in countries that support Russia.
