assistant manager
"Stephanie from South Hulen, " is the name she gave me when I asked for her name. She said she's the only Stephanie in the district. Brought in 2 Apple devices to trade in and was immediately told neither employee knew how to do that. I asked for the store manager, Stephanie said she way. I've spent thousands here and know the manager and when I described him she said, "oh I'm the assistant manager." I said, "maybe you shouldn't say you're the store manager, " and her attitude turned terrible. I asked if there was anything they could do or possibly call a store in the district and she said no. I told her she had a bad attitude and she immediately told me to "get out of her store." "For what? because you are the manager and are unable to help me?" She then said "In the state of Texas I have the right to refuse service." I said okay "I'll take my business to another Game Stop that knows how to do their job." She then said she was calling 911 then proceeded to follow me and take video or pictures of my plates (which I helped her because I did nothing wrong.) I've spent thousands of dollars in this specific store dating back to their old location. The Store manager knows be by name. I've never seen Stephanie and never been treated like I'm in the wrong for trying to trade something at Game Stop. They've always treated me well and that's why I come back. The store manager works his butt off and it shows. I do know this, they didn't ask if I was a pro member, they didn't ask if I had I.D. and they didn't ask for a phone number to check if I was a member. The was closing at 6:00 P.M. and I came at 5:20 P.M. I was told "this is a VERY long process." So if you don't know how to do it then how do you know it's a long process? HMM... I'm not in the wrong for being the customer and questioning why the "manager on duty" is unable to assist, help find assistance or simply say "I'm very sorry, can you please come when this person (that knows how to do this is here) or please go to this location." It's not my fault the girl lost her temper and made me get frustrated. I was kicked out of a store for no good reason. She treated me like trash and couldn't handle that I called her out on it. I'm disgusted. I hope you Game Stop takes a good look into her customer service abilities as I'm 29 years old and have done customer service my entire life and understand the incompetence this young lady brings to the company. After she got my plate numbers from my car I grabbed my phone from in the car and took a video and said "you're Stephanie from South Hulen correct? She wouldn't say her name once on video."
tv commercial
My seven year old daughter and my son said the word [censor] after hearing in on the tv, i'm a single dad raising five kids. I try to be the best dad I can without using swear words, just thought you should know what the kids are saying after seeing the commercial, I would really appreciate it if you could resolve this complaint in a timely manner. I don't swear around my family or friends... Please contact me at [protected].
Thank you, Jason Whitson
I just saw this disgusting and totally inappropriate commercial for GameStop that features Santa Clause swearing at the end! To make matters even worse it aired on AMC early Saturday afternoon on December 23rd during the children's Christmas movie, Miracle on 34th Street. I totally agree with this father's complaint against GameStop and also think a complaint should be made against AMC for their irresponsible and egregious programming and airing of this awful ad on a Saturday afternoon during a children's, Christmas movie with millions of children watching! Responsible parents who do control what their children watch could not have ever imagined that such an awful commercial like this featuring Santa Claus using bad language would have been actually aired on an early Saturday afternoon during a Christmas movie about Santa Claus when mostly children would have been viewing it at that time! This was on Dish Network. Shame on them! They should be sued and boycotted by parents!
employee complaint
I have came to this Game Stop every week inquiring about the Super Nintendo gaming system and each week I am told the shipment hasn't been checked. Today 12/13/2017, I walk into the store with no customers present and ask is it in stock. Jordan proceeds to tell me she hasn't looked through the shipment yet and how busy she is. She was simply talking to another employee when I walked in so she wasn't busy. Other employees in the store offer to look and actually take the time to look unlike her. I was also told one day the units were not there when indeed they were and the next day they were sold out due to her not checking. I am beyond frustrated and think something should be done about lazy unprofessional employees who don't care to deliver good customer service. I am also aware that most Game Stop locations are aware of what the shipments consist of prior to arriving.

switch
I ordered a Switch from the GameStop website last month. Delivery date was supposed to be Nov. 21st. It never came, so I called UPS and started a package investigation. They said to stay in contact with GameStop (the seller) because they would update only them on what happens during the investigation. I called GameStop customer service on numerous occasions (once being on hold for over 3 hours!) and still, no one has taken my phone call. I took my complaint to social media, posting on facebook and twitter, hoping to find help. No luck there either. I've emailed GameStop twice and no help. Now, I'm seeing that my package is being sent back to the seller. Why? I cannot get ahold of anyone to help me or refund me my money! I need help! I would rather not take this to court, but I'm at my wits end with you guys.
customer service is horrible
I normally shop in store, this year decided to shop online Black Friday so I didn't have to wait in the lines. I ordered my items at 2am on Thanksgiving morning. They took the 109.00 off my card, shipped the cheapest of my items. When they shipped that item, they released the money they had authorized minus the amount for what shipped, no clue why, makes no damn sense to me at all. Well being that I keep my debit card locked unless I am using it, this of course caused that charge to not go through.
This starts my mornings of hell. I call these people at 9am, the SECOND they open and I automatically get a BS message of "we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes", I'm beginning to think their call center has 2 people working in it. I'm on hold for over a hour, FINALLY get the outsourced country on the phone and he tells me "oh no problem I will run your card back through, it can take up to 24 hours for the authorization to go through" well it only took TWO SECONDS to go through when I charged it originally, so this makes no sense either. I get a supervisor on the phone, I'm told "Oh no worries, it wont take 24 hours and your items will ship today no problem"
SO 24 hours goes by, I call back YET again at 9am, same stupid message, on hold 43 minutes this time, outsourced customer service answers again, I explain everything again because apparently it wasn't noted on the account. To be told ONCE again, "no problem, no need to worry, your items will ship today"
So here I am FOURTY EIGHT HOURS later, items still haven't shipped, they are however sitting there with a tracking number for the USPS that gives me a message that Gamestop hasn't bothered to give them the package yet, the money STILL hasn't come off my card yet and well I will NEVER in my damn life order ANYTHING online from Gamestop. I'm a Elite Pro member, I'd hate to see the service anyone else gets ffs.
customer service and false advertisement
I ordered an Xbox one s on November 24th 2017. It stated one business day for processing and also states "usually ships within 24 hours. Here it is 5 days later, and nothing has been done about it and it has not shipped. They have already taken the money out of my account and ive already recieved games for it that i cannot play because i have no got the system yet. One business day would've been monday and it should have shipped on Tuesday. I have been trying to call every customer service number i can find for the last 6 hours, off and on. No one will answer the phone. I have called corporate and they will not answer either. I've sent multiple emails and have received no response. HIGHLY disappointed in Gamestop and I do not plan on giving them another dime of my money.
customer service issues
Had I read the dozens upon dozens of complaints across the Internet that exist concerning dealings with GameStop I would have been more careful in dealing with them. Instead of doing research first, I made the mistake of placing an order with them. Now I am in the same predicament that hundreds of others have found themselves in.
On Thanksgiving Day I ordered a PS4 Pro online from GameStop. Never have used this company before, I did so because of a special deal they were running. After completing the order, I saw a better deal on BestBuy's online site.
I tried to cancel the order from GameStop. Thing is, there is no way to cancel an order. From what I found out later, the company makes it absolutely impossible for customers to cancel and order once placed from them. There is no email link to write customer support anywhere on their site. There is a toll-free customer support line which I will talk more about in a moment. The only other way to contact tier-one support is via an app that one must download on their mobile device and then select FEEDBACK. GameStop makes it as difficult as possible to reach customer support.
I did send support a ticket via their app, and on Thanksgiving day I received a reply saying my order could not be stopped. Now, think about this. Nobody works the warehouse on Thanksgiving day. There is no way my order could have been packaged and processed --- especially since GameStop explicitly states that it takes one day for order processing.
So, let's talk about their toll-free number. I called four times during Thanksgiving day to reach someone. On each call, I was on hold for 70 minutes until I finally hung up each time.
Now, one could say that an expected surge in call volume would be expected during a holiday weekend. I would normally agree with that. However, if you take a moment to Google "cannot get through on GameStop phone support, " you will find a multitude of threads from various gaming forums where angry customers talk about this specific issue. It seems like, at any given time, GameStop will keep people on hold for well over 30 minutes -- no matter what time of year you call. There are customers who speak of having to keep their speakerphone running for well over 30 minutes while they continue doing their own business.
I finally get through to GameStop support the day after Thanksgiving. On this particular call, I was on hold for 75 minutes before an operator answered. The operator was rude. Even though my order was listed as still being "open, " the day after a holiday, the operator told me that my order was already packaged and being processed for delivery.
As I sit here and write this complaint, now 3 days later, my order is still listed as being "open." It has not been shipped. I have not been provided with a tracking number. This is a simple case of GameStop not wanting to stop the order and making the customer go through the process of returning the item.
If anyone thinks that my complaint is unfounded, I invite you to Google "GameStop complaints." You will be amazed just how many other customers experienced the same issue where within an hour of placing an order with the company, GameStop refused to cancel the order. In fact, complaints across the Internet cite rude and uncooperative customer support.
Some customers are even complaining that GameStop makes it impossible to return shipped orders as they put no return address on the package. That's something I cannot confirm as of yet, but will be watching for as I plan to refuse my shipment.
It just amazes me that this company is still in existence and has been allowed to treat customers in this manner.
I will be posting negative reviews on the Internet as well as updating them with any additional issues I experience with this company. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Once my charge hits the credit card, I will be putting a stop to payment. I am not even going to allow the company to collect a dime off of me. They will get their package back one way or another, but I won't be paying for it.
Interesting post.
The problem is that Ronald admits placing the order and then supposedly wants to cancel because of a better deal elsewhere. I'd like to take the poster's side of the argument, but there really is too many issues within his logic.
For example, the concept that one should be able to easily cancel an order because "no one works on Thanksgiving day." I can tell you that is absolutely not the case. If fact, Game Stop and many places like them have a full on warehouse to process orders. When the order goes in, the whole process begins with pickers and conveyor belts to ready and ship the order. In order to be competitively priced, the process needs to be that efficient.
Secondly, the concept that it's rather easy to refuse the shipment and send the order back. Without the proper R.A. (return authorization) number, you could just as easily find the order winding up within a type of black hole. Just because the package gets sent back does not mean credit is automatically issued.
Finally, reversing the charge when it appears on one's account is not that simple. If one reports fraud falsely, especially when a charge thereafter is for the same product at a different retailer, there's going to be a lot more problems than getting a little bit better deal on a game system.
If Ronald was wise, he'd either just get an R.A. number from Game Stop and return it properly. Or simply accept the original order and enjoy the game system. Just because there's a better perceived deal from a different retailer doesn't mean the same system from a different retailer will be any less enjoyable. Frankly, all this effort and time should have enough value to Ronald so as to not fuss with the whole thing.
scamming with black friday funko mystery boxes I want a refund!
I need to get a hold of the corporate office in demanding $400 of mine and my wife's money back that we spent between 2 GameStop locations on thanksgiving and Black Friday in trying to get chaseS in the "mystery boxes" I have verified and have proof that they were all not in fact unknown of who was getting chaseS and who wasn't so people like us spent nearly $400 on these things got 0 chaseS at the first location on galleria drive in charlotte NC and off independence in Indian trail got no chase out of over 20 boxes! Turns out the employees knew exactly which boxes were chaseS and after talking to several people who either work at GameStop or have friends who work at them and managers at them who they know it's a known fact funko had placed the chaseS in each shipping box a certain way then the non chaseS and they were pulling them and only certain people like their friends were getting them making people like me spend hundreds thinking we had a fair shot to get them this is [censor]! I want our money back you can see with my phone number with my power card [protected] how many boxes we in fact bought split between my card and her card/cash now I'm stuck with over 20 non chaseS if I knew that the employees knew which ones were the chaseS and they didn't even have them out for us to pick I wouldn't have bought a single one! I refuse to be scammed and lose this money it's not like I lost $20 we lost $400! The first location that we got none at had them behind the counter and only had 10 out and none were chaseS so that has to be one of the locations that pulled for certain people because the odds are supposed to be 1/5 tell me how we bought over 20 and got none? And just one threat example of how people are talking about this and a guy who claims he was given these chaseS from the master box...this was a very wrong money scam make it seem like we are getting a good deal because we got them for $14.99 a piece? The whole point was so we actually had a fair chance of getting the chaseS I would not have bought one had I known first the boxes were marked for employees know which character was in each case and which was the chase! All I want is my money back and I'm going to makes sure everyone knows what funko/GameStop did for this Black Friday scam...I have always been a regular customer of GameStop...well I know I'm sure I will never participate in these mystery boxes again. What a terrible thing you all let your employees do to their customers who they don't personally know. Please just refund us our money. And I need corporate to get this! I will be calling them after this to make sure they receive this email
world of warcraft 60 day prepaid time card
Was browsing the website for items I frequently buy when I noticed they had a pre-paid time card for a game I play often. The price was a great deal, much lower than usual. It didn't state that it was discontinued or marked down or anything. It actually said "Regular Price" next to the price. The price they had listed was $11.97 for an item that was normally $29.99. It said the item was unavailable online, but knowing their policy, if an item is listed as a price online they will honor it in store. But that was not the case. I went to 4 different Gamestops to try and redeem this price and heard every excuse in the book. Needless to say, but they falsely advertised a price.
false advertising
Gamestop just tried to charge me 21 dollars for a used copy of halo 5. It is clearly 10 dollars on the site and in the catalog that I showed them. They still insisted that I give them 21 dollars when that is an old used game that is priced at 10 dollars smh. All the sales associate had to say was he had to charge the price that was on the register. The manager also agreed with him, while she was holding the piece of paper that said the game was 10 dollars. They are not honoring their black Friday sales at all, they just falsely advertise to get people in the store. I didn't go for it.
black friday false advertising
I recently purchased the Black Friday Sale of the $199 Playstation 4 WITH a $50 gift card. My order is on the way and arrives this week. I called on the day I ordered to verify where/how my code would be sent to me. I was told it would be in email once the order went through. No email ever came. I called today and was told the Black Friday Sale I bought does not come with a $50 gift card. I am not accepting this. I talked to a supervisor and he would not help me either. On this Black Friday Ad, https://bestblackfriday.com/store/gamestop
It CLEARLY shows the deal I wanted with the gift card. The supervisor told me on the Gamestop site it shows just the Playstation for $199, LESS the $50 gift card. My issue with all this is, WHY was I able to purchase the Black Friday Playstation deal with $50 gift card FROM THE AD ITSELF, if it wasnt going to come with the gift card? This seems fraudulent to me.. The link SHOULD NOT BE WORKING in that ad if this is the case. All i want is the gift card the ad shows I would be getting and WAS TOLD I would get.
O#[protected] 1st call to gamestop store locally: 11/19 2nd call asking where gift card was 11/21.
Avoid them
I have two things to say:
first. don't order from them. try to avoid if it's possible.
second. If it's impossible, then use paypal for making payments because it will guarantee you will get your refund. the company tends not to send items, so it's possible that you will have to open disputes to get your hard-earned money back. The company will never do it if you pay with your credit/debit card.
So be very careful and order same or similar items elsewhere.
one of the employees at your chickasha store is doing drug deals in the store during work hours.
Let me start by saying I regular game stop. I was in the store with my children last week and a employee handed money to a woman and she stuck drugs in his pocket I'm sure it will be plainly visible on your cameras. It was at your chickasha location. I hope that is not the type of things you stand behind as a corporation. I hope you are able to do something about the drug dealing.
Unfortunately you don't have any actual proof that the item being exchanged was a drug. If you truly believe it was, you should call the store or Gamestop's corporate customer service.
manager harassment
Me and my brother recently went to the Welland Seaway Mall location to purchase the new Mario game for the WII-U, A worker and manager were there and we were checking out with the Worker, the worker asked if we had a edge card, I said no.
He asked if we would like to sign up for one, it's free etc. We said no thanks, we don't come here too often and I don't feel like carrying it around if i don't come here enough to really reap the benefits of getting one.
He said OK and continued on with our transaction, right as he asked if we would want the 3$ game warranty, the manager came and aggressively slapped a flier about the edge card in front of us and said "Just sign up so we stop asking you." I told him I really didn't want one and to please stop asking.
Then he proceeded to give us a unwanted stare and said "Really? why not it's free" and i said, Stop asking me, and started to lose my smile because i was getting annoyed.
Right as i was about to leave he said "You don't really look happy" and I'm like OK guy listen here, Knock it off you [censor]. You're being super unprofessional, and he replied "In one ear and out the other"
I didn't catch his name but he's the only bald guy with a goatee who looks in his mid 30's early 40's that works at this location.
customer service
On November 7, 2017 at approx. 5:15 p.m. I attempted to call customer service to ask why my password reset link wasn't being sent to my recovery email that I had set up. On the website under the "help center" section, it claimed that the email would be there in 15 minutes.
When it did not appear in my inbox or my spam folder I decided to call the customer support line at [protected]. Upon being put through to a machine, it told me that they were experiencing an unusually high volume of calls (which is exactly what it said the previous time I tried to call).
It then informed me that in about 15 minutes, somebody would be on the line with me to help sort out the problems I was having after being prompted to press '1' twice. Thirty-five minutes later, and nothing has happened. I was still just listening to some nonsense about new awful video games that were coming out.
This would not have bothered me had it not played out exactly the same way when I called a few months prior for the same exact problem.
Any other website would have that email sent out within two minutes. However for GameStop and the rubes that work there, that's far too fast. They feel they need to dangle the carrot.
A HALF HOUR TO SEND OUT AN EMAIL CONCERNING MY PRO REWARDS ACCOUNT PASSWORD IS TOO LONG.
The way I see it, they choose to put that disclaimer on the line during the customer service phone call just to slack off and not pick up the phone that much longer.
The way I see it, they choose to not send these emails so that it makes your decision to cancel their service that much harder for you. If you've got a complaint, they don't want to hear it.
They're just another company on the list of companies that will consistently grab for your cash. One year ago, there was the PowerUp Pro Rewards Program: the highest tier. Now, there's PowerUp Platinum or some such nonsense that gives you little to no value for paying an extra 15 dollars.
TLDR: They don't know how to treat people, so they just...don't.
P.S. I checked my email four hours later, and it's still not in either folder.
"The way I see it, they choose to put that disclaimer on the line during the customer service phone call just to slack off and not pick up the phone that much longer."
That's quite an assumption for which you did not have any actual evidence.
service
Your location in albemarle opened for only 30 minute for your midnight release on 11/07/2017. This isn't right. I arrived around 12:45 an and was turned away. I did inform them I had pre paid and had driven 30 minutes to get there. At this level of service I feel I should move my gaming business online with playstaion. I am a loyal customer and this feels like a slap in the face.
samsung galaxy s6
We were told GameStop would give us $90 for our Samsung Galaxy s6. Once we got to the store in St. Cloud FL. they would barely give us $40 due to a microscopic wear mark on a corner where the case rubbed against it. We are very disappointed that GameStop would find any excuse to give anyone absolute bottom dollar for something in excellent shape. You sell these used phones for $200 plus. That's well over a 300% mark up! If you would have given us the $90 then it's still over a 200% mark up. But because of your(Gamestop's) greediness I did not let you take advantage of us. You truly should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to screw people in this way. You would have still made a good profit. We are very disappointed in the way GameStop conducts business. And we know GameStop will not do anything about this because they flat out don't give a **** about fairness to their customers. This will greatly affect our future game purchases, as in you just lost a frequent loyal customer. Please understand I could care less about the $50 markdown, it's not just about the money, it's the way you are taking advantage of your customers. Thanks for reading...
call of duty free zombie giveaways
When I pre ordered the valor edition I asked for zombie giveaways they told me that I would get it when I got the game instead they gave me an infinite warfare keychain with a inch of dust on it.i told the guy I was doing this for the zombie instead of downloading off dashboard if you are gonna tell people to do this u should have the product instead of telling people what they want to hear to get them to buy the game at your store...
ordering gift card online
I ordered a gift card online this morning around 7am. I kept waiting for a place to enter the recipient's email address but there wasn't one. I submitted the order and hoped that I could go back in and change the email address to someone other than myself (why would I want to send a gift card to myself?) There is no chat. There is no way to change the order. There is no way to cancel the order. I called the customer service line that is "always open" and immediately got the "we are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls" message. At 7:30. On a Friday morning. Sure. 30 minutes of wait time later someone answered the call and said - the last person I was talking to hung up and I just need two minutes to log something. Really? I said no to that. At this point I wanted to cancel my order. They couldn't do that. But maybe we can refund. Hold on. No sorry we can't refund. Then please put me on with someone who can. Hold on. 5 minutes later same person returns.. can you tell me why you want to cancel? I already told you twice. Repeated story. Ok let me see if I can refund. Sorry, unfortunately... Please put me on with someone who can resolve this. Let me check to see if my supervisor is available. My supervisory is extremely busy but we can schedule a call back. Who may I expect will be calling? Any of my supervisors. And when will they be calling? I don't know.. sometime today probably. And I should trust that someone will call me back? Yes, they mostly do. And who do I call directly if no one calls me back. You can just call this number again. This is ridiculous. I will never purchase something from this company again!
