GE repair scheduled an appointment in early January between 1-5 and canceled. Rescheduled 8-12 and canceled but ordered parts needed. Rescheduled, the technician came out informed me, "they cannot work on the unit because it is located in the attic and GE cooperate policy states GE technicians cannot work on unit in an attic". They stated they would get someone who "could" come and work on it. Rescheduled an appointment, another GE technician came out, out for an appointment to inform me they could not work on it because, "they cannot work on the unit because it is located in the attic and GE cooperate policy states GE technicians cannot work on unit in an attic". They stated they would get someone who "could" come and work on it. A 3rd appointment scheduled on a Saturday between 8-1. appointment to inform me they could not work on it because, "they cannot work on the unit because it is located in the attic and GE cooperate policy states GE technicians cannot work on unit in an attic". They stated they would get someone who "could" come and work on it. After several calls and complaint because I have wasted two days of my work and a Saturdays. They assured me they gave me a number [protected] for an off network technician that could work on it. Called and they had no idea and wouldn't come to my location because of it was out of their service area. I was informed to "take my unit out of the attic" and a GE technician would work on it. I have spoke with Kevin, Adele, Peggy at [protected] extension 3687 and more. I have wasted 3 days and MANY hours on the phone. I purchased GE to avoid second rate services and found this to be the worst experience of my life.
ge profile slide in range
Control panel is locked. Cannot operate oven units and the lights will not come on. Have sent for service and the service ticket was rejected by the Service center as he does not work on Gas Ranges. Cannot speak to anyone at GE that will resolve the issue and the warranty clock is ticking. I would not tell anyone to ever purchase a GE appliance as their Consumer relations is horrible and there is no communication. Also when calling their phone numbers the numbers will disconnect from you and your are not able to speak to anyone regarding your situation.
ge bottom door refrigerator
Refrigerator breaks down constantly, is not repairable and/or faulty parts are being used.
Oct 2015: repaired water leaking under vegetable bins; replaced ice maker freezing up; water leaking onto floor
Apr 2016: repaired water leaking under vegetable bins; replaced ice maker freezing up; water leaking onto floor
May 2016: replaced ice maker leaking water; dispenser filling with water
Sep 2016: replaced ice maker leaking water; dispenser filling with water
Repair costs to date: $1, 625
Nov 2016: water again leaking under vegetable bins
Dec 2016: ice maker leaking water, water running onto floor from bottom of fridge
I concluded i bought a lemon and decided not to spend more money to repair nov and dec breakdowns and requested a replacement refrigerator. Ge did offer to replace the refrigerator for $1, 000 (Replacement cost of a new fridge). But i want full replacement as i've already spent over $1, 600. Ge will not answer my request either by phone or mail. Decided to also contact home depot where my purchase was made and see if i can enlist their help in getting a replacement refrigerator.
Definition of a lemon: not fixed after a reasonable number of repair attempts.
repair of microwave oven
22nd Dec asked for repair and advised fault, 29th Dec technician arrives, an hour late, with no parts and orders what is needed.Make $150 part payment.Says he will come back 5th Jan.Go online when he doesn't appear and it has been put back to next day.Parts arrive 6th Jan but go online and has been put back to 10th Jan.Arrives 10th Jan, right at end of 4 hour window, tells me the parts are faulty and orders more, he tells me he has expedited them and he or someone else will ring me later in day with information. No one rings.Next day ring GE and wait 45 minutes. No explanation of why no contact and told he will visit on 17th Jan.Ask to be put through to e senior person who can expedite and after 30 minute wait speak to Charielle(ex 5271) who sympathises, says she cannot expedite and give sme an incident no.[protected]).13th Jan replacement parts arrive. On 17th Jan find a swing ticket on door at 11:30 am saying technician called and no-one home, We did not receive a previsit warning, which is mandatory, have a very loud doorbell and were both up and around by 7:30 am.Rang Charielle(45 minute wait), went to voicemail and message was she would ring back in in 24-48 hours-still not done so.Had to redial in, waited 35 minutes to be told technician had called me(nothing on my call log and this is not the system anyway-it is an automated warning, Told she had rung "despatcher" to try to get someone earlier and would be rung within the hour.No one called so rang again(40 minute wait), and told it was only a request to this person and if he did not ring me that was OK !.Also no email advice received for this or previous visit.Hoping he comes next week.Appalling service and systems is an understatement-no one cares, you wait for hours and no-one rings when they say they will .Peter Chappelow, 533 70th Street, Holmes Beach, Florida 34217.phone [protected], cell [protected], email [protected]@hotmail.com
ge hotpoint side by side refrigerator
Let me begin by saying that I have been trying to get my refrigerator repaired now for SIX days, and still have not been able to schedule a repair. Yesterday I held "for the next available agent for 2 hours and 10 minutes! Every person I speak to refers me to another phone number to call. Does anyone at this company want to help me? ! ? ! The problem is that I purchased an extended warranty in 2015 (the last time we had this frig fixed) and there is no record of it, even though I have the receipt from when I purchased it! This is my last ditch effort - dont know what else to do! PLEASE HELP! Would appreciate a phone call - not an e-mail - from someone
customer service
I had an appointment from 1-5 on Monday, they texted at 3 to say they were on their way, never showed. Claimed they called me "multiple times which is untrue, customer service Simone with the Memphis office stated there was " no one that i could speak to regarding a supervisor, they could not help me and would not give me any more information of someone to talk to" worst customer service experience. She flat out said "No" when i asked to talk to talk to someone that could help me, when i said "excuse me" she said "what". We actually have stock in this company. Will never own another GE Appliance. Have left message with Customer Relations, waiting on call back.
terrible appliances
GE used to be good. We got all new GE appliances just 6 months ago, and they are terrible. Stove burners cannot adjust except high and low. Drawer on oven comes off constantly when opened. Frig has already leaked, and freezer drawer gets stuck. The dishwasher does not clean well. So tired of having to wash things twice. Will never buy GE again. Pictures below are when stuff just came out of dishwasher (and we rinse first!) We had a Bosch for many years till we moved. Would go back to Bosch.
Bosch has become junk. Expensive junk. Don't waste your money. Stick to Whirlpool or Frigidaire. It's your best bet. And, yes, I agree, GE appliances have been racking up a lot of complaints lately. I'm not surprised to hear your story.
wall oven
My mother purchased GE wall oven and has had dry food and uneven baking since she has had it. Two different appliance repair service companies came out to check the problem. I have paperwork, but too much to scan and send. I have a photo of her cookies she just cooked and I am attaching it. She feels like her hands are tied on trying to resolve this problem. One repairman said his opinion is poor design. My mother is very unhappy with this purchase and wants this resolved ASAP.
washing machine that seems was defective
Had to place a service call for GE Tech to take a look at our almost new GE Washer that was purchased 18 months ago. He gave us an estimate for $660 to fix our machine. All houses that we owned had and have GE appliances and we never were that disappointed like we are right now. This is absolutely insane to pay that much money to fix a washer that was recently purchased. It seems like to us that there was something wrong from the very beginning since it didn't last long at all. Suddenly machine started to make a loud noise on the spin cycle and after calling a tech we found out that we have to replace the basket and it is a two man job so it is going to cost us $660. Where is the guaranty that it won't happen again after a year? We expected this unit to last at least 5 years. Very frustrated and just disappointed. Definitely didn't expect something like that happen with GE appliance...
washer recall wpgt9350
Over the last few months my washer would start making a beeping noise when it was off. So after using it, I would unplug it until the next load was going to be done and when I was not home. Then, there was issues with the rinsing cycle- worked sometime and not others. So, I called two repair places. They said it would cost more for the visit and for any repairs than the machine was worth. I was advised to get a new machine. On Dec 2, 2016, I purchased a new machine and paid to have the other one removed. After that I received a GE Recall letter on my washer, dated Dec 5, 2016. I called the number provided and spoke to 2 people, the last one being from "Escalation" Dept. Now the information is being passed on to her "Lead" and I am informed that someone will be in touch with me, but don't know when.
My serial number was HG401244M. I know it was not a new machine, but had I known that the beeping was a fire risk and would have been fixed by GE, it would have saved me money, as my new machine cost me $740.97. ( Christmas time). I guess everything was poor timing!
I am hoping some sort of small compensation is available to me. I have always been happy with GE products and will continue to buy GE in the future.
Thank you,
Roberta Ward

In 2008 We purchased appliances to ad to the newly renta vated kitchen refrigerator model # gsh25jstss/ microwave- model # gld445oncs with six months both appliances, the total that I can account for is $627.77. The original cost on the refrigerator was $949.99 plus $116.15 tax/service contract $467.67 extended service contract one year$33.95. This refrigerator cost us $ 1567.76 This refrigerator should have been painted yellow. I am very disappointed with GE in the trouble we have been having your products. Just a FYI I have another GE refrigerator in my garage for over 25 years I have never had a problem; I keep thinking each repair will be the last, but if the past is any example, there will be more repairs needed . And for me NO more. Buy GE again never, Last thing I realize you do not want to be category with Packard or Studebaker
ge refrigerator is corroding and leaking through a hole in main panel of refrigerator
General Electric Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer is corroding and leaking some liquid through what now appears to be a small hole. The whole area below the water ice dispenser on outside door of the refrigerator is raised, bubbling, and corroding
I believe that there was a defect in the Manufacturing process as the refrigerator is not that old

ge cafe duel range
I loved by range and have bought all appliance to match, recently put oven on clean noticed rusty residue. When cleaning residue discovered actual holes from rust on oven bottom. I ordered a new bottom but upon further investigating noticed the sides also have small holes. The range is under extended warranty but told this is not covered. How to stop the rust and what caused this, I have tried to contact Gee about a solution but have not been successful to actual talk with someone just get repair service. I did have a similar rusting problem with my cafe microwave but with warranty and add'l cost replaced it with another Ge cafe Microwave. Please help, I am 70 years old and my appliances are high cost and cannot afford to replace.
my ge washer model wpgt9360
On September 24, 2016, my 8 year old washing machine had a burning smell after a loud screeching sound. I unplugged the machine (thank goodness I was home!). I called an independent service company for repair since it was no longer under warranty. He told me GE really values their parts, and the part, the main control panel, would be $620.78 plus tax. For nearly the same amount, I could buy a new machine, so I declined the repair. I purchased a new washer and they hauled off the burned out unit. In yesterday's (October 30, 2016) local paper, there was a list of recalls, and among them was my washer! I called GE, and after being on hold for at least 20 minutes, I finally got a person who told me that since I don't have the machine any longer, there was nothing they could do. I also spoke with 2 different supervisors, both of whom I was on hold for at least 20 minutes, and both told me the same thing (no washer, no nothing for me!). I have the invoice from the repair technician with all the info (Model #, Serial # and a description of my issue), but since I no longer have the machine they couldn't fix it, so there was nothing GE would do! I registered my machine when I got it, but received NO info regarding the recall, which was for the very same issue that I had. I got at least 100 "I understand" from the 3 different people I spoke with, but there still was nothing they would do! At the very least, I wanted reimbursement for the service call, but no, since I didn't call GE, they would do nothing. Why would I call GE for a machine that was 8 years old and out of warranty? I was told it says in the manual to call them with any issues. I never saw that, and even if I had, I probably wouldn't have called them since the machine was 8 years old. So, I will never buy another GE appliance, and I urge all who might read this to do the same.
You can not understand why you can't get a refund on something you no longer own?
dishwasher gld8700nbb
My ge dishwasher (about $1, 000 price) has design flaws.
It leaves a residue of (liquid) dishwasher detergent after each dish washing. it was that way since I bough it, and the warranty repair did not fix the problem. the malfunction is due to the following two design flaws.
1. the heater is flimsy and does not heat water enough to properly dissolve the detergent even though I set the water heater thermostat to the max, which sent my gas bills through the roof. I guess, that this flimsy heater was one of the reason that yielded the dishwasher the "energy star".
2. the detergent container is located next to the upper rack so it only can partially open, leaving each time some detergent there up to and including the rinse cycle. as a result, the said detergent is not completely rinsed out during the rinse cycle, and is left on the inside of the dishwasher and on my dishes in form of deposit.
Recently, I discovered that my and my wife's stomachs aches are attributable to the fact that the washing detergent left by the said dishwasher gets to our food and, eventually, to our digestive tracts.
Ge sent a tech to investigate the issue. from the very beginning, the tech was claiming that it was hard water that caused the dishwasher to malfunction. when I showed him still wet detergent left in the dispenser, he claimed it was not detergent but calcium. his claim was utterly absurd. but I am stack with ill-designed and malfunctioning dishwasher. their consumer complaint department did not resolve the issue, either, rejecting summarily my claims.
My rating of this ge dishwasher is 0 (zero) and my rate for the ge service is 0 (zero). I wish I never bought anything from ge.
ge monogram microwave
I just was charged $194.12 by GE Appliances to replace a $2.57 part that took 4 minutes to replace. The GE Monogram Microwave was 2 years old. If you are going to market and sell a 'top of the line' product', it actually should be. This is the definition of false advertising. Buyer beware.

ge profile microwave
Description:
Problem with ge profile microwave je2160bf03. Ge sent 2 microwave repairmen to my home to
Examine the damage that occurred when the unit malfunctioned. The 2nd a&e repairman that
Came out was [redacted] # is [redacted]. I reviewed the comments re: the microwave that
Were provided by the first tech, [redacted] from a&e, who indicated a microwave arcing and
Sparking, smoking etc is a safety issue. [redacted] said that he indicated that the microwave i
Have is non repairable due to the damage that was caused and is also evident in the picture I sent
To ge. [redacted] said that the microwave is a safety issue due to the fact that the wave guides
Are damaged. He said he has no influence on what goes into the final report to ge.
To date, ge has not been in compliance with the recommendations of 2 technicians they sent out
To evaluate the microwave. They have indicated they will not replace it, even though the
Malfunction almost caused a fire, due the microwave being out of warranty. They have offered
Me $15 off a future purchase or have offered to sell me a microwave at msrp prices and have it
Installed. I'm very concerned that ge sells microwaves that malfunction and that they don't stand
By the quality of their product. I want to have the microwave replaced and installed by ge at no
Charge. I already paid 1x for this microwave.
dishwasher
I bought their more expensive dishwasher that was awarded the "Energy Star".
The dishwasher was leaving a film of detergent on the dishes and on dishwasher's inside after each wash.
I called a warranty service and a not very friendly technician dismissed my claim saying that it is the water in my home that is not hot enough for the dishes to be washed properly.
He told me that one of the reasons why this dishwasher was awarded the "Energy Star" was that it was equipped with flimsy heater that was incapable of heating up the water it intakes from the tap by more than 10 F deg.
But even when I turn the water heater to the max, the dishwasher would still leave a film of detergent on the dishes, as well as some unsolved (liquid) detergent in the dispenser.
Recently, I discovered that I am actually eating some of that left detergent because if dissolves into water and other drinks from the cups and mugs that were washed in the dishwasher.
So, right now, I am washing the dishes manually before putting them into the dishwasher, and then, again, after washing them in the dishwasher, apparently, in order for General Electric to be able to collect their "Energy Star" awards.
If you think you may enjoy the above hassle then, by all means, by a GE dishwasher.
I have cut down on the amount of powder I put in my dishwashers. To very small amounts. I of course have rinse agent in them. My dishes and glasses come out sparling clean. Cheap, nothing special dishwashers, one in an area with magnesia water. Cut down on the powder you use. 1 teaspoon, or less.
dishwasher and range
I purchased three GE appliances for a kitchen remodel at my second home: a microwave, a range and a dishwasher. They seemed fine until installed. Then it was discovered the range had one non-working burner and the dishwasher would not start. As if this was not disappointing enough, the next month consisted of repeated calls between the local GE authorized repair vendor and GE customer service. I was told the parts could not be located, then GE Customer Service rep told me the parts were "overnighted" to the local authorized service vendor; they claimed they never received the parts. This continued for just under four weeks. GE management must be aware of the significant drop in quality for their products since they have gone to considerable lengths to effectively established a wall between the company and consumers who wish to escalate a problem. You cannot get being a cohort of young employees who are trained to basically tell you how sorry they are that you are having a problem.
washer, ghwn4250d1ww, ser# fd178594g
The water level never covers the clothes. Clothes are sodden even after extra spin cycle. Water runs out from under machine onto laundry room floor. I am using KIRKLAND signature premium laundry detergent, HE compatible. I use a minimal amount because I have allergies. I am 75 years old, on a fixed income and I am in no position to replace a washer that is still so new. What has happened to General Electric? Your products were once reliable. I believe this washer is sub standard and should be replaced. On my own I am not able to afford a new washer.
