General Motors 2016 corvette with defective transmission fluid

Dear Sir ,

I just spent $600 to replace the transmission fluid in my 2016 Corvette

with only 8,000 miles ! I was told by the dealer that the original fluid had

some quality issues and they now have a better product !

My Vette had been hesitating during shifting and apparently this fluid and /

or the Torque Converter is bad ! They changed the fluid to a new and

better product in " hopes " it will fix the issue ! If not , I am to return to

vehicle to have the Torque Converter replaced at a cost of $4,200 and this

is all at my expense !

Please advise as this seems like it should have been covered by a recall

and /or under warranty ! I never received any such information !

Thank you for understanding my concern !

Dennis Kessen

Desired outcome: RECOVERY OF $600 !

General Motors My brakes & back brake light on the right side

I bought this vehicle 8/15/2022. First I got a car that was not registered to me now the car I got back break light is out. I work for GMC AutoNation on Mendenhall. I asked them in the service department to look at it & fix the problem but nothing has been done. I got Hired 10/10/2022. I am a Sales person. New to the whole car business. But I need my car repaired. Please look into this matter. Also I am a Christian & they are making me work on Sundays. I told them I go to church in Sunday. They threatened my job. I like my job but this store is a mess from Top Management on down.

Respectfully submitted

General Motors Missing microchips

I purchased a 2022 Silverado LTZ Ltd on Feb. 3rd, 2022. As I've read before with other people, I was told the microchips would be installed around the third quarter of '22. I have purchased more than 35 GM vehicles, all but two were new, the two were one year old, all Chevys except three Pontiacs. I don't expect any special treatment, but I do expect to be treated fairly and with a little respect. The idea of most of the new vehicles sitting on the lot have their chips, and I don't (and everyone else like me), is total B.S. It's totally disgusting to me to be treated like this. I feel that just maybe, GM should table a little of their greed, and take care of the customers they already have, instead of customers they're hoping to get. If they don't, they may never see them again. I was also told that Iowa is not considered a "cold" state, so my butt and hands continue to freeze. I realize that sounds like I'm whining, but I did spend the money to have these "options".

Desired outcome: Install the microchips in the SOLD vehicles first.

General Motors 2022 High Country

I purchased a 2022 High Country in January 2022 and was told it was missing chips and they would be available in October 2022. This is a top of the line vehicle and cost over $60K. I have heard nothing regarding the missing chips for my vehicle and would like to find out when to expect them to be available. I don't understand why the 2023 can have chips and they are not getting the chips for customers that have purchased vehicles in 2022. I would like to know what I can do to remedy this issue. Is there a number I can call?

Desired outcome: I expect to have my chips for my 2022 High Country before it is a year old.

General Motors 2021 Chevrolet Silverado

I purchased my 2021 Silverado w/ 5.3 engine in March of 2021. I have less than 15,000 miles on it and it is in the shop having lifters replaced on one side of the engine. I don't understand why this has not been recalled and all lifters and rods replaced. I have looked this problem up on internet and found a lot of problems concerning this. Is there anything else I can do. I have never had a vehicle that has let me down and I feel this is not going to fix the ongoing problems with the lifters since they are not all being replaced. Can you give me some reasons to why it is not recalled and what if the other lifters fail? What if it runs out of warranty then they fail? Can you please give me insight and tell me if GM is looking further into this problem to make sure the people who bought the models included in the lifter problems will be taken care of? I also bought a 2022 High Country Tahoe with a 6.2 engine... no problems with it yet.

Thanks for your response,

Kevin Calhoun

General Motors 2021 Chevy Bolt

I purchased this car in Feb 2021.

A battery recall was announced in July 2021 and since that time I have been driving this unsafe car.

I need to be able to purchase a new car with a safe battery. EV Concierge does not help me!

This is NOT responsible behavior from a manufacturer!

Please arrange for me to purchase a new 2023 Chevy Bolt EV.

Desired outcome: New Car

General Motors Tri-coat pearl paint peeling on my 2016 Chevrolet crewcab

My compliant / concern is the paint is peeling, bubbling, flaking and blistering ony 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Crewcab. The pearl tri-coat paint started to fail without any external or environmental influence.

The paint is unable to adhere to the surface and begins to bubble and flake exposing the primer sealer.

Besides being visually unappealing - bubbling, peeling and flaking paint exposes the surface it was designed to protect. If left unrepaired, paint defects can eventually lead to rust further degrading the appearance of the truck.

I'm witnessing the finish on my GM truck deteriorate at an alarming rate over recent months.

This paint peeling is decreasing the value due to paint defect.

Michael Stewart

Desired outcome: All I'm seeking is the vehicle defective paint be repainted. I'd appreciate a response to this matter, please!

General Motors Missing Chips

I purchased a 2022 AT4 in December 2021, with the understanding that there was missing chips for my truck. Here it is almost a year later, and I am still missing chips in my truck. Please help me understand how a company can produce new 2023 vehicles with all the chips in them and my truck still missing them. I am or was a die-hard GM buyer because you have always been there for the consumer, however GM has lost that somewhere along the way. Please contact me by email or phone to discuss this matter further. ([protected]@gmail.com)(832/576-7657)

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response with an explanation how you plan on making this better quickly not another year later.

General Motors 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation

This vehicle has been in the shop for more than 80 days with emission problems, engine problems and now transmission problems. The vehicle was taken by theft and recovered. When recovered it was towed to the nearest GM shop where diagnostics were ran and the only issue found was that something was stuck to the transmission. Despite the anti-theft system and my account with OnStar the vehicle was able to be taken by theft, OnStar could not help with theft slow down or shutting down the engine saying the system had been tampered with. However, no diagnostics found any issues with either system, OnStar or GM's anti-theft. As stated above I have had ongoing issues with the engine but now, after already being told the engine was fine and after it has taken the shop close to one month ago to get an estimate to me, I am told the engine has blown and oil is sprayed all under the hood. Don't you think someone would have noticed a blown engine well before now? They have had the vehicle since October 2nd. I would like to know how a vehicle sitting idle in a shop blows an engine. There have been far too many issues with this truck considering it was purchased with 0 miles.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for my purchase and expenses incurred for repairs.

General Motors 2022 Buick Enclave

The vehicle is missing two chips. I was told by salesperson that they would come in fall. Still have not been contacted by GM that the chips for my Enclave have arrived. I have leased from Gm for years. This is not how you treat a loyal customer. I know that other people have been contacted by GM and the chips have been installed by the Jim Causley mechanics. I leased the vehicle in April. I have been patiently waiting to be contacted. My patience is running out. One of the chips is for heated seats. That is a feature that is important to my wife and myself. I am paying a good price for this vehicle, and it should have all of the features I am supposed to get. My 2022 Ford Edge came with everything

I asked for. I have supported the American auto industry loyally for years.

Desired outcome: I want the chips to be sent to Jim Causley in Mt. Clemens so that they can install them in my vehicle. My name is Alfred Cardinali.

General Motors 2019 Colorado shuddering when traveling 55-65 mph.

I own a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado Crewcab. Recently I have noticed that the truck is shaking or shuddering when traveling 55-70mph. the truck has 43,000 miles. At first I thought it was the roadway but have recently read the numerous complaints on Transmission Shuddering through GM Bulletin 18-NA-355. It is starting to occur more frequently. I see that there are no recalls on the Colorado. Im not sure what to do. Please advise.

Desired outcome: Repair shuddering issue. Shuddering is very annoying and concerning. Not sure how long repair would take but need a way to get around. No recalls that I can see filed but numerous customer complaints on shuddering.

General Motors Team Chevrolet of Boone NC "collision center"

On August 23rd I took my 2021 Ram dually into their body shop for an estimate on minor damage to right rear fender. After spending an hour on the estimate, they finally came up with a number, which seemed high, but 3-4 years ago I had some work done at this garage, and they did an excellent job, so I said OK. The soonest I could get an appointment was September 9th, so I took it, and brought the truck in on that date. They told me it would take about 5-7 business days to complete the work. The truck sat outside their shop for 2 weeks, before I noticed there had been any work at all done to it. They finally called me on October 13th to tell me my truck was ready. I wanted to inspect the work before I accepted it, and in less than a minute I had found 2 spots by the right taillight that had been buffed so hard that the primer was showing through. I then found 4 spots in the paint on the fender that looked like either lint, or dried paint strands had gotten into the paint, and made a very rough finish. At this point I stopped looking, and refused to accept this kind of amateur workmanship. I posted reviews on several social medias, and it didn't take long for a reply from their BDC director, asking me to call her, so I did. I explained the situation, and she said she would have a manager call me. On October 14th, the manager of their "collision center" called me, and said his painter hurt his back 3 weeks ago and couldn't work. Why wasn't I notified of this at that time, and why did they let some amateur paint my $85,000 truck? He said he had a painter coming from their Salisbury dealership (which is about an hour and 50 minutes away) to paint my truck on the 17th, and he would call me later that day to get it. The call never came. I called the dealership that evening to speak with the General Manager, but he was not there - I spoke with the Sales Manager, told him of all the stalling, poor quality of work, and lies I have gotten so far, and the only one I would talk to would be the General Manager. Soon after, the collision center manager called, and started to apologize, but I stopped him, said the only one I will now speak with is the General Manager to let him know what is going on at his dealership, then I hung up on him. Since these people have had my truck for over a month now, are they going to make my next truck payment?

Desired outcome: I want my truck fixed properly, now, or give it back and I'll take it somewhere that they will work on it, and do it right.

General Motors Sales service

I was trying to lease a tru k from HH Chevy in Omaha, NE. The salesmans name was Brett or Brent didnt get his last name. He condescended me and acted like it was a privilege to be at that dealer. I was trying to negotiate and he raised his voice i guess to hard sell me. Anyway since GM cant come down on their trucks i went with your competitor. Ive leased GM products for a decade. I dont think the best buisness plan is to price hike so customers in the future wont have used vehicles to buy. They will buy other brands just like i did. That happened 9/22.

General Motors GM warranty

I have been a loyal GM fleet owner for 32 years now, having purchased in excess of 40 new GM vehicles. With a new order currently pending and an additional one planed for the next 4 months. I have always had a good experience with your vehicles with one glaring exception. with nearly 4 million GM miles logged, I have never had a vehicle with a bad transmission, EXCEPT ONE, which has eaten them for lunch. This should be the subject of a recall no doubt as there is something clearly WRONG with the transmissions on the 2014 express. On Vin # 1GCSGAFXXE1146759 the transmission failed at 85745 miles. I had a new GM transmission installed at MY EXPENSE ($2922) in april of 2019. At 94905 miles THAT transmission failed and was again replaced with another GM transmission on december 5,2019. Now at 145,000 miles THAT transmission has failed. On your website, you claim to warantee your GM parts for 36 months/100,000 miles, but when this was brought to the local GM dealer Brennan GM, they are telling me that because the transmission replaced in december was a waranteed one, the warantee only applies from april and has expired. I am not happy. There is clearly a serious problem with THIS transmission/vehicle and should be the subject of a recall. Do I need to contact the transportation safety board to initiate one? And oh, by the way, if you HAD BUILT the one I ordered in june, (from Parker Chevrolet) like you SAID you were going to, this vehicle would have already been replaced, but you keep delaying the production date, so you have screwed me, yet again. Do I need to switch my fleet to Fords, in order to keep my business in operation? Sincerely Thomas Roberts President ECM Enterprises Inc. dba Ace Electric 20 Flanagan Drive Suite 101 Plattsburgh NY 12901 (c) [protected]

Desired outcome: Warantee the 34 month old GM transmission like your website says

General Motors GMC Acadia

Our GMC 2015 Acadia is requiring an entire new transmission due to transmission failure. It has just under 109,000 miles on it and has been very well taken care of. Research has proven that this is an ongoing problem with the Acadia; yet GMC has not done anything to remedy the issues with Acadia owners. So frustrating! Love the car! Perfect size, perfect number of seats, etc. but won’t be buying another ever again- and thinking twice before buying a GMC.

Desired outcome: At least some partial reimbursement for the new transmission- which is costing us 7,200.00.

Can i at least get an answer on when to expect the chips? its a shame to pay 80 grand for a vehicle an be left in the dark.

I am in the same boat. I purchased my truck in January, 2022 with the pormise that the chips would be installed within a few months. Then, it was July. Now the story I am hearing is that it may be into the winter. This is disgraceful. GM needs to be held accountable and/or Marry Barra needs to be fired. After all, she rose to CEO after serving in their supply chain division.

General Motors Warranty

2021 Silverado 5.3 lifter issues 12,500 miles on 9/14/22. Bad lifter on cyl 5. Dealer is tied to replace only one bank of lifters. GM customer service, which is probably trained at Taco Bell are just call takers that have zero escalation rights and give you the standard “24-48 hours until I get something on that.” Don’t waste your time, buy another manufacturer.

Desired outcome: Replace both sides
