unsuitable and defective fence boards
On February 13 of this year I purchased a pallet containing 416 ( ¾x6x6) fence boards from HOME DEPOT. The boards appeared to be of excellent quality with few knot holes or other blemishes. I was told by the salesman that the boards were redwood and had been treated with red preservative to protect the wood. My neighbor and I used the boards to install a 180 ft length of fence that needed replacing. When we were finished with the fence we were more than satisfied with the results. Within two weeks however, the boards warped to the point that many of them were out of alignment 45 degrees or more at the tops (dog eared end). And others were so separated and bowed out of shape that you could place your hand between the boards up to the first knuckle.
I took photos of the fence to the Folsom Home Depot and spoke to the Assistant Mgr and explained my problem. He told me that the boards I purchased were not redwood but something he called white wood which must have meant they were pine or fir. He said he refused to carry them in his store (Folsom, even though they did carry them in the Meadowview store, where they were purchased.)
My neighbor went to the Meadowview store, and was told by the Assistant mgr at that store that he couldn’t replace the boards because they had been nailed, leaving the impression that he might sell them to someone else if they were returned. He said the best he could do was to refund $287. I feel HOME DEPOT should be accountable for the entire amount plus the forty 2x4x8’s railings. I’m willing to absorb the labor cost of removing the fence, hauling it away and reinstalling redwood, (which I have already done because the fence was becoming an embarrassment). I have taken photos of the new fence.
I cannot help but believe that this has probably happened to other customers. We accepted the $287 refund and applied it to new material.
so many employees, so little knowledge!
Close to my house is a Home Depot and Lowe's and they're next to each other. My husband and I try to be loyal to Home Depot so we go in search of a particular portable utility heater. It is available on HD's website so we thought perhaps it could also be in the store. After one cashier directed us to the "correct" isle, there was no heater. Next, another employee led us to a few isles over stating they used to be stacked in a display but must have been moved. Eventually we had 2 more attempting to locate the item but finally we all gave up and figured such item isn't available in-store. The icing on the cake was the last employee ( I won't post his name) who was very unfriendly and never did understand what heater we needed and attempted to make it seem the heater was a specialty item/hard to find product. So...over to Lowe's and guess what? The heater was right where a friendly employee directed us and the actual person who works in the department was extremely helpful and offered us the opportunity to plug in the heater to give it a test run. My brother jokes that Home Depot employs many weekend warriors -folks who have other jobs during the week and work there on the weekend and have no clue what's going on in the store.
bullied by a hd manager
My name is Robert A. Casaletto, 79 Cooledge St. Revere, MA 02151. Me and my wife where shopping at the home depot in chelsea massachusetts. we noticed an employee that was following us around and watching us closely. Her and another employee kept asking if they could help us in a very weird tone. me and my wife were very uncomfortable with this and we were followed for about 30 minutes...it was a very unpleasant experience. when we checked out and loaded my truck, i notice the employee go up to the register as soon as we walked out... my wife started saying too me she felt very upset, felt judged, and targeted like we were theives or something...
i went in and asked if i could speak to her for a moment and told her she made me and my wife feel unusually uncomfortable...before i could get another word in she abruptly interrupted me and said she was there to straighten out the strore and thats what she's gonna do...i replied by saying that she could do that without making us feel uncomfortable and what do we have to do with store problems...we are customers.
i told her i was gonna file a complaint and that she's passing judgement on people and acting very unprofessionally...bottom line...i have been a loyal customer of home depot for approx. 10 yrs now...i am a general contractor, 42 yrs old, 3 children, and go to church every sunday, and live an honest life...my company name is casaletto construction...i have a website...casalettoconstruction.com. i am also in home depots computer system for purchase history. me and my wife both have credit card accounts. i am in the chelsea store everyday and know many employees there who all make we feel welcome and know i am a good home depost customer...i spend 100, 000 of thousands of dollars between me and my customers that i send to buy stock for work i do for them.
Me and my wife have never felt so insulted and offended and so umcomfortably upset in any home depot store befor until encountering this employee. She basically was watching to see if we were up to no good...i never stole even a screw from home depot...we were extremely offended. And, when i approached her, all i was looking for was an apology and the lady pretty much said oh well deal with it... i also noticed her tone with other employees who have worked with the store for many many years and work hard for the company. i am almost scared to go back to that store. i have anxiety about another comfrontation and this whole situation of me being followed and watch in the store was wrong.
Anyways, i left but asked for her name, ...she laughed at me and said sure no problem her you go and i left.. i really never have been so insulted in my life...me and my wife went home upset... i do so much business with that store... since it's very close to my home. sad part is she will probably get away with it... well i hope not.. i am a hard working christian family man...i am sending you this because the employee i am talking about needs to be seriously reprimanded and if she worked for me i would fire her. seems like the authority is going to her head...we did nothing to deserve being put in this situation... Please for the sake of righteousness do something about this cuz i need that location store because i based much of my time schedules on that store and relocating to another store would create tremendous hardship.
Her name is Robin D. [protected]@home depot.com and she is not acting the way home depot trains there managers...i know cuz i used to work for home depot and she acted way out of the guidlines of customer relations.
Your a drug addict thats why you were paranoid. Google his name arrested last week for beating up his wife and new born baby. Biggest junkie in Revere just ask the police. You are just looking for monetary gain. Get a life, get a job and pay your child support. Oh thats right you work but you don't pay taxes. You 2 are unbelievable. Just like the time your wife called you from inside a closet. And someone hacked your internet accounts. Go to REHAB and someone call DSS .

"and go to church every sunday, "
I love it when people feel the need to add that in when defending themselves. As of by saying that we are all going to say "oh you go to church, well that changes everything..."
and this is obviously a plug for your business, considering you mentioned the name and website.
if this "Robin" does actually exist, she should sue you for slander for publically posting her name, job, and email address on here, as well as a bogus complaint.
installation
Purchased a GE Microwave from Home Depot. Installer caused about $1000 damage to house. After paying them $49 for installation they say it is my fault that I didn't tell them about the freon line being located where they drilled to install. Thought everyone should know that they may do the same to you. Think twice before buying from home depot.
See the website http://hidy.us/homedepot for. court filing paper information. See site for pictures and repairs

hires substandard sub contractors
After years of anticipation I finally ordered my new kitchen from Home Depot. I got Thomasville cabinets and a beautiful Staron counter top. It was all very pricey but I had waited so long. Date of installation was Sept. 16. One very old man and a teenager who smoked arrived. Immediately the installer, an employee of Greencraft who contracts with Home Depot, was upset because he 'installs' and does not 'remove' old kitchens. He treated me as if this was my fault I had a kitchen. He called Greencraft and they told him he would have to do the 'tear down' because the office had made a mistake in scheduling. This old man was visibly upset and when he hung up the phone he began pulling and tearing at my almost brand new Maytag dishwasher. I asked him why he was treating it like that and he told me he was ordered to take everything out of the kitchen. He continued pulling and tearing at the dishwasher door. I was so upset I called Home Depot management and one of their employees at home. When I went back to the kitchen he was still tearing at the door. I told him I watched it be installed and the men had screwed something toward the bottom. He then bent down and uscrewed it and pulled the dishwasher out. He also caused a leak in my water valve, shorted wires coming from the stove vent. He used screws that were too long and broke out into the next cabinet even splitting the wooden cabinet frame. Home Depot has since repaired all the damage this installer did but my dishwasher is still broken. A Home Depot employee came to inspect it and observed the latch has been broken as well as the door gasket. I am waiting for a new dishwasher. and waiting and waiting. There seems to be a battle between who will pay for it and all I know is I have $10, 000 worth of what are now 'scratch and dent' Thomasville cabinets and a broken dishwasher. Calls to Home Depot Corporate has resulted in...'Oh that's terrible. I'll call you next week and find out if this has been resolved." I have been told that the particular installer no longer works for Greencraft. That doesn't help me now. Home Depot never should have contracted with a company that hires such workers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I ordered a new granite counter top...when it was installed I found it was to wide, cuts were terrible and the sink cut was to big. Home Depot refused to replace the counter top and after three weeks gave me a check for half...I refuse to do any further business with HOME DEPOT.
incompetence and arrogance
I have a credit account with Home Depot, which when I logged onto their web site at the end of September 2011 showed a zero balance. I attempted to use the card on October 8, 2011 and the charge was dec lined due to a past due balance. Home Depot has apparently changed my account number and failed to bill me online or through the mail. This is not only irresponsible and incompetent; it violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act

vinyl fencing-special order
I Placed a special order for vinyl fencing at Home Depot Store #1552. On 09-07-11 I received a message stating the vinyl fencing I ordered was in and ready for pick-up. Went to pick up order same day and no one was able to locate the order at the store. I was told they think they see it but it's buried to come back the next day and they promise to have it sitting up front. Went back the next day 09-08-11, vinyl fencing was not up front and still unable to locate. 09-09-11 received a message stating that order was found. 09-09-11 picked up order. Got home with order and unpackaged and had damaged incorrect posts, no gate, and a completely different panel. 09-10-11 called Home Depot and was asked to take pictures and if I could bring back the damaged, incorrect posts and the completely different panel. I said I could than come to find out I had to take the car to the shop and was not able to return merchandise until Monday 09-12-11. Returned the order and they re-ordered. I was told to give the order a couple weeks to be delivered to the store. A couple weeks +++ went by and I have not received a call from Home Depot, so I called Home Depot on 09-29-11. Later in the day of 09-29-11 I got a message stating that the order was tracked and would be delivered today @ 10:00 by Freight Company and the other would be delivered by UPS at the end of the day. I received a message on 09-29-11 stating the special order has come in today and is ready for pickup. After work on 09-29-11 I went to pick up the order. I was there for 30 minutes and was told that all of the order was not delivered. The only thing out of the order they had was the 2 pickets. 09-30-11 Home Depot left a message stating that the order was tracked again and it would be shipped out today 09-30-11. 09-30-11 @ 1152 Home Depot left message stating BAD NEWS after got off the phone with USF shipping company he was informed they could not find the order at all and Home Depot would not here anything from the shipping company until Monday 10-03-11 and once Home Depot got to the bottom of this that they would ship the merchandise to me. I called 09-30-11 PM and talked to another associate there at Home Depot that was given to me in case if by chance the order came in later in the day. Nothing, I asked at the time if I could get reimburse some money back for this fencing and I was told I would have to talk to the associate that has been working with me and another time while I was at the store I asked if Home Depot was going to have the fencing installed for me free of charge (one or the other) I would have been happy with either, but I got nothing out of this except a bigger percentage of grass I will have to replace. The purpose of this vinyl fence was to block the dog's from getting on the sod that I just recently laid, and at the time of the order the employee that entered the order said delivery say's four weeks, but they give more time on delivery than what it really take, because it was really a concern to me to have to wait that long. He said it would be more like two weeks. So I was ok with that. Finally 10-11-11 I received a call from Home Depot stating the special order is there at the store ready for pick-up. No delivery. scam
I purchased an LG refrigerator at the Forest Park Home Depot on November 28th and with it was given a delivery date of 19 December.
On 17 December, only two days before the delivery date, I was finally called and told the refrigerator was on back order and they would have to call me in a few days to schedule a new delivery date. They said they "might" be able to move one from another delivery warehouse, and then reschedule.
I went into the Home Depot to complain about the delay, for which I received no apology or offer of compensation for my time, and was there told that it had already been rescheduled for 26 December without consulting my schedule.
I was unavailable that day, so had to reschedule AGAIN, for Dec 31.
I was then called on 30 Dec just to be informed that they wished to reschedule the delivery to 6 January. I refused, hung up, went to Home Depot and canceled the purchase.
I had planned to purchase 3 other appliances from that store, but will no longer do so due to the horrible service I received.
The only thing remotely close to an apology I received was an explanation of how backed up the were due to unexpected Black Friday sales.
Back-ups on their end are not my problem, but theirs. During this entire process I was bounced from the store, to the delivery service, to LG, and back again.
As a customer, I don't want to hear how poor planning for the holidays, or a deficient shipping program doesn't allow sales to accurately plan deliveries. I want to hear solutions.
Only one person in the entire process tried to take ownership of the issue, and offered an apology. I would like to thank Ed at Home Depot for his Customer Service.
Bought YARD MACHINE @ Home Depot June 2007 after mowing for the 2nd time it quit steering in the direction i wanted it to go so i returned it to Home Depot after three weeks i got it back and tried to use it again after only a few minutes it would not respond again! Took it to a home depot in fort smith AR. They told me to take it to their repair shop after a few weeks got it back only to last through one mowing it now sits as a wasted $900.00 + piece of junk in the back yard don't count on Home Depot warranty.
installation of french doors
I purchased french doors that were installed by a subcontractdd installer October 2010. These doors from day one were installed incorrectly. The doors sagged and the the were misaligned. I called Home Depot to have the installer back out to readjust the doors to were he could not fix the problem permenantly. This was in April. In July Home Depot sent someone out to take pictures for the manufacturer. After sveeral attempts to try to speak to either Al the store manager Charkes the District manager, either one does not want to call me back and no one wants to give me a regionals phone number to file a complaint. I spent over $3000 on damaged doors and NO ONE at Home Depot wants to help!
That is just bad business! I will continue to try to reach some one who is willing to help.
If anyone can provide me a phone number or name that I can contact, that would be much appreciated.

assistant manager abuse
There is an assitant store manager who was transferred to this store. He was transferred there because of problems he had in another store. He immediately came into our store and started perusing everyones attendance record. He has singled out women, having tenured women who had been there 18 years and 13 years, fired. He then focused on me, a woman, and...

poor service
-End of April I brought in a bid from Menards to see if H.D. would match the price. Justin from the pro desk compiled a list of materials, and blue print for the garage (34'x24') and advised me that H.D. would be able to match the price. I sent his material list and blueprint in to the city of Shakopee along with my building application and waited for approval from the city. After approval, I met back with Justin to finalize the price quote (choose color of siding, color of shingles, brands of nails for nail guns, ect), it was now that he informed me that he made a mistake, and forgot to add in the cost of the 2 insulated garage doors. He told me the price was going to be 1000.00 dollars more that our earlier verbal agreement (the same cost as Menards quote). I wasn't happy with this new price. He then told me that it would be nice to have the entire material list that menards was going to send with their quoted price, so I drove back to Menards to print off the entire list of materials. I was told when I arrived at Menards that they were unable to pull up the list due to the amount of time that had gone by since I printed out the price quote, and that I will have to start all over on their computer, so that is what I did. I was suprised to see that after printing out this new quote and entire material list that the price had increased by a couple of hundred dollars, when I asked the pro desk at Menards about this price difference they told me that a few of the materials where on sale during the time of the first price quote (including the garage doors). When I brought this new quote back to Justin he advised me that he was going to delegate a co-worker to go through the material list, and try and shave off some cost by seeing what they have in stock in the store instead of special ordering it.
I received a phone call a couple of days later to come back into H.D. to review my options. The first option was Justins original order with non-insulated garage doors and an insulation kit. I passed. The second I was given was a material list that I was the same price as the original, but with insulated garage doors. When I asked how they got the price down to the Menards price, I was told that they found a bunch of the material on hand at the store, and when I asked if this is the exact same as Justin's original material list, I was told that is was the same...so I agreed to purchase this option. After getting home that morning, I realized that I never picked out the color of my siding, the color of my shingles, and I did not give them the brands of my nail guns...I just assumed Justin would have me come in and do all this prior on sending out the shingles and siding?
-The first load of materials showed up on a Thursday (mid may), when I got home from work on Friday morning I started digging into the materials, to set up the walls of the garage. It was at this time that I noticed there was no lumber sent for my double bottom plate, and no lumber sent for my top plate. I drove in to H.D. and justin helped me load up that material, he also told me that he was going to give me 10% off the price of these boards...which I thought was a little weird (I just paid for the entire garage kit...shouldn't these boards been included in that price), so I paid for the boards and left.
-The following day (sat), I noticed after opening the rest of the load of materials, that there were no framing nails sent with the order, so I drove back into H.D. Being it was sat, no-one was working that new the history of my order, and when I spoke with a manager, she said there is nothing she can do about it. I paid for a box of framing nails, and went home.
-Sunday came, and once again, I noticed there was also no sheathing nails in the order, so I went back to H.D. on Monday, and luckily Justin was working and gave me a box of sheathing nails. He told me it was H.D.'s fault and that I did not have to pay for them. He also said he doesn't know what happened with my order, but he will sit down and find out where the errors came from...I still have not heard any reasons for the errors yet.
-After my rafters showed up, my second material delivery showed up as well, and the problems continued. I was told that my windows that i wanted was on back order, which wasn't a big deal. I was short 4 sheets of CDX wall sheathing that I drove in to pick up. I noticed with this second order of materials sent was multiple boxes of single roofing nails (no coiled nails), which I took back, and I think 4 or 5 boxes of various length sheathing and framing nails, which I set aside with the intentions of returning when the garage was completed. I tried to go through all my material at this time and see what else was missing or sent to me by mistake. I found there was no starter strips for my siding, no siding nails, the wrong size roof sheathing clips (which I had to stop work again and drive in to H.D. to switch out), no tyvek, no rain and ice (which I just drove quick to Lowes and bought myself), no finish strips for the siding either. I called Justin and informed him of the items I was short and he had a truck come out a couple of days later and delivered the material. When I was sheathing my roof, I was short 6 sheets of roof sheathing and more sheathing nails, so I called Justin, and he thankfully brought those out that day (after I had to speak with a supervisor). While installing my fascia boards, I was short 4 10' 2x6's so I drove in to H.D. again to get them. Being it was a weekend, and remembering all the hassle I went through other weekends...I just bought them with out trying to explain to someone the history that has been going on with this order.
Upon opening the shingles, I notice they were not even close to matching my house, so I called Justin again, and he arranged for a pick up of the shingles. 4 days had past and still no new shingles, so I called H.D. again wondering where the shingle might be, I was told that they will check into it. Later that day ABC materials called me and told my they would deliver the shingles tomorrow, which they did. When I opened the boxes with my siding in it, I then noticed that the color was not what my wife and I had in mind. I drove into H.D. and asked if I could choose a different color. I was told that the siding I received only came in the color I got (brown) or white. Any other colors would be more money. So I guess we will be stuck with this color (I wish we would have been given the color option in the beginning of this whole process). While installing the sofit, yep, you guessed it, I was short. I called Justin and told him I was short 7 sheets of soffit, and one piece of fascia. I asked to get that delivered, he said he could arrange that in a couple of days. 2 days later I received a voicemail on my phone from Justin stating that he was going to deliver the soffit and fascia, and that he was wanting to pick up some more of the misc materials that were sent to me by accident, or stuff that was left over. He stated that I have close to a 1000.00 bill tallied up at H.D. and he is hoping to shave some of what I owe with the extra materials I have. I was unable to call him back that day, and no one was home when he came to my house that day. When I got home that evening I noticed that he entered into by garage and left the material he was delivering, and he also took with him some of the material I had in my garage. I have an idea of some of the items he took with him, but I am not 100% for sure of what he all took, and there was no note left either. I have not heard anything more from Justin or anyone else for that matter at the Shakopee H.D. since this had happened. I did not want to take this experience to the cooperate level quite yet, but I don't know what else to do. I still have to put the siding up on my garage, before it is complete, and hopefully I wont have any problems with any materials during this time.
I hope no-one else will ever have to experience the countless phone calls, and trips back and forth to H.D. like I did during this project. This experience is almost too embarrassing for me to tell anyone about and the few friend and co-workers that I have shared this story with have shaken their head with disbelief.

I was told by home depot that my granite countertop was ready three weeks ago, yesterday july16, 2008, home depot told us they would be here to install, we waited all day, they did not show up.
Now today we had to call the installers, only to find out they will not be here till Monday. We have never been treated so poorly by any store before, we will never buy anything at home depot that has to be prepaid. I hope this will help other consumers to be aware of prepaying for anything at home depot.

bad service
Bad services The paint department is always understaffed. This is the third time that I was not able to get anybody to sell me paint. I walked to the front desk twice to beg for services. Chris at the front desk called someone to serve the paint department. Nobody showed up. I walked back and forth between the front desk and pain department, begging...

bought new washer at HD, had it installed in May. All seemed fine til November when I noticed water puddles, soaked carpet in my basement near my washer/bathroom @ plumbing wall. Plumber found the condensate hose (from my furnace) dangling in the plumbing wall area. Apparently, the washer contractor had removed the furnace hose from the drain pipe to fit the new washer hose. So, I didn't know this until November when the furnace kicked on and started draining all over the floor.
Home Depot said they were not responsible for installs. The contractor said 6 months had elapsed so they were not responsible at that point, install warranty had expired. They were all very rude, said the actual install was not a problem. Had damage repairs and additional plumbing expenses. Very dissatisfied w Home Depot.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. Mind letting me know who the service provider was? I'd be happy to forward the information over to them and share your concerns. Feel free to email me details to stephanie_care@homedepot.com

theft
Home depot home installation sub contractors to install kitchen. Everything we moved from the kitchen lined the entry to our home. We had a large box of expensive liquors go missing. I will assume liability for this because I did not stand over them the entire time they were here. I never dreamed they would smile in our faces and know that they stole from us. I cannot prove it but I know that the box was in the entry before they started and it was gone after they finished. The contact individual does not return my calls. Lesson learned. Do not use Home Depot Home Installation because they contract questionable individuals and in the future I will stick to workmen in the home like a fly on crap.
Memorial Day weekend I bought six appliances from Home Depot, which were delivered the following week. When the Home Depot installers came, they advised they could not install the dishwasher due to the recent new kitchen flooring was hindering the old dishwasher to be taken out and advised I would have to do another work order to have the dishwasher installed at another time. Two days later I had a short power outage and noticed the oven electricity did not come back on. I called an electrician who checked and said he noticed the wires for the oven were not completed in the installation properly and caused the outage, which could have caused a fire. Also, the flooring company said there is no issue with the flooring as the dishwasher slides out easily, thus the dishwasher could have been installed at the original scheduled time. My email is goodlion1@gmail.com

kitchen installation a disaster!
We hired Home Depot for our kitchen install. When they started the install right away there were issues. The contractors they pay to service their accounts don't clean up after themselves. They left razor blades and little pieces of metal on our floor tucked underneath the fridge. We kept finding them even after a week and we have a 10 month old crawling baby! They delivered our countertop cut incorrectly. When we called them about it not being cut properly they said they knew of the issue and were going to fix it however 3 weeks later when I called again to find out when it would be delivered they said they were going to at that point put in the order which would take another 3 weeks for the company to cut it. Basically the hadn't planned on fulfilling their end of the deal because they hadn't even put in the order until I called to question them on it. Not to mention the one that was way oversized that they had already glued in place. Then we come to find all these other issues like the peninsula countertop has a hole cut out of the bottom of it that leads directly into the interior of our cabinets! They gave me multiple excuses for why I had a hole underneath like for example the hole had to be there because of our stove and if it wasn't there then the countertop would crack from the heat. So when I asked them why there wasn't a hole like that on the other side they had no reply. Then they said they would patch and fill the hole if I had a problem with it! Yes I have a problem with it! So I told them if they were going to patch it then it wasn't there due to the counter cracking because of heat! My problem being that I didn't pay $42.00/per square foot for them to deliver it cut incorrectly. Home Depot has treated me horribly throughout this ordeal and has even told me that I have issues because my expectations are too high. Am I wrong to believe if I order a service from a company and pay for my part that they shouldn't have to fulfill their obligation. Is this what our money gets us today! A bad job and extra stress living of having my daughter find something that can seriously hurt her! Seems to me that Home Depot is out to rip you off and if you don't have the money to sue them then they don't care and will continue to rip people off and leave dangerous situations for their families. These are just the major ones like I said. We still have loose outlets and pieces of the cabinet structures that aren't stable. They have said twice so far that they will fix these issues and 2 months after they are supposed to be done they have told me my expectations are too high and that they will not fix any of these issues. They have even told me just today that the silestone company that they contract out only cuts 35 out of 100 countertops without holes underneath them. Yet they continue to still use them to service their accounts! I can't warn you enough about the service you will receive from Home Depot and their contractors! Especially if you have kids or animals please beware of the dangers they subject you and your loved ones to.

kitchen cabinet disaster
Made a supid decision to purchase new kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. this project started about Feb. 7, 2011. Its June 23, 2011 and stil not finished.
Since I made payment in full, I got zero help from 4 different employees in their kitchen and bath department to iron out problem after problem.
First disaster, I was told the entire price and agreed and paid. But they left out the counter top from the order. I believe their intentions was to avoid quoting a price over $10, 000 to keep me from backing out of the deal. Two weeks later they ask me to come in and pay for the countertop. HUH? another $1200. somewhere, their employees or the Cabinet company American Woodmark screwed up the parts list, the home installer had overestimed more work than was necessary.
This led to many revisons of the bill and the HD employees failed to provide me with revised bills to track the price adjustments and refunds due to me.
When the cabinets were installed, too many parts were sent and the refunds on the not needed pieces were much lower than I had paid. but no explanation provided. the kitchen and bath people would not even talk to me. The expeditor at the store never ever contacted me. I was told she would be calling almost daily. so the cabinets were in and the countertop company tried to drag out the installation another two months. no help from the HD expeditor. American Woodmark sales rep's attitude was horrible. some cabinet doors were warped and needed replaced. Plastic shipping clips were impossible to remove to adjust shelf height. They should have supplied metal pins to replace the clips.
the installer made a mistake in the sink plumbing and the leak, bubbled up the surface of the sink cabinet and warped the side boards. and the paint peeled off from a leak that was no more than 16 oz of drain water.
My basic complaint is simple, zero cooperation once I paid the bill and the installation time was 3 months too long. I am due several small refunds, corrected refunds.
The installer was the only person who cared about the job being done right.
Follow up, Its been two years now, and no one from Home Depot has made any effort to contact me to straighten out the refunds I am dues. The doors on the American Woodwork cabinets are warping.
The dishwasher retains water and has a mildew mold oder.
And by the way, I have not spent a dime at a Depot Store since then.
service - bad attitude
went in to purchase an air compresser, and a whole house generator.
stood around 15 - 20 minutes trying to get help. Finally got help from a young boy that really could not answer my questions and went to "find someone". I was just left, no one came back. I went to service desk and made comment "I guess I will have to go to Lowes". The little girl replies back "OK, have a nice day". I guess Home Depot does not want to sell high ticket itmes in these tight times, but sends people away to Lowes...OK by me.

no patriotism
I am the wife of a deployed soldier. My husband opened an account with home depot while I was pcsing to alaska. He didn't add me to the account because it wasn't on his mind. Two months later, he deployed to fight this fight. I was told that I could not add myself to the account. They said he would have to call and do so. So he did, mind you I missed a phone call in doing so. They still refused to add me because my husband had no contact number to be reached by! I faxed my special power of attorney. I was told no, again! Then as I tried to close the account due to a lack of understanding on their behalf, I was told I would be charged $14.95! What is this?! We opened this account not because we need a line of credit, but because we are newlyweds and trying to build a credit history together. I will boycott home depot from this point further.

ive heard that pharse wandering. not a whole lot, but i do know that we were given checklists to do before every single deployment. when you go in the military, you learn to grow up very fast and take care of yourself. the ones that cant take care of themselves are usually the boots. or showershoes.
"locate, close with, and destroy the enemy with extreme prejudice"...ive always loved that quote.
semper fi wanderinghebrew. i myself was in the marines for four years. as wandering hebrew said, no special favors just because he is away.
what if i stole someones card and threw an excuse, "well, he/she is in the military in a far away land. ADD ME NOW!". if you arent the account holder, you have no legal right to do anything.
any responsible unit makes sure their marines/soldiers/sailors/airmen get this stuff taken care of beforehand. or even any responsible person would make sure their ducks in a row before leaving.
ive been deployed multiple time. i got all of my stuff taken care of before leaving including wills and direct deposits. im sure wandering hebrew did the same.
so, what seems to be the issue?
mower won't run
mower is one year old. would not start this year and took it to an ariens factory authorized repair shop on may 2, 2011. they have had it since then and every time I call they tell me that the carburater is on back order from the factory, which is in CHINA. Ariens says that even though the kohler engine is on their machine it is not their problem but kohlers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I purchased an Ariens 17 1/2 hp riding mower and was told blades free for life. I've owed the mower since Aug. 2010 and have only gotten one set of blades. I also bought the bagger for the mower and it's very cheaply made, grass falls out while driving everywhere. ( I do like the mower) I hate the bagger and no extra blades have been sent to
me
Did you drain the gas out of the tank before you stored the mower or at lease add Sta-Bil to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes?
If you didn't, then the gas inside the carburetor turned to varnish over the winter and just needs to be thoroughly cleaned out with carb cleaner.
A real mower repair shop would know how to do this instead of replacing the part.
Are they charging you for the part?
