managers
We seem to have a huge problem at store 316 of Kroger. It's completely unacceptable that our supervisor and any other department is never later or never misses a break, or lunch. We were not busy and my lunch was late by almost 2 hours. No big deal except it came time for my last break and I had it at 9:37 I then went home at 10. This is very unprofessional. We as courtesy clerks miss breaks and lunch yet they don't care. Also when I approached a manager she said I yelled and was being disrespectful which I wasn't. She's not much of a manager it must be nice for her to stand around and get paid to do nothing. She stands in the back on her phone which does not set a good example for her employees. After this she talked to me like I was not a person saying never talk like that in the store ever again yet I did nothing wrong.
age discrimination
I filled out an application online and test online for a position at Kroger/Smith's in New Mexico.
Received a call from Human Resources who interviewed me on the phone and then set up an interview with a store manager. I received several emails confirming my appointment and to arrive 15 minutes earlier. I was dressed more than appropriately and showed up as requested.
The manager was shocked I was there and said sher didn't have time and to come back 30 minutes later. First of all, that in itself was unprofessional.
I showed up 30 minutes later and still had to wait 15 minutes. When I was finally "interviewed" I was asked 3 questions. My last job (resume was in front of her) did I have reliable transportation and a reminder they were open 7 days a week. I assured her that I had no time constrainsts and had reliable transportation. That was the end of the "interciew".
I was told I would likely be contact by the Customer Service manager for a 2nd interview. Before I even got home I received an email telling me they were "going in another direction". I firmly believe that once she saw how old I was (69) she decided not to pursue it further. I firmly believe this is a blatant act of age discrimination. This job has been avaialble for some time.
Just because someone is older does not mean they don't need the money. I realize that the majority of the employees are young, older ones should not be ignored. I will likely never shop again at this store based on my treatment. This was blatant age discrimination!
I had a job interview last Friday and with the interview there were three other people two were under 17 and one was maybe in his thirties we all were asked two questions behavioral questions and once they that part of the interview is over we were told to wait and we would be called out one at a time so okay 10 minutes went by and I were was the first one called and was told that she was still doing other interviews and would be calling me but the other three stayed in there I certainly believed I was looked over because of my age I am 61 I believe that is age discrimination in my book. I am in excellent health and would do the job the same or better than a 17 year old.
I am sorry to hear how you were mistreated. Sadly, age discrimination is still rampant -- many productive, experienced and hardworking older workers are passed over based on unfounded ageist stereotypes !
Don't give up on your job search!
salmon quality and shrimp origin.
The last bag of wild caught pink salmon I bought was inferior quality and higher priced. I checked point of origin on last bag, and it was China, whereas the other I had been buying was from Chile. The Chinese product was soft, and fell apart when grilled, while the Chilean product was firm. Lower quality, but higher price. I incorporate lots of seafood, mostly salmon, in my diet for the omega 3. I also buy shrimp trays for family dinners, but after reading how seafood farms operate in Asian companies, I will no longer buy shrimp unless it is raised in safer conditions. So I have an 80 count shrimp tray I am returning for a refund. Thelma Bice, 504 Anchor Dr. Apt. 102, Lafayette, IN. 47905
store employee
I was shopping at your Baytown Garth location and an employee bumped into me intentionally and then said "excuse you". She was in uniform, had a brown ponytail and I believe that her name tag said Carlie. It was extremely rude and not at all how your employees should be treating customers. I will not be returning to this location because of this incident. I reported it to a manager but it didn't seem like anything was done about it.
possibly left a wallet at the cashier's check out and it was not given back or turned in to customer service.
On 12/26/16, It is believed that I left my wallet at the cashier's checkout but it was not turned in to customer's service. I had at least $67 in the wallet (I know I had a $50 bill in the wallet). I had no DL or no type of ID in the wallet. But possibly some Kroger's coupons. When I went back to Kroger's in Cleveland, MS around 6:30pm, someone did look in the lost and found but no luck. The person did not ask for my name or phone number, just in case someone had a change of heart and returned it.
The wallet was navy blue, possibly my work business card was in it and maybe a few more items. The person could have asked for my phone number and name and possibly showed some concern but did not.
customer serviceptable
I have been a frequent customer of Kroger for many years. I have always had a pleasant shopping experience anytime I shopped at Kroger. The customer service of the cashier Sadie and her co-workers was terrible. This store is located in Macon, Georgia, off of Pinion. I went to this store and instead of them attending to their customers in self checkout, their attention was geared towards conversing and laughing with their friends.
kroger starbucks
Kroger fired me for drinking a cup of coffee that I made for a customer and the customer said they could not pay for it so I had it on the counter and it was there for awhile and I drank some of it before throwing it away, after working there for three years as the manager and being fired over this it makes me question Kroger and how much they care about their employees.
rude employee
I had to go to service desk because my discount for soda didn't come up on register. Brad at Kokomo Indiana on Dixon rd waited on me, I've never been treated so rudely by any employee at Kroger. I spend a lot of money in that store every week and I will not be talked to like that. Whatever happened to customer service? I think those employees need training on the stress of the holidays and the extra people that come through there. He didn't even know how to make a refund, then he acted like I was in the wrong.
under filled product purchased
Hello, I love the Kroger brand Energy Drinks and usually buy them in the 2-pack but tonight I purchased the 6 - 2 fl oz pack. I opened the box and noticed the bottles had dried product on them, product dried at the bottom of the box, product dried on the seals of the bottles inside, and one bottle significantly lighter than the others. There is no visible flaw in the seal of the under filled bottle. Can you please replace the under filled bottle? I'm disabled and am unsure when I will be able to leave my home again. I have attached pictures of the product and my reciept.

I am complaining about I was wrongly accused of stealing
In December 2016 somewhere between 1-15 I was shopping in your store in Indianapolis, in on the corner of Michigan St. and Holmes ave.around 46222 zip code when a employee told me he had caught me stealing and had told me not to come back to the store.I had never seen the man before he told me about the stealing I told him he had the wrong person that I had never been caught anywhere stealing I left that day not thinking about it anymore, today I went to the store to shop and was in the self-check line and the manager David and the employee came up to me with other people in line and told me I had to leave the store because the employee had caught me stealing and had told me to not come back to the store I asked the employee was he sure I was the man he had caught and kicked out he said "yes he was sure".So When I left the store people were staring at me.
lack of customer service
On MonDec 12 at 4:17 pm I checked out at your Kroger Store located at 1440 Studemont St, Houston, TX 77007. The checker named Miranda was fine; however, her grocery sacker named Linda was not. First I had given Miranda my bag to sack my groceries - she was the only one at the checkout at that time - when Miranda came to sack she did not ask what I would like my groceries sacked in. She began to put everything in plastic bags. I stopped her and asked her to put my items in the sack I provided. She did not say anything but began to put things in my sack complaining that she did not want to crush my chips. I did not answer her as her comment did not need a response. When I finished paying and turned to leave she said "bye ma'am, bye ma'am, bye ma'am, bye ma'am" repeatedly to by back. When I turned around she smilingly stated to the next customer the checker and myself that "she loved it when people ignored her" implying that her way of paying the customer back was to do something annoying like calling after them bye over and over and over again. I asked her name and stated that I would talk to the manager. I went to the manager's desk and was referred to an assistant manager - anyone of many that were available - as the manager was in a meeting. I asked for the manager's name and was given his name but was told he did not have an email address. The manager is Charles Prestage. I told the Assistant manager what had occurred and he stated he would talk with Linda and apologized for her behavior.
I have very little confidence that any action will take place with your sacker as she was quite confident that what she was doing was acceptable and was not in any way concerned that I was talking with a manager. In fact she was quite gleeful in calling out one of your customers for her preceived slight.
I also have very little confidence in your assistant manager doing anything, by the way when I spoke to your assistant manager at least 3 other people came to listen in on the coversation - there was only 1 person at the desk when I called for an assistant manager - perhaps this is how you like to run your customer complaints by letting all employees listen in on everything? Or perhaps that underscores the continuing problem with customer service at this store.
Either way I have to say that this store has some of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at any of your Kroger stores. It is a sharp and unpleasant level of service in contrast to your 11th Street Shepherd store who always has great pleasant and polite checkers and sackers.
While your assistant manager stated that he would talk with the sacker I do believe that your regional or national manager should direct that this store personnel all be trained in customer service as they are all in need of training.
cashier
I went to Kroger 6055 old national highway 12/07/16 @06:01 . My Cashier was Bianca. I received cash of $100.00 . Cashier gave me a single bill. I walked away from the store to pay my kids daycare. At my kids daycare they informed me that 100.00 was fake. I was so em brass. Never once did I check the $100.00 because I had trust. I went to the store to request my money and the manager just wrote a report. That was Thursday. Its now Saturday and i called the manager on call have idea of my complaint. I need my money. I am single mom and dont have $100.00 to give. I am trying handle this correctly before I call my lawyer because I am getting the ran around. My name is Jasmine Moore [protected].I need this resolved ASAP
fired unjustly
I was hired on at the new krogers in my town, once other managers learned of past work experience they wanted me in other depts, I obviously chose the one that best suited me, but literally the day I was supposed to start that position I was called to the office by a manager (christie) that wasn't even over my dept and was told I was being let go, as I asked why she said "I don't know, but I'm sure you do..." I asked about the appeal option and she said there wasn't (which originally I was told there was?) Yet I still get emails as if I were an employee, I believe there was some tension between departments and I was fired unjustly for not going to a department the mentioned name wanted me in. As I have done more research I'm seeing a pattern of krogers arbitrary judgement being unfair to the employees. I want compensation by having the position I was going to work or unemployment for the unjust decision.
kroger brand products and seasonal commercials
I have been a loyal customer of Kroger for over 30 years, both in Sugar Land, and Houston Texas. I have found that more and fore of the traditional brands that I have used are disappearing from your shelves to be replaced by Kroger brands. While some of your products are OK, I am continually frustrated by finding that the brands that I prefer are no longer stocked. Eventually this will force me to go somewhere else.
I have also noticed the Holiday ads for Kroger avoid the mention of Christmas. I have a real problem with corporations that make money off the Christmas holiday and refuse to mention the word "Christmas". I have no problem with the celebration of any religious holiday and its traditions. I would have no problem seeing ads for kwanzaa, Ramadan, Hanukkah or any other. What I do have a problem with is the lack of the mention of Christmas and hearing "Happy Holiday" at the checkout. There are other places to shop and some may also avoid the mention of Christmas, however, the one thing that you will loose is my loyalty to your store.
cashier named - faye
I was shopping at kroger on s.voss street in houston tx on monday Dec.5th at about 630pm with my wife and children. As i proceeded to check out i had two shopping carts of groceries about $350 worth. When i got to the register the cashier Faye rolled her eyes twice and looked at the bagger and made a rude face. I asked if there was a problem and if zhe did not want to check me out i could go to a diffrent register. She got very angry started throwing my food in the shopping cart. Cussing amd hollaring and me very rude and nasty infront of my kid and other costomers. She was cussing and keep tellimg me to meet her outside to fight. She walked in and out store 3times screaming and cussing at me telling me to take it outside.. i was so embarrast and upset. I shop at this locaton 8 to 10 times a month for the past years and have never experienced this. This was very wrong and disturbing. Especially infront of children. I would really like to speack to corporate office about this situation. A coustermer should never be treated that way. The front end supervisor Ashley did not even appoligize to us. She just moved cashier Faye to another register. Very unappropiate
kroger gas station not 24/7
12/2/2016 11:02 pm
When I tried to use one of the gas pumps it took my alt ID and charged my card however I was not able to pump more than 1 gallon of gas my tank was near empty. Just to add the Kroger store a crossed the street is open from 5 am to 2 am.
The pumps at this gas stations had a 24 hour sign on them and there were 2 cars parked in the parking lot.
inventory
Kroger's in smyrna georgia on south cobb dr. never has kroger brand spring water, i have been 5 evenings in a row and only to be told they ran out at lunch, seems like you need more inventory and a couple of isle displays because the water isle is not large enough for the demand! Can you rectify this ongoing problem? I hate buying publix water but thats the only place i can get spring water.
horrible service and attitudes
I shop at the Kroger in Tucker, GA on Hwy 29. Just when I think things can't get much worse there they actually do. In general, most of the employees care nothing about the customer, exhibit poor service traits, and just don't care. They spend more time talking to their coworkers than the customer and act like you're imposing on their time. Getting help in the Deli is ridiculous. Other Kroger stores seem much better and try to help.
There are actually a few consistently nice employees but not many.
Yesterday, the cashier never greeted us or even thanked us for bagging our $200+ groceries ourselves. The only words she spoke were "this coupon is for the Reynolds brand."
The store has improved opening lanes when customers back up.
Management should be looked at closely because we all know which way "
stuff" flows. Apparently they tolerate this behavior as it never improves. Count me among the many switching to Publix where they do care.
Have you actually spoken with anyone at the store about this?
Lalalala.
service
Shop at your stores very frequently Northgate and Batesville, Ind. To begin with my daughter and I just left there a while ago. My issue No. 1 is your Meat Dept, allthough it was alittle busy, customers kept getting in front of others due to your number machine was jammed. I went over and fixed it, but still a problem because the worker ladies didn't change next person in line number, The workers saw me (TRY) to fix it and did nothing to help or advise me, Then it jammed again. I understand issue's occur but to blatently ignore them is unacceptable to me. So then I proceed to check-out, The Cashier man named (TIM) watched me bag EVERYTHING not even offering to help as told him I would like to be home for Football kick-off at 1:00. So not even saying a Thank you for helping, the cart is empty except for cola (4) on the bottom. I stated I had bad back and ask Tim to just scan them as usually they do, but NO, Tim says it makes it easier for him for put all (4) up on the counter so he could scan that way. That was the end of my temper but I never said a word, I just left very angry... Spent almost $150.00 so had quite a few bags to bag and by the way, PLEASE GET BIGGER BAGS ...Just telling I am unsatisfied totally from my visit there today. Jaclyn Waldeck [protected] Or [protected]@yahoo.com Please feel free to contact me anytime TY
Cry me a river. Honestly. If you are in a hurry then leave your house earlier. Your bad timing is no one else's emergency. Jeesh. Your arrogance is ridiculous.
barry powell senior co manager / rude and abusive language / unprofessional behavior
On Saturday, November 5th I was in Kroger @ 7427 Goodman Road Olive Branch, MS and asked to speak to a manager from the Floral Department. The young man went and got Barry Powell. (Senior Co- Manger). I asked if the roses could be discounted because they were somewhat brown. Barry Powell who is a Senior Co Manager reported to the young man that he was not going to tell him to discount anything. I asked him to talk to me and not the young man and that I was the customer. He told me " I Don't care who you are?" HE then walked away. I then told him that I didn't care who he was. He then walked back and brushed past me almost touching my stomach and chest with his side arm., and told Marcus, "You see this is what happens when you talk crazy to them. (with my husband standing there). He then grabbed the flowers and handed to the young man and said, "here man take your flowers and put them up." I asked him what was his name he snatched a card from the flower bowl and said, "here it is my name is Barry Powell and you have yourself a God bless you day (very sarcasm) I then asked to see another manager and was told that he was the one in charge. I then walked off and went to the front of the store to see the manger's picture. I called the store's phone and was told that John Rodriquez (the Store Manger ) was there. I spoke with him and am currently waiting to here back from him. This man Barry Powell seems to have a problem with women as I felt very uncomfortable with his remarks of "this is what happens when you talk crazy to them" and I am very concerned at his behavior and his training of the young man Marcus who is the Supervisor of the Floral Department. I am requesting a verbal apology from Barry Powell and I feel that he should be suspended for blunt and direct intimidating behavior to me as he was training his employee. What a negative and horribly bad example in customer service.
