I purchased the mower and it lasted all of 1 week so I returned it and did the same with the 4 others that I had to return for all types of reasons from not running to making noises and yes the mower had oil plus I have been in the automotive repair business for over 40 years. The last one that I had to exchange lasted 6 months and quit so I call the place...

Lowe's won't pay for damages

I work at a business that is located next to a Lowe's store. During a windstorm, several of their sheds blew apart, damaging several cars, some to the point of being totalled. We have all been turned down by Lowe's insurance company, they are calling this a "catastrophic" event. I understand a tree or light pole that is anchored to the ground would not be covered, but these sheds are not anchored and have caused damage in the past. We were just hoping to have our deductibles covered but have gotten a flat no from the insurance company. No one at Lowe's will discuss this with us. I am hoping someone can contact me so we can resolve this issue. There are many bad feelings that could be easily resolved. In the meantime, we are warning everyone that they could be injured if they are near those sheds when it is windy. They are fortunate that no one was in the parking lot at the time.

If you are buying any of Lowes appliances. Don't buy the extended warranty. TWO weeks ago Monday we called because of the dryer was not working and we bought the extended warranty they set up and appointment for a service call for the Saturday after the Monday we called then come Saturday no call so we called and were told oh we canceled that appointment because we do not service the Lexington area. We many times holding finally got in touch with the department that sets up service calls AGAIN. They finally set up another appointment for the following Monday and what did they do. NO CALL and they CANCELED our appointment again because THEY DON'T SERVICE THE LEXINGTON AREA. So now here we are the next Tuesday with someone supposedly coming out today between 1-4 only to tell us they are only sending someone to access what the problem is. WE HAVE TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER IT IS THE BELT! So let’s see it they show up today or even better not call and cancel our apt YET AGAIN!. Oh and when we called to get the corporate number to complain on how we have been treated. We were switched back to the idiots that did this in the first place and were told we would just have to deal with it they have a process they have to go through. I WILL NEVER EVER USE LOWES FOR ANOTHER PURCHASE OF A MAJOR APPLIANCE AGAIN.

Lowe's lack of service

Sir:
I purchased a refrigerator from one of your stores (#0482) back on 24 Oct 2009. I also purchased a 4 year extended warranty within. Back on the 14th of June 2011, the ice maker quite. I called the extended warranty number a filed a clime. As of this date the problem is still not repaired. I have records where I have contacted the warranty people and your executive support office. I was set up with an appointment date and time for them to out to repair the unit. When they contacted me to confirm the appoint, I was told that they could not come out then. This was because the appointment was set up VIA their web page and it was not current. I was told that it would have to be sometime the next week. I call the warranty people back and provided them with this information. I requested another company to service my unit. I was never contacted by this company. Si I called them back and this time they gave Jim Whxxxxxx repair service, who I know of. This company contacted me, but took some time to come out to look at the unit. I was informed that on the 8th of July 2011 the parts were placed on order. I then was informed Mr. Whxxxxxx had received the parts on 13 July 2011. For over a week we talked to Mr. Whxxxxxx and his office asking when they would come out to replace the parts. We were told several times they would be there, but they never showed up. I contacted your executive support office and asked for their help. After I provided them with all of the information I had, I was told that they would get back with me. The following is a copy of their response.

Mr ED,

Mr.xxxxx, I did contact NEW and was advised that the service tech has been out of the office sick for over a week. I was also advised that your part should be replaced one day this week. I do apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced and I will follow up with you on Friday, July 29, 2011.

Lowes Executive Support

I waited until around 2pm on the 29th of July 2011 and tried to contact them back. But the phone number of [protected] is NOT a number for your executive support office, it belongs to another company. I found another number and called. I talked to xxxxxx and was informed that xxxxxx was out to lunch and did not know when she would return. I requested to talk to you sir and was told that I could leave a message for you with them, but that you would NOT get back with me. I asked numerous times for this and was given the same answer. I stayed on the phone for quite some time waiting for xxxxxx to get back from lunch. I was also informed that only xxxxxx could help me out as she was the only one that had all of my information. But I was also told that I could provide them with all the information again and they would try to contact all parties again. I was then informed that xxxxxxx was back at last from lunch. First I asked xxxxxx about the incorrect phone number, and was told that she had mistyped it. Most people have their signature set up to be inserted automaticity. I informed xxxxxx that as of this time I have not heard from Mr. Wxxxxxx. She info mend me that she would get in touch with him and get back with me. I told her that I had been waiting all week for this and that I had other things to do. I left the house and was going into town when she called me back and said that Mr. Wxxxxxx would be there that night or on Saturday mooring. Well this never happened. Sunday afternoon at 2:31 pm I received a call from Mr. Wxxxxxx asking if he could come by and install the repair parts. I informed him that I was at a close friends home for their 50th wedding annaversy and I was not about to go back there at this time.
I have since gotten rid of the refrigerator and bought another new one.
In short sir I find that both your warrant service and your Executive support office are lacking in any support of good customer service!

I have a Maytag washer purchased from Lowe's (in Oxford, AL) that is 2 years old that needs repair. I have a Lowe's 5-year protection plan. I waited on "hold" yesterday for 3 hours 20 minutes to finally get to talk to an associate. Nancy arranged for a repair service in Weaver, AL (Quality Appliance) to come to my house in Wedowee, AL tomorrow (Friday, June 4) between the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM. I have a confirmation e-mail. Today, I received a call from Linda Haser of that repair service telling me they cannot come to repair the washer until June 14, 10 days later. I fear they then will advise they need to order parts, even though I carefully described what my washer's problems were.

That call postponing my repair service is totally unacceptable and unsatisfactory. I will not again go through that ridiculous wait to talk to someone at your protection plan service office, so I am trying this e-mail route to voice my very great displeasure with how we are being treated by your system. It appears the benefits of Lowe's protection plans are very questionable. I would appreciate a reply, hopefully with the repair date set back to tomorrow, June 4, where it was initially scheduled by Lowe's Service Advantage personnel.

Similar thing has happened to me. Does it actually matter to complain here? Does anyone know a consequential place we can complain? Looks like there are hundreds of these types of complaints against Lowes service online but no seems to have reached a solution. I filed with BBB as well. Maybe we can all complain thru that?

This is a letter of complaint regarding my manufacture warranty under my LG appliance. This product was purchased in July/2014 with an additional warranty coverage plan. On May 28, 2015 I called Lowes service and advantage [protected] to open a claim regarding my dishwasher, schedule a company service call. My appliance is making a high pitched whistling sound during the entire cycle when operating. I was given a scheduled date of Friday 06/05/15 with a company A.J. appliance service between the hours of 1-5:00pm. On 06/05/15 at 12:30pm I get a phone call from a representative with Lowes service stating that the AJ appliance was cancelling my service call scheduled last minute. I had already left work thinking that I would need to be in the home between the hours of 1-5:00pm waiting for service person to arrive. I was told by the Lowes rep that AJ appliance was over booked and couldn’t make my scheduled appointment. The Lowes representative then gave me a reschedule appointment for Monday 06/08/15 between the hours of 1-5:00pm with a company called A.E. appliance. I took this appointment missing more time off work. The technician arrived at 2:30pm, he was an older gentleman. He states that he heard the whistling sound when he first arrived at my home; put wasn’t able to hear it after awhile. I’m still hearing the noise as I’m standing right next to the tech. I turned off my TV, turned off house fans trying to help this elderly man hear this high pitch sound that’s clearly coming from my appliance. The man then tells me to call the service rep back and schedule a different appointment with another tech that he has hearing issues and can’t hear the sound the dishwasher is making. The tech gave me a receipt of his visit. The next day I called once again Lowes service line, explained what the tech had said to reschedule with another company that would be able to hear this high pitch sound this appliance is making. I’m given an appointment with A.J. appliance on Friday 06/12/15 1-5:00pm, the company was a no show!
I called the service number06/12/15 again asked to speak with a supervisor her name was Pam, I explained what was happening the cancelations last minute, no shows, sending a Tech to my home that is elderly and has a known hearing problem. The concern/complaint is written in my file as to why I’m requesting service a LOUD pitch whistling noise! The issue I have here is that this product is still under manufacture warranty and is covered, which was paid for by ME the costumer. This issue needs to be settled I am sending my complaint to LG services and to Lowes services. I have copies of all emails from Lowes confirming all scheduled or rescheduled appointments.

I purchased an extended protection plan on my Husqavarna mower. The transmission went bad in it. Lowe's arranged for a repair place to pick it up, which was very nice. They have now had it for four weeks and so far I am out $210 on getting my lawn mowed. Every time I call they tell me they are waiting on parts (first it was a belt, that I am going to have to pay for, and now it's a transmission) . Today I called for an update and when I told them that it has been four weeks and I needed my mower they told me that they could bring me my mower but it wouldn't have a new transmission. She said she had no way of knowing when they might get the transmission (when I order something, I sometimes have to check on it) and that they were so busy and backed up it was impossible to know when I could get my mower back.

Lowe's remotes do not work!

Wish I'd seen these complaints BEFORE I bought these fans! The model I purchased included a domed light which easily camouflaged the cfl bulbs. We purchased 6 of these for renovations at our new house. At 4 years and 4 months, not only has all 6 fan remotes gone out, but three replacements as well! Insult to injury, 2 went out within the first 30 days and - as much as I've always loved Lowes, they wouldn't do a thing...saying I'd have to contact the manufacturer. My only option was to leave a voicemail... needless to say, I never heard back even after multiple calls. I did attempt to report this to the Better Business bureau but was told, they could do nothing if they couldn't get the company to at least respond to the "inquiry".
Now I'm forced to buy yet another remote - at this rate I could have purchased new fans for what I've spend repairing these! Someone should put these shysters out of business.

Lowe's poor service

I have a Frigidaire Dehumidifier that I purchased from Lowe's in April, 2009. I purchased an added two year warranty on it through Lowe's. The unit performed wonderfully until a month and a half ago when the unit stopped dehumidifying. I called Lowe's service, who arranged for service. The service company didn't show up despite confirming the appointment. I phoned Lowe's who, after getting in touch with the repair company, said that the company had left two message indicating that the technician wouldn't be keeping the appointment. I don't know where they left the messages, because I never got them. I asked Lowe's to schedule the service again, but with a Different repair company. Lowe's did. This time, the repair person showed up on schedule. However, he indicated that there was no problem with the unit. I've been using this unit for 2 1/2 years! I would know when the unit isn't functioning properly. He indicated that I would have to turn the unit on, set if for Continuous for three days, and I would see that the unit is functioning properly. I explained to him that if the unit was functioning properly, it would reduce the humidity in the room from 50 to 45 in a matter of minutes as it always did. He insisted that it would take days to reduce the humidity by that level. He also had the audacity to tell me that he was going to tell Lowe's that the unit is functioning normally and that it was Lowe's option as to whether to pay him or charge me $102.00 for the service call! I the meantime, I've placed the unit in Continuous mode as he suggested, and my humidity meter keeps showing INCREASING humidity rather than steady or decreasing humidity. It's obvious that this unit is not dehumidifying at all. There is no water in the bucket!

Lowe's purchased with 2 broken bulbs

I purchased this light kit and a ceiling fan from Lowes. Model # 0317149. After the man I hired to install the fan and light kit he discovered that two of the bulbs were broken. Apparently, somewhere between the factory and the store, the box was roughly handled.
I would greatly appreciate it if the company would send me two replacement bulbs.

Thank you for your help,

On the recommendation of a Lowes associate in Cookeville, TN, we ordered a Whirlpool counter depth refrigerator from lowes.com (the store did not have what we needed). When it was delivered it looked like a reject from a scratch and dent store (filthy, dented, and unprotected by any packing or box); we sent it back with directions to replace it with a new...

Lowe's refusal to duplicate keys

The attendant at this store in the key duplicating area refused to copy a car key. I have never heard this before. The attendant there named "Bob", said it was against the law to duplicate car keys. I checked with Florida law, and contacted my local legal experts. They researched this issue and determined there is no law preventing anyone from duplicating their own car keys, including transponder keys. I was very surprised that "Lowes" is refusing business. I have been shopping at this store for 3 years, and live across the street. I did not appreciate the assumption that all customers are criminals trying to steal cars.

Lowe's 61 weeks without a kitchen

In April 2010, my mother purchased $11, 000+ of products from Lowes and has paid $1500 in Lowes interest for a kitchen that cannot be used and two bathrooms that do not have doors and drawers. 61 weeks later, and 20 visits to her house post installation, Lowe's has done nothing but discuss the situation. Meanwhile my mother who is a senior does not even have a kitchen sink in her home. Not only is my mother out an entire kitchen, bathroom vanities, and all supplies to renovate the three rooms, but she is also paying interest on her personal credit cards for products she can't use, eating every meal out, paying hotel costs for guests, and having to get various family members and professionals to spend their time trying to get Lowe's to respond and take action. They promise things, but nothing has been put in writing to address these problems.

Lowe's light keeps cutting off

I purchased a Harbor Breeze fan a few months ago, less than a year. The light fixture will come on sometimes and other times it won't. When it comes on it stays for a while and then cuts off. I felt one of the compointments and it felt really hot. What is the problem with the fan and light? Can I fix it?

Lowe's tax exempt transaction problems

Good morning, I do not think this will do any good, but I will give it a shot! Yesterday july 27th I went to lowes in meridian ms. I pulled myself and 2 employees off the job to go and get much needed tools for our profession. Spent about and hour gathering items and looking at possible thing we wanted to do later like build a tool room with stainless steel cabinets. After picking out about $2000.00 worth of tools we proceeded to the check out counter. I told the lady before she started that this will be a tax exempt transaction since I have a government credit card.

Lowe's are liars

They are not sincere with their business. There is no career advancement there. They will only advance you only when they feel like it. You can apply for all the positions too your hearts content, but they will not give it to. Even when you have the qualification to the do so. I have been with lowe's for 8 years. Really! They do not care about their employee's at all. They pay them the lowest amount possible. Decrease my hours! I might loose my house. They do not care!
They give you fake "thank you's", there is not sincerity in it at all.
Lowe's is a piece of ### for a corporation. I hate working there, but I do not have a choice. I am screwed by the world! This is america! Bull ###! May be it would be better if I died.

Lowe's poor quality of products

I purchased a complete kitchen of Whirlpool and Samsung products from Lowe's 13 months ago. 50% of the items have failed and broken already. The Whirlpool range was still in warranty, but the Samsung microwave was not. These were not the cheap ones, they were the items that Lowe's recommended for me. The quality of the products that they offer is extremely poor, and anyone purchasing there should be aware that they would be better off buying a cheap Chinese knock-off at a flea market. I personally will not shop at Lowes again, and I would not recommend that anyone else support this company that offers low quality at high prices.

Lowe's employment practices

To all that this may concern,

I thought that I should point out that the store manager for Lowe's of Little Elm has to be the worst manger that I have ever seen!

Complaint:
I was in line checking out when I heard some screaming. I looked over towards the exit doors and noticed what I thought was four employees having an argument. I later learned from the little cahsier that this was a store manager yelling at his employee in fromt of everyone. Yarvis Evens (? on last name) was cursing and using the most fowl language that anyone should ever use. The girl that was being yelled at looked like she was in tears and this man still just keept calling her an A#$ Hole, a DUMB A%$... etc. I couldnt believe it, never seen that unprofessional behavior in my life. This store manager should be fired!

I hope that anyone who reads this will go shop somewhere else and not at his store. The corporate office should hear about this.

Lowe's poor quality

Purchased a ceiling fan to only find out the motor was defective. Of course you can only discover this after you've installed the fan. I figure I spent about 2 and half hours between the purchase, installation and return so the least I could do is spend the same amount of time complaining on the internet. Sadly, the days of being able to purchase quality products are long gone simply because it is not in Lowe's best interest. They are only concerned about price and volume and with a business plan of build it and they will come you really have no choice but to do business with them. Really, think about it, the only alternative in most areas is Home Depot, the same poor quality and service but with a different color. I guess you just have to decide if you want to get screwed by Blue or Orange. The only problem is my screw driver broke last week. You can guess where I purchased it.

I had a ceiling fan from Lowes make my child ill, it was over heating and out-gassing formaldehyde. After being in a bed room with this fan slowly poisoning her for a few months, she began having seizures. We are still dealing with the aftermath of this 1 year later. Just like every other store alot of their merchandise comes from China if you go to any product recall site 90% of recalled products are made in China and alot of the recalls are due to this or that TOXIC substance being used in the manufacturing of the product. It should be unacceptable for the USA to have these dangerous products shipped in! Yes it may cost alittle more to have more things made in America but in the end we will all pay with our health!

Take the time to read the name on the box the fan came in.

Complain to the maker of the fan.

Lowes sell both cheap and expensive fans.

If you purchased a Sears Craftsman screwdriver, you could get it replaced for free.

perhaps you should blame the quality on the manufacturer of the item. your blaming a company that gives equal opportunity to all manufacturers by giving them the ability to sell that product in their store.

Lowe's shotty installation

Used Holmdel Lowes to purchase carpeting. Got the C team for the installation, horrid bumpy seams, bad installation along woodwork, uneven. Installers left carpet in the rain and in the dirt outside my home rather than in the truck. Aside from being rude and argumentative on site, when I complained the in store shill told me the reason for the poor installation was my house was full of boxes. WRONG. House was EMPTY. Go elsewhere to your local dealer and avoid Lowes. Had countertops installed there and that was a nightmare too but at least the contractor they subbed it to made it right.

Lowe's ask the experts, not!

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you of a unacceptable experience that I recently had at Lowes, the Brockport location.

I recently finished sanding and painting my kitchen cabinets and went to Brockport Lowes to pick up new hardware for our cabinets. Since I was there I decided to get some clear sealer for them instead of stopping at Sherwin Williams, which was where I got the paint. I asked the woman in the paint department for advice on which sealer to get for my newly painted cabinets. The girl that I asked wasn’t sure so she got someone else to advise me. I informed the second woman that I needed a clear sealer for my painted cabinets and she directed me as to which was the correct one. I purchased the sealer that she recommended.

The sealer went on clear, so since we have many children I sealed the cabinets that night so it would be dry when our children got up. The following morning all of the cabinets were streaked yellow and ruined. After I picked myself up off the floor, I took one of the doors, the sealer and my receipt back to Lowes. This is where the fun really starts.

I went to the paint department with determined calm and told the gentleman there that I had a problem. I explained that the sealer that I bought the previous day ruined my cabinets. He said that I got the wrong sealer, and I explained that I was given the wrong sealer. He walked away to get the correct sealer and a young woman who works in the paint department came over and asked me to describe the woman who assisted me the previous day. I described her and she said “Oh, well, she doesn’t know what she is doing”. Then she instructed me on why it was the wrong sealer to use on painted cabinets and what I should have used. I said to her that at this point her instruction does not help me much now that I have to re-sand everything and start over. She actually threw her hands up and walked away from me.
I asked to speak with a manager. I went over to the service desk and a very kind young lady helped me and I explained to the manager what had happened. He left to speak with the people in the paint department. After some time the manager called the young lady at the service desk and told her to tell me that they would give me half off whatever I needed to fix the cabinets.

Why should I have had to pay anything to fix the problem the your employee caused? At the time I was just too upset and frustrated to argue and I purchased sand paper and paint. Ask the experts? Are you kidding me? I spent the next 3 days sanding and re-painting all of my cabinets.

The worst part is that not once did I get an apology from the manager for the HUGE mistake that his employee made. We have many home and business projects that are in the planning stages and I can assure you that I will not risk my time or money again.

Not all of your employees are horrible, just 3 out of 5. The gentleman at the paint department was at least empathetic and the young lady at the service desk was very nice. As for the rest, why is someone working in the paint department if she “doesn’t know what she is doing”? Why do you employ someone who will throw their hands up and walk away from someone who has a legitimate complaint? Are managers trained to at least apologize for mistakes made by employees, face to face? If not, why not?

I hope that this at least gives you some insight as to what is really going on in your store. Maybe it will prevent someone else getting the wrong instruction leading to damaging consequences.

Thank you for your time,

Aimee Mesiti

It's kind of hard to fathom that people go into a major project like this without research and preplanning. Or reading labels.
