Repwest Insurance Company - Denies valid claims and gaslights customers
I brought to their attention the egregious acts of an undersigned/insured company via the MovingHelp.com platform and was gaslit about the claim, my interactions after being threatened by their insured and ultimately denied. I am a young woman and had no choice but to use this platform but typically had positive experiences and was not expecting a predator...
Read full review of Repwest Insurance CompanyUhaul rental wiring harness shorted out our entire truck, repwest denied proven claim.
Rented a trailer at Uhaul in Cincinnati. When they plugged it in, multiple fuses blew in my truck. As one was replaced another was found. I could never get the turn signals to work, multiple other systems blew. The truck would not start. The staff at UHaul was clueless. Bypassed the fuse to get my truck started. Took it to the dealership where they confirmed the harness was faulty and they wrote it up and clearly stated the cause of the failure was the harness from the trailer. REPWEST IGNORED THE MECHANIC AND DENIED MY CLAIM after they had to get permission from the UHAUL Regional Manager. So the certified mechanic was dismissed for a guy who likely never got his hands dirty. Then I find hundreds of complaints on this company for unpaid claims, fraud investigations, and lawsuits all over.
Recommendation: Avoid Repwest and Uhaul

Insurance policy I paid for
This is a completely fraudulent organization. I paid Uhaul thousands of dollars to set up a UBox and hired movers through Uhal to put my belongings in the box. My family consolidated our belongings to fit in a single box, so needless to say, every single thing in there was extremely important to us. When the movers took my belongings out of my house, they...

I am still waiting for Uhaul and RepWest to get their act together. Photos of my damaged property were taken my Uhaul manager and RepWest claims they have no photos of my damaged belongings due to a pipe leak last December. I am getting no where, I receive emails and no solution to the case. I have called them and get no where either. 😡 I might just take this matter to court. Uhaul manager (Hillside NJ Long Ave location) claims my photos of damaged property were sent to RepWest. RepWest claims there are no photos for my claim. I am getting no where. Rep West Insurance Company
I have the most trouble with connecting with my claims adjuster Maria Haig at Rep West. My car was hit while sitting perfectly still in front of my home. An unfair amount was sent to me as a part of the "settlement" with a comment in the pay stub to "negotiate immediately" which I did send an immediate reply to contesting the amount. I have yet to hear back from them. How is this a negotiation when they 1, never answer the phone, 2, never reply to emails? They make it so difficult for you to speak to anyone else. They handle business very clandestinely, which does not give me any hope that I will get a fair settlement from this BS company. Their insured hit ME and I get F-ed in the end
Hello. Thank you for your response. Although I am disappointed it had to cone to this in order for someone to reply, I was contacted today to resolve my issues. I will be happy to update the status to resolved once I receive the payment.

Insurance Payout
My vehicle was totaled by a U-Haul truck on August 14, 2023. My vehicle was parked at a gas station and the police have determined the incident was not our fault. My personal insurance has taken action and paid me for my full coverage, but I cannot receive my $1,000 deductible until Rep West responds to the incident and appropriately pays what is owed. Geico is the secondary coverage for this incident, and they have responded to me including text message saying that they aren’t able to get in contact with Rep West regarding the deposit. I also can’t get in contact with my Rep West representative regarding an update or a time frame for the deposit. Can someone reach out to me with an update?

USAA Claim Number: [protected]-800
Date of Incident: Aug 14,2023
Claimed loss: Honda CR-V 2009
Desired outcome: I was only paid $4,041.20, which is less than market value . I expect my $1,000 deposit gets paid back to me at a minimum. Potential settlement regarding loss days without a vehicle and vehicle search.

RepWest Insurance by U-Haul has Unprofessional Adjusters!
It's a waste of money buying U-Haul insurance by RepWest, and I will never use UBOX containers again. My furniture arrived damaged, I filed a claim a month ago for $10K of damaged furniture, uploaded all pictures, a professional furniture repair estimate, which cost me $275 and everything they asked for and what do I get? Totally blown off by adjuster Ryan C for 2 appointments and even when I emailed him and asked him to call, no response, and he doesn't answer his extension. Then I received an "urgent" email from Kyra L which went into my spam and I responded last week when i saw it, still no response or reply to my email. Seems like these unprofessional employees are into playing games with disabled Veteran Senior Citizens! I want to warn everyone about this company because it seems all the negative reviews are correct. I wish I would have read them before paying $250 for the crummy U-Haul insurance.
Desired outcome: I would really like my claim to be settled or at least reviewed!
I emailed RepWest, a supervisor contacted me, I provided more information and he turned it over to an adjuster, so it is being reviewed. I am waiting for a settlement. Thank you!

Repwest stalling my claim
On 08.19.23, A driver who rented a U-haul backing into my vehicle causing damage to the front fender and headlight. I'm thinking-okay, no big deal. I'll have it fixed in a week or two. I filed the claim that day. It is now 09.01.23 and I still don't have the estimate from Repwest to take my car in for repairs. As I said to the claims rep, I was in insurance as a Loss Control Rep so I know, it definitely seems as if Repwest is stalling my claim as it does not take that long for this process to unfold. As we are entering a holiday weekend, it will be 3 weeks or a month before they even send an estimate and approve the work. Repwest is causing me additional financial hardship. I want this resolved today so I can get the process moving.
Desired outcome: I want my vehicle repaired immediately and my car rental paid upfront as this intentional delay is causing great financial hardship and impacting my employment
Need additional assistance as this is still unresolved(sigh). I received an email on November 2, 2023 from the Claims Manager Jeff L. indicating that the supplemental check for $3,719.30 was approved and processed on that day. However, as of today, neither I nor the repair company has received the check. As a result, I still do not have my vehicle that was in an accident almost 4 months ago. I have reached out to the claims manager and am requesting that he facilitate them sending the check next day to myself or directly to the repair shop. I hope U-haul does an audit so they can see that these unnecessary delays by RepWest is costing U-Haul more money in the long run. Thank you for assistance.
And the saga with RepWest continues. I took my vehicle to the repair shop on Oct. 16th. They reached out to claims because they found additional damage on Oct 19 but have yet to receive a response. As this is causing RepWest to incur additional rental fees, I am surprised that they are ignoring the repair shop. Again, this accident occurred in August so perhaps you can nudge someone there as well.
Response from the Repair shop on Oct. 30: We have not updated you as we are still waiting on the insurance company to approve the supplement ( additional damage found) that was sent on 10/19. Once we have approval we will reach out to give you a better timeline. If you could reach out to insurance and give them a little nudge that would be helpful. Please let know if you have any questions or concerns.
It took 3 weeks to get an estimate and when it was finally received the adjuster's estimate was based on aftermarket products I’m sure you’re aware Most warranty companies and BMW repair shops won’t use aftermarket products. I advised the claims rep(Tammy) of this and she said the repair shop would have to negotiate with the adjuster. Why? Do the right thing up front so I can get my car repaired and serviced. I purchased this vehicle at the beginning of the year and I want it restored as close to its value prior to your driver hitting it. U-Haul & RepWest are multimillion dollar companies and are trying to finagle out of restoring my vehicle as close to its original state and impact my warranty. Because it took 3 weeks, I missed my appointment with the repair shop. At this point, the earliest appointment I have is 10.16. Essentially, 2 months without my vehicle because RepWest/U-Haul stalled my claim and the collision repair shops in the area don't work with RepWest.
Can you assist in getting an accurate appraisal and setting up an appointment with a local shop that accepts RepWest claims so I don't have to wait 2 months?
Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Uhaul safemove
Moved a month ago from North Carolina to Texas. All of my belongings arrived safely except my washing machine. It was totaled. Filed a claim and had a local repair shop perform an evaluation and give a repair quote as required by the claim process. That cost me $108. The repair quote came to 2700+ dollars, for a $700 washing machine. That's how totaled the washer was. Damage was indicative of a drop from a significant height. None of the contents inside the same container were damaged and Repwest is claiming (before I could upload the images and repair quote) that the claim was denied since there was no damage to the Ubox container. Exchanged emails with the claims adjuster and he stated that it was likely the moving help we hired that caused the damage. Only problem is that we didn't hire anyone to help us move. Clearly this guy is either looking at the wrong claim/reservation or he is working from a script designed to deny as many claims as possible.
I will be reporting this as insurance fraud. Taking people's money and then closing their claims before any data from the client has been added to the claim.
Desired outcome: I had to replace my washing machine. I am seeking reimbursement for that purchase.
Loss and damage of property claim denial
Last November, I decided to move from WA state to Boston area. I rented 4 boxes from U-Haul to move my house belongings and keep them in storage until I find a place to move into. I got everything loaded into these boxes and after it was done, U-Haul rep. recommended to buy insurance for the loss and damage of my belongings during move and storage. She did not give me any details and no paperwork but she said it covers against any losses or damages and I accepted her words. These boxes were moved around 3000 miles and kept in storage at Somerville as discussed but at some point these were moved to a different U-Haul storage facility within the state. I moved into a condo in the begining of June and asked for the delivery to my new place by a company hired by U-Haul.
On delivery and going through my contents, I found a few things missing and damaged. I contacted U-Haul and they gave me Repwest insurance company's telephone number to contact. I contacted them and gave them details of the loss and damage and sent them pictures as suggested. The loss of property claim was denied saying that I had my locks on the boxes and not tampered. I was informed that mysterious disappearances are not covered and fall under exclusions and sent me a list of exclusions on request. Well, following that list, nothing will fall under the category of losses and hence no claims will be paid.
On the damage claim, I was informed that boxes do not show any damage so the contents may have shifted during the move and that is again not covered under the policy. I made a point that only two pieces of furniture got damaged while all the glassware and china were not damaged in the move. Anyway, it did not make any difference to my claim.
I contacted U-Haul through whom I made the insurance contract along with the move and storage but they were of no help. In fact, the customer service person informed me that she is going to find someone who knows about the insurance process and put me on hold. She never returned nor anyone else came on the phone so after about an hour of hold, I decided to disconnect.
I feel cheated by both the U-Haul and its own insurance company, Repwest, for selling insurance policy without disclosing all necessary details required by law. I am therefore writing this complaint against Repwest and also the U-Haul who own this company. I would therefore like to request your help in resolving this issue. Thank you.
Desired outcome: Payment to cover my loss and damage to property
Not resolved. I submitted a response but that seems to have gone missing. As I said in my complaint, no information except verbal description of loss and damage during transit, storage and delivery was provided and no exclusions were mentioned. Someone from Repwest contacted me and informed me that nothing can be done due to exclusions. However, he offered to send me a coupon for $250 for use at U-Haul although I informed him that I would not be moving again at this age and hence would not need any boxes or moving accessories, etc. so this would not be of much use for me. He also recommended that I should negotiate with U-Haul to reimburse me at least 50% of the charges for insurance but that is something I will have to deal with U-Haul directly. From my last experience when I was on hold for more than one hour waiting for a knowledgeable person on insurance aspects, I have not yet managed to make the call- have more important matters like my wife's doctors visits and taking care of her at home.
Overall, I am not a happy customer and will not recommend to buy insurance from U-Haul to anyone as the exclusions make it worthless. Save your money.
As U-Haul verbally offered the insurance after the contents were loaded and informed that the policy will cover loss and damage for the move, storage and delivery which was done by the U-Haul contractors. I was never sent any information on the policy by email except that they have contracted with the company. And U-Haul charged me for the policy every month. Your assertion that I was sent policy details by email is incorrect- you may be under the impression that U-Haul must have sent it but they did not. I came to know about Repwest only when I contacted U-Haul after contents of the four boxes were unloaded and moved into my apartment.
Regarding the damage part, I had sent pictures of the two pieces that were damaged to Repwest representative who was dealing with this case. After the claims were rejected, I had both the nightstand and the chair fixed by a handyman and paid him $60 for both. The sleep number bed's pump and accessories cost $460 and if you want I can get a written quote from the company (if they will give me one as they wanted me to place an order at the time I called them).
Please let me know if you would reimburse me for these expenses. Thank you.

U-haul claim
I rented a self storage unit at my local uhaul storage about two months ago. Which at the time I declined insurance coverage. Once moving into my unit I noticed that there were very few cameras and that the roof of my unit was only wire I opted into adding the additional insurance for up to $5,000 coverage. I brought all my brand new work tools to my unit, so they would be more easily accessible due to the fact that I live a good 35 minutes from town where I conduct all my business. I revisited my unit around 2 weeks later to find half of my storage unit emptied. I examined my unit and noticed that the wire roof above my unit has been pryed up and held up by some kind of broom stick or pole for easier accessibility. I then went to the office and explained the situation, the man at the front desk advised me to make. Claim with rep west their insurance company and gave me a checklist of things to do so. I then called the local police station and filled a police report with them. Then continued to file a claim with rep west. Including all model numbers, the police report number and pictures. I just received an email informing me that they denied my claim which was more than the $5,000 they are supposed to cover in the event that this situation happens. They said that uhaul confirmed that there was no visible point of forced entry. When I clearly provided picture proof.
Desired outcome: I want the $5,000 that is in my policy to cover my losses from this event.

Handling repwest claim
This is the worst company/insurance company I have ever dealt with. I was using a uhaul service that provided me a private moving company that sent me two helpers so that my things could be moved into my new place. The first thing that happened with the movers was that they broke my desk right out of the uhaul truck. Then while moving my things inside, they damaged my wall and damaged my rug because they didn't bother using equipment to move heavy furniture. I submitted the claim and photos the very next day and although repwest was quick to reach out to me. At some point, they cancelled the claim without warning and completely ignored all of my emails, callbacks, and voicemails. I managed to get ahold of a manager and even he doesn't bother getting back to me. He made 1 or 2 calls to the private moving company but gave up after the moving company said they didn't do it. Apparently, repwest was only able to contact a front desk person and they were never told their movers damaged my belongings, so they've been denying the act. I also have the phone number for one of the movers and yet the manager wants me to reach out to them, to get them to admit that they broke my belongings. I will never buy any future insurance that includes repwest.
Desired outcome: I want a refund for my desk and for the amount it will cost to fix my wall.
Claim
I’m owed $500 from this insurance company after waiting months they finally tell me they’ve been waiting on the demand for payment even though it was sent January 5th 2023. I’ve sent it over again and nobody is contacting me back, nobody answers the phone, and nobody reaches out to let me know where we are at. For people that are in the office all day they sure do everything besides their job.
Desired outcome: $500 check
I’ll be filing complaints with the federal business bureau and Texas department of insurance if nobody contacts me to resolve this matter. I’ve waited months now for payment and repwest hasn’t been helpful at all.

Claim rep lack of communication
My husband, was in an Auto accident on Friday 3/24/23. He was hit by a Uhaul driver who drove off before Wyatt could get their insurance. So now we are trying to work with Repwest Insurance. We have been working with Claim Rep, Blake. At first, he was fairly helpful, until he stopped replying to any of my emails. I tried calling him by his given phone number and extension probably 7 times. Until I then decided to contact his supervisor Maria who also NEVER answered any of my calls either. Our other claim rep from Progressive also informed us that she has tried calling both Blake and Maria several times as well, with no reply. I was in a panic because Wyatts truck has been parked at our local Walmart parking lot since Friday and was going to be towed by Walmart. Repwest should have sent a tow truck to help us move his vehicle to a body shop by Monday the 27th, but we never heard from them. We had to take matters into our own hands and have a friend help us tow Wyatts vehicle to the body shop where it is now waiting for an estimate from damages.
It is very frustrating that not a single person from the company is helping us. As the accident was not our fault, Repwest should be claiming liability, yet we have not gotten any help. Not even a Tow truck. Only some emails asking for more information.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response.

Failure to pay insurance claim
My vehicle was parked and was hit by a UHaul box truck on December 7th 2022. I have a video of the accident and I have sent pictures multiple times to claim adjuster Devine Wallace. I have called her multiple times and she has never returned my calls. I have only received emails from her. I did not here from the appraiser until December 27th 2022 at which point they were going to finally inspect my vehicle.
Devine Wallace claims that they are still investigating the accident. I had my vehicle repaired after the appraiser inspected my vehicle.
I expect to be paid for the damages that were done to my vehicle through no fault of my own. As again my vehicle was parked and unoccupied.

Desired outcome: I expect to be paid in full for the damage done to my vehicle.
