DO NOT waste your money purchasing an extended warranty from Rooms To Go. Fortegra is the company that they use. They do not honor contracts. All they want to do is deny claims. We bought a sectional sofa for almost $5K dollars. Within a year of purchasing, we noticed a scratch on the arm of the end recliner. Something apparently was drug across the arm or something which caused a scratch/flaw in the leather. We filed a claim under our "accidental" coverage that state: Accidental Damage from Handling:
(b) Accidental punctures, cuts or rips to wicker, fabric, leather or vinyl caused by a single incident
We sent a picture and received a response that Our claim was denied because they "don't cover scratches". In fact, their warranty states that: WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
We will not cover the following:
(n) Scratches, rips, cuts, gouges, and scuff marks of any type that do not clearly penetrate through upholstery or the clear-coat finish on wood, exposing the bare wood.
The scratches clearly penetrated through the leather as our sofa is brown and all you can see is white from the padding underneath the leather.
Desired outcome: Repair or replacement of our sofa per our contractual agreement
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I been trying for a month for them to update each other on the matter of resolving my case. Rooms to go says one thing while fortegra has another thing. After spending a month and more than 30mins on average each time I called it got very very frustrating. Fortegra said they approved the claim while rooms to go says denied. This be the last time I buy nor pay for so called extended warranty. My contract says accidental damage such as cigarettes burns and spills. Guess is all talk and no word. Horrible experience.

do not spend your $$ buying in rooms to go. Fortegra extended warranty company is the worst company ever.. Their policy says that it covers everything mentioned above and when I call they tell me that it does not cover me because it only covers if it is a burn caused by tobacco or cigarettes. This is ridiculous

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! Spent over 20,000 on furniture as I had bought a new home. When my furniture first arrived the dining table came damaged. They had to bring me 3 different table tops to get a "new" one. If it was my first time recieving the items, they should be brand new out the box. But no I had to go through the trouble and constantly call for a new one and wait. Now come to today my dining room chairs have holes in them. I called to make a claim and the first lady didn't even want to hear it and saying what I'm explaining is not covered without asking for proof. I called a couple days later and spoke to a man. He actually helped me and told me to send in pictures. 9 days later and still no response I decide to call them today. The lady on the phone is trying to explain to me that because the chairs that have holes in them also have some tears they will not be covered because it is "accumulated damage". I have a big family and we are almost 3 years with this furniture. It is a sad excuse to not go by theyre warranty. They want to take your money but not follow by their own rules. I do not recommend buying from them or buying their warranty. They're are thieves. Rooms to go should find a different warranty company to work with because Fortegra is definitely not a good one for the price that I paid.
I made a claim on a ottoman that was basically collapsing. They sent a tech over and he told me they would get in touch with me to send a new one and I get a phone call from them telling me my claim was denied over a stain? Do not buy the insurance. Total fraud.
Purchased a sectional sofa from rooms2go and the frame broke in several places without the first year. We had the 3 year extended warranty/3 year guard it furniture service contract. They sent repair guy who started, I have gone to service 3 of the same sectional in the last. 2 weeks with the same issues. This is a piece of junk/ poor quality. Call them back and request replacement."
I called fortegra again and they were rude and argued saying, "you've had it for more than 6 months. We'll replace your cushions." I responded, " Furniture should last longer than 6 months"
Finally, mgmt agreed to replacement , but only within 30 days.
I chose replacement waited months to receive it, only to have the new sectional Brown/ / Archie Leather frame break again. I call to complain, this time I'm told, " You've had it for over a year."
To which I responded, " are you saying that your furniture is only good for up to a year? I told them that I wanted it repaired or replaced."
I was told that I couldn't get service even though I purchased the three year plan. Why pay for a plan that won't be honored? I'm thoroughly disappointed with Room2go's quality as as Fortegra's service.
I will never shop Rooms2go again and I will tell anyone else looking for furniture the same thing. What a waste of money!
I was very excited to use Rooms2go to furnish our brand new home, initially. Service was great until after I paid for and received my first set of furniture. I purchased my first sectional a Black/, gray and white tweed. It was really pretty, but the quality sucked! About 8 months in the frame cracked/ broke in several places. I called to complain and received an appointment for repair service. Upon seeing the furniture, the repair man said he'd seen the same set 3 times within two weeks. He called it a piece of junk. You could hear the sounds the couch made from sitting, He said call cuso service back and tell them that I needed a replacement. The first few reps were rude and gave me the run around. I spoke to manager and he approved the replacement after going back and forth.
We chose a second sectional and in a little less than two years, this sectional also has a cracked frame. We also have a 3year furniture service contract on this sectional. I call Fortegra Customer Service and receive the same push back. Rep advised that I have had the sectional longer than a year and Warranty expired. How does a three(3) year service plan expire after a year. I don't trust the integrity or quality of Rooms2go. It's been a horrible experience. I will never buy anything from Rooms2go again and I will share that sentiment as well. I'm so disappointed!
I agree, my husbands keys ripped our sofa and they told us it is not accidental, I was like well what do you call it then, he had his keys in his pocket and somehow when he got up, the keys scraped the sofa.

claim denied, sofa not even a year old, they wont cover a hole on the arm of the sofa, or wine stain... fraud
Don't buy the extended "service" agreement from Fortegra. The salesman in the store makes it sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread, but in my experience, it's nothing but a rip-off. RTG lures you in with their interest-free financing but you are probably better off buying from a locally owned business

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on rooms to go Fortegra Warranty. I bought a Sofa, Loveseat and Chair from them with the warranty. i was promised anything happened to the leather i was covered and would be replaced. i should have known better. Worse experience i ever had. i started noticing all my cup holders having cracks on them about 2 months ago but i dismissed it as not a big deal, then i noticed my leather had like a minor burnt mark on the sofa but i also had some minor scratches on the loveseat as well .When i reported it they sent someone to my house to look at it and next thing i know they denied my claim saying it was wear and tear. I almost lost my mind. I was getting ready to buy another set of furniture from them and now i just cancelled the order. I still want to see if i can sue them. I paid for 3 years with the what seems to be usless warranty. What a rip off! i will scream to the whole world so they know what fortegra is up to and post to as many of these review board sites i can find
The Salesperson talked me into a lighter colored couch because of the warranty. I have 4 kids and dogs, along with a child that is special needs and is incontinent when she has a seizure and their sales team stated how it will cover any accidents. I was also told they will replace it up to 3 times if they cannot fix it. So, guess what, my daughter had an accident on it and right away, I pulled the cover off and washed it, then called Fortegra and was asked where the stain was, well, there isn't a stain anymore, I pulled the cover off, however it's in the cushion. Their response was, we only cover stains, not smells and we don't cover human urine. This was made VERY clear that this was the main reason I needed that extended warranty. Then, I called again about a food stain, I was told the stain was too old to do anything. My back of my cushions are separating only after a few months of owning it and guess what, they don't cover that either. The decorative pillows are falling apart, they don't cover that either. Now, the actual wood is broken under the cushion, I don't even want to try anymore, it's a joke. I am still paying on this couch and ready to take it to the dump and vow to never use Rooms to Go again.
Is it "normal" for a couch and loveseat to lose their pattern in just over a year?
The fortegra warranty was sold to us by the salesman in the ocala rtg store as if it was "complete coverage" outside of manufacturers defects. not so! they said I could cut the furniture with a knife and it would be covered, spill wine or stain it and it would be covered, but if you sit on this furniture and the pattern comes off the material... that is what they call "normal wear and tear".
Are you kidding? I can cut it with a knife, mark it with pen and ink, but don't sit on it! just watch the pattern wear off (while i'm still making payments on this furniture). their inspector came out and didn't attempt to remove two stains, he took pictures, and they said "normal wear is not covered".
I have purchased furniture from them many times and had no problems. now what are we supposed to do? put furniture covers on the furniture, or are we suppose to stab it with a knife and write on it with a pen, and sling a nice bordeaux on it... maybe then they'll cover its abnormal wear! what are we supposed to do about it?
Hey there! We're sorry to hear about your furniture issues and we'd be happy to look into the situation further. Can you please email your order info and the details to TellUs@RoomsToGo.com?
