I was excited when I was hired by Ross, been shopping for years there. I was hired, thrown on the register, never trained and was not given breaks. I made many mistakes, I am glad the customers were kind because management was horrible and took pity on me. My last day there, weekend day, the only person for a long time on the register, had to go to the bathroom, long line, so I peed in my pants not able to hold it any longer. I quit after my shift was done. I was never trained, did not know procedures on the register.
glass vases
I bought 7 vases in your store yesterday 05/31/2019 and 2 were broken when I got home . your store does not have any kinda of protection for glass merhandice the vases were put in those plastic bags and you can't take out the bugies . I think I should be able to bring them back to replace my vases. I spend a lot of money in your store and this is not the first tome I have broken vases from your store I'm waisting money .

Two weeks ago, I stopped by the Ross Dress for Less on my way home from a business trip. I purchased a few dresses and two pair of sunglasses. When I was checking out, the cashier asked me if I wanted the sunglasses in the shopping bag. I told her yes and thank you. When I got home, 50 minute drive, I realized that the sunglasses were not in the bag.
I called the store and spoke to the manager and she stated she would speak to her supervisor about mailing them to me and that she would get back to me. I received a phone call that evening from the cashier who was suppose to put the glasses in the bag and she asked for my mailing address and told me that she would mail the glasses to me. She explained that the supervisor was NOT going to mail them herself. It has been almost two weeks and I have not received my sunglasses.

On Wednesday may 29th at 6:00 p.m. I was in the ross check out line after waiting for about 15 minutes several people walked up to the return line. There was about 20 people in the check out line. 3 people walked up to the returns line. The 1st cashier took the 1st return person. I waited patiently as next in line. The 2nd cashier who I learned later was the manager took the 2nd return person. That cashier manager then took the 3rd return person. 20 people in line, and when I complained I was told that's the way it was that returns just keep going 1st no matter how long the line was or how long anybody is waiting In the regular checkout line. I asked to see the manager And the other male cashier told me Alyssa was the manager, The cash you that took the to return customers in line 1st. I believe this was racial discrimination as I appear to be a gringo and everyone else was Hispanic. Last return I made here they serviced one Person from the return line and then the next available cashier serviced a person from the check out line. They make up their own rules According to who is next in what line.

I thought I would pay a visit to the new Ross in Clinton because it's new and it's in the area. I've never really been Ross fan, now I see why. It's terrible how the store wants to treat us... the shopping carts have long poles attached to them (a nuisance and awkward), there's a guy posted at the entrance wearing a shirt with Loss Prevention on the back in large letters and on the front above the pocket area (greeting people) when you come in the store, there are a million surveillance cameras all over the front portion of the store, at the dressing room they physically take your items and count them then issue you a number hanger going in and when you come out, and at the checkout area there are signs posted by each register that read "We check bills" only in the Black/Brown areas do you see this type of treatment. I feel offended and disrespected. This is a brand new store in Clinton MD that just opened a little over week ago in an area that has new developments in the range of $400K and up. I don't appreciate this type of treatment, I don't tolerate it, and I won't be patronizing this Ross Dress for Less again or any other for that matter. It's a shame that's how things are done by the store and district managers and that they think/believe its alright. When I spend my money in an establishment I expect better! Very disappointed and angry.

I am very dissapointed with how our ross store in victoria, tx is managed its honestly a joke.. I have a family member that works there and she works her butt off, is never late and is willing to drop everything to go and be at work.. Lately she has been having trouble with a few coworkers not wanting to do their jobs and shes having to do her job and theirs which I think is bs.. So she has been telling her manager about the situation with her coworkers over and over again but since they are all friends they get together and they give my family member the hard time and pretty much tell her that she just has to do it... My family member has always been respected and works hard she gets her job done.. Im complaining because the ross store in victoria is a huge joke with how they are managed.. If your gonna have a manager that is willing to lose good workers over workers who mess around and dont do anything then the corporate office really needs to double check who the hell they hire as managers because its a business and that comes before being friends.. I live 1 -1/2 away, I drove yesterday to your weatherford location, found a dress but wrong size. I took a pic of it to look at other ross stores for
it because it is for my niece; the other store I called ask for a number etc so the could very kindly assist me in looking via phone for it, I neglected to take a pic of the tag; I called the weatherford location this morning to see if they would mind assisting me in getting the number off the dress. An employee named sharon ans the phone and told me she was the only one there and couldnt leave her register, so ok fine, then I called back to ask if I cld leave the dress description & my phone number with her so that when she had time she cld call me with that info, well they are not allowed to call out, ok fine. Then I proceeded and asked her if there was no one else in the entire store that cld help me, she said (after she told me she was the only one there previously) that they were all busy and mgr was on conference call. Mind you this is like 20 miniutes after they opened. I have worked retail many years and I know at 9:20am it is not busy and should never be too busy to assist a customer! this really made me very angry, the customer is the one that takes care of employees pay. I feel this whole entire process was uncalled for.

I went to ross store at milpitas ca on jan 20th with my mom. Mom liked one of the crockery set and she wanted to see the size of it. Since I have seen so many open box items there, I opened that and shown it to my mom. After a minute or so, one associate/supervisor name trina came and told me "you should not open the items like this. This will be difficult for us to sell it to next customer again." admitted my mistake and I replied "sorry, I didn't know about it. I opened this because I saw other open box items." then this associate trina said : "this is not a walmart store to open the boxes and see it". I didn't say anything but just moved on with my shopping. After couple of minutes I saw she was standing couple of aisles away and stared at myself,
To my mom and our cart. Again I ignored and went on. At last I was there any front for check out. Trina was at the checkout attending customers for checkout. When it was my turn, she did not wanted to attend me, she turned her back and did not called next person (which is myself). By that time another friendly associate next to trina called me and I did my checkout. I was in my ethnic dress. This is a complete discrimination and unethical behavior for a store associate/ (I don't know whether she is a store manager or supervisor). I was purchasing for a special function and spent 137 dollars on that day at ross. Walked out of the store with total disappointment.

Ross is the only job that i've ever worked and left within 3 months. The management is very rude and 2 face their own HARDWORKING employees. All the managers do is sit in the office and when they're not in the office they are outside smoking or just hanging out. They are not helpful when you ask them to help or assist you. I live 45 min to an hour away depending on traffic and weather, and got angry if I called to let them know I'd be 3-5 minutes late. Even when they scheduled be during 5:00 rush hour. They are not very understanding, my grandmother passed away and it seemed like it was a huge burden for them to let me have a few days off to go to her funeral and help my family. Also we had a big flood and my whole road caved in on both sides of my house. I was stranded. The only time I've called In and Kim, the store manager, dale, the other manager and Kristy all got an attitude and made me feel as if I wasn't appreciated there. I will never work there again nor will I recommend anyone getting a job there. They half [censored] about everything they do and only care about scheduling they're favorite people to close the store with them so they can get out at a decent time. There has been times when I closed and didn't get out till 12:30 to 1:00 at night and didn't get paid for the extra time past the time of the store closing. Very dissatisfied.

Hello I visited your store on Black Friday in the evening I've been to the store before I just want to say that the dressing room is extremely dirty and filthy you could see that it hasn't been the floors have not been washed in a very long time possibly years you can see dust bunnies and debris on the floor when I was trying to try on the clothes that the clothes that I was trying on right when they hit the floor beat we're being picked up dust and debris from the floor dirt and filth the clothes were getting dirty from the floor I actually got sick the next day that's bacteria and germs the floor needs to be pressure clean with hot soapy water the walls it's disgusting I got sick the next day after being in your store I got a bad cold your store is dirty it's filthy the floors need to be washed properly and the dressing room needs to be washed the walls the seeds and the floors what is the point of buying new clothes if they're going to get dirty I had to stop going to your store cuz it's just too filthy especially the disgusting I'm not going to be able to go in there and buy clothes because I don't want to try them on the dressing room attendant said I'm the second customer who brought it to her attention

My husband and I went to toss to return or exchange socks, we were standing in line patiently waiting like everyone else. When it was our turn to go up, the Associate Amanda yelled out very rudely to come to the counter. Obviously she was upset about something, so we ignored it. However, when she asked us what we were doing, we told her that we needed to return or exchange the socks for other things he wanted instead. She looked at the receipt and stated it was not the correct one. Then I realized my husband brought the wrong one and I was like oh no, I even apologized and said well he didn't want the money back anyways, can he just exchange for other products and pay the difference? She then snapped back at me very rudely and stated she had already explained that to my husband. Then I was taken back by this because she doesn't first of all.realuze my husband does not speak fluent English and assumed he understood her and therefore I was trying to explain to her what he was requesting. She became very snarky and just continued to be rude in front of our faces and started making comments of how there are rude customers. She kept asking me over and over what I was saying and I kept telling her I was not saying anything. At the end of the transaction she didn't thank us and she walked away very fast before we can walk away and there were still people in.line. I tried to get her attention to ask for her name and the managers name, she just kept walking away. Then another associate told me the Store Managers name is Dixie, then she heard him tell me this, then she turned around and walked around to the outside of the counter to confront me and she was aggressively indicating her name was Amanda. So then we walked out of the store This experience was highly unacceptable and she was very rudely confrontational not only with us but also to her collegue. She is not fitted to represent Ross Dress for Less, she is very unprofessional. As a manager myself, I would never allow my employees to treat anyone in thus manner, especially to customers. This will ruin the reputation of this company if you continue to have people like this work at your establishment. I will second guess to go to Ross in the future because of this horrible experience I encountered tonight. Very unacceptable.
