my boss candy.
I had an argument with my boss Candy tonight on June 21, 2017 around 10:30p. I did everything she told me to do and even more like helping cashier put away their go backs. I did it even putting the right nubs for the go backs because Godly behold they can not put the right nubs on. I just do not know why they can not put the right nubs on to the respective size clothing. On top of that I sized and picked up dresses. Afterwards it was time for me to go because earlier Candy told me she had to cut my hours short and told me to close the fitting room at 9:20p so I can roll my two racks from the fitting room. So did that and more. Like I mentioned earlier. So when it was time to go she started to question me. Asked me if I picked up dresses? I said yes. Then asked me if I did lingerie? I honestly said no because she only told me to picked up dresses. Then she lectured me and told me it is my job to picked up dresses and lingerie and right then and there I asked myself is it my job to help everyone else with their jobs and not have anyone help me with mine? So I said I am not going to do it and I clocked out. After that my back hit her because she purposely stood right behind me. She threatened to write me up. And I told her if she does I will complain.
worker at dressing room and store appearance
The lady working in the back was very rude I asked her where the bathroom was she pointed behind her so I asked her if he was behind her where it said dressing room and she pointed again and rolled her eyes if she can't speak she should be in the back not out front she was very rude she was older woman not sure what her race was and store was awful
management and hr
I am beyond dissapointed with this company. I am an ex employee as well; and when i worked there I was exploded for minimum wage back in 2014. I have 8+ years experience in customer service and money handling. I did everything in my power to help them achive sales and goals and gave in to any schedule. when i got a second job they change staff and I couldn't get a hold of a proper manager. every time I needed to talk to someone about my schedule they point me to other MODs to the point where my 100% dedication was not enough to keep me there. I enjoyed this Job because thats my area of experience. Back to the topic, after a week of giving a difficult time to my second job {which paid me for my experience and gave me undivided attention} I eventually missed work and when I went back I got called into the office and was told i been terminated. it broke my heart because I am a good dedicated employee everywhere I go and its not my thing at all to let a company down but honestly you cant expect 100% from me if I dont get 100 from you. By the way I reapplied 2 months ago and I kept insisting and got interviewed 3 times in 1 month period only to be told its up to HR to give a go and after that i was never called again. i eventually cut interest after calling 3 times a week only to be told to call next day or next week. i tried helping this company with my skills but they just dont want it i guess and its not in me to hold grudges but never again Ross Dress for less dont deserve someone dedicated trustworthy and with leadership skills. i hope one day someone makes a difference not for me but for future business.
I am complaining about loss prevention
I was was shopping at this store Saturday June 17, 2017 around 2:00pm. I was looking for a wallet for Father's Day. I was standing at the rack where I was digging through pile of wallets and other stuff that did not belong there. After about 10 minutes of searching I find two wallets I go over to see which one my brother likes and to try to call my dad to see what style he prefers. I started to look for my phone inside my bag after finding it and spoke to him I walk back over to the rack and continue to search. I noticed the loss prevention man was following me then he was pretending to clean around me which I then said to him yeah that is awesome because I can't seem to find anything with all this mess little did I know he was spying on me and the woman he was taking about in his walkie was about me. I have never felt more embarrassed in my life. He told his Manager I was stealing he treated me as if I was a criminal when all that I put inside my purse was my phone that I had pulled out. They should never confront anyone about stealing in the middle of the store, he made me feel so dumb in front of all those people and on top of that I felt so uncomfortable shopping because he had been following me around. I will never shop here again.
bedding
Good afternoon,
I am pretty upset and concerned on a comforter set purchased fro My daughter for Mothers day, she just took it out and it seems like it was used the pillow shams smelled like soap, when she took comforter out it looked fine but when she got on bed and the comforter smelled like nothing but soap,
I want to know what can be done at this point, the purchase was made and the Ross store at Azalea shopping center 4675 Firestone Blvd. I am not sure if I still have the receipt but I will check, this is a very disappointing matter.
I have gone to this store about 4 times, I had another issue at this store I bought a few tops there went to exchange them and I was told I did not buy there when I bought them all the same day, and I had to keep a top that did not fit properly, uncalled for I think, not even store credit, and I know there is times they will give you the credit on a Ross card . But this case now of the comforter has taken it to far. Very disappointed !

unhappy customer and I like Ross I go at least a 6 times a month or more
lack of cash register and stocking employees in pflugerville, tx store
This is a formal complaint on the lack of employees at store #1326 for several months. On May 20th at 11:25 am, I went in the store and saw it in very poor conditions. See pictures I have attached. Also, there was only 1 cash register open. The employee at the register made several attempts to call for additional employees to help but no one came for 15 minutes. Yes, I was in line to pay for 15 minutes.
Today, June 14th at 12:20 pm, I went in to purchase 1 item and had a customer waiting to pay line and 1 employee at the cash register. I had enough and spoke with the Supervisor, James - who proceeds to tell me that they are short staffed. I told him, "what about you, can't you go and help at the register?" He didn't reply. Apparently, he feels it's beneath him or doesn't care. James was trying to look busy in the returns basket. There were about 50 people in the store at this time of day but 9 of which were actually in line for several minutes. The cash register lady was very friendly but you could tell she was anxious due to the line.
I have seen people leave there items in the racks that form the register line because they got tired of waiting. I've done this more than once as well. I wonder how much revenue you have lost because of this.
I would like to see more than 1 cash register open or a 2nd readily available within seconds. In addition, there needs to be better inventory and maintenance of the products. Many times the clothes are on the floor; trampled over by the shopping carts; then damaged. I shop at Ross at least twice a week and live about 3 miles away.
I am complaining about a employee named ms. tina
A employee named Ms.Tina. Tall blonde hair white lady. She was very rude to me. She did not smile or greet me as she was ringing up my items and when i was asking her about the hangers she was looking down as i was talking to her and she just was brutally rude to me. As she finishing she said NEXT ON 5. "No have a good day" or anything. As a employee you should take pride in your job and treat EVERYONE with respect. I hope i NEVER have her as my cashier again!
customer service on 6/5/17
I would like to file a complaint against store #1555 and Associate 445440. I returned some items to your store on June 5, 2017 at 1239 Austin Highway in San Antonio Texas. I had purchased the items previously at the store in Converse Texas two days prior. The receipt number is [protected]. It was approximately 7:05pm Central Standard Time. Four out of five of my items were returned. It was determined that the shoes I was trying to return were too worn to be refunded. My complaint is not about the shoes not being returned. My complaint is about the treatment I received from your associate and her co-worker.
I was poorly greeted when I came up to the return counter as if I was bothering the associate. The associate looked at me in disgust because of the condition of the shoes. She proceeded to ask another co-worker if she approved that the shoes be returned. The other co-worker also looked at me in disgust following her example. There were several people around us while they proceeded to discuss me and my return as if I was not standing there. The associate and her co-worker were unbelievably rude and judgmental towards me. The only person who treated me with any sort of respect was the manager who told me that she would refund the other items but not the shoes because they were too worn. It took three employees, a complete analysis of the shoes and me, and a third degree about where I purchased the items from (it was clearly stated on the receipt I provided) to come to the conclusion that the shoes would not be refunded. I wasn’t raising my voice; I wasn’t behaving rudely to them in order to receive such treatment in return. I also found it interesting that your employees were not familiar with a Ross store that is less than 7 miles from the one that they are working in. They looked at me as if I had purchased the items from Afghanistan not a store that is just 7 miles away.
I work in insurance. I deliver bad news to clients all the time. There is a way to speak to people without belittling them or speaking down to them even if you are telling them no. I shop at Ross all the time. Even the purse and wallet I was carrying that day had been purchased at your store. I think it is a shame that you have people working for you that come in contact with the public and clearly do not know how to treat them with the level of customer service that I am sure you trained them in when you initially put them on the payroll. Treatment like that costs you customers. I would rather take my business to another store than to ever deal with the two associates I had the misfortune to have handled my return.
I would also like to add that I normally shop at the Ross on 6226 Wood Glen Dr, San Antonio, TX 78244. I am always treated well there. Even the security guard is friendly. Cashiers, returns, and dressing room attendants are extremely polite and helpful. I made the mistake of going to the Ross on Austin Highway because I was in the vicinity and believe me, it will not happen again.
I hope that this feedback is given to your employees. Thank you for your time.
denied 2 hangers for 2 dresses
Today at the Tyler Texas store, I was denied hangers for the 2 dresses I purchased. The manager and cashier both told me, no. I asked to see the policy on that and the manager said there's not one, but she was told not to give out hangers. She couldn't understand that dresses are meant to be on hangers. I even explained, I was traveling and needed the dresses on hangers. I returned most of my items after that, the manager states, " that's fine". The manager didn't manage this situation in professional manner, she then rolled her eyes and grunted.
Lady, we reuse the hangers for our new shipment of clothes. We usually barely have enough hangers as it is because they break so often, we're not going to be giving them away as well. The company is super cheap and doesn't want us to be ordering new hangers often. Ross is a horrible place to shop, and you already know it, so just stop shopping there.
customer service
I was in the store seeking assistance thought I'd found it when i spotted this dirty blind.i approached her and before I could get what I was about to say out good she immediately said she was on her way to lunch.i was shocked she said it very ugly.yes i caught her name Amy if im not mistaken at the only location in the city now By the way my entire family shops here, well did..i will not be ret
lingerie
Good evening, I just wanted to inform you of how disappointed I am with Ross right now, I got to the baby section and the clothes we're disorganized, not placed in their right size, everything was just mixed together, I just couldn't find what I was looking for. Then I got to the lingerie section, everything was such a mess and the sizes weren't even on the correct pattern or on price range. Afterwards I go to checkout and as soon as I pay, get my receipt and pass the metal detectors the alarms goes off, I open my bags so the store manager can check and they said no it's fine they didn't check anything. Finally when I get home I see that the reason why the alarm was going of was because the person that assisted me did not removed the supertag ink. Also it was barely 11:10 and all they cared about was going home and getting rid of all the customer's in the store, they weren't definitely trying to do their jobs or give customers assistance. They just seemed real annoyed by the fact that there was people in the store. I'm requesting for my money to be full refundable + gas money since I have to return back to the store and give them the item that still has the supertag ink. Or you guys can make it up to me buy giving me a $500.00 gift card/store credit due to all the inconveniences I've encountered with Ross. If you are not willing to assist me I will go to the BBB, instagram, snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, hangouts, google+, all social media I know and let everyone know what your employee's customer service is all about.
racial profiling
One of the worst experiences at a Ross store ever! When I first walked in, I was amazed at how much the store was in disarray. The guy at the front door looked at me as if he was afraid to say anything to me. I admit I was wearing a cap and sunglasses(sunny afternoon in Vegas), sweats and a denim jacket with flip flops. However, I was wearing an expensive bag with my car keys in my hand, I was also clean. I thought I looked like an average citizen casually shopping and running errands on a Sunday afternoon. Oh, forgot to mention, I am a 5'2" Black woman, so I'm sure I looked threatening. Anyways, he then looked at the other people who were coming into the store and welcomed them. I decided to ignore his lack of great customer contact skills and continue looking around. I chose seven items and proceeded to the fitting room. I asked the dressing room attendant, who was staring me down as I was approaching, how many pieces I could take in with me to try on. Being a repeat Ross offender, I knew the correct answer was 8, but at this Ross, I saw no signage which is why I asked. She answered 4. At this I asked her where the signage was that said I could only take in 4. At this, she started to apologize and say 8, citing some excuse that she was looking at something in the distance which said 4. At this, I told her the price of my DKNY, leather bag, showed her my car keys and let her know how offended I was that she assumed I was planning to steal the items in my cart. She gave me the appropriate "7" card and kept apologizing and begging me to please not be upset. She also told me in her apology that they had been having a lot of trouble lately and so they are now very strict... I can understand a strict shoplifting policy but a flat out lie due to an assumption! I consider this profiling to say the least! I stopped responding to her and went into the dressing room. But then I came out and returned all 7 items to her and made a complaint to the manager there. I am writing this report because I do not believe anything will be done about it. I do not blame the corporation for these two employee's ignorance. I refuse to list the nationality of these two employees or what the nationality of the majority of the residents of the area were, because it does not matter. What matters is how I was treated and anyone who gives a darn should NOT visit that store and if you have had similar experiences there, please do not be afraid to be vocal about it!
customer service and store sanitation
Dallas, Tx
Wynnewood store location
3/25/17
I have just had the worst experience ever with a store in this chain. I love Ross I recommend it to anyone when asked where to get inexpensive trendy items for your home or simply cute clothes to wear. Approximately 85% of my wardrobe comes from Ross and 90% or more of my bags and accessories and the treatment I received today makes me less likely to shop at your establishments or recommend this chain to anyone.
To go in any department store that has a public restroom and its as dirty and unsanitary as this location is a shame. But then when there is no hand soap or paper towels to wash your hands and you try to let a team member or associate know and you're met with a look that says, "so what?, that's not my problem" and then not get address is beyond ridicules. I addressed the issue with the store manager and was told because someone broke the soap dispenser days ago she can only put bottles of hand soap in there but states the customers are stealing the soap ( never stated they were waiting for a new dispenser or anything and also never offered me any way to sanitize my own hands) but seemed completely unfazed about how unsanitary the store is without a way for the Employees or customers to wash their hands after using the restroom ( and this store was packed). I can just imagine all the germs floating through that store from employees who have to go throughout their shift and the customers walking through the store touching the merchandise. She did however state that she will talk to the rude lady in the dressing area.
I went in to Ross today with the intentions of buying my son a gift for getting all A's again and being outstanding at school. due to the unsanitary conditions of this location we left to go to a different Ross but they did not have the item he was looking at in the first one. As someone who spends hundreds of dollars a month in your stores throughout the year, for my family as well as gifts for others this was a complete and total let down. I really hope someone can see this and address this issue. There a way to many diseases and illnesses going around to be this careless especially in a chain store this size.
I am a woman who just resigned from ross
As soon as I started, I inquired drama with co-workers as well as the managers and store manager that worked there. I had barely started and everybody was so mean and rude to me to where I had to resign after just 3-4 weeks. I couldn't even enjoy work everyday, I got picked on and they made it very miserable for me to work there. This is the address of the ross i'm complaining about, 10945 westheimer rd, houston, tx 77042. The store is very unorganized and very dirty. They don't even put things in the appropriate aisles. I really would like for the store manager ashleigh as well as the other managers chalundria and jennifer to be fired. I told them about everybody picking on me and they let it escalate to drama everyday. I'm just very mad that I had to resign because I have a son to feed. Thank you
return
On February 28, 2017 I returned a pair of unworn Women's Nike Gym Shoes with all tags in place and the original receipt. The gym shoes were purchased approximately one week prior to the return. The Manager (Employee # 201582) kept my original receipt and instead gave me a store credit. I was in a hurry, so I did not pursue the issue any further.
The Manager (Employee # 201582) informed me that the shoes had already been returned, which was impossible. Instead of issuing a credit to my American Express card she gave me a store credit, which I did not want. I was in full compliance with the return policy and should have been issued a full credit back to my American Express card.
This is extremely poor customer service and I have been a Ross customer for decades. I would like to have the money issued back to my American Express card and you can have your store credit back. If the issue is not resolved, I will no longer be a Ross shopper and I will let everyone know about the issue that I had with Ross.
Furthermore, I had to witness the Manager speaking very poorly to another Ross employee. Is this how Ross conducts business?
pregnancy discrimination
My younger sister who is now 8 months pregnant was employed at Ross Dress for Less in Cedar Hill, TX. She was harassed by the manager and night shift employers about her conditions to work being pregnant. they lied about her having nose bleeds and made disrespectful comments about her and her conditions to work while pregnant. She was so stressed out she ended up quitting her job. Is there anything she can do other than file a complaint against Ross?
customer service
I was in Store #0113, Tallahassee, FL on today. I had a return. There were two cashiers standing in the area where it said exchanges. One by the name of (Cava) was counting money and talking to the one who had previously helped a customer. I stood there for 5 minutes or so and no one ever said ma'am we will be with you in a moment. A third one entered and proceeded to help me. I told them common courtesy of acknowledging me would have been wonderful. The Cava was rolling her eyes and then the other one started as well and murmured something about what the Cava was doing. They were socializing in my opinion while the other one could have gone to the next drawer. The third one did. I did not get my original receipt back. I told them you all need training. My original receipt was thrown into the trash. I had to go back in and asked the cashier what did you do with it. She said I put it in the trash. I was like I had three other items on there. The purchase was only a week old and had I not discovered that I did not have a receipt and needed to change the other shoes with a total of $80.00 then I would have been given a store credit. Train your people and tell them if they do not want to work to stay home. There are people who want to work. When stuff is not free and I spend my money in your store I want respect and should receive an apology.
cupio woman
I had bought a size 2X tunic of the above manufacturer for New years eve.next day after washing, it had shrunk 4-6 inches in length.in addition, it has threads hanging from the hem and sleeves, and looks worn and tattered.I am a regular at ross and this is the first time the quality has disappointed me.I am dissatisfied with the material quality.it cannot be worn again. I always use the same washer for all my knit clothes.if any washing specifics were required, it should have been mentioned.
unbelievable customer service (negative)
I was at a Ross location in St. Petersburg, FL when this elderly lady fell in the parking lot hitting her head. There was one lady on the ground keeping her calm, another calling 911. I walked over and asked if there was something I could do. The elderly lady asked me to call her son and gave me the number which I did. The 911 operator stated we needed to get a clean cloth and put on the back of the lady's head since it was bleeding. Seeing that she had just come out of the Ross store I went in and asked if I could get a cloth. They told me I could purchase one, which I did. The ambulance came and and so did her son. She was taken to the ER.
The thing that appalls me is that the store asked me to purchase the cloth instead of just giving it to me. It could have been written off. Then to find out later, the lady was about to take the cart outside with her purchases and was told by their security the cart couldn't go outside because they were about to close, which by the way was a lie. This happened on 12/12/16.
I immediately sent an email the next day, 12/13/16, to their customer service and got a response from a Sandra Ryan on 12/15/16 stating she forwarded my email to the District Manager.
I followed up with Ms. Ryan on 12/19 stating I hadn't heard anything from anyone. She asked me to allow 3-5 business days to be contacted. Well today is 12/31/16 and I still have not heard anything.
What an uncaring establishment! I hope for their sake I am not called to testify in a court case because I will and not positively for the store. The cloth I purchased was only $4.21 with tax included, it's just the principle. I forgot to mention when I went in the store inquiring about the cloth the cashier was snippy, another worker was just looking out the window at the scene and the security guard had the nerve to come outside after I got the cloth and asked if she was okay as he was proceeding to get in his car and go home.
I like Ross so I will go to another location to shop, but his location on Tyrone Blvd leaves much to be desired.
no price
I went to Ross store and wanted to buy a dress. I found a perfect looking one but the one I wanted to buy had no price tag. There were several dresses but my size was the only one left. So I went to the counter and took two dresses with me. I told them that my size did not have a tag so I took another dress with a price tag. They refused to sell it to me! They said that I can take the one with a tag but the one without a tag was not on sale! What? Are you kidding me?
I was so angry and in the end bought nothing! What they did is absolutely ridiculous!
