one cashier open at 7pm on a sunday night
Your 710 Bancroft Road location in Walnut Creek, CA had at least 25-30 customers in line with only ONE cashier open! Sunday nights are prime shopping times for customers and this store should be allocated more payroll to cover during peak times. There was nothing one person manning the self check out and ONE on a main register. With the California state law in place where customers cannot do self checkout when purchasing alcohol, it creates a need for more cashiers. Regardless of whether it's a payroll need or a staffing need, this store manager needs to pay closer attention to customer traffic trends and staff accordingly. There were customers waiting for 45 minutes in line. That's ridiculous. The new Ygnacio Road store never seems to have this issue and is amazing. My husband and I started going the extra few miles down the road to that one because we always are so frustrated with the Bancroft store. I have been in retail for 15+ years and this seems like a case of pure mismanagement.
safeway rodeo ca
I just got home from the Rodeo Ca 94572 zip code Safeway while I was there I thought it was disturbing to see a employee I know Lenard a mentally handicapped employee being heraised by other employees it was causing a big seene in the front of the checkout after Lenard left the employees were still laughing about the situation one girl a young black girl and the security guard were the ones picking on him I believe this is totally unacceptable and I've noticed lots of times in this store very unprofessional employees on personal cell phones while checking u out and using profanity more than once
floral department
I was at Safeway on 145 Jackson st in San Francisco 94111 and I wanted to buy flowers. I asked the cashier to ask someone to help me. Cashier announced on the phone for customer service to help me at the floral department. 10 mins later, no one shows up. I ask another gentleman who's packing bags to call someone for me. He did but still no one shows up. It's been 20 mins now. I told him to just wrap the flowers for me, it's not freakin rocket science. He said he won't, it's not his job. Finally when a customer service lady shows up, she starts attending others customers in line while I've been waiting for her for 25 mins to just WRAP FLOWERS!
Why the hell does safeway have a floral department when there is NO ONE to attend that department and it's customers! What a waste of time. And you need to coach your people how to help customers and talk to them! Worst customer service ever.
cafe order
Today, I wanted to try the breakfast burritos you sell for 2.99 for the first time and from the looks of the ingredients, it shouldn't take that long to put together. However, your associate was not even present in the line, showed up after 10 minutes even after trying to get her attention, let someone cut in line, took more than half an hour to prepare their order while gossiping the whole time not even seem to care for the customers in line, and then took 30 to 40 minutes to prepare 2 burritos! All the while, she was still gossiping with all of her other coworkers and missing ingredients such as sauce and veggies in our burritos! She even gave us attitude claiming that we are inefficient for not placing two order together when she was the one that waster an hour of our lives for being so slow and inefficient worker! This has been the absolute worst Safeway experience I've ever had. I hope you do something about it.
store customer service
Hi,
I would like to make a complaint about one Safeway branch at 8120 Beddington Blvd NW, Calgary, AB T3K 2A8
The morning of August 1st, 2017 I was at the Calgary Laboratory Services around 7:50 am and I had a 30 minutes till my time is up for the check so I though I pass by Safeway to get a fresh coffee and donuts and in the same time do some work related tasks on my empty battery laptop.
I waited at the mall side for Safeway to open their gate but it was 8:10 am and no body came to open the gate and all of sudden I started to see customers inside where I had to go from the other way and notify the manager (first name was Bill) who was standing there talking to someone and completely unaware of the closing gate at the mall side.
When I finally got to pick my two donuts, which were my only two options as nothing was ready yet, I went to the brown tables across the Starbucks and picked the closest one to the power outlet and I was shocked that no electrical current was running through the outlets so I complained to one of the employees who responded by "Will call a technician sometime to come and see it". Of course, I couldn't start my computer to do any work so I decided to leave the place and wait outside in the hallway.
new store needed
I am tired of going to the Safeway store at 3125 Stockton Hill Road in Kingman just to be told they are out of something advertised or they don't carry it at that store because it is too small a store. I asked for tofu for the last 2, maybe 3 months and have been told the refrigeration unit is broke (has been for months) and the items won't be re shelved until the cooling unit is brought up to correct temperature. When told they need a new bigger store the employee said they have been saying that for years but Safeway won't listen.
I'm not going to drive another 10 miles each way (I live up on Hualapai Mountain Rd) just to visit another Safeway. Smith's or God-forbid Walmart will get my business since they are closer.
I'll return when a new Safeway in open on my side of town.
deli counter
I was at Safeway store in Livermore. The same thing has happened at both stores. I was doing my shopping from 6:30-7:00am. EVERY aisle was full of boxes woth employees stocking shelves. That is fine but not one single employee apologized for me needing to move tumbled boxes as I couldn't get around the produce section. That area is big enough that perhaps boxes could be in one area. I then made my way to the deli I saw 4 employees prepping the salads and no one offered to help me as I waited for almost 1 minute watching them work. They mentioned needing to take a picture of the salads for management. I LOVE Safeway but its not very professional lately.
cashiers
The Safeway we have been going to is on 16th and Summitview in Yakima, WA, 98902. As someone that works as a retail customer service manager, I can confidently say that the cashiers at the location need serious work and improvement. Every single time we've been there over the last few weeks, we have left with an irritated attitude due to poor customer service attitude, extremely slow cashiers with very poor multitasking skills, not being greeted or spoken to, and have had items left behind. Our cashiers name was Denise, apparently is a manager, and was terrible. We waited in line for 10 minutes because she could not stop her conversation with the previous customer, even after completing the transaction. She then stopped halfway through our order to conversate with a customer in a DIFFERENT checkout line, and barely spoke to us. Not only that, we also ended up with purchases from the previous customers transactions in our bags, and rang up one of my items three times when I only purchased one. The workers in this establishment are horrendous, and I will not be returning unless I have no other option. The prices are high, which I would normally be okay with, but I don't definitely have no desire to spend that much money there and leave in a bad mood. I've honestly had better service at Wal-Mart, and that's saying a lot coming from someone that works for a different grocery company. This is the only bad review I have EVER left, I can typically keep my criticism to myself.
Sincerely, pissed off customer.
pharmacy
Store # 1492
Countless times we request a refill and are told in person about 30 minutes. 24 hours later it is still not completed. This happens 100% of the time. Twice prior we called it in via the refill automated line and it was never received despite getting assurances on the phone it was received. It did not get resolved for 72 hours. Totally unacceptable, We are switching to Walgreens.
elmiron purchase at pharmacy
I purchased Elmiron at the Safeway Pharmacy on 7/3/17 for about $713. I had ordered a three month supply and thought that was what I was getting for $713. The assistant pharmicist on duty did point out to me the cost but did not inform me that, due to my insurance limitations, I was only getting a one month supply for $713. I cannot afford to pay $713 each month for the prescription.
I called the pharmacy back on 7/5/17 after I discovered that I only had one month supply and the manager confirmed that the prescription sent in by my Doctor said a 90 day prescription but that my insurance would only let me have a one month supply so that is what I got. Other than that information the Manager was not very helpful.
I told the Manager that I would not have paid $713 for a one month supply and wished that would have been made clear to me. I asked her if their was anything that they could do for me but was told no there wasn't and that she would inform her staff to make sure that is made clear to the customer in the future.
Since I thought I was getting a three month supply and only got one month then that leaves me two months short. I desire to split the difference and that I should get another one month supply.
customer service
We live in California so as we were checking out after picking up milk and a few other groceries for a couple of days, we decided to purchase 1 bag for 10 cents. My sister was trying to swipe her Safeway card to get some discounts and rewards, and the lady managing the self-checkout barked at us, "Click 'Finish and Pay' and select one bag!" She had a rude, accusatory tone and treated us like we were thieves. We've been to that Safeway several times before, and obviously if we have a rewards card, we frequent their establishment often enough to know that it'll ask how many bags we bought. It was an unprofessional and irritating interaction. They've definitely just lost more than 10 cents in profits from me.
oatmeal cranberry cookies
How can a 2x in price be justified in just over 20 days?
On June 27 you sold 2 Jumbo Oatmeal Cranberry cookies at 5 oz for $1.29.
On July 17 you sold 2 Oatmeal Cranberry cookies at 4 oz for $1.99.
All this on top of eliminating the choice of a dozen of the same cookies Ina large box. Which amounted to $0.50 cents per cookie. Now it's $1.00 for a smaller one.
It is at a minimum disrespectful to your customers to 1) eliminate a popular choice (the large boxes were always in short supply) and 2) increase the price by 2x, and finally 3) not responding to a first complaint that I filed in the store.
unethical behavior towing customers cars
I am a customer of Safeway and they had Arrowhead Towing tow my car, because they claim there is a 1 hour parking limit. Which is not posted anywhere. I also visited the Dollar Tree and Burger King so I did not hear the page they claim they made in Safeway that I needed to move my car.
Arrowhead insists that Safeway asked them to tow customers cars that have been there longer than an hour. They claim they can not tow a car without the property owners permission and that it really is Safeway attacking its very own customers.
Do you really believe that there is ANY CIRCUMSTANCE that you can tow my car or any customer's car and keep their business. Some things are just common sense!
service
I have lived in Severna park for 40 years. We have haf great employees there. Some have come and gone even retired. You recently redid our Safeway on Benfield Rd.. WE ni longer get TO see the ladies that worked the register everyday for instance. Ms. Patty ( who has been there since i was a young child) ms. Hope and many other's. YOU have less people WORKING and VERy young kids NO LESS who don't care about thete job. I will tell you from someone who has shopped there pretty much her entire life, you are loosing alot of people . The ones who helped and really cared aren't really workinh anymore and it makes a big difference. BRING BACK YOUR LONGTIME, CARING EMPLOYEES. GET RID OF THESE YOUNG KID'S WHO COULD CARE LESS!
starbucks employee complaint
I wanted to order a s'mores frappuccino from the Starbucks inside the Union City, CA store. When I approached the counter the barista Veronica didn't come and take my order. For a good two minutes she conversed with her friends while I tried to get her attention. After ordering, I got my money out to pay while she pulled out some sore of binder. I gave her a minute, I thought she was looking for the price of the drink, but when I finally got her attention again, she didn't even realize I was paying with cash. After giving her my money, she took awhile to give me my change and just shoved it at me with a "here". No "have a nice day" or "thank you for your service" just handed my change and walked away. As I waited for my drink she began talking to her friends again, and when finished she said "here", turned, and continued her conversation.
The whole situation seemed very unprofessional, and I was very offset by the barista's rude behavior. While I'm not asking for her to be fired, I am asking that she gets more training or at least a lecture on proper customer service.
deli
Hi every time I go to the deli after work it is close. Last night I went to Safeway at 8pm and it was already closed. I asked an employee what time the deli closes and they said it is suppose to be 9pm but they start to clean up at 7:30 pm, by the time I got there at 8pm it was already closed with lights off. They didn't even offer to cut up some turkey.
haas avocados
This Friday's special on Haas avocados was supposed to be 5 avocados. I only received 4 in my bag... The store is 30 miles from my home so therefore I won't be going back to complain... I was really disappointed... I don't expect to have to check numbers or weights... But I SHALL in the future... Apparently you only pay attention to long winded complaints so here goeeeeees issssssss thiiiiiis loooooong enough, yes yes yes yes yes yes yes its a matter of PRINCIPAL ... YES, GROCERIES ARE EXPENSIVE ENOUGH WITHOUT BEING SHORT CHANGED IN THE PACKAGING..? NOT LONG ENOUGH YET? THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST, Michael Orr, po box, 763, Seligman AZ.
customer service
My name is Tyler Bodie
I was shopping at your store today around 11 am. I was approached by a manager and asked to leave. I asked why, he refused to tell me why so I walked away went to the customer service and I then told him I refuse to leave and asked again why. The manager told me he didn't have time to explain to me all he said was he caught me on camera. I asked to see the video and he refused. I told him to check my backpack and he refused. I have a physical disability which I have tremors in my hands which he made fun of and made A joke out of it. The manager then called the police and told them I was a shop lifter. Now the police never came but I did call my phone and when she showed up he told her a different story . He told her how sorry he was and said he believed me that I was not a thief. He said 2 ladies reported a young blond man wearing a camafloge jacket was stealing. My mom asked the manager did you see him on camera and he told her no she also asked did you search his bag he said not necessaries.
My mom searched anyways in front of him he again said he was sorry and he didn't know what else to say.
I believe I was discriminated by this manager because I have a learning disability and tremors in my hands
I have a full time job and I'm not a thief.

chevron gift card $50
I purchased my $50 chevron gift card at Vons store #2655 located in Los Angeles on 6/22/17. When I was ready to use my card on 6/24 it had a "0" zero balance according to the attendant. I went back to Vons where I purchased the card only to find out I had to contact the Safeway gift card department. I was on hold for over 30 minutes only to find out the gift card department is not available on the weekend. I left a message with Chris Ramos to have someone call me back on the weekday. However I did not receive a call so I called during my lunch at work only to find out that they did not receive any information about my situation. The lady I spoke with said she needed to open up a ticket and would need me to email my receipt and card with my complaint. I finally received a call from Graham a day later about my ticket only to find out they did not receive my emails. I finally had to fax because they had an issue with the emails. So after wasting a few days of my time to resolve this issue I received a message from Graham stating that they could not help me with my reimbursement and that I had to call Chevron to have this resolved. This is a total waste of my time. Basically they are saying too bad take it up with Chevron. I am so disappointment with Safeway's Customer Service. Why didn't they escalate this matter themselves with Chevron since they have a copy of my original receipt and card I purchased at that location. I am now having to deal with Chevron and who know's how long this is going to take. I just want my $50 returned or a new chevron gas card!

These scams are nothing new, and almost certainly have nothing to do with Safeway. Anyone can save their logo from the internet, and slap it on a graphic. They also could have downloaded that bar code image from anywhere. A cursory search on the internet shows this is a scam, and it's not the first, either. I've seen these for Costco for years.
I mean, didn't the terrible spelling, and incorrect capitalization tip you off? And that survey was garbage - if they were really offering a $75 gift card for a survey, it wouldn't be one with such lame questions. There's no information gleaned from it.
