I have recently been employed for Sam's Club for about a week now. I was given the job of the Cart Attendant. Let me remind you that i am I college student and I'm only working for the summer. This is my first job and this job is incredibly horrible. The Cart Attendant's job is to round up all of the cart, flat beds, and scooters in the parking lot, along with helping customers with carry outs. It is summer and i don't mind the 84 plus degrees outside. The horrible part about the job is being the only person working in the parking lot. I sometimes get help. THIS IS A TWO PERSON JOB! Yesterday I was pulled aside by a COS and this was basically the conversation.
Cos: We aren't having a busy day, so why aren't there many carts in the store for our customers?( as a Cart Attendant the parking lot is always busy)
Me: Sir this is a two person job
COS: I know
Me: Im doing the best I can sir
COS: This is your best?
Then the COS just walked away. At that moment I felt like I wasn't good enough, basically he said my best wasn't good enough. I was so worried about losing my job that I didn't take my two 15 minute breaks. I had to get carts in, I didn't want to get fired. The greeting people at the door made me go take my lunch because they seen me working so hard and I actually remember the lady asking me " Do you think you can take a break without getting in trouble?. I looked at her and I shook my head no. After lunch I had seen that there were carts for the customers because there were two people rounding them all up but as soon as I stepped back out into the parking lot "my help" went back in.
Earlier last week I was behind in carts (like I usually am because its a two person job) and I didn't receive any help until the store found out that Corporate was coming. When the store heard about corporate I was helped by the whole automotive section. I DONT THINK A JOB SHOULD BE LIKE THIS. I am sad to say that I am going to be putting in my two weeks notice real soon. I haven't even gotten my first paycheck and I'm about to quit. I didn't quit the job because it was hard I am quitting because it is Impossible for one person to work in the parking lot alone. Please take this into consideration.
Sam's Club PLEASE FIX THIS!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I recently applied for a Sam's Warehouse Club credit card and received an information letter that my request was denied because of "existing account with our credit program." I have no Sam's credit account.

True Blue Collar Worker, Dont listen to idiots here. Do what you have to do & good luck!
I was fortunate to work at a Sam's where we typically had enough guys to do carts, one when it was slow, two when busy. They do have some extremely unrealistic expectations in general in that company. I am working inside now and my manager will give me a list of things he wants done before I leave for the night. When I tell him it would take at least an hour or two past the end of my shift to get it done, all he does is give me a $#!+ eating grin and say, "you'll figure it out". Thankfully I recently got a job offer and will be putting my two weeks in. Sam's Club is not a wonderful company to work for, but if you are in a pinch, they do employ a lot of people who would not otherwise have any income. They, like their sister store Wal-Mart, expect too much out of their employees for too little pay. Granted this is generally speaking. Some departments are more reasonable than others.
worked at Sam's Club for about 2 years and i was neglected and forced to work alone in the rain granted i know what i was signing for but for people to ignore you and not acknowledged that you are trying your best. There was an incident where a coworker literately left the store and quit which screwed the whole store. its not about trying your best but the people at those stores don't care. i had one manager tell me that we don't matter because we don't make the money so yeah anybody who does not work at Sam's club before should not be talking. worst place to work is there and when you try to talk to them they see it as disobedience and cut my hours which left my other coworkers screwed. managers there just don't care only when upper management when they sent help so yeah that place just meant for people who make people money and cart guys don't matter. me and my co workers got written up for taking a break at the same time because it looked bad for the store but i didn't know we could not take a break during 105 degree weather all my guys worked as hard as me so yeah we all deserve breaks
