The restaurant wasn't even busy we waited and waited to be seated. With 4 or more waitress just looking at us. The guy that finally came to the door to great us had to clean a table for us to sit down as we sit and wait another 10 minute for a waiter finally the same guy came to the table said David in ur waiter You need to train ur employees to help ur customer when they are seated not when they decide to help ur customer
unethical behavior
June 5th at the Colerain ave., Colerain, OH location about 5:30am. I pulled up to the drive thru and waited at menu for at least 5 minutes and got no responses. I thought maybe the speaker had broken, so i pulled up to the window. I then sat there for another 5 minutes or so waiting for an employee. I saw an employee inside, she looked at me and continued to ignore me while I sat at the window. I was the only customer at the store so they were definitely not too busy to take my order or at least explain the wait. I would recommend looking further into this as i think employees at this location are simply ignoring customers when they don't feel like serving them.
rude employee
I just recently placed an order in drive thru at the location in Carrollton, Ga and before I got there I tried contacting the person who wanted me to order something for him. He finally got in touch while I was trying to place my order and it was kind of iffy and he kept going back and forth so in return I was because I was clueless as to what he wanted. The lady taking my order, I am not sure of her name but she was working when I placed my order at 1:06 am was very rude and impatient because I didn't know what I wanted. That is her job to be patient and provide great customer service and she did not do that!She was a light skin girl with curly hair. After she got an attitude, I got one and from then my experience at Steak n Shake was horrible.My two shakes were not even completely full!my guava burger was extremely cold and the meat was all torn apart! The cheese wasn't even melted, not even a little bit and the bun was ripped, but not too much and not warm at all either. Because of her attitude, I had an attitude with the young man (manager) who took my order, but it wasn't intentional because I was just frustrated and they were taking too long to assist me once I got to the window because I had some questions about my order. This is the exact reason I hate fast food because once you get an attitude people tend to mess up your food and I feel like that is what she did, sadly. Overall, my experience was terrible, but the manager did hook me up and give me a complementary meal to compensate for my horrible experience with a Steak 'n Shake employee.

My fiancee bought a burger from the steak n shake in Gladstone MO off of Old Pike Road and it was cut into pieces with a bite out one.😕
The manager was very rude also . He said his name is Freddy Jackson, but I'm not sure if that's a real name.
It was on June 4th around 8 pm.
I've been a waitress before and I'd be immediately fired for something like that.😕
None of my friends will eat there because of this. I have over 1, 500 friends on Facebook and this will lose you soooooo much business.
worst service i've had at a steak and shake
Steak and Shake has always been a go to place for my friends and I after leaving the racetrack late. Last night after leaving two of us headed to get Steak and Shake. When we first walked in we waited 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged that we were there waiting for a table. After we finally got sat at a table we sat at the table for 30 minutes and still had no one come to take our drink order. After waiting 40 minutes total we decided enough was enough and walked out.

I was deeply disappointed with the service I received at Steak 'n Shake tonight. First, when I pulled up to the drive up to order, I waited to be greeted and to place my order. There were 3 cars in front of me so I knew they were busy. I sat and waited patiently to be acknowledged but after 3 minutes I finally asked if anyone was there. I was then asked to place my order. I ordered 2 shakes with one of them being a chocolate chip cookie dough shake. What I received was not cookie dough. Instead, I received a vanilla shake with a cookie broken up inside. It had a gritty texture inside ice cream. I know some people would have been okay with this but not me. I was disappoint that I did not get what I ordered.
unsanitary conditions
My husband and I had lunch in the Leesburg Fl Steak N Shake. This is what I observed. Female employee taking cash sneezing into her hand multiple times and not washing while doing this and other tasks at the lunch counter.
Ladies room unacceptable. In handicapped stall toilet paper inaccessible from toilet as first roll was missing and second roll impossible to reach or remove. No paper towels or soap in stall . Also observed child booster seats improperly stored as straps were hanging on the floor (slip and fall hazard) near the restrooms. I was served 2 glasses of tea both plastic and both with cracks . Germ alert.

I spend 10 bucks on my meal from work, as did my coworker. My only meal of the day and when we pick it up there is a huge hair woven through it. I want nothing from you but for you to know this. I do not want free stuff or apologies. Ruined my dinner. Last 3 visits have been terrible and I have had to complain before years ago. This time me and my company are done with this place. Have to hit Burger King on the waY home. Thanks

Not sure I would want to associate your name with the location in Elkhart, Indiana. Took. 20 about 20 minutes for someone to even come great us. Then when we did eventually order we waited another 20 minutes before the guy came to us and shared that our food was just coming up. The guy that took our order explained that he is usually in the back. We then saw him go back and started making our food. Took another 10 minuses to even get our shakes. Our food came up and sat in the window for another 5 minutes before they brought it out. The we were never checked on after that. There was another table that also arrived at the same time. We got our food and they were still waiting. They said something and when the waitress went to ask the same guy he said he forgot. They walked out as I do not blame them due to the fact that they were just starting to make the food. I have worked in the food service business so I get when you get busy and overwhelmed but the guy lacks the community service and and just didn't even care he was losing consumers. I am writing on here to save reviews from online public forums. I can honestly that I will not be back there when traveling.

I visited the Steak 'n Shake located on fishinger blvd Hilliard Ohio on June 1st around 1 pm! After waiting 20 minutes n line b4 my order was taken n watching numerous potential customers leave! I placed my order n waited another 8 minutes b4 heading to the window! I waited for my order still! at the window was the cashier her hair n uniform or shirt was filthy this was the second time n the past month with a different attendant at window with dirty hair n a dirty shirt... I don't usually care but after waiting so long n then finding my food was cold I was not a happy camper😬 If the line wasn't so long I would of ask for my money back... I live n the area n I'm saddened to know this is how a business is ran! It definitely wouldn't win the clean plate award...

Just stopped at Steak n Shake off I-20 exit 194 in Augusta GA for my fry fix. To my horror, I got r egular thick cut fries. I go to Steak n Dhake for their Wonderful skinny fries. I am so disappointed. What did you do? I certainly hope this is not a permanent change. You do known that your burgers are good, but your skinny fries were great. I do not need to go to your establishment if you do not bring Babcock your skinny fries.

We were passing through Brownsburg IN on May 29th and stopped at the Steak 'n Shake on Maplehurst Dr for a quick bite to eat, quick being the keyword. It was about 9:30 PM. There were maybe 3 tables occupied. We were seated and waited and waited. 2 other families came in and were served and we were still waiting. No one even stopped to take drink orders or anything. They were all too busy standing back by the drink dispenser chit chatting. We finally got up and left after waiting about 30 minutes of nothing. Not too pleased!

We have had the most horrible experience tonight (may 29th) at steak n shake. there were a group of about 20 of us and it took 2 hours to get served and there were no other customers in the restaurant. there was 1 waitress and 1 woman cooking. I cannot believe that management would leave 2 people to run the entire place. we arrived at 10pm and left at midnight. we had 6 in our party finally walk out after waiting an hour. I cannot blame the waitress and the cook as they were trying their best. I blame management for such a poor decision. we were informed there was no mayonnaise, only a tiny bit of lemon and no coke. last monday our same group came in at the same time and we were advised there were no onions. we all love steak n shake but this is not good customer service and our monday night group will not be back. we will go back to perkins. you have lost out on a group of 20-25 every monday night which is not good for your business. our food took forever, our orders were incorrect, we never received napkins or silverware, we were charged for things we did not order and our 2 orders of chili never arrived. steak n shake should be ashamed. I do give credit to the black young lady who was cooking and also serving - the poor thing was working very hard and the food was delicious. it just took too long to receive it and you were missing to many items. we were advised by the waitress we should come on tuesday nights or friday nights when the delivery truck comes. no thank you. we are done.
coupons that come with $25 cards
I usually purchase a couple of $20 or $25 cards a month. A few weeks ago I gave the cashier one of my coupons for $5 and then realized I had given him one dated for June, when I still had one for about the middle of May. He had already taken it and told me that not to worry I could use my May coupon the next time I came in. The next time I handed in my May $5 coupon and the general manager for that region told me that it was no good because it had expired (2 days earlier) and said he had shredded it in the machine.
My husband and I go to the Steak and Shake on Redbug in Oviedo FL. at least once a week and I just don't understand why he acted the way he did. The manager of the store is always so pleasant and works so hard.
The general manager is not very pleasant at all and I still don't understand why he did what he did. If I'd have taken that coupon to another Steak and Shake I imagine that there would have been no trouble.
What an officious human being and not very pleasant about it either.
If it weren't for the manager who is usually there we would not return.
drive-thru service
Every single time my family and I come there (and we keep doing it for whatever reason), we get asked after every single item if that will be all. Maybe train them to wait for the customer to say that's all! I feel very rushed and like I'm putting them out. Maybe they don't know if there are no customers, there is no pay? Also quite often they leave out part of the order so now we check before leaving. Friday night when we were at the East Washington St location 46229 at around 6:15 pm, we got to the window, opened the bags to check our order and the girl at the window started tapping her fingernails, waiting for us to leave. Tired of paying for food I don't get, for service that sucks so I guess that's tough. Every time I order, I'll be checking my bag until you have people there that give a damn. Thanks.

We waited for 10 minutes to be seated. Than another 20 minutes for some to take our order. When the waiter arrived he said " are you ready" did apologize for the wait or anything. When we went to leave the waiter pointed out we haven't been leaving tips. However we find the wait and the rudeness not worthy of the tip. We go there very often and leave really good tips. However for the last few months its getting worse and worse. As much as we love it we are probably never coming back.

Ordered breakfast at this location and eggs were cooked incorrectly and hash browns were bone dry as they were over cooked. I waited over 15 min to get this order and they offered to cook again I waited another 15 min. I asked for hot sauce and I waited 10 min for that and it never showed up so I just walked out. The place had maybe 3 tables sat so it was not busy at all. The waiter was slow and offered poor service. The manager was there hiding out in the back. He should have been up front helping out.

United States) and there was around 3 cars in the drive tru area including us and the employees were outsdide doing nothing while we trying to order we waited and waited for a response and the employees inside were ignoring us then we tried to pull up to the pay window and they still ignored us and the restaurant clearly says it's 24 hours the cars in front of us ended up leaving just like us because the employees weren't working
attitude and non efficiency
I went through drive through at 5360 N keystone. It was between 4-5 pm. I go there occasionally. I understand you have to wait but this time was horrible. Unreal. I said something to the cashier. No I'm sorry or anything. When I told her she acted like I was bothering her! Maybe that's why things are the way they are there. Wrong attitudes and it needs to change.
drive thru milkshake
Went to the drive thru and ordered, received a milkshake with a broken cup and lid unattached. I grabbed it from lower and handed it to my passenger and it spilled all over my new car. Poor quality control or just carelessness on the drive thru attendants part.
I had to spend an hour cleaning my car and didn't get to enjoy all my shake. See attached image.
