bad delivery
I had placed an order with Amazon.com and delivery was 7/28/12. UPS delivered by placing package in middle of cement driveway in mid-day, very hot without any notification that they had even been on the premises. I was home and they could have least placed package in garage or come to front door and ring bell. If we had not gone outside, there is no telling when we would have seen the package. It contained a cardridge for printer and some eye medication. Very disappointed in this service.
I hope they hear about this. S. Melvin

denial of claim for damages they caused
On June 13, 2012, I shipped a telescope from the UPS store in Ladner, BC to the telescope manufacturer (Celestron) in Torrance, California. I paid UPS $54.32 to pack the telescope safely and properly. It arrived at Celestron badly damaged. I phoned a damage complaint to UPS Canada. After a week and a half's delay, UPS told Celestron (but not me, I never heard back from them) that they were denying the claim. The telescope is worth more than $3, 000. The cost to repair the damages is likely to be in the order of $1, 000. I understand that it is UPS operating policy to deny all damage claims and then wait to see who sues them, before settling. I am outraged at UPS's high-handed and negligent way of doing business. What can I do to bring UPS to admit its responsibilities?
women
I been with this company for close to three years. But the way women are being treated is not nice. Mainly there are two ladies who joined the company early this year and where put to off load trucks with only very heavy packages and is they are not off loading that truck they are taken to do irregs these are also heavy items that where off loader by men the previous day. When one day I brought this issue to the supervisor Howard and Max why ladies are being used like that yet there are men being put in great numbers in other tracks. The answer was have they complained."? I told Howard these are new people who are scared to even complain and you are taking advantage of them. After two/three weeks passed one of them got sick and couldn't show up for work for almost a month. When she returned she was still asked to go and do the same heavy lifting she refused and asked to do something lighter like other fellow women do upstairs(Small sorts) or to do the scanning. She was told that was impossible because she knew nothing. The woman lost interest in the job the more because even upstairs there are other women who are so comfortable with the duties they were doing and there is also a big fight with the scheduling and now the new comer find it more difficult to get any spot. To make this short, I am wondering when should any new person get the right training and with who and in which duration. Is it really fair for the old staff to call names the new, and only give up duties that need heavy lifting while the management is just looking on? Who is to be informed about any mistreatment at this company since no body is taking this issue up apart from giving promises. Why is it so hard to train the new staff and praises go to the old staff yet they still do many mistakes. Where are the work ethics in this company?

package delivered to wrong address 2 days in a row
I had a package that was due to us on May 24th. Found out that it got delivered to and address on the other side of town. UPS was supposed to pick it up on the morning of the 25th and delivered to me that afternoon.
I was told that it got put in the wrong truck again today and there would be no way to get it today. This is completely unsatisfactory.
This is an extremely urgent package that we need before the weekend.
I can't believe that there would not be a driver or supervisor of some kind that can deliver this package to me.
Its not the address. We get deliveries everyday. UPS has put it in the wrong truck 2 days in a row.
The second day.
I apologize the title should have said Put in the wrong truck 2 days in a row.
The first day It did get delivered to the wrong address on the other side of town. UPS promised to get it and deliver it me that day. Something got screwed up and UPS said it would get picked up the second in the morning and delivered to me. Well it got put in the wrong truck and it is still on the wrong side of town.
If I had know I would have picked it up.
damage/rudeness
I had a bike delivered from Southern California and it sustained damage. The driver left before we had a chance to inspect it. The company I purchased it from started a claim and at first the gal at UPS Freight implied I had crashed the scooter which was still on the crate it was delivered on. We have gone back and forth for the pick up and they have been rude, demeaning and patronizing the entire time. They hung up on us twice. It has since been a month and a half and it is still in my garage. I would never use this company ever. If you find yourself in a conflict with this company small claims court should be your first stop.

ups store franchise closes down, ups abandons customers
I rented a box from MBE Store #301, a UPS Store franchise, for a year and renewed the subscription in November 2011 for another year. In December I arranged for a friend to pick up my mail (name written on my file) because I was going home for three months and was assured that all was well.
I returned at the beginning of April and my friend informed me that the store had been emptied of mailboxes with no explanation or forwarding address on the door.
I contacted the Franchiser, UPS by email and was informed that the local rep for Alberta would contact me. This was on a Sunday. I waited until mid Monday and receiving no reply phoned head office in Ontario again to find out what had happened to my mail, having received no T-4 slips for filing a tax return. Again I was told someone would be in contact with me.I also left a phone message and number on his cell phone in Alberta. I received an email referring to a previous email which I never received. You are welcome to read the response. He basically told me that there was nothing that they could do and told me to move on.
At no time was I ever offered a refund or discount on a mailbox at another branch for the 10 months. Most disturbing was the defensive, dismissive attitude of the local representative who may be more focused on selling new franchises that dealing with customer service. To change an address from a commercial mailbox you cannot use Canada Post, so I had to start from scratch.
I waited for some followup from UPS and to date have heard nothing and no answer to my question that if this can happen once, what do they plan to do to prevent it from ever happening again? I was not the only one affected.
It is shocking that such a large company would behave in such an indifferent manner.
Wow, same thing has happened to me. I live in New York, and their Fresh Meadows branch was just closed out of nowhere. I never received a notice, or a phone call, or anything. But I have paid for a 6 month box rental & only had it for 2 months so now I have the headache of not only losing my box, my mail etc...but now to chase UPS corporate around to get my money back. I totally sympathise with you!
don't bother paying higher shipping rates, the claims are worthless
I recently received a stereo preamp that I bought on Ebay. The unit had been previously bought and returned due to a measurement listed wrong. The item went half way across the country and back in tact. When it got shipped to me, on Friday, the box was crushed, the .062″ stamped steel covers were badly dented. I immediately filed a claim with UPS. A claims agent called me a few hours later. He tried to claim it was not packed properly etc.
but I reminded him it made a farther journey and was fine. It was obviously mistreated. I decided to try to repair the unit, so I disassembled it, put the metal cover and rear panel in a press to straighten it out. It is really heavy steel for a stereo. The UPS agent told me that would be fine if I could fix it, and he would contact me on the following Monday or Tuesday, but I should stay in contact with the shipper. I was successful fixing the preamp, but the glass insulator that came with it is toast.
I told the shipper I was pursuing a claim for my time and damaged items. Well, no call from UPS. So I contacted them via live chat, and was informed my case was closed. All transactions have to go through the shipper, and the shipper did not enter a value on the unit. I thought the minimum was $100 anyway. As the conversation went on, making sure I understood, I was informed UPS does NOT INSURE any package. You are not buying insurance when you enter the item value! SO I am letting everyone know, UPS does not insure packages, and if you get damage, YOU ARE SCREWED!
So don’t bother paying higher shipping rates, the claims are worthless. I have talked to many people that had legitimate claims only to get nothing. Buyer beware!
ups packages not delivered
UPS Packages were supposed to be delivered by 12/23/2011. But they never were attempted on a delivery. Contacted customer service on 12/27/2011 and spoke to Jeremiah and he informed me that there was a note stating the customer requested a hold on all six packages. Jeremiah sent a message to the facility in Jackson, MS informing them of the tracking numbers and the note that was showing on each of the tracking numbers. I then received a call from LaToya from that UPS facility and she was very giddy in which I did not find funny at all.
She informed me that this was a system generated message and that my packages were still on a truck. She said she was going to have them take them off the truck and have them delivered. She also stated that she would give me credit for the shipping fees. She told me she would give me a call back. 12/28/2011 1:00 pm cst, I contacted UPS at [protected] and spoke with Donna who went on to tell me that the packages were not guaranteed to be delivered, although it showed a delivery date, they were never delivered. I explained to her that one of my packages which was the 7th package was delivered by FedEx without any problems. She told me they delivered more packages than UPS. Who cares! Don’t spout stats at me at this point. I wanted my packages delivered.
So I asked for a UPS supervisor and Donna told me that the packages would be delivered when they are took them off the truck. She got a supervisor, (Bernita) who accessed these tracking numbers and thought it was a bit ridiculous. She attempted to call the facility in Jackson, MS and there was no answer. So she returned to me and told me she would call me back with an update. While out in the yard with a contractor, a person by the name Paulette left a message “I’m returning your call that you said noone called you back.” I’ll try later. She did not leave a number for me to call her back. This is just ridiculous….In addition to this situation, I am asking for my money for shipping back……So far I have been told no.
I recently ordered some sheets off your internet site and it was shipped ups part of the way to my address and then it was dropped off at a post office in another town and then sent through the postal service to my local post office. When it arrived here, the postal people said there was no Box number on the address and then refused it and sent it back. The receipt I printed after I made my order has my street address as well as my Box number on the shipping adress. I would like to know why my package was shipped part way Ups and part way USPS when we have ups service in my town.
I would also like to know if it is possible if my street address and box number is on my receipt, for my shipping address, if my box number could of been left off my package.
damaged freight
I shipped a package via UPS Freight containg automotive body panels. They managed to crush my package, destroying the contents. I filed a claim and received a letter stating the claim was denied because the damage "wasn't that bad" . Wasn't that bad? it was totally destroyed! Now I have a very unhappy customer and in a struggling economy us small business people don't need unhappy customers, espescially when it's not our fault.
lost package claim
I shipped a package from MD to SC with a used laptop that was like a new computer to my Grandson. I originally purchase the HP Mini from Verizon on their 2 year plan and it only cost 200., so I insured it for $200. This would not be possible to replace for that amount, but I am honest and have documentation for that order. The package was tracked delivered at the door of my recipient and I notified her to look outside. The recipient was home and said she had not seen UPS and no package was delivered. I opened a claim and UPS went through their process and I fax documents that proved what I was claiming. After a week and a half, I am told that their policy is not to issue a claim if the package is released. So I have to go by the UPS driver's word that he delivered the package to the right address and loose out on what I had to spend to replace this computer that was a gift to my grandson. Another incident occured in MD and the UPS driver scanned a delivery to my resident on the wrong tracking number and insisted that I was keeping the wrong package. I was what I ordered and the package showed up in PA. So drivers make mistakes, but the consumer suffers. I will not use UPS again.

worst service
Worst service
Needed to get some documents and numbers for my car, took UPS Express Saver service, paid extra money for the delivering the package on a definite day to a definite person. Paid 3 times more then it might cost through russian post services. As a result, UPS brought the package one day earlier: on the day when the person who the package for is off, UPS man gave the package to the frist people he saw and left. What a
"wonderful" service! I just wonder what for i paid extra money for UPS Express Sever service, which i did not get?
store closed before posted business hours
The posted hour of operation times for are Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Today, I arrived at the UPS branch at 1636 3rd Ave (Branch #0561) at 3:55 p.m. In my hand I had a letter that I wanted to send and for which I needed a return receipt. The door to the store had been locked. The young man who was apparently finishing up for the weekend angrily waved me...

The people are friendly but the company is incompetent beyond belief.
I was expecting an important package. Since I knew there wouldn't be someone home throughout the day, I used UPS' new "My Choice" service to have the package sent to my local UPS Store.
At the end of the day, the UPS website still showed the package undelivered. I called UPS. They said it was delivered. I went to the UPS Store. They told me that not only was the package not delivered, it had never been loaded onto a truck for delivery.
I then spent another forty minutes on the phone with UPS. They told me the package would be delivered the following day (Saturday) to the original destination. Two hours later, the local distribution center called to tell me that it was too late. The package would not go out until Monday and could not be sent to the original address.
Since I needed to head out of town, and since the package could no longer be sent to my house, I wanted to send someone to pick it up. Two UPS phone agents said it wouldn't be a problem, so long as the person had the same address as me. Two people at the UPS Store said the package could only be released to me.
For the pleasure of paying $5 for the redirection service, my Friday delivery didn't occur until Monday; and, since I was out of town, no one in my family could get the package until Tuesday (four days after it should have arrived).
Thank you UPS.
lost parcel
On February 21 2012 I ordered a piece of furniture through Costco.ca. I received a tracking information sheet from UPS telling me that they will deliver my parcel on Monday February 27. I waited that day and unfortunately didn't received nothing. I checked my e-mails and had another tracking information sheet telling me that my parcel will arrive the next day Tuesday February 28.
I waited that day too and once again didn't received nothing. The day after, Wednesday February 29 I decided to contact UPS by phone and customer service told me that my parcel was shipped at Purolator by mistake and that they will retrieve it that same day and they will ship it the next day at my house. So the next day (Thursday March 1) my husband phoned UPS to confirm that a driver will deliver our parcel and another customer service representative told us that they didn't have that parcel. They assured us that they will ship it the day after, Friday March 2. Once again I contacted UPS this morning to make sure that the parcel was actually in the delivery truck and unfortunately they told me that the parcel was still at Purolator and because UPS is closed in the weekend we will receive our parcel only next week. I was so frustrated about all these lies that I asked the representative to give me the Purolator address where my parcel is sitting and that I will get there by myself to get it. She couldn't give me the address, and even when I asked for Purolator phone number she told me that she didn't have a clue cause they contact each other by computer! Wow...we're talking about one of the biggest delivery service in the world? They were suppose to phone me back today...it's already 2pm and I didn't have news from UPS :( I will never use that company again for the rest of my life. And I'm really hoping that Costco will switch and do business with another courier service...if not well unfortunately they will lose a lot of their online customer, including me!
damaged shipment delivery
I shipped my 46" LED TV through UPS Bloomington, IL to Plano, TX and moved out from Bloomington to Plano on the same day with my family after shipping and paied $149.29 for shipment. When they delivered on June 23, 2011; even UPS delivery person noticed that because of the damage on the carton box, the screen got cracks. After reporting complaint, UPS picked that package on June 27 for inspection. In turn after that they sent to again Bloomington, IL UPS store by mentioning the package was damaged in transit. Now the UPS store at Bloomington told me they denied the damaged got because it is not packed properly. Please look into it and help me how to claim the damages of my TV.
stolen item
I ordered a Christmas gift for my son from Lineage Inc. a Sword and a Family Crest worth $941.00 for almost a year ago. I was wondering why until Jan 2012 I did not get any shipment. I did call Lineage and they said it was already shipped thru UPS. I called UPS with a tracking number several times and they said the tracking number did not exist. I called back the Lineage Inc. to confirm the tracking number and it was correct. The UPS reps. talked like a damn person, " Sorry, I can't give you any details with this tracking number". I went online and I found, my items were attemptted to deliver Dec. 27, 2011 and sched. a second attempt. but there was no second attemptt done. I spoke to a rep. again. and what was shocking she said " Sorry, we can't discuss what's going on, just call the company" where I ordered my sword. This company (UPS) needs to hire reliable employees or your company will just ruined by dishonesty, corrupt employees, bad cutomer service. Is this happening in America in 21st century? What's going on with the President of this company? What kind of Leaderships they have. ? Until now I am still waiting for the money but the Lineage said I will be reimbursed, but my point is, we need UPS to do something about this. Hope no one will suffer like this again!.

This isn't the first incident with postal services, but my mother from maryland mailed me a printer at an office depot . She wrapped it with brown paper wrap and the inside of the wrap has dog prints. I got my package today which we signed for and it was very small and wrapped very sloppy. I opened it and its someones blazer jacket . So basically someone for this company stole my printer, put a blazer in the paper taped it up sloppy !. If ups is so accurate and the trackin number i dont see how this could have happened. It says the size and the weight on my recipt!. I pretty much figure that I'll never see my printer . I don't understand how irresponsible this company is. Obviously a blazer jacket isn't 20 pounds!. I'll never deal with ANY POSTAL SERVICE!. seems they hire anybody to deal with people's items which is not professional to me at all. And I know I'm not the only person that has had this problem.
This really is terrible. I work for the company you made your purchase from and I would like to followup with you regarding this matter. Please contact Evan at [protected] so I can make sure you got all of your money back and I would like to send your framed family history for free.
lost package/ horrible follow-up
I had a friend send a package from Los Angeles to Delaware. It was two large paintings rolled up. they never arrived. I had to call four numbers to get the tracking number. They had sent me an invoice through my UPS account, but it did not contain the tracking number. I called to place a track on it but they wouldn't allow me to do it because my friend, not I, had sent the package (it was irrelevant that I had paid for the shipping), so I gave them my friend's number and they assured me that they had him on another line and then I hung up. Two weeks later I call to see whether they had tracked it and there was no record of me or even my friend requesting the tracking. This time I took down the name of the person who helped me, asked him to call my friend and then asked my friend (who had not again been called) to call him. I have tried to call this UPS huckster repeatedly and left messages which have been completely blown off! I cannot believe the incredibly poor treatment I have received after having wasted $80 to send my package and having lost my very valuable work. And to ad insult to injury I have been told by the local UPS store that now I need to document the cost of the materials in the package and submit said documentation and if I'm lucky and don't get blown off again by their seemingly willfully negligent employees, I'll receive a grand total of a hundred dollars to compensate for my lost paintings and the cost of shipping and the shoddy treatment! Brilliant! Don't ever send anything you care about through UPS. Because they don't care about it.

over charged
I wne to the UPS Store in Horizon Ridge this morning to ship a large item to Idaho.
I spoke to the manager and told her I needed to pack the item but I had to return home to pick up a part of the item i forgot.
It took her about 15 minutes to pack the item in a large box. Whne I enquired about the cost they told me It was going to cost $168 dollars to ship it to Idaho ground. I asked how much the boxes and styrofoam peanuts cost and they said packing it was $68.
I WAS SHOCKED! I tried to make some sense of the charges and asked the manager why she did not inform me of the cost before she packed it and she said I did not ask. This place is a COMPLETE SCAM! The manager does not offer information if you dont ask and you end up with the cost. %68 dollars for 15 minutes of work! WOW and I thought mechanics were ripping me off! DO NOT GO TO THE UPS STORE IN HORIZON RIDGE IN HENDERSON!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Well why didnt you ask? Yes they probably should have told you but if you go in a store and say "I want this boxed and shipped" then you should have an idea what it costs.
2 day air delivery 2 days late
Four days ago, I spent good money for 2 day air delivery from UPS - my payment went out four days ago and here a wait for the package. So much for 2 day air. Funny thing is I ordered another item and sent it priority mail via the US Postal Service. That item was not even scheduled to go out until today and I just had a nice visit with my post office delivery person who had that item in hand. Way to go US Postal Service - they don't promise something they cant deliver and I am sure they don't take people's money for something they can't deliver. I think all of my future packages will come in and go out via the US Postal Service.
bad attitude
I purchased an investment coin for US$ 5, 462.50 in January 2011 from a reputable auction house in the USA.
UPS through their lawyer David Kotzen acknowledges that the coin was stolen by an employee of UPS's security company Minaar Security at UPS's branch in Durban, South Africa.
UPS have a video of the theft and reported the matter to the Police in South Africa.
UPS repudiate any claim against them for their negligence, and despite offering to process a claim against Minaar Security for compensation, UPS refuse to follow up, and UPS refuses to acknowledge any of my numerous requests for feedback.
This is in spite of the fact that I had previously done all my importation of coins through UPS.
The attitude of UPS, including its management, and Minaar Security is appalling, and UPS obviously does not value the goodwill of their customers.
Anyone using the services of UPS and Minaar Security does so at their own peril.
