unethical behavior
Saturday June 16th, 2:30 a.m., Waffle House located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. Individual brings dog into restaurant and places the animal on the counter beside myself and another customer while we were eating. The animal was a Chihuahua and not a service dog for the disabled. Customers were on both sides of this person enjoying meals when this nonsense happened. 5 members of the Waffle House staff were present and NONE of them asked this person to take the animal out of the establishment. It is my belief that this person is an employee of Waffle House based on the conversation I overheard between the staff and the person with the dog. I will not return to this restaurant because I find this incident to be disturbing and disgusting. The staff DID NOT clean the counter when the animal left! If this person does indeed work for Waffle House, I recommend that they be fired immediately to avoid any future business loss. I am a dog owner myself but this is just to much!
dirty restaurant in columbia sc
I have been to waffle houses my entire life. I've been in the restaurant biz for 22. I've never seen a dirtier restaurant than #1958 in Columbia's 5 Points.
Floors sticky with debris everywhere, especially under the "bar style" seating that faces kitchen line. windows hadn't been cleaned in days, fingerprints from one end to the other. tons of flies. Both dead and alive. Under tables filthy. Like you could feel stuff with your feet. My 3 kids n wife were disgusted.
service
Cold food. Took thirty min to get coffee. They were asking if there was anything else we needed and I still didn't have my food. Had to ask for a refill, creamer, Splenda, syrup. I got sausage but not the rest of my food until I told a different server I still didn't have food. Was there for 1.5 hours just trying to get to our location. Also got charged for water. WTH?!
racism in the local restaurants
It has come to my attention that waffle house mistreats their black customers. From getting a young lady sexually molested by the cops to a black couple being kidnapped by the cops due to an enmployee attempting to price gouge and rob them. Where is the President of this company? The CEO? The VP? YOU OWE THEM AN APOLOGY! We are calling for all waffle houses to close at once!
drew as manager unrightful termination
In the late 2015 I was released from my employment with waffle House due to the fact that I decided to take honest as a role in my position. There was a rumor going around the store at the moment spreaded by an employee named Micheal that the district manager drew was buying marijuana from him which is why he was allowed to get away with so much. It became such a big deal within the employees that I decided to bring it up to drew and make him aware of the rumor that was spreading about him. One of our questions in many interviews has to do with honesty and would you speak up if something was affecting the work space. I told drew. He held a mini meeting with all the employees individually then when he came back with Kianne another manager of the store he made me aware I was being terminated for starting the rumor that no one else apparently had heard of. I let it be known that I was telling the truth and that I didn't make up the rumor but he still terminated me on the spot. At first I started to pursue the fact that I was wrongfully terminated but then I thought if this is what this environment was about after a year and a half of dedication to this store then I no longer wanted a part of it anyway. But after a few years I know that I belong in waffle house. I am a EXCELLENT server you can ask many of my ex co workers and customers. I always took my job serious and I never had any issues before this. I am now not allowed to work for waffle house again ever all because I decided that I wanted to make my manager aware of the drama that was stirring up about him and how I was just trying to be honest instead of it being so awkward at work Everytime someone brings it up amongst us. I just want what's right now. And I know that THIS isn't.
customer service/undercooked food items store # 1174
Today, June 14th at 11:15 a.m., I had lunch with my daughters at Waffle House. Two of our orders were not properly prepared. I ordered a T-bone with a double hashbrown with onions and one of my daughters had the Texas bacon patty melt. The other daughter orders a chicken biscuit and a hashbrown with onions, tomatoes, and jalepenos. Her order was okay. When I received my order, my T-bone was cooked perfectly. My hashbrowns were cooked perfectly also, but had RAW onions mixed in them. I asked the waitress were the onions suppose to be sautéed in the hashbrowns before I sent it back and she said yes. Although I knew the answer already, I just wanted to see if they knew, because if they didn't know, I could understand why the onions weren't sautéed. I sent my plate back for the onions to be cooked. My plate came back fine. The 2 pieces of bacon on my daughter's sandwich still had the light pink color meaning that it was undercooked. I sent it back too. Her plate came back with 1 piece of overcooked bacon. I was on my lunch break and I didn't really have but an hour for lunch and no time for going back and forth so I told my daughter not to worry about it. The waitress was very arrogant and argumentive, and she did not come back to the table once to see if everything was okay once we got our food. We constantly had to get her attention whenever we needed something. She seem to have something very important going on with her cell phone. When I paid for my meal, she asked me how was everything and I told her that it was good in the end. Your waitress response was "at least we got it right in the end." I responded "maybe ya'll should practice getting it right the first time." Your waitress response was, "I'm not the cook." Although she didn't deserve it, I still let her a $5.00 tip. She would have definitely received a better tip had she been more attentive. I've worked in the food service industry as a cook, and in management for years and I know for myself how customers can be so the last thing that I wanted to do is send a negative comment to corporate but her (your waitress) attitude was totally unacceptable. Had your store been busy, you probably would not be receiving a comment from me, but because there was no other orders in front of our order, there was absolutely no reason that our order should have not been a quality product. I just want to report this so this might not happen to other customers.
connector three store
I have multiple complaints and issues with this location. I have frequented this store all different shifts. Morning shift, if you visit during the morning hours, you can find almost all of the first shift employees outside in a group smoking marajuana on a daily basis before they begin their shift. Leaving out the elderly lady on first, sweet wonderful lady! Cooking on 1st shift is the stores the stores new manager who seems like her main concern is her boyfriend/husband she brings to work with her. Then a female cook who Im assuming is managment. This lady is always griping at employees, has a smart/rude mouth, outside getting high and I hear her speaking of her affiliation with a gang on a regular basis and her boyfriend in prision. Really unprofessional, my children do go out to enjoy a meal and hear about your thug life. I shouldnt have to walk my six year old and 2 year old through a cloud of drugs to get through the door. Second shift is mainly just the store is dirty and the employees seem ro have no structure. They are being paid to have breaks and just kind of hang out. Third shift, wow. I see two employees work. One is a blonde cook who wears a different shirt than the rest if the workers, shirt says all star, works weekdays only. Wonderful, skillful cook. Better than any cook in that entire store, better than managment even. Majority of the time she cooks and serves at the same time because the male servers stay outside and wont work. Im willing to be ahe isnt paid to cook and serve both though right? I could bet she is probably one of the lowest paid cooks even, seems Waffle House tends to mistreat their better employees in that manner. Cant be a valued employee unless your a burden to society. A shame her skill is wasted on graveyard shift. One good server, been there about a month, red haired girl. Very friendly, always providing great service, best nights are when her and the blonde cook are paired together. The store is always very clean on their nights together also. The rest is a joke. They stay outside doing drugs all night in a blue van a male employee drives. And the store will be a disaster. Other than specifics, that store has a rodent infestation. Not an occasional mouse, it is absolutely infested. There is also water or some sort of substance seeping up through the floors with a horrible smell. Ive hear the female manager there scold the employees for bleaching the floors due to it causes her headaches. Ever consider maybe fixing the problem that Im sure poses a health risk? Maybe even having a competent manager and crew? Value the good weed out the bad? Sadly I may not be returning, if I do it will not be often, and only certain weekdays on third shift. But I felt I needed to voice concerns, maybe this will help out employees and customers all the same.
product and service
Last night, 6/12/18 my friends and I headed to the Waffle House here in Kings Mountain, NC ( #453 726 York Rd, Kings Mountain, nc ) and normally I've never had to sit here and type up a complaint about service, cause I, myself, have been in the food service industry for some years and understand it is very demanding. But the waitress, a taller young woman with braces named Alexis, and I believe maybe the cook that evening ( another young woman, I didn't catch her name ) came out after we had paid and left screaming at hollering at us. Now prior to this incident not only did we have to correct this waitress while taking our orders and one of the orders still come out wrong, we were over charged. We had ordered off the dollar menu that they hold behind the counters, and this Alexis flat out told us, as we were paying the bill, that it was because we ordered something over 2x more expensive, even though we had pointed at it on the menu we asked for and corrected her after she repeated it back wrong. The burgers we had ordered where at least maybe a little over 3 dollars, and we were charged at least 12 dollars for 2 of them. Which we also ordered 3 but only received 2. Most of this could have been excused if they had not only argued about what we definitely ordered versus what they decided to write down, then proceeded to follow us and rudely disrespect us as we were walking out. This behavior is ridiculous and completely inappropriate.
employees and service and food
Waffle House 155 @10389 Airline Hwy. Baton Rouge, La. On 6/11/18 @ 11:00a.m. I came there to have breakfast with 2 friends. The 3 of us were all white and the staff was all black. This is not a problem for us at all, I'm a Minister from a mixed Church in Gulfport Ms. There were only a few people in the restaurant. The table was not very clean so we wiped it off. The waitress was okay, apparently a new employee. The food took over 45 minutes to get put on our table. Before it arrived I got up and looked toward the grill and there was nothing going on. I asked for the manager and he was quite rude. I told them we needed to get going and a server said, " so you trying to leave or are you gonna stay". The other customers there were black and Hispanic. We were highly insulted to be treated like that and felt we were being discriminated against because of being white. My wife and I are frequent customers of the Waffle House in Gulfport Ms. and have never had any problems there. I may not return to any Waffle House, in the future. My ticket was printed 6/11/18 @ 12:06 P.M. # 553938759. $32.70. A refund and an apology from the acting manager from #155 via e-mail would help me reconsider my decision about returning to Waffle House. Thank you, Rick Roseman. my e-mail is [protected]@msn.com and my phone # is [protected]. I forgot to say, the food was barely warm and I had to go get my own silverware and they got the orders wrong.
product, service uncleanness.
Good evening...
To whom this concerns, my family and I patronize the Waffle House #155, 10389 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816. Upon coming into the restaurant, I noticed that the floors was not clean. After seating down the table was not clean so I wiped it off with a napkin. Our server was very rude and unconcerned on taking our orders. My wife ordered a sausage and omelet and it didn't even look like an omelet. (I have the picture as well.) Our server never came back to our table, did not refill our drinks and was telling the other co-workers, she had enough of this today and was ready to go. I'm guessing she was a manager or assistant manager. The other employees was talking about personal business with each other and they were loud and didn't care about none of the customers in the restaurant. Our food was lukewarm and not hot as it should have been. Another employee came to work, clocked in and just stood behind the counter while our server just left. I'm a very professional man and I work for the Adams County Sheriff's Office in Natchez, Mississippi and we were visiting Baton Rouge for the weekend with family and I never experienced such unprofessionalism in a long time. It's very displeasing for this restaurant display a poster board in the window saying, "The BEST Waffle House in Baton Rouge". We see differently. Other employees was trying to teach another one how to cook the food while we were there. We saw burned bacon and waffles go in the trash. We also watched as the manager cooked her own macaroni and chesee with hot dogs and offered it to the employees. The employeesecond declined and she said out loud, "We'll it's going to be good in my stomach." From this experience, this Waffle House #155 employees, managers and management needs training. I been to plenty of Waffle Houses across this country and never once had I or my family had anything negative to say but today was the absolute worse! My name is Derrick J. Freeman, email is [protected]@gmail.com and my cell phone number is [protected]. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. Thank you for time and consideration in this matter.
employee behavior
While in the store #2078 I witnessed several employees openly discriminate against another employee based on her ethnicity. They were adressing her by her skin color and not her name, and laughing and being very disrespectful to her, and she was obviously upset. She did not say anything and walked away to count her tickets, but the other employees continued to catcall and yell at her through the restaurant.
service
June 7, 2018 @ 5:30 PM (Lasscassas Pike), Murfreesboro, TN. Place was way too cold, only 2 other customers in the place and music was way to loud and being played by apparent off-duty employee or friend of our server. Server was hard to understand (due to loud music) and had trouble with taking order, we finally had to "point" to the menu on what we wanted. She "visited" with friend the entire time and never came back to check on us after bringing our food.
No Update. Already typed complaint
service & food
I love waffle house. I have been eating at waffle house at least 2 times a month since I was old enough to drive. Last night I had the worst experience I have ever had! As soon as we walked in Jessika, the waitress, asked how many we had in our party. I said we have 13 total people. Her response was "are you freaking kidding me?" She huffed and puffed the whole time. I'm not typically a germaphobe, but when my waitress is continuously scratching and digging at her scalp it turned my stomach. She NEVER washed her hands! Before she brought us our food I asked her to wash her hands and apparently it made her mad. She never brought my bacon or my daughters bacon and my hashbrowns didn't have ham in them. She sat out food down and never came back to the table. The other waitress checked on us once and I told her what we hadn't received and she brought it to us. We never got a refill on any of our drinks. I ordered an all star with an extra side of bacon with my hashbrowns covered & chunked, the waffle from my all star and the side of bacon was for my daughter. My husband ordered an all star with his hashbrowns smothered and covered & my son had a waffle and eggs. My son and daughter both got drinks and my husband and myself both got water. Our bill was $41.92!
One more thing, the waitress made me so angry that when my daughter accidentally dropped her fork. I started yelling at her. I grabbed her by her hair and slapped her across the face. Now I find out that someone called CPS on me.
Sounds like someone needs to. Slapping any one in the face is beyond disrespectful and for accidently dropping a piece of silverware. Smh
server with a rude attitude
The server Tanike at the waffle house in phenix city alabama near walmart at highway80 and 431 she was very rude. Even when we thanked her she said nothing. 1st when we sat down we didnt have menus and when we reached behind for a set she said I am getting you menus in a rude [censored] tone. She then told us to get up she wasnt done with the table rude as hell. She was snappy when taking our order and let some staff know she didnt want anymore tables. She ignored us but loved talking to another black guest. I have never been treated this way and we visit waffle house alot. I have been a server for over 10yrs and this is the worse I have ever been treated. She was extremely disrespectful and rude. If my 10yr old autistic son wasnt with me I would have had words with her. We will not be back and I will let my guest and friends know about my experience .
server
The waffle house in melbourne fl, located on west new haven ave has a middle aged server named ron. This gentleman was over heard by me and my two children talking about having man on man sex and oral fixations in order to obtain better tips from his, table. I overheard him offering these services more than once and i saw him grope anotger employee without their permission. This man is sick and i will never recommend that waffle house to anyone and if i go back and see him their again i will sue your companu for sexual harrassment
waitresses rude/ was horrible
we went in to the waffle house in mesquite tx on schyene rd. Patricia was horrible . she was mad because we sit down . started talking crap . we ended up leaving without eating. I'm not sure why she was so angry that we sat down in her area . when i said we were leaving all she said was bye and tried to act like she wanted to fight. A cook had to stop her. I've been to many locations but never have i been treated this way.
cook attitude
The food was great and the server was amazing but the atmosphere was horrible the cook was rude to the guests and extremely rude to the server...she went out of her way to be rude to the server she even cursed at her in front of the guests. Her attitude was just simply uncalled for, needless to say when this cook named Kat is there we wont be dining any longer.
the food
6/1/18
We just ate breakfast at our local area Waffle House 6:30 a.m. Friday... This was by far the worst meal that we have had at Waffle house. I ordered a texas bacon sandwich with large order of hashbrowns. My husband ordered eggs over medium. It took forever to get our food. When my plate came first the bread was drenched in butter. So much that I had to pull the sandwich apart to eat it. My eggs were hard. My husband's plate came after mine and his eggs were hard as rock and cold. And his toast was cold with butter not melted. We should have said something but we had waited a lengthy time already for our food. Please get another cook. The food here used to be great and something that we looked forward to.
special treatment
I have been a dedicate employee of Waffle House 1057 for five years. I've seen a lot throughout the time I've been here. But nothing compares to what's been going on these last couple of months. There are two particular employees that have a friendship/relationship with the area manager. They brag daily about how no matter what they do they will not lose their job due to the friendship/relationship they have with the area manager. They have threatened at least three different employees one which actually happened with the unit manager standing feet away. Nothing was done. They take orders give customers a price take the money an put it in their pocket. They have so many people that complain almost daily about them an nothing happens the unit manager, district manager, division manager an area manager acts like these two do nothing wrong. They actually should have lost their jobs along time ago but when you have a special connection with someone like the area manager it doesn't matter what you do. This unit is going into the ground because of the management and they are willing to lose faithful employees to keep the ones that are there only for a paycheck
server
We went in there tonight about 12:05 am and no one was there but us. when we walked in they were seating and eating. they had to get up to serve us so it seemed like they didn't like it. I told her I wanted my bacon to be crispy and when I got the food it was chewy but I still didn't say nothing. after we received the food my little boy asked for jalapeños and she turned her face like he was an [censored] and she went to get it with attitude. so after he finished his grill cheese sandwich I asked for another one and she looked at him like crazy. and he was still hungry so I have ordered another one and she said oh whoever looks at this ticket in the morning the manager will be mad at her so I quite don't understand why would they will be mad at her because we are full paying customers and you are getting more business. if she wants to she can make as many tickets she wants and it's not my problem however you guys should teach them how to serve properly. Then they wonder oh I don't make enough tips. by the way her name was Britt.
