different shifts different rules?# 1407
I was wondering if marking plates was optional now, and if the cook is allowed to throw full force everything into the dish area, regardless if any one is there or not? Plate marking is to keep mistakes from happening, but one cook doesn't do it and there have been mistakes that gets blamed on wait staff by the person in question. The person is confrontational about it and this has kept quite a few others from shifts they work.
service
Around 9:45 PM February 23, my wife and I arrived at Waffle House, Byram, MS. There was no greeting at the door, so we stood there a few minutes and then decided to seat ourselves. After looking over the menu and ready to place our order approximately 15 minutes has pass and still no one has acknowledged us. Including us there was 6 customers in the restaurant. Several more minutes past as it became obvious that we were not getting service. What has happened to good customer care. I'm highly disappointed in the service I didn't receive and equally disappointed it happened in a city I like to spend my money in. I would discourage anyone that would plan on visiting this restaurant until service improves.
employment
I worked for store #1023 for over a year. First shift is and has always been managers favorite shift so it's understandable why everybody knows everybody business before the subject knows. I was terminated yesterday for a video misunderstanding and I feel that it is wrong for Brian Casteen to show my personal business to anybody. I want to file a complaint against him and the company. I reconciled the situation yesterday as requested and I'm still not being given just due
foul language and rude staffing
I went to waffle house 1382 in Ridgeway SC on a Saturday night about 2 weeks ago. There was a Mexican looking guy cooking, and 2 wait staff. 1 was a red headed woman named Red and the other was a black man named Ratio. The lady was running around like a chicken with her head cut off while the black man was sitting with the police. She kept looking at him like she needed help and he never did help. The place was packed. At one point I heard him call her a Yankee Cracker. This was very in appropriate. I eat here often and that boy is always ride and never groomed.
Forgot to mention I was told today that thE LADY WITH red hair named Red was let go. I want to know why the young black man named tarrlio or however you spell it is still there. I blatentely heard him call her derogatory names and he wasn't working at all and was extremely lazy. As he is every night I go in there. Most of the staff there are high on drugs. So why does 1 person get let go that actually works but yet staff that do drugs and steal food AND money and don't help thier coworkers at all still allowed to work? I have never had a problem with the day shift staffing. The night shift staff tho, is to be desired. A big lady named tee tee is very rude and condescending towards customers. She never wears a hair net and wears pants so tight and see thru. I will now take my business to blythwood!
employees
I was in the waffle house in evergreen alabama and my son and I had just sat down. I saw at the high bar that there was a young girl and her friend sitting there. I overheard the girl ask the cook who was working who was on the shift with him. He said himself, the waitress who waited on us, and another girl. The girl then said "well I dont want that b*h waiting on me so I'll wait for the next to get here." Our waitress, Eva, then proceeded to wait on us. The girl at the highbar then started yelling about not getting service. Our waitress ignored her comments and apologized for her behavior and told us that the girl, Ashley, worked here. Ashley continued to yell and so did her friend. Our waitress called our order and walked over to an elderly man and began to take his order, and at this time, Ashley began to say racial slurs towards Eva, then walked over to where Eva was taking an order and began yelling at her and over her customer. Eva was very professional about it all, didn't respond back to anything and let that girl yell and scream at her until she walked off the floor into the back. If this is how this waffle house does things, you can count me out of ever coming back in here. Its not right that anybody should take that kind of abuse from anyone, if they work there or not.
Its done with. I want my commet taken off of here.
uncleanliness and unprofessional behavior
My boyfriend and I went to Waffle House location at 1010 E Thomas St, in Hammond, LA 70401 this part Saturday. We entered at approximately 10 am and sat at the low-bar. Behind the bar was dirty, with trash on the floor. Our server, Dee, was dressed unprofessionally. Her uniform shirt was too tight, dirty, and did not reach the top of her pants. I could see the pink tag to her underwear, and she kept wiping her hands on her bottom or placing them on the exposed skin on her back. Additionally, she did not bring me a drink for the entire visit and she did not bring my boyfriend's waffle until ten minutes after I had been served and he had his meal.in fact, she didn't even put the waffle in the waffle iron until another customer reminded her that his had not come out either. Otherwise, the staff appeared clean and friendly. I just feel rather reluctant to visit that store location again after my experience with my server, especially when she was helping prepare food. My receipt number from my visit was 646963.
everything was bad
First, the pale white guy and black lady with eagles jacket was arguing the entire time. Sooo unprofessional. The guy then took my order and was super disgusting. I had a to go order, he bagged my food then instead of handing me my food he carried it on the side where it was super dirty and sprayed water all over his hand and balled my bag and tried to hand it to me. He sure he was upset I didn't leave a tip on a $6 to go order. Then I get home and my order was wrong. The both shpuld be out of a job because that was just ridiculous. I will never go back there again!
staff
Come in often, most staff are agreeable and make my meal enjoyable. Except tonight as I write this and am sitting in the restaurant and a waitress that goes by dee is yelling at the staff and throwing things telling the staff to do things she should have done before her shift ended (I used to waitress) she was very rude to the guest she had to ring up and had a grumpy demeanor and a scowl that does not belong in the waitressing field.
She grunted and sighed every time someone walked up to the cash register. Not a pleasent experience.
Also hearing an exasperated "oh my god" every 10 mom was fun -_-
the music
We went to the Richland ms. Waffle house on February 7th to get lunch, the music was so loud we couldn't even have conversation we repeatedly ask them to please turn it down they said they weren't allowed to, it was like we had went to a club, and not a place for a nice lunch, it was awful, the music was some kind of rap/pop. Awful we were trying to have a bite while we discussed last minute funeral arrangements, for moms funeral, whom we buried on the eighth. Some calm classical music softly playing in the BACKGROUND would have been nice, but not barroom loud
They are not to cater to your needs. You are not special.
waffle, side of bacon, and hashbrown
First, the staff was rude. Our server asked if we were ready and I asked for a few minutes. He kept asking and I felt rushed. I have 3 small kids to teach and handle. He was new, very impolite, and didnt even offer a smile. When we finally ordered it happened as followed: a milk and sweet tea for my toddlers and a sweet tea and water for me and my husband. I then ordered a waffle for the kids to split. I got the grilled bacon chicken cheese deluxe meal with no cheese. My husband got the all star meal with sausage. Server asked if I wanted anything else and I replied with a side of bacon. I received my chicken sandwich with cheese and sent it back. The first waffle was burnt and sent it back. I got my chicken sandwich back and there was a hair in the hashbrown. My husband then gets up and asked to speak to the manager and was told there was no manager on duty. The person he talked to was on her personal cell phone and having a ball. The server asked me about the hair and I gave him the plate. She brings the hair back and says she has no idea where it came from and that no one there had hair like that but would take 10% off our ticket. The original ticket was $18.67. She went to show the server how to fix it and she noticed a mistake he made which he didn't charge us for the bacon. She rewrote the ticket and the amount ended up being $23 and some change. The service was crap and we sent 3 items back one of which had a hair in it. There was only one other table being occupied besides ours. I spent the last of my paycheck taking my family out to dinner just to be treated like crap and with terrible food. Waffle house was one of our favorite places and we were really looking forward to it. We will never go back. I didn't appreciate the insinuations about the hair either. If I wanted a cheap or free meal I would have save that $25 and stayed home.
worst customer service ever
I made a call in order and went to pick it up. I work 2 minutes from this location and when I got my food it was wrong. I immediately contact the store and the young lady name taylor apologize and said she would replace it. I'm the general manager at firestone and I couldn't go back and she said she is there during the week. On monday the 29th I went in and the manager informs me that he made my order and it was right. As I was trying to explain he became belligerent and raising his voice. I asked for the district manager number which he gave me a wrong number. I didn't start my morning off at 630am arguing over $6. I've been in this area for over 2 years working and I will never go to or refer to this location again.
manager customer service cleanliness overall
I go to waffle house all around american and the one I experienced today in orlando florida on s. Apopka vineland was completely anything but pleasant. First of all it was dirty and had bugs crawling. Secondly the manager with that knot on her head need to cover it or wear a hair net cause it look contagious. The way she speaks down on and to her employees in front of customers is unprofessional. The employees walking around using foul language on a sunday morning. But if their manager had more respect maybe they would too. The process of cleaning up doing the shift change is the worst all and all the way your business is run starts at the top and I don't care how long she been there maybe waffle house need to reevaluate the the district managers decisions when making someone store manager because of longevity she is rude disrespectful and needs to be taught that just because you are in management you are nothing without the employees I heard you talking about to other employees gossiping with employees causes frictions between employees and further more there is to much business that comes thru there for the manager to be as she is. Code enforcement or health inspector needs to do a surprise pop up between the hours of 11 am and 2pm. I was just completely disgusted I have been to better waffle houses in racist areas and it was better than this.
service of waitress
My name is glasco flowers. I visited the waffle house #739 and I received the worst!
Service ever at a waffle house. I'm a marine vet and a professional truck driver of 28yrs. I ordered the pork chops dinner with garden salad and a sweet tea with lemon. After waiting for 8 1/2 min, I got up and went and ask my waitress what was taking so long with my drink. She replied i'll get it to you as soon as I can. Mind you, when I went in, there were no one in the store. Only 2 patrons were walking in as was i. When I finally got my drink, there was no lemon and about 5-6 ice cubes in it. Frustrated I ask a different waitress could she get me a lemon and a glass of ice. My current waitress ended up bringing the items but she slammed the glass of ice down on the table as if she had an attitude. When I finished my meal and was at the register to pay, my waitress was walking towards my table with the salad that was suppose to come to me before my meal. I told her I didn't want it. She then made my ticket out charging me individually for the pork chops, the hashbrown and the tea. I was like"you've got to be kidding me". She didn't have a name tag on so I don't know her name. Just review the video in the store and you'll see what I mean. I felt I was discriminated.
waffle
I went to the waffle house on the boulevard and purchase a All Star meal when I got home I realized my waffle was burnt when I called the waffle house to inform them about my waffle the young girl on the phone was rude and told me that she couldn't do anything for me except for putting my name on a board because I told her I was at home and I was to tired to return to the store because I worked last night and hung up the phone this happened around 745 a.m. You can also smell the burnt waffle
food distribution
Sooo this morning my husband and I went in to the Waffle House in Baton Rouge, LA and ordered the All Star breakfast for him and a 2 egg breakfast for myself. I noticed that each time eggs are cooked they are cooked 2 at a time. My husband's meal required 2 eggs and of course mine required 2 eggs. Why did the cook scramble only 2 eggs and split the cooked eggs between my husband's plate and mine. This means that alot of times when you order scrambled eggs you are only getting (1) egg. Make sure you pay attention to how many eggs you are receiving vs what you are paying for. I love Waffle House but this is a very slick rip off move on their end and they have been getting over for a number of years with this slick move.
service
Myself and my fiance were attacked at the waffle house in collinsville il after the manager refused to side with employees on making loud and obnoxious customers leave. The ending result left us being attacked by people who had guns and hit my fiance in the face, knocking out his tooth and pointing a gun in my face. A police report was made and is currently under investigation. I'm hoping to resolve this matter.
manager/assistant manager
I visited your location at 7400 bell creek road in mechanicsville virginia this morning (1/4/2018) and was unhappy with how the manager/assistant manager manny was treating a new employee. He was loud and very condensending to the male employee and I felt as if it made several customers very uncomfortable. Yes, manny knows his stuff, but he in no way was being professional this morning. The young man was doing his best to assist and was practically being pushed aside to "go do something else" instead of being taught the proper way to do things. To me, it was visible that this youmg man was upset by those actions. I visit this location several times a month and I will say this isn't the first time I have witnessed him being very arrogant and very unprofessional. Attitudes like manny's makes me not want to visit while he is on staff. Also, please note that when I entered this morning, the new employee was the only one to greet me.
coffee
Several months ago; i'm guessing six but it may have been less or more, the waffle house we visit changed their coffee. The new coffee was much stronger and tasted terrible. I don't drink coffee but my wife does and we like the food and service a lot at waffle house. So we (she) tried, for several visits to adjust to the coffee. Even though she doesn't use cream or sugar she tried one or both, she tried putting a little water in to weaken it; that helped a little but it was a inconvenient and inexact. And so we stopped going to waffle house and went to huddle house or ihop usually. Their coffee beat waffle house's new coffee all to bits and though our meals weren't exactly the same they were both winners because of the coffee. Then surprisingly while I was visiting family in north carolina in early nov my wife stopped by to visit one of the waitresses we liked so much at waffle house (connie) and joy said the old coffee was back. She took me there as soon as I got back but the change had been temporary-now the bad coffee is back again. It's been more than a month since we went to a waffle house and don't plan to return. My wife has to have her coffee. Here's hoping you will change it back. The workers at the waffle house we used to visit have told us they have lost customers (especially breakfast) because of the coffee change.
This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I've purchased coffee from Waffle House that tastes watery. It was the only coffee I'd drink more that 1 cup of, because it was so good. Now it tastes watery :( . What was change was not a good one. Please go back to the previous coffee and porportions.
verbal abuse toward an elderly employee and 19 year old girl, by the 21 year old manager and unsanitary food handling by the same manager.
Witness verbal abuse in front of customers at booths 1 and 2 by the manager directed at a elderly and young girl employee.
The manager repeatedly in a harsh voice and words telling employees they couldn't take breaks, been seen throughout the afternoon standing around and not doing work. Many of the other employees were eatting, drinking, in and out of the back, all but the elderly lady.in fact the elderly lady claimed that was the first time she stepped back there while her customers in booth 1 were not ready to give their order, and they witness the insults.
While elderly lady was taking booth 1 order a few minutes later it was quite obvious she was upset and embarrass, the manager when into the back talking on his cell phone which he steps out often to do. The a elderly lady made a comment to the manager very softly. Manager snapped at her and ordered her in the back to continue to verbally insult her. The elderly lady ask for another employee to come back and witness the accusations that the manager was repeating. When the other employee was present the manager changed his stance, and manner to being more humbled.
The elderly lady asked for an apology from the manager for his insulting behavior, he wouldn't.
The manager went back to the grill to cook, and the next three orders that the elderly turned in to be called, all the sandwiches came out without the bacon and the food just tossed onto the plate. The elderly lady was upset and not her normal cheerful self.
The embarrassment of the incident was felt by everyone that witnessed it, other employees and customers.
This manager was seen the day before picking food that had fallen onto the nasty floor and set on the wood counter a few minutes later raw meat was set on the same spot on the counter. Customers that witness this reported it to their server and couldn't finish their meal. They told the cashier that they wouldn't be eatting there again.
The same manager does not wash his hands ever while handle food or after handling money. This has been witness by all the employees.
The manager is 21 years old, justin, in the south knoxville waffle house.
no service
Hello. Waffle house tillman's corner mobile al. Walked in 12/23/2017. 9:20 am i'm a black female. Me and my autistic son walked in no one spoke. He went to bathroom afterwards we sat down. White gentleman came washed off table I spoke he didn't speak back then no one took my order. I sat for a good minute no one still took my order. I walked out and left. We were the only blacks in there. My son was really hungry. I'm not a happy camper behind this. Rude white people racism still exists
I've had a similar Waffle House experience in Sandy Springs, Ga. I was only white person there. But at least I gave it 20 or more minutes.
You waited a full minute before walking out? And, are claiming racism because you waited a full minute and no one served you? You are judging the employees, based on the color of their skin. Guess what that makes you?! I'll let give you a full, good minute to think that over.
