i took in some pictures to be developed in feb. of 2010... yes they were there for 1 month.. when i went to pick them up they had destroyed them... i know from personal expeirence that they have kept pictures longer than that.. those were pictures with my fiance and our children.. our first years together... now those memories are gone because of some pathetic change in the time of keeping pictures...

i am also the victim of walgreens destroying my film. I was on an interantional trip when my digitial camera broke. I bought 3 disposable cameras. I took it to Walgreens to get it developed. When i arrived they said that the film got stuck in the machine and they had to open it to remove it exposing all of the film. The fim was of a wedding in Germany that i attended along with pictures of Austria, Switzerland and Venice, Italy. Apparently, this happens all the time. They tried to oofer me a LOUSY $20.00 to replace the camera. Meanwhile I paid more for it in EUROS. This is completely disgusting reading all these blogs. They told me this NEVER happens. Bull [censored]. I really would love to sue them...

Walgreens sends out courtesy calls in order to remind you that you have prints remaining at the store, did you not get the calls? Realistically a month is more than enough of a wait time for storing photographs, what would happen if they never threw them away? It was your responsibility to pick them up, and you fault for waiting.

@KathleenD: There is always a risk of film being exposed and destroyed during the photo process. Machines are often old and the company will not replace them. I understand why you're upset, but they did offer the best compensation they could for the situation (which is not common at all, by the way). Felt bad for you up until you said you wanted to sue them over something as minor as this, another frivolous lawsuit!

Frivolous?! My son had his camera destroyed from Walgreens also and you better bet your ### they are going to pay more than $20! I habve to tell him his memories are lost because of some incompetent ### hole that claims to know what they are doing! Update to come! P.S. You people piss me off with this "looking down" on people that want to just have their stuff donr right by professionals and when they screw up who is responsible? You say just "chalk it up" well I can't tell my 10yr old to do that! You make me sick! If I want to sue someone for something who are you to judge me?! Step in my shoes, lose what I've lost, then talk. Until then keep your uneducated thought to yourself!

Grow up. Not knowing the procedure is your own fault.

Dot The child that posted that just wanted a free trip. Mommy and daddy need to work hard to take her on vacation again.

I also lost custody of my son to my ex because of Walgreens. He was crying because this was his first time taking pictures himself and he wanted to see how they developed. I was disgusted that he started crying that I told him he was a wimp and acting like a two year old girl When he still stopped crying I punched him real hard in the face to show give him a real reason to cry. The wimp told his mother and she called family services and now I am not allowed to see my son unsupervised thanks to Walgreens. I am going to sue Walgreens for ruining my relationship with my 10yr old son.

Come on now, you cannot sue the company just because you lost it and beat your son. No wonder your wife left you. You deserved to lose your son. You ruined your relationship with him not Walgreens. If it were not them something else would have set you off.
