Ackermans fraudulent customer practices

I, Me HJ Odendaal (ID [protected]) went to Ackermans Fleurdal Bloemfontein on Friday afternoon (17/05/2019) to pay my account. At the till, next to person who received my payment was another guy asking for my details to send me promotions. He said he need my permission to consent for promotional item. He then asked me to sign a till slip (the same one which I usually signed when I bought something on account). It was strange to me, I therefore asked him specifically for what am I signing. He responded in front of a witness that it is to receive promotions electronically.

Today (20/05/19) I receive the following SMS: "Ms Odendaal thank you for taking out the Family Protector Plan (Policy no ACKPOL...) Your policy has been activated and your premium is 019.95). He never mentioned anything about any policy or the benefits thereof. I never agreed upon this policy. This practice is fraud. When I phone the number on the SMS the lady on the other side acknowledge that she received several complaints like this one (Tel: 0861375878) especially from Ackermans clients.

How is it possible that Ackermans allowed other people in their store which fraudulent mislead their clients? Especially if they and the Ackermans cashier staff sit next to each other without making their valued customers aware that it is for a policy that they sign and NOT FOR PROMOTIONAL advertisements?

Can you kindly investigate this matter and provide me with feedback within a week otherwise I will report this matter to the police.

I really loose all my trust in Foschini. I am very unhappy with the way I was treated. I cancelled the "new" and my existing policy with Ackermans.

Ackermans unprofessional service

My husband and i went to Ackermans at Boardwalk inkwazi mall in Richardsbay(19/05/2019) to buy 2 phones (Mobicel H1 and a Trend A4) we stood by the cell phones with no-one to assist us. I eventually decided to go ask one of the staff members if we can get help. We waited for over 15minutes for our cellphones to come and the store was not busy at all. When the cellphones came the ladies at the till were laughing and mocking our mobicel, Slindoh and Ntuthu. Slindoh asked my husband and i to pay at different tills for the phones and i asked why since we were using one card to pay and she responded with an attitude asking do we want to stand next to each other while paying which i felt was very rude and uncalled for. Please teach your cashiers/staff on how to assist customers. We don't visit your shops to ask for favours we pay money there's absolutely no need for your staff to be rude to us.

Ackermans underwear

I went to the store last night to purchase underwear. I took panties looking at the size on the hanger. Only to find out when I got home it was 2 sizes smaller. Now what? I can't return it. A waste of my money. I take what I see. Unless you have a sign stating that one has to check the actual size on the item. However it is the duty of your staff to ensure that the items are marked or are on the correct hanger.
I am highly disappointed. I bought the items coz I needed it now I can't use them.

Ackermans service by lansdowne branch staff

I went to exchange a school pants bought at Ackerman's the day before where Kaylen assisted me. I asked Kaylen if I could if I could leave the store and go to Shoprite whilst she complete my refund because I'm strapped for time need to collect my nephews at Belleville University. Kaylen says yes no problem sure. I go and upon my return I find her attending to another client who is querying an new account she opened but had received no feedback till this point.
I said excuse me to Kaylen to ask if I could sign the receipt and get my cash as the pants was way to small for my son. Kaylen replied that I should wait until she's done on the telephone sorting out the client that came after me into the store. At this point Warren hear the commotion and screams from the door to Kaylen i must just wait till she is done on the phone. The client who's querying the account also start Verbally attacking me with Warren and Kaylen adding fuel to the fire. At this point I'm arguing with Ackerman's staff and being Physically assaulted by Ackerman's client. Please take this matter as a serious complaint as I have laid criminal charges at Landsdowne Police station. My name is Salama Nusterdien I'm diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression and due to this incident has been undergoing treatment by my Doctor Imthiaz Hoosen. Thank you

Ackermans cell phone

Good day

I hope you are well

A while ago I did a laybuy for a cellphone at Ackermans strand. This weekend my mommy went to go and fetch the phone as I was away this weekend. When i got home monday I realised it was the wrong phone. A Nokia was given instrad of the mobicell that was laybuyed wich was not my fault.

Since yesterday I have been receiving messages via whatsapp from the staff at strand branch and I told them I dont mind bringing the phone back but because I work fulltime they need to stop harasing me and coming to my house as it is very unproffesional of them. They need to follow the correct procedure as I am a customer and it was entirely their fault and not mine.

The last message I received from one of the staff members I was told that I can keep the phone because they did not want me contacting headoffice.

So my reason for contacting you now is because I would like to know how to go about this situation. I dont mind taking the phone back but like I said it was their mistake and not mine but now allegations of me being a thief has been made by the staff and when I do take back the phone I would appreciate it if those that took part i n harrasing me all get warnings as they deserve it.

Ackermans poor customer service

Good day Sir/Madam

My name is Sibusisiwe Dondi, I went to ackermans Ngebs Mall at around11:55, I purchased 2 pairs of shoes for my Mom, then I also bought a Beanie set for my daughter, while I was paying I asked the Cashier Ncebakazi to separate the items coz we are going to different places, she gave me an attitude, saying she doesn't have small plastic bags, and she did not even pack my things, she did not take out the tag that was on the leggings, I had to come back with the security and she argued with me, but the security apologized for the incident, I know my rights as a customer, that was not accepted at all, and am the customer for ackermans for a very long tym, am buying clothes for my kidz there. I will await for your response.

Ackermans manager / staff attitude

My name is Salama Nusterdien, I went to your Landsdowne corner branch on the 18/4/19 at 11h00. I asked the lady Kaylen for assistance to return a school pants I bought at the Kenilworth Centre branch on the 17/4/19. The item was to small for my son. There was no other client in your store that I could see. I asked Kaylen if could leave for 5 minutes whiles she completes my transaction. She replied yes. Upon my return Kaylen was assisting another client with a opening of account query. I waited a few seconds, Kaylen makes eye contact and continue with her client.
I said excuse me but I was here first and am in a hurry to collect my nephew at University in Belleville. The Manager, Warren shouts from the entrance door because the client Kaylen is assisting also comments and then Warren, Kaylen and the client starts verbally threatening and physically the client wanted to attack me. Warren and Kaylen refuses to take my complaint or provide me with their Managers contact or email details. I would like this matter to be addressed as URGENT and the OMBUDSMEN COMPLAINS process to be followed.

Ackermans shoes

Good day

Bought a pair of takkies when I got home I saw that it was both left shoes one size 9 and 8... Sent someone to go and exchange at the nearest store with slip and price tag, they advised him they cant assist as he didn't buy it at ottery but at blue route he must go back to that store.

How when they one branch? They also said they can't give the money back... Blue route is far and the ottery store is closer

Ackermans cell phone problems and no prompt service from cashier and supervisor

Good day, we bought our son a premo phone on 19 december 2018 at parow store. We gave the phone to our son on christmas day and only found out the next day (26/12) that the phone overheat. We did not know the store wil be open on that boxing day and only returned it n 27 january 2019. A supervisor by the name tendeka helped us and was, that the phone will return in 4 weeks. I phoned the store on after5 and a half weeks later and was told the phone will only return after 6 weeks. Now I was patient.. So was our son. Then when I told the guy named chad that the phone was there since so ans so time he said he will have a look and and call me back. The phone was then there "apparently". We went there to collect to hear that a new batterry was assigned to the phone. I was disapointed as the lady who handled the matter did not give us any papers to verify the matter. Ok we left and then the phone got worse. Yesterday my husband took the phone back and was told that on their system it shows the phone was "apparently" in for repairs. This I feel was handled very unprofessionally and on to top it off was told they will send the phone back for repair. The sales lady told him they will phone us this morning and as you can see from me via a complaint stil no call. I honestly feel the phone was never send for repair and they just swopped the phone with another batery and because the weeks expired they did not want to look bad on their side. We dont want the phone anymore. Please help in the above matter. We cannot send you any slips as they took it from my husband and also did not give him any proof that phone is woth them. The call of today was... I dont know.

Ackermans paying hollard insurance money of which I did not ask for

In 2016 I open ackermans store account I have paid the outstanding balance of r4000.00 in 2017 after a month when I check my emails they say I owing r1300.00 of which I didn't know. I called ackermans asking about the balance the matter was handled by tenacity starting from july 2017 until january 2018 but by the time the were investigating ackermans contact center never stop calling me about the payment when I asked they would say I am owing 1300, on january they sent me an sms stating that I must go and collect a new card the dispute has been resolved even before I collected the card calls for collection never stopped. On the 21 of march I collected the card but it had a balance of r1000.00 when I asked they say its for hollard insurance of which I did not even asked for the policy they said its for all ackermans card holders when they called me to join they said I am not going to pay extra money as long my account is up to date and their interest it was too much I have struggled to pay it, it was on arrears for long time until I took same loan to pay it.

Ackermans Ackermans collection agency - tenacity inc

I opened an account with Ackermans and struggled to pay and then started making arrangements with TenacityInc. This was done telephonically. I then noticed that the agreements made telephonically was ignored by Tenacity and then I would get threats and really unprofessional made up letters.
I then requested them to just communicate with me in writing. Even after that a consultant phoned me, I dedcided (dont know why) that I will trust her and make an arrangement with her, i dont know why I wasnt surprised - nothing was noted on their system and again I am getting threats via SMS and still they keep on phonig and threatening that they are going to hand me over. In my mind I have an arrangement, but they are ignoring their own arrangements.

I do not want to deal with this company anymore, they cannot be trusted and is very unprofessional. If you cannot arrange a different arrangment, please point me in the direction to start legal complaints processes against you and tenacityinc.

I would like this sorted before Friday 01 February 2019.

Please get back to me as soon as humanly possible.
And please don't phone me as I do not trust any of them at all!

Ackermans unethical staff behaviour

To whom it may concern

Incident date: 22 December 2018 Time: at approximately 14:25

I am a customer who loves Ackerman's and always recommends it to friends but I would like to complain about a staff member by the name of Kekeletso Mahlakoana working in one of your Stores in Daveyton as a cahier. The queue on the 22nd of December was very long and when we got to till the till I realized I went over budget so I asked her to cancel 1 of the items. Her response rudely was why are you cancelling this item cant you see you are holding up the queue. I responded in disappointment and said I am a customer I have the right to do so and you cant tell me otherwise your job is to assist. She went on and said you know I don't like dealing with people like you and called her supervisor to cancel. I was very angry and ended up moving away from the desk and left my husband to pay. This is not the first time I've experienced at the very same shop. Managers and supervisors need to monitor how their staff is behaving with their clients and I need Kekeletso to be disciplined so that she learns to be polite to customers.

I suggest training to be done at Ackerman's in daveyton mall on how to give the best service and how you communicate with your customers and keep them coming back. Lately this shop in most days is empty and personally when I'm at daveyton mall and think of buying at Ackermens I always pass and rather go to Kempton park were the cashiers are friendly. If I do this, imagine how many more do the same thing. This attitude problem is bad for business. Managers and supervisors you need to do your job and always be alert of such behavior and deal with it accordingly.

Ackermans rude staff and lack of customer services

To whom it may concern.

I am absolutely appalled with the attitude of your staff at mams mall ackerman's woman
I frequently shop at this store.

I purchased a pack of bra's for myself, after 3to 4 weeks later the bra, s were torn. I took them to the store and when I get there the ladies they were soo rude and the other one said to me I wont take the sheam.

I want to exchange those bra's (not refunded)

Ackermans service

On the 9th of January, I went to buy my daughter a cap. When I got to the till, I was told my cap doesn't have a sku and was asked if there aren't anyway other caps, I responded by saying there's only character caps where I found this cap and don't believe it will be the same price. There was a lady there authorizing for the prev customer who said she will go fetch a cap. She came back with one, the cashier scanned it and while paying, I asked her how sure is she that I'm paying the correct price, she responded by saying but I told u the cap does not have a sku that's why they using the other one which is not a character cap. I said, so there are possibilities that I'm paying more or less and she asked me if I have a problem, at this point her tone had changed, I responded with not having a problem just a question to confirm the possibility of paying more or less and I also told her there's no need to be pissed cz I'm just asking a question, she responded by 'ngikutshelile kuthi ayina sku Mara solo ufuna ngi explain'. Because there was already another customer throughout my payout and the whole commotion, I decided to let her be and walked away.
As a customer who has worked in customer service for the longest time, I didn't appreciate her impatience, I think it's only my right to know that what I'm paying is equivalent to the quality I'm getting, I guess for her I was being a burden.
Please teach ur cashiers how to interact with customers especially us black customers because they treat us badly with the advantage that we will never complain.
I'm also requesting a formal apology from her for not even realizing her behavior even after I tried to calm her down.
I response will be really appreciated.

Ackermans poor services and attitude

I bought a Azumi mobile phone which the battery (model: BP-50AH) got fat/swollen and I tried getting it from different shops in Qwaqwa (free state), Bloemfontein (free state), Welkom (Free state), Newcastle (KwaZulu Natal), Johannesburg and Bethlehem (Free State) with no luck

But the Lady Manager in Bethlehem was so rude, unfriendly, unwilling to help as I asked her to help me order a new battery or give me a supplier number to call so that I can order it myself

That girl doesn't deserve that position and has no skills in customer services

Can somebody help with getting a battery please

Ackermans 5 pack bikinis for 13-14 years

I purchased a pack of bikinis for my teenage daughter at mall of the south Ackermans... two days later whe she opened the pack 2/5 of the panties were torn and the 3rd is also detached from the seems...the underwear cost R69, 95 and only two panties are off quality...I still have till slip but did not go to the shop because my daughter already wore two of the panties.

Ackermans default product

I bought a shirt and t-shirt it was 2 pack at Wonder park mall it has a quality problem. Alexandra they refuse to take it they say I have to go back to wonder park. I'm getting confused cause I can do lay- bey at wonder park and pay at Alexandra or anywhere but I can't return anywhere I don't even know when I'm going to be able to go to wonder park I will after a month or two and they will tell me they can't refund cause the product its been written of the system. I even had to fight to get my slip back, they were refusing to give me my slip back and they telling me that I won't be able to return it without the slip can someone give me a clear answer. Cause now I'm stuck with a default product and I can't return it anywhere but buy, pay at any Ackermans store I don't understand and Cashiers are allowed to chew gums on the sales floor while saving customers its unprofessional and irritating two Cashiers were chewing gums while we had wait on a long queue watching them chewing their gums the supplier they didn't do their job perfect and I'm the one who's getting punishment

Ackermans poor attitude

To hom it may corncen... I was working in a till and my assistant manager shouted me in front of the customer's she have no respect to she should have called me in da office if I did something wrong nd rectify it.. So with Thata attitude I can't work with her .. I think she needs re training of customer service.. Coz customers where talk about her attitude in front of them... Keamogetswe Pitse

Ackermans no exchange within 7 days / attitude

bought a phone at your Vangate Mall branch on the 21/12/2018 - took it back 4 days later as the speaker wasn't working properly, was told to come back 28/12/2018 as the lady that assist there is not there. went there today ( still within the 7 days as per slip), to be told they can hear anything wrong with the speaker and if i have a problem, i need to log it with the phone manufacturer, Me not them. according to the slip there is an exchange/refund policy of 7 days, which im still in but they refuse to exchange, refund or take the phone for repairs, as its apparently my responsibility to do so. On top of all of that, the Manager, Ellen, refused, flat out refused to give me her name and surname and Natalie only provided me with her name and also refused to give out her surname. I got Ellen;s name from one of the workers in the store.
As far as Im concerned, i dont want the phone fixed or exchanged, i want my money back. With such service, i cannot continue doing any form of business with people that undermine me. this is a blatant lack of respect to me, and an insult to my intelligence as it clearly states on the slip what the Stores responsibility is.

Ackermans annoying sms's

I hate the SMS's I keep on getting from Ackermans. I know I have to pay my account every month and I don't want an annoying SMS to remind me of that. If this spamming of SMS's doesn't stop, then I will gladly close this account. I have an account at Woolworths and they don't unnecessarily spam me with annoying SMS's like Ackermans. I've had my Woolworths account for long and I intend to keep it for long because they respect me. Ackermans stop sending me SMS's, you're really annoying me!
