let my infection go on
I had been going to Aspen Dental for a while, complaining about a toothache. They didn't even look at the tooth that hurt and instead told me I needed a root canal on a different tooth. Then, they said that I would have to get my root canal before they would do anything else to my teeth. So, I left and didn't get a root canal right away because I won't have insurance until July. My other tooth started hurting more and more and got an infection. My gum swelled up. So, I called first thing in the morning to tell them about it. They said they would talk to the doctor and he would probably write me a prescription. He never called back. I called 4 times during the day and they were annoyed that I was calling, but my cheek was starting to swell also and I was crying and crying from the pain. Finally, I drove there and asked them what was going on. They told me that the receptionist had already gone home for the day; they took one look at me and finally took me serious. It seems like you have to force them to do anything!

selling techniques
My daughter went to the above for an appt. she made to take care of a wisdom tooth problem. She has been in alot of pain with them off and on but finally her place of employment offered Dental Insurance so she thought she would finally be able to get her problem fixed and be out of pain. She was planning on having any other work done as needed when her wisdom teeth were finally extracted and gum tissue was healed. She first had to wait even though there was no patients in the inner rooms, found out when no others came out after she went in, then x-rays, which were expected, but after the x-rays were read by the "dentist" there followed "many other important things that had to be taken care of first". Now, how important is it for a patient to be out of pain and maybe put on antibiotics in case of infection before we do "many other important things". One of the "important things was a "gum wash" and a couple of root canals on other teeth which show no infection and of course she didn't have pain there or she would have told them. The thing she went in for wasn't scheduled for another 6 WEEKS! I told her it sounded like going for a new car and getting the options first! Sounded like a salesmen instead of a dentist! She came out of the office after almost 2 HOURS with nothing done except a selling conference, still in pain, still infection maybe and by the way she wasn't asking for any meds, she can't take alot of the pain meds because of allergy to them, but maybe some relief of some kind and maybe some antibiotics in case of infection but all she got was some one who has lost the real reason for becoming a dentist and has turned into a "salesman". Please if anyone has a dental problem find someone that cares about people, there are those that still exist. What a rip-off!
I am a student at MSU and have been to Aspen dental, but I take good care of my teeth. So no big problems. But everytime I have been there I have been there I have been treated with respect. Maybe call them and talk about it instead of holding a grudge. If you go there see Dr. Gil. Your opinion might change.
when was the last time your daughter saw a dentist...could be they were making aware of all the problems..Was she referred to Oral surgeon..Not all dentists can take out wisdom teeth. It appears she didnt get any treatment. I know Aspen has free exams. Did she pay anything.
If you dont agree with the TX PLan, seek a second opinion

broke my tooth
i went to have a tooth extracted. upon extracting my damaged tooth dentist broke my tooth next to it. she did absolutely nothing for me she said oh it would have just broke anyway at some time. she put a temporary filling in at no charge.my tooth was intact not broken in anyway. i've been stewing about this for 6 weeks now. i believe she should have offered to fix the tooth she broke. i would not recommend aspen dental in biddeford maine.

misdiagnosed and charged for services not needed or provided
I went to aspen dental in NH for a cleaning and checkup. It was the only place in town that took my insurance.
After several visits and a couple of fillings (that have needed to be replaced since due to decay beneath) and correction of one of the fillings that was too high and giving me migraines, they determined that I had advanced gum disease because after seeing them for a year they never did a cleaning.
Now they wanted to do a deep cleaning that was going to cost several thousand dollars, the first stage of which was approximately $1800. The hygienist actually apologized saying it was their fault for not giving me a cleaning earlier.
After being coerced to apply for a care credit card they charged me for treatments that had not been done. When I asked them to removed them they refused. I was then informed that I needed to pay for the several visits of treatment before they were scheduled, and was advised "that's how we do it".
These treatments have never been done and I have since moved back to NY and have never been able to get them removed.
Ralden,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Aspen Dental doctors are focused on providing comprehensive care, which means that they not only want to address any immediate problems that may cause pain or discomfort in the short-term, but also recommend dental treatment for long-lasting good health.
Although I know you are now seeing your old dentist, please don't hesitate to call the patient satisfaction team here. They can answer any questions you may have about your initial visit and experience. Or, you can send an e-mail to patientservices@aspendent.com

All of Allie's fine customer service boilerplate aside, I do feel that this chain, overall, scams patients into unnecessary "deep cleanings." I have very good teeth. One cavity from 20 years ago. Regular cleanings every six months. I went to Aspen Dentail because my current dentist would no longer be able to see me on Saturdays. My visit began with a consultation, because they will not do a regular cleaning without the consultation, which is really because they need the opportunity to impress upon you how much you need their more expensive services.
I was told that I needed to have a deep cleaning/scaling 5mm below my gumline to save a tooth that was deemed a "4" (all the others were 1-2s). I asked if there were steps I could take that were less drastic, before moving on to this procedure. I was told no, and that I was in dire need of immediate treatment. I was then instructed to wait in the waiting room for an office manager who would figure out what my bill was going to be for this cleaning before I could schedule an appointment.
After waiting an hour for the office manager, I decided something just didn't feel right. I left without meeting her or scheduling an appointment. I then want to to see my old dentist, and told him about the experience. He reassured me that this gum area was fine. No deep invasive procedure was necessary. He did say that the pocket was about a 3, but could be easily reduced by regular use of a waterpik.
I went online and saw dozens of complaints about basically the same experience--pressure to have a deep cleaning at great expense, questionable billing practices, etc. I am glad I sidestepped this practice.
I’m very sorry to hear about your frustrations. I will pass on your note to the patient satisfaction team. However, since I do not have your name or the specific office you visited in NH, you may want to call the team directly at [protected].
The patient satisfaction team is trained to help resolve these types of issues. They can also be reached at patientservices@aspendent.com
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help

poor customer service, poor work
I want to let the people at Aspen Dental how dissatisfied I am with the service I have received in the past months. I had 4 teeth pulled and went through the whole procedure to receive a partial denture. In order for me to do this I had to apply for a credit care called Care Credit. I was told that it would cost me $3475.00. I was approved for that amount and the bill was paid. I then was told that I would have to wait at least three months to receive the permanent partial which I did wearing the temporary partial. At each visit I was told to make appointments within the time frame I was told but I could never get an appointment. The appointments were far in between. So my three months of waiting has turned into 6 months. Not to mention that on two occasions I was called to change my appointment due to the doctor not being there or that my dentures had not been delivered. Again this prolonged me in receiving my denture. On May 17, 2010 my appointment was at 4p.m., I waited for over half hour to be seen but before I was seen I was approached by the receptionist and she informed me that I had a balance of $647.00 that was due and if not paid, I would not receive my denture. I informed the receptionist that my bill had been paid in full and she continued to disagree with me. This woman had no clue or knowledge of her job and failed to look further through my chart which the manager pointed out to her that in fact my bill was paid in full. However, this did not stop here. Once I brought back to be seen by the doctor, it was a different doctor that has never seen me before. They put the new permanent denture in my mouth and it did fit properly but I knew that adjustments would need to be done, but then she handed me the mirror and to my surprise, the one tooth was a completely different shade than my natural teeth, and the tooth was half the size. Now I never have a college to become a dentist, but how in the hell can u screw this up. The number shade that was chosen for the partial is a 66 and the shade someone chose for the permanent is a 62. How can this be screwed up. Then the doctor tried to convince that it looked it great. That is when I refused the denture and demanded that I get new one made. They did not like it and did not want to hear that. I told them I am not going to be paying almost 3500.00 for something that did not fit, did not look natural. Now I have to another 2 weeks for an appointment when I was told to come back in 4 days. I have to go through another bite fitting, and god knows what else. In the meantime, I have been paying on this credit card and I still have yet to receive my denture. I would never recommend this dental office to anyone.
Darnell,

took forever familar stories
After filing out 4 pages of paperwork even before talking about expense., first thing was a sign on the window saying dentures at 249.00...after about 3/4 of a hour, we mention the price on the window and she said we would get them at that price..original price was 399.00 after another hour goes by...they take free x-rays of my 5 teeth that are left..then another hour goes by and finally called in to the dentist...another hour goes by...meanwhile I still have infected lower tooth that they would not pull...he finally checks me and then recommends denture...after that I now get to meet the office manager with the new price...1368 dollars for the lower denture...crap I say after she included a 30 percent discount...finally we got out of their and I will never go back to a company that uses tactics like this...fortunately my son was their to witness this...what kind of crap is this.a scam for sure...

aspen dental latham
I've never had such a disappointing dental visit in my life until I tried Apen Dental. As a first visit, I have always had a cleaning and then a dental examination. I had a 4pm appointment and was not seen until 5pm and it was a 10 minute check from the dentist never having had a cleaning! I did not have x-rays taken since my former dentist did so 7 months prior. TODAY I received my insurance claim showing that xrays were taken on 4/15! And that I owe them over $100 for non-existent x-rays! This is PREPOSTEROUS! This 10 minute glance at my teeth now costs over $500! Now I need to waste more valuable time letting my two insurance companies know of this falsified insurance claim from Aspen Dental and how they need to somehow be reimbursed. The dentist himself brought my paperwork to the cashier and they checked me out. (which seemed strange, normally a dentist is too occupied to do the financial paperwork). I know my family and friends will never utilize Aspen Dental again.

Hey Colleen,
Your previous (& probably old dentist) did not have your best interest at heart if your teeth were cleaned without an examination & actual diagnosis. Let me guess, no one even measured your gum depths at your previous dentist either (another sign of inept care). The aspen dentist walked you to the desk to probably increase the level of customer service for you instead of passing you off to some lackey. Wow, you really are ignorant. I bet you probably also think your insurance company is looking out for your best interest as well when they say they will not pay for expensive treatments but only the silver fillings & basic cleanings. Keep following the rest of the herd little lamb.
Colleen,

poor service
We started using Aspen Dental in the spring of 2009, after we relocated to Indiana in the fall of 2008. I haven't had one good visit from 2008 and present. The employees don't really care if you wait an excessive amount of time. There is no communication between the client and the personnel. The receptionist would rather eat than familiarize herself with the clients. I've had to handle the communication between my insurance company and Aspen. Never can I remember a time that I haven't had to call up and 'scold' someone regarding my bills. All cleanings and routine x-rays are covered, yet I get a bill and have to make calls every time we've had them perform a service. So, now that a new dental office has opened in my area that handles my insurance, we have made the choice to move, yet again. Anyone that is looking for a dental provider stay CLEAR of Aspen Dental. You will have more headaches, or toothaches, respectively than you will want to take on. Contact your insurance company to get a list of their approved, in-network, dental providers. And, if they deal with Aspen, turn them on to this site and others that have multiple listings of complaints against this company. Don't bother complaining to the corporate office. You won't get anywhere.

Aspen Dental opened an office in Columbus Georgia in September 2013. I am in the process of getting a partial, When they pulled the 2 molar's I was told the partial was 500.00 plus almost 400 for pulling the 2 teeth. I had already paid in full for the teeth that were pulled before they pulled them. After the 2 teeth were pulled I was told the bill was now a 1, 000.00. I said that can't be right, they were going to charge me 500.00 for a temporary ( that I could not have used as the jaw bone was showing ) plus the 500.00 for the partial. I told them no one had mentioned charging me for a temporary that I could not use. The charge for the temporary was removed, then they made it for the next week to make a mold. I called 2 days before to cancel as my mouth was too sore and had to almost argue with the girl to cancel.
. When I did go, the Dentiist told me I need 2 months to heal before the mold is done. I got my visit for June 10 on a card they give you/. Now I am getting letters telling me to make my appt. I called and was told that I am not scheduled for another visit There is also a sharp piece of tooth that was left that has to be removed.. I am getting a a lot of doubts about the place and it is aggravating.
I went to aspen dental 12/08. I had a tooth extracted and was fitted for a temporary partial. One of the clasp had to be cut off because it did not line up with my teeth, one tooth on it had to be cut down it was nothing like my original tooth. After having a cleaning, my permanent bridge fell out.nothing to hold the temp. partial in. I went in and asked them to cut off the existing clasp sitting in my mouth attached to nothing. They had no one to do this. So I went home and removed it myself. Upon getting fitted for a cap it was discovered my tooth that was extracted was not completely removed. They had to remove the rest of the tooth. I did not even get a "sorry about that". I was notified my cap was in, low and behold it didn't fit. I have notified the BBB and will be seeking out a lawyer. Stay away from Aspen Dental. We need to file a class action law suit.
I went to Aspen Dental on Illinois Road in Fort Wayne Indiana on 11/28/08. This was my first visit, I decided to try Aspen Dental because it was close to my home and my other dentist was clear across town. My appointment was for 10:00 am. I filled out my paper work and wait for about 25 minutes. I was going in for a cleaning however was told that i would have to get x-rays first and then come back at a later date for my cleaning. During the x-ray process i was hit with the x-ray machine several times and it was even dropped on my clavicle bone. After the x-rays I was taken to a room and told to wait for the doctor. In the room beside me a lady was throwing up non stop. Why would anyone want to hear that. Her husband was in the room with her and was telling someone on his cell phone that she was very sick due to getting an infection after having a crown done by Aspen Dental. I thought maybe this was a bad choice coming here. I waited and waited, 30 minutes later the office manager came in and told me the doctor would be in shortly. It was now 11:30. I asked her if shortly meant 5 minutes or 30 minutes. She said she wasn't gonna lie to me and it was probably not going to be 5 minutes. She said she knew I was probably upset because I had to listen to the poor women in the room beside me throwing up but they did not have any other rooms to put me in. She asked me if i would like to reschedule. I told her no, and that i would just go to the dentist i have been going to for years. She told me she understood and there would not be any charge. This was the worst experience ever. I have been sure to tell everyone how awful my Aspen Dental experience was and I will continue to tell everyone.
My poor experiences with this company occurred over the course of 2007. I finally was enrolled with dental insurance, so I picked a dentist and went for it. They priced out all my work to be a little over 1500 dollars. And signed me up for care credit without fully explaining that I would be billed by care credit before any work was even done! So that was the first issue. Then finally I began having work done...and the trouble REALLY begins. I went for a routine cavity filling, the guy drills into a tooth i never even felt any pain in, and stops after a minute and says that the cavity is too deep and that I need root canal! WHAT?! So he put a temp filling in it and sent me on my way, it fell out that night and I still have not been able to have it fixed. The next time I went I had extreme pain in a tooth that I know needed to either be pulled or have root canal. I couldn't afford a root canal and asked them to pull it. They refused to pull it and did a pulpotomy to "hold me over". Well, the infection never went away and the reason I wanted it pulled was because I was losing my coverage soon due to an upcoming move. I called to say that it hadn't worked and the woman I spoke with told me that they had told me I needed a root canal and this was just a temporary fix. It wasn't a fix at all! She got an ear full from me and I haven't called back since. On top of the bad service, the people who work for aspen dental are not compassionate or understanding of any fears a person may have of the dentist and made me feel childish and stupid for having trouble with that, when on their website they claimed to be very understanding of that sort of thing. My suggestion if you are looking for a good dentist, use the tried and true word of mouth method to find one, because people are honest about service when it comes to someone working on their mouth!
I came in to have my teeth pulled because of periodontal disease and they said they would not pull my good teeth only the damaged ones. They said they could fill the ones with cavities and put crowns on, and make and upper and lower partial. I only have 3 upper real teeth, and wanted dentures for the top. But they insisted that they would not pull the good teeth. Isn't it my choice since i will be paying for them. I think they just wanted to do all the fixes so they could charge me more money. I have a temp bottom partial that I can wear but have to remove to eat cause it pops out as soon as i bite down. But this is the only dentist that my insurance will pay for. What a pity.
I went to see a Dr. at Aspen dental in Waterford CT. After giving them a lot of money and not getting any work done I tried to go to another Aspen office to get the work done. I went to the office in Lisbon CT. I went in they did a whole new exam and charged me even more money since the two outcomes were not the same. I went for a series of appointments to get my dentures made before I had my teeth pulled. On the day I got my teeth pulled the Dr was an hour late and then she pulled out the wrong bottom teeth. It has been 4 weeks and they are still making me the right bottom denture since I now have different teeth than I was supposed to and I have been walking around without bottom teeth in the front.
The whole office lies and says it was because they were bad teeth well someone could have stopped and consulted me if that were true I think the Dr didnt look at her notes and just started pulling.
I have used Aspen Dental in Waterford for a few years and they have done 'ok' work, but nowhere near as good as Bridgeworks in Groton. The only reason I went to Aspen was they were one of the few places covered by my insurance. Anyways the problem I have with Aspen is they make it difficult to go in and get work done without always playing above and beyond what insurance pays. Even when they do agree you come in and find out they scheduled you for the extra work anyways. If you refused they will give you a 'tell it to the hand' attitude and to just go away and reschedule for another day. Of course scheduling with Aspen is a very time consuming process because you have to more than meet them half way and deal with arm twisting with the work they want to do. Bottom line, if you are not ready to pay all kinds of extra money to get work done, expect decent customer service, and don't like people wasting you time -then don't go to Aspen dental.
I called Aspen Dental in Concord NH to get an emergency appt for a broken tooth. They did fit me right in the next night after 5pm. When I got there they took me back for x rays and then I moved to another room. The dentist came in, looked at the xrays and then my tooth. He said that should hurt since the nerve is exposed. The hygenist then took me up from to speak with the lady in credit. I was confused, I made the appointment because I was in severe pain, I was already in the chair- fix it or pull it. I sat with the credit lady and gave her my insurance info and she gave me the cost, I said fine and can I go back now? HA HA! I had to make an appointment. I almost fell out of the chair. At this point, I was in tears. They gave me an appointment for a week laster, I expressed to her my disbelief at this whole procedure. She replied with it simply being the policy. I was able to get the appointment moved to to two days later. The tooth was pulled and I was charged a higher rate, but what do you do when you are in agony, looking at the chair and the dentist that will fix ti all for you? You pay it. The free cleanign and xrays were charged to my insurance. Complaining to Aspen Dental doesn't help. The policy is that if you have insurance, you pay, if you don't have insurance, it's free. I asked if I was better off not giving my insurance information. No response to that from them. Absolutley horrible company to deal with with.
I went to Aspen Dental back in April 2009...the service was terrible. The dentist who performed the evaluation on my teeth was nothing but a high minded arrogant buffoon. The office I visited is located in Mayfield Hts., Ohio...I will never again go to that office, neither would I ever recommend anyone to go there. I would never again let anyone with the attitude this fool had do any work on my mouth again...he just plain old did not know how to talk to people. I don't see how they let him continue to practice dentistry!
my lawyer told me to have no contact I tried that route already.
service and prices
Set up appointment 4/12; Jessica told me to be there early to fill out paperwork. Appt 9:00a.m. 4/14; was there at 8:50; no receptionest or any one, signed in, took clip board to fill out paperwork, 9:20 finally went to person there asking what I was waiting for. Said paperwork, and I gave it to her completed. She said she had to set up my file. Three women in area talking about personal things, not customers. Associate came out took me in for x-rays (did not want, wanted denture repaired) but had to do it. Then to dentist who went on to say my denture was old, needed replacing. Told him wanted this denture repaired, it is perfect except for broken tooth; stated $100-$300. Sent me out putting my denture in my hand to the waiting room. I was called in for quote of $130. I walked out with my denture in hand, and they could have cared less. My private dentist never charged over $75. YOU WONDER WHY THE UNITED STATES IS IN TROUBLE ECONOMICALLY. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE, "DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER", NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND ALL THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IS $$$$$. AMERICA IS IN TROUBLE.

I had a tooth extracted on a Thursday. Top wisdom tooth, I noticed it was getting infected on Saturday night and called Aspen dental emergency number Sunday morning. I spoke to the answering service and a dentist was supposed to call me back but didn't. I called back again and they had the wrong information, the dentist finally called back and seemed to be irritated by my request for an anti-biotic. By this time I could feel sharp pieces starting to stick out of my swollen gums and a nasty taste and smell. I called the dentist back tuesday to ask them if it was normal that I was pulling little chunks of tooth out of my infected gums. He told me I needed to let the anti-biotic have more time to work and that he had showed me the whole tooth he had pulled out. I asked about the pieces that were sticking out of the gums and he again said the tooth came out whole. I said I was in a lot of pain and was there anything else I could do to stop the smell and nasty taste, he said he had already given me pain medication and wasn't going to give me more. I WAS NOT ASKING ABOUT PAIN MEDICATION, Is that what he thought I was calling for? It really seemed that way, I am so sick of these doctors that constantly think people are looking for pain medication. Check my file pal, I already have pain medication prescribed to me! Or maybe he was mad that he told me I needed a root canal and I told him NO, just pull it. It was the very back tooth on top, why would I need a root canal. Ohh, because you make money when I get that done, and get nothing for an extaction. It's still infected but feels better since I pulled 3 little chunks of tooth from the area. I will never go to Aspen dental again!

too expencive
From the moment I walked through the door I knew there was a problem. First I stood there 15 minutes while an employee discussed/with her back to me/with another patient her financial agreement.
Should have walked out.
Then I have my xrays and exam and the dentist tells me I need a 300.00 cleaning and extensive and very expensive cosmetic work not that she ever mentions the sum. To much of a doctor to talk money let the peasants do that while she just sneaks up behind you and steals it out of your pocket. I tell her I just had my teeth cleaned 6 months ago but she insisted and talked about how happy it would make HER to see my smile brightened. Yea I'll bet that $6000 would have made HER real happy.
Didn't fall for their "used car" salesmanship b.s and skeedaddled out of there. And am glad I walked away.
I am only posting because this woman who's video was linked here has asked that people quit posting that it could be harmful to this dentist to keep posting. Ok some of the words used are ugly but dental work is scary for some people the dentist office is not the place you want to spend your day and then to bump into this kind of dentist makes it worse.
My recommendation is to find a dentist with an established practice and his name on the door. Talk to you neighbors if you're new in the area and find someone you can trust.
Don't go to someone just because you have a COUPON!

we were a little slow we have done paid the money up front so we are hooked lined and sinker-ed
shady company
I would not recommend anyone to be affiliate with the office OR any aspen office. The Dr. and the manager don’t care about the patients it’s all about money with these people. Be aware the Dr Lee will offer you things that you don’t need just so he can make his monthly budget. They make the patients wait for hours in the waiting room because they over book patients for MONEY. AND NEVER get particles or denture from aspen as they will never fit right because there are to many cases for one to be done correctly. Also watch the treatment plan they give you, as it will included treatment for your teeth that wasn’t explain to you or something extra to increase your balance. It’s very sad that the company allows for this to happen and they all work together so the head of the company knows about the shadiness CUZ HE CREATED IT !

I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t satisfied with your recent experience at the Hamden office. pulled wrong tooth & wants me to pay
I earlier posted that I had gone to Afdent, when it was ASPEN Dental in Goshen near Meijers. I called and made an appt to have a tooth pulled. Specifically told them which tooth. The day of the appt the dentist asked and once again I told him the last tooth on the bottom right side. Here is my warning...MAKE SURE YOU HIGHLIGHT/PUT A STICKY NOTE ON THE...

We have just received a bill from Aspen Dental for $1402.00 for services that were already paid for through Care Credit months ago. The office manager is now trying to tell my husband that these partials were not covered under the $2766.00 that was put on Care Credit. However both of us distinctively heard the office manager tell us in that initial office visit they were covered under that $2766.00, this was also confirmed to my husband a couple months ago when they called to set up the appointment to have these partials made and he was told by the person at Aspen that yes they were already paid for. So now they say no that they were not, we don't have the funds to pay this $1402.00 bill. These people, we have come to find out are Wolves in Sheeps clothing. We will never use any of their facilities again, we will live in pain until we can find a dentist office with ETHICS to help us instead of ever utilizing Aspen Dental or any other chain Dental office.

rip off and false diagnosis
I visited the Mishawaka, IN location of Aspen Dental because it was the only place that gave me a 'discount' on my dental plan. After a 2 hour HORRIBLE and painful experience getting xrays and the free 'examination', I was told I had 8 cavities and periodontal disease. I have never had a cavity or any dental issues. The final bill for recommended treatment after the 'discount' was going to be $3, 500! I walked out and visited a real dentist. After xrays, cleaning, and exam, I was told I had ZERO cavities and my gums were fine - no periodontal disease or gingivitis. Aspen Dental is a COMPLETE RIP OFF and SCAM! After asking around and sharing my story I have heard of numerous people with the same experience!

service and fraud
I made an appointment as a new patient for my 6 month check-up. We just moved into the Reading area and Aspen Dental accepted our insurance. I sat in the waiting room (the office staff was very friendly) for 20 minutes. Was given a full set up x-rays and then taken to an exam room where I sat for an additional 25 minutes. The dentist came back, looked at my teeth and then told me I needed to see the office manager to set up an appointment for a cleaning. I was shocked! Why else had I just gone to the dentist? Now, my insurance will be billed for an office visit that is not even legitimate and I must take off another day of work to see a legitmate dentist. She also informed me I had a cavity and upon a 2nd consult, this was not true.

Our doctors are focused on providing comprehensive care, which means that we not only want to address any immediate problems that may cause pain or discomfort in the short-term, but also recommend dental treatment for long-lasting good health. This is why your doctor did not perform a cleaning on your initial visit, he needed to first examine your mouth and determine which type of cleaning would be the best fit for your needs.

tooth extraction/dry socket
I went to Aspen to have a tooth extracted. It was difficult because the tooth was sharp and broken off as the filling had fallen out. I realized it was not healing. I believe he the dentist ( professional) had sewn the inside of my cheek to the gum. After a week of terrible pain, I went back in with dry socket, and infection. She (another dentist) cleaned and packed it, But she would NOT listen to my complaint of how it was stitched. She wanted me back in two days. On Wed. 24th of Mar. (another day from hell, another doctor. Dr. Markovitch!(butcher)! I proceeded to tell him how much pain I was in and he started telling me he was the Dr. and he knew what was wrong...DRY SOCKET! He started to poke around in my mouth (tender and sore and swollen). He asked if he could work on it without novocaine and I said no. He gave me two shots of whatever that did not take! He then went on to dig and clean and stitch when I could feel everything. Seriously I would rather have a baby than go through that pain again. He did not care...I was crying and yelling and he said, " WE have a screamer here!" He was cold, uncaring and rude to me! I was there three times in 9 days and no one could fix the problem because no one would listen...The stitching wouldn't hold because it's wrong. The infection won't go away because the hole won't close, and I am still in a lot of pain! I don't wish this kind of treatment on anybody. So, if you want to be treated like a human being, do NOT go to Aspen Dental!

deep cleaning scam
I went to aspen dental with my "free x-rays and cleaning" coupon...I did get my x-rays, but they said they could *not* clean my teeth because I needed a "deep cleaning" procedure that would cost over $700 (the procedure sounded lengthy and painful, so I never even considered it). There other costs were very high, so I ended up at another dental office...

I got dentures from aspen dental. Foolishly agreed to upgrade my package to the "best" dentures and now I am afraid i'm stuck. Not only do they fit poorly but the doctor doesn't seem to even know how to fix the fit. I'm on my second one and it really isn't any better.

lied to take money
Aspen dental is the worst dentist I've ever been to totally lied to me to get my cash of 2, 000.00 and then did'nt finish the job stayed in pain until I got a new dentist now my smile is a smile Yeah for real dentist check there credentials before doing anything to your mouth like check to see if they have a college degree because if your getting partials they'll be some kind of imitation goop that dries and causes your gum's nothing but pain . There moving into these cities fast like Keizer, Oregon to take peoplesmoney if you go to a Dr.Charles hartman you better have him check your eyes because he does't know anything about teeth!{GUARANTEED}

you got free exam without a single penny ..still complaining
Brenda, maybe ones where you live at have in house financing but the ones I have gone to do not offer any type of financing and expect payment at the time of service. I have dental insurance and one office called the wrong number, called the health insurance part of the company, and was told I had no insurance. I got a call from the office where they demanded I come down there that afternoon and settle the bill. I told the lady I would call the insurance co and she said that I need to come down there that afternoon and pay it anyway until I 'worked' it out with my insurance co.
Every office I have been to expects payment at the time of services. Some have even made you pay your portion of the insurance before you even see the dentist.
If you don't have dental insurance nor have money to pay for it, it may be the only option. Root canals are mighty pricey.
The first thing you should have done when the dentist told you he wouldn't do anything about the tooth that actually hurt until you got a root canal was to leave and make an appointment with another dentist. BTW, if the pain in question was referred pain coming from the tooth that needed the root canal and you could not afford the root canal, the dentist could have offered to pull the tooth.
