poor management
My husband and I have been going to the Milford, OH Bob Evans for many years. We always have had great experiences until lately. The last 3 visits were not good. Every single time something we ordered had run out. Yesterday, 3-14-18, they ran out of napkins and we had to use paper towels. The silverware was dirty, my baby carrots were extremely over cooked (tough and prune-looking)... did not eat them. My peach ice-tea was awful. Requested new one which wasn't much better. ... tired of complaining about things. There has to have been a change in Management at this location ... that is the only thing we can think of that would change the service and availability of menu items. We can understand once in a while, but three visits in a row. We won't be back. It's unfortunate, because that location is only 5 minutes from our house.
the customer service
Ordered online and waited an hour then went to pick up my meal. The employee rudely told us that our food was not ready and they had no turkey which was one of the meals we ordered. All the manger said was sorry I tried to call you. There is absolutely no way they called. He did not seem concerned at all. I will tell everyone about the service we received

Bob Evans Restaurant #182
Server: Tara
Cashier: Cynthia
Ticket #30026
I have loved eating at Bob Evans since our move to Ohio in 1998. In recent months, your restaurant chain seems to be on a downward spiral. in terms of quality and service.
Breakfast is served all day, as long as you don't order oatmeal, which is only served until 11:00 am. Whoever heard of a restaurant serving breakfast, but limiting hot oatmeal to only the morning hours? What about shift workers? What about vacationing families? What about people who like oatmeal any time of day? What about people with cholesterol issues who eat oats as a way of bringing down cholesterol?
Lunch and Dinner start early, but, according to store #182, you can't get Homestyle Fried Boneless Chicken Breasts until after 4:00 pm, even though the menu does not state this, nor does your national website specify this.
(See https://www.bobevans.com/our-restaurants/menu/dinner#chicken)
We pointed this out to our waitress, and told her we were not asking for the Homestyle Bone-In Fried Chicken, but the Homestyle Boneless Chicken Breasts, she told us the menu was wrong. Whoever heard of a restaurant offering a menu item, with no written restrictions? Whoever heard of a restaurant offering Fried Boneless Chicken Breast, but not for lunch?
No oatmeal after 11:00 am; no fried chicken (except fingers) until after 4:00 pm. What's up with that?
My Chicken Fried Steak tasted like moldy cardboard, the white gravy tasted like flour, and my hash browns were uncooked--raw potatoes with no browning on them at all. I told the waitress, she offered no replacement, but the manager took my meal off my ticket at the register. I wasn't there for a free meal that tasted like cardboard and raw potatoes, I was there to eat with my wife.
My wife's chicken fingers were filled with gristle, and the breading was almost too crunchy.
Everything was over salted.
Perhaps the saddest part was the scrambled eggs. Every other restaurant or diner I visit knows how to do scrambled eggs: fluffy, robust, a mountain of tasty goodness. Apparently Bob Evans has changed their kitchen training. My scrambled eggs were like liquid eggs, painted into the bottom of a skillet, cooked through, then folded up like a semi-transparent crepe onto the plate. This results in a rubbery, tasteless, failed omelet, with crispy tendrils on the edges; these were not scrambled eggs.
We enjoyed the coffee.
The menu looks great, but you can't trust what you find in it. The service is poorly trained and not at all helpful. The management is harried and not a good representative of the Bob Evans brand. I hope Bob Evans gets things turned around soon. There is Cracker Barrel, Denny's, IHOP, Village Inn, and Waffle House contending for my patronage, not to mention regional favorites like Uncle John's, Scrambler Marie's, and more. The best service, the best menu, and the best taste will always win my business.
My desired resolution? A candid, respectful explanation of what is happening to Bob Evans or within Bob Evans, and a specific explanation and plan of action to assure me your company is not only willing to improve things, but actively working on these improvements.
raspberry vinaigrette dressing
I am upset that this product have to be made with high fructose corn syrup!
Everyone knows this product is not good for public consumption but yet you put it in your products, please tell me why?
I have been going to your restaurant for decades. I love the service and the value but I'm willing to pay more for a better product.
Please respond to my request to tell me what other products at your restaurant contain this ingredient.
Thank you in advance

service and food
May 7 2018 Bob Evans 4001 McCorkle Ave SW South Charleston WV ID [protected]. 18:39:29 seated immediately but waited 7 minutes for waitress, gave her drink order and food order as we were ready to order having had enough time to go over menu. We then waited ten minutes for our drinks and soup and salad to be delivered. Finished our soup/salad and sat and waited about 15 minutes when the manager finally delivered out entrees. asked if we wanted more tea, both said yes and lemons, delivered one tea no lemon. Broccoli on husband plate was cold, could not find waitress to complain. the table next to us was piled with the dirty dishes from all the tables in the area. this restaurant was not busy or crowded, services was so slow, waitress took forever to bring our desert in to go containers and our bill. I will never go back to this restaurant. Cooks in kitchen need to get orders more quickly, waitresses need to do their job, management from the top needs to come in and assess the lack of caring in this place'
staff negligence
The floor was wet from cleaning but the wet floor sign was nowhere near the wet spot, and one of my party slipped and fell, but she remained unharmed. However, the staff did not ask if she was okay and two even said to each other "Oh my god, did she fall?" in earshot and in a mocking way. This was a terrible end to an otherwise fine night and I am appalled at this clear lack of training or even basic empathy.
cleanliness and acceptable food
My best friend & I took my 3 grandchildren to the local Bob Evans in Park Shopping Center Parkersburg WV. I've been here many times and the food was always good. On this evening there was no wait and we were seated immediately. It took some time for a server to come, but she was friendly although probably a newbie. She handed us the menus and left. Upon opening the menus it was just shocking how filthy they were. I don't mean a little grease or a smudge. I mean gross so that we all bathed our hands in antibacterial gel before we could even consider eating. She took our order and we waited at least 30-40 min for our food. When the food came it was not good. I had ordered a chopped steak with green beans and cole slaw. The chopped steak was supposed to have mushrooms & onions. It had a few cut up onions and maybe 3 sliced mushrooms both dry as can be with an over cooked chopped steak. I ate it but it was sub par. As for the cole slaw, let's just say I hope I don't get sick from eating it! I love BE cole slaw! Everybody else had ok food. I complained to the manager & she comped all our meals. I just don't want anybody gettting sick. Bob Evans restaurants have always been safe places for me to eat. Thank you for your time.
pets
To whom ever cares:
Pets being allowed in your restaurants
Hello my name is paul and my brother and mother and me went to the Bob Evans at 4115 14th St w in Bradenton Florida on May 2 around 4:30 pm. We were greeted by the manager and waitress and sat down after a short time we ordered our drinks and meals. My mother had the chicken parmesan and my brother ordered the grilled chicken while I ordered the country fried steak with the soup and dessert.
The waitress brought us the bread with no plates and the soup at the same time. The soup was good but when I was about halfway done with the soup the management let a couple in that had a dog not a service animal. The couple had a vest and hat on the dog it was a small dog so they carried it to the front door.
Unfortunately with my allergies I refuse to eat in a restaurant that allows pets inside to eat with their owners. If it was truly a service animal I would of asked they be moved to the other side of the restaurant. Unfortunately since I know it was not a service animal and they were sitting close to me I left with half my bowl of soup on the table and went outside and sat down on the curb.
Not too long after that my mother and brother came out with all three meals in a to go box which is a shame because when you go out to eat you like to eat at that restaurant not sit down and order your meal and then have to leave because someone wants to bring in pets and no one in the restaurant will say no to them for fear of getting in trouble.
My brother advised me that him and my mother were served their food and then the waitress asked if they would like to move to the other side of the restaurant which again shows the couple with the pet is more important because the management does not want to offend them from bringing in their pet.
My brother asked for to go boxes because nothing could be done with the couple with the pet dog and my brother and mother were asked to move after they got their food while nothing was said to couple with the pet dog for fear of upsetting them.
My brother paid cash and he said he was not given a receipt so I do not have receipt number with time of day and waitress that served us my brother also said that the manager did not come out to the floor and say or do anything it was like we don't care about you but we do not want to offend the couple that brings their pet dog in the restaurant to eat with them.
I like going to your restaurant but if they keep allowing people to bring in their pets which in most restaurants is against the law unless it is a true service animal not a pet with a hat that has to be carried.
Totally upset over having to leave because a couple was allowed to bring in their pet and then my brother and mother were asked to move after they got their food because management did not want to upset someone that brought their pet in with them.
food
We were in and ordered steak and shrimp meal the steak came out without any shrimp we told our waitress she did go and put the order in for that... when we got the steak it was over cooked and almost so hard we couldn't finish it which wasn't her fault... I have never had steak from there before but won't again guess we should just stick to breakfast food which we haven't ever had any troubles with that..it's just when I throw down 50.00 dollars for a meal I expect it to be a good meal.. guess lesson learned and then my husband went up and paid and we were still getting our things together and as we went out of the door she asked my son and I to stop and asked if we had paid same girl that had seated us an hr earlier... was kind of embarrassing to say the least... good thing my husband had gotten a receipt... this was bob Evans in waverly Ohio which we won't be going back there any time soon...
unsanitary staff member
On 4/29 at approx. 6:15pm I was in Bob Evans in Marysville Ohio to pick up a "to go" order. The waitress that was taking an order via the phone and running the cash register was wiping her nose with her hands repeatedly. I thought if she saw me looking at her, she would stop but it continued the whole time I was in your restaurant.
The store # is 556. The address is 1080 Lydia Drive, Marysville, OH 43040
The waitresses name was Maddie.
My total sale amount was $26.97
I would like a refund or at least 1 free meal. I did not eat my food when I came home as I am concerned if one person was doing this in the restaurant, there may have been others.
Thank you.

not receiving order as given waitress
My younger son & I met at the Bob Evans Restaurant in Princeton, Indiana (47670) located at 2825 West Broadway Street - telephone (812) 386-1228.
I ordered the regular size Cranberry Pecan salad, no blue cheese - opting for Swiss cheese instead - with raspberry vinaigrette on the side. I choose biscuits from the center of the pan with butter and honey. Coffee with regular sugar and cream as well as water with lemon,
My son chose the regular size Wildfire Chicken Salad made with fried chicken, biscuits, and coffee.
I asked the waitress give me the check for both meals.
Because I hadn't seen my son, Robert Oprah's, in years — he had come to attend his grandmother's (my mother's) funeral, which was to take place the next day — we were engrossed in conversation when our meals arrived. I didn't notice my salad was minus the Swiss cheese or that the biscuits, butter and honey were missing.
The waitress was a young lady whose hair was accented with a red color that no human hair naturally has. I use that as a means of identifying her not as a complaint about her appearance.
When the waitress brought the bill, my son insisted on being given it and I chose to allow him to pay, which is why I cannot give you the receipt number or the amount he paid. But surely there weren't many orders that were taken between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. that contained the exact same order.
A young man (the night shift manager?) brought us two small containers with biscuits to take with us; but, they didn't contain butter or honey & when I got home & went to eat one, I found that they were rock hard & definitely not from the center of the pan.
Needless to say, I am very unhappy about the whole incident.
My salad was good but I should have been given it exactly as I ordered it and I should have gotten exactly what I ordered.
It would be a good idea for at least the Regional Manager to take a good, hard look at the way the Bob Evans Restaurant in Princeton, Indiana is run on week nights. I most certainly won't be going back there for a very long time.
Disappointed,

food
I couldn't believe it when they served us this potato. Very disappointing. The food at the Marion Ohio restaurant is getting worse every day. First, I ordered fried chicken, dark meat, they were out of chicken. Who runs out of chicken? Had to then order the meatloaf. I ordered the flounder, got the salmon, which was too dry to eat. This was a carry out order.
missing and cook food also service
On 3/31/18 my husband and I wanted breakfast from Bob Evans restaurant we ordered online my husband went to pick it up got home and opened it I wasn't happy at all but this is not the first time I've had this issue with eggs cooked to hard or yoke broken missing sausage child size portion of hash browns, no toast. I called Bob Evans restaurant talked to Scott the manager and voiced my displeased with the cashier didn't put any utensils syrup or napkins in our bag but Scott said he would send gift cards but it's almost May 2018 nothing has arrived in mail
family dinner of chicken and noodles
I picked up 2 family dinners from Bob Evans in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and paid 48.00...I was taking them to my sisters for food after a visitation at the funeral home. The dinners were a chicken strip dinner and a chicken and noodles dinner...we have bought them MANY times before...the problem was with the Chicken and Noodle Family Dinner ...there were 6 adults eating and the chicken and noodle family dinner was very skimpy...the chicken and noodles didn't even cover the biscuits and mash potatoes...I am very disappointed in this dinner...a family dinner should feed 3 people it did not...It needs to be taken off the family dinner section of the menu...I will not buy it ever again.
This occurred on April 15, 2018 about 4 pm I am requesting a refund for this dinner and the sides...
banana nut bread
I not one to usually complain about food. And I eat bob evans 3 times a week. I went on 4-7-2018 to bob evans on miller lame Dayton ohio. I had ordered 2 family size potatoe soups nd also purchased the loaf of the banana nut bread and a loaf of cinnimon coffee cake... Everything was amazing as always but the banana nut bread. My order read take out so after we had dinner and was having bread after I noticed the banana bread had a sour taste to it. I thought it was me but I had someone else have a slice and it was bad. It said the loaf was made 4-3-2018 ...this is a 1st time me ever having something that wasn't good from your restaurant. Everything else was very delicious. Just thought I would share my thought cause I had to throw it away.
food quality
Dined at your Wadsworth Ohio restaurant on Sunday, April 9, 2018. The food was horrible. I ordered the farmers breakfast. Received hash browns that were cooked in disgusting butter oil mix.. tasted bland and greasy. Cold rye toast and under cooked French toast. I've been eating at Bob Evans most of my life and since they were sold the food has drastically declined in quality and taste.. Yuck... I will not be eating at your restaurants ever again. So disappointed.. such a shame they sold out...
bob evans restaurant on mcgalliard st muncie in
We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm today 4/9/2018.. There was no line for waiting and the restaurant was not full. We were seated promptly and waited around 15 minutes for our waitress. We ordered drinks and our meals (a Chicken Salad and Meatloaf meal). We waited 45 minutes more and our food had not been brought to us. My wife observed our waitress back in a corner on her cell phone. A few more minutes and our waitress came by and said she had been taken off the floor and someone else would bring our food. Fifteen more minutes and our food still had not been delivered. Finally after more time a waitress named Tina brought our food which she said had been sitting ready for delivery to us for some time. The food was not warm and we complained about it to no avail. We decided to eat it and while we were eating the manager came to our table and asked if we were satisfied and we replied that we were not. He offered no retribution to us. We eat at that location around 2 times per week and the service there has been declining steadily over the last few months. I would have at least expected a discount from the manager if not at least one free meal, but we were offered nothing for spending an hour and a half in the establishment. (twice our normal time in there)
poor service
On Sunday, April 8, 2018, at 4:53 PM, I called Bob Evans, 1111 N Countyline St, Fostoria, OH 44830, to place a take-out order. I ordered a quart of chicken-n-noodles & a hamburger plain w/french fries. I was told by the employee that they don't have plain hamburgers. She proceeded to tell me of the three different kind of burgers they have but no plain hamburger. I explained that my husband & I were in the restaurant a few weeks ago & my husband ordered a plain hamburger & fries & had no difficulty ordering it or receiving it. The employee told me that they can't do that. I asked her what was so difficult about making a hamburger plain. I told her to forget the order & hung up. This is not the first time something like this has happened at this location. It is however, the first time I have made a formal written complaint. I have complained in the past to the store manager or shift manager. I feel as though this restaurant has gone down hill over the past few years. Quality & service is not the same as it used to be. There is no pride being taken by the employees. I have given this location all the chances I can to correct their issues. Another loyal customer can take no more. I am sorry to say that I will NOT be a patron at this Bob Evans location again.
I had lunch today at your location on Schecter Drive in Wilkes Barre PA. As I was eating my meal, I happened to look up at one point and saw thick black mold particles covering all of the air vents in the ceiling. I called it to the manager's attention (who was a young girl) and she first tried to tell me that it was "just a little bit of dust". When I pointed out how thick it was, she then said "oh, I guess we'll have to clean it up then" and she then walked away. I immediately got up, paid my bill, and left. I also will be reporting this Bob Evans location to the board of health.
the sandwich sausage patties
I bought the 6 count sausage sandwich patties at meijers store about 2 weeks back when I went to use it this morning it had greenish black spots on a couple of patties. I can not take back to store for I don't have the receipt anymore. But it looked like mold the expiration date is may 2 2018 lot number from what I can read is 952 L6OHD0070 is how it looks on package. There 3 out of 6 that had on it.
joliet il bob evans
I went to Bob Evans In Joliet Il this morning for breakfast I waited for 10 mins and then told the girl my grandaughter and I would sit at the counter even though there were tables open. I went to the counter only to find all dirty dishes all over the whole counter. We sat there for 20 mins while waitresses and the manager had gone by us several times and did not even acknowledge we were there not did they even attempt to clean anything. I got up and went over to the hostess and told her this and she asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. I told her yes He came over I told him all this he says so I will get you a table not concerned at all. We sit at the table the girl brings us menus asks us what we want to drink. I opened the menu that was totally disgusting with food spilled on it. I was telling my grandaughter about this when the waitress walked up and she said the hostess is supposed to clean them and I handed it to her told her to give it to the hostess and she told me she didn't like my attitude. We had a few words she started crying and told me she was going to get the manager and was not coming back to my table that I did not know what she was going through and stormed off. We got up and left at that point. Being in there almost 45 mins and still have not eaten. To me this is disgusting and not acceptable. I will never walk back into that place again. That manager is very lazy also. He just stands around
