service & food
Went to Bob Evans on Georgesville, Columbus, Ohio on 1/28/18. Got seated right away had to wait on a waitress to decide when she would come & wait on us, in meantime lead took our drink orders. Savannah finally came (we have had her before, not good) took our order. waiting 30 minutes to get soup & 1/2 sandwich. Never refilled coffee cup. Went up to see where our order was and the lead brought out the wrong order and she finally came with our original order. Had to have someone else get a coffee refill. I have been going to Bob Evans for 20 years and have never seen a restaurant in such ids-array since taken over by private investors. It's like you have no pride in what the restaurants look like. I went in there one evening and the host told me he was so bored I told him he could clean the spills running down the sides of the booths or the food on the lampshades over the tables or he could run the sweeper or even wash the divider windows. He looked at me like I had lost my mind. In my house when I invite someone to eat I make sure my house is clean and they do not have to run the sweeper or worry if their food is hot and I always give refills. Not only was I disappointed but there were some friends there and they had been waiting an hour for their food. The manager that is on at this shift does not know what the hell he is doing or how to manage teenagers or 20 something kids. If you want a job you work that job or leave it. They all need to be fired and start with new ones. I come there for breakfast 2-3 times a week and do not have any of these problems. I know that you have a sweeper maybe someone needs to take the time to show them how to use it or how to wipe down the booth and tables and wipe up food of of light fixtures and windows. Disgusting place tonight, not sure if I will go back. This has happened several other times and still not corrected. Please sell back to the family, obviously you cannot run a restaurant.
the carryout service at bob evans in van wert ohio
I placed an order for carryout by phone and they told me it would be ready at 5 p.m. Needless to say I went to pick it up and ended up waiting 35 minutes to actually receive the order. The people working the checkout and also in the kitchen are ridiculously slow and you could even hear them talking how they didn't know whose carryout order was whose. They also would avoid makin eye contact because they knew people were aggravated. This is ALWAYS a problem with the late afternoon/early evening shift there. This is not the first or second time it has happened. I really could kick myself for thinking they will change. Such poor service. In fact so bad and they knew it they gave me the food for free. But even at that they didn't even have the order right. UGH! The service when you go in to eat there is fine but the front counter is absolutely horrendous!
poor service
Our family attempted to dine at the Bob Evans on Richmond Rd (#53), Lexington, Ky on 12/29/2017., at 6.00 PM.
The restaurant was almost empty, only two other tables of diners.
There were three waitresses, a manager and a cook on duty.
We were seated promptly, orders were taken with no problem...
1. chicken pot pie
2. Country Fried steak and egg with hashbrowns
3. Rise and Shine breakfast with hashbrowns
4.Grilled Parmesan cheese
5. Fried Chicken Strips, French fries, honey mustard sauce
At 7:00 we had not received any food. The waiter or manager had not approached our table. We observed other customers going to the counter with empty glasses asking for refills.
I approached the waiter (Jonathan) who was standing at the counter with the other personnel talking and asked when we might expect our meals.
They were delivered shortly, however, ...
The pot pie was cold.
The Country Fried steak was missing hashbrowns
The Rise and Shine breakfast was missing sausage links
The Chicken strips were without honey mustard dressing
We asked Jonathan for the missing items...after five minutes, I asked to see the manager. She said the missing items were being prepared and apologized citing the fact that the server was new and we should be aware that "everyone had to start somewhere...and would make mistakes".
I told her I saw no reason for such bad service and her lack of supervision.
My husband told her to take the Pot Pie back as he could not eat it cold.
By this time, our table was so upset no one wished to eat.
She took the cold Pot Pie off of the bill and brought the sausage links...the hashbrowns and honey mustard sauce had still not appeared and it was 7:15.
We told her to forget the hashbrowns, we were leaving. She canceled our check.
So why and I complaining? I think Corporate has the right to know how business is being conducted at this particular Bob Evans. We have dined there for years but our last three visits have resulted in bad results...either items not available that were on the menu(Pot Pie) or poor service.
I am sure your receipts from this particular location reflect a diminished business. We have noticed fewer and fewer diners.
The reason is quite obvious. The manager was not supervising, the other wait staff were visiting each other or sweeping the floor and I have no idea what the cook was doing.
The restaurant business in Lexington is very competitive and this restaurant is not even making an effort to provide good service. Your food is good and priced right...if you can get it to the table.
I felt and obligation to report this incident.
refrigerated mashed potatoes
Bought refrigerated Bob Evans family size original today at Giant Eagle. Use by 01/25/2018, PFL3. Were consistency of soup. Thinner than McDonalds Milk Shakes- never had this issue before. Used them but you couldnd't put gravy on them they would have rolled off plate. Is this how they are made now. If so will no longer purchase not what mashed potatoes are to be- creamy not running off the plate
bob evans "all natural homestyle classic mashed potatoes"
Bought these mashed potatoes thinking the label had been changed from the "Original" version of mashed potatoes. As soon as I took the board overwrap off, I saw what looked like a bug in the potatoes. I dug it out & could not figure out what it was. I stirred the mashed potatoes & there were quite a few dark colored pieces in the potatoes. I checked on the overwrap to see if it mentioned what these dark spots might be. Could not find any mention of them. I went ahead & heated both packages. The mashed potatoes had an off odor about them. I tasted them & they had an off-taste as well. Of course we had company so I asked everyone to taste them. No one liked them so I had to dig out some real potatoes to use. Not a good product & certainly not up to Bob Evans' standards! As much as I love your Original Mashed Potatoes, I didn't like anything about these! (Neither did my company!).
service / food preparation
Had breakfast with my GF. We are seated at 12:40. We did not speak with a server until the manager came and took our drink order at 12:56. There were 5 servers on the floor how did we get over looked it wasn't busy. After receiving the food 20 more mins later the bacon was burnt, eggs done wrong, sausage not cooked thru completely. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WE NOT BE RETURNING.
Manager did take off 3$ and gave us a box of cookies but it was not enough to stop this complaint.
overall customer service
On 11/21/2017, I and two friends had lunch at the Bob Evans restaurant in Phoenixville, PA.
My two friends ordered breakfast and I ordered a half sandwich and small bowl of chili.
The service was very slow, the waitress apologized several time, and my chili was brought to me after I had already eaten my sandwich and my friends had finished their breakfast.
There are definite problems with this location and its service levels.
family style turkey dinner
On 11-22-17 I picked up you family style turkey dinner.
Disappointed, as the gravy and corn containers were only half full. Seems like their cutting back. The gravy containers were only half full, not enough to cover for the amount of mashed potatoes received. The corn was only half full. On previous orders, I ordered green beans and received twice as much then the amount of corn.
This is the fourth year I have ordered this dinner for Thanksgiving. As it is too much for me to cook a full thanksgiving dinner.

poor experience-food & service
Our total experience a let down. No hostess to great and seat. Waited around 10 minutes for waitresses cause change of shifts and no waitress to serve us. Ordered food, arrived luke warm, sent back ham for grill was not cleaned. French toast no taste. Later tried getting refill ice tea, switched to coffee. It was hotter then our meals. Left there still hungry.
service and food quality in branson mo.
Nov 18/17 6p.m
Place was not full maybe 8 tables with customers..the hosts looked around the place to see where she could seat us as if none in sight an yes I know they have to give to waitress equally...i told her booth or somewhere off to side she sat us in middle room an ignored us when we asked to sit over to side...food was lukewarm an hashbrowns uncooked told her she said sorry but never offered to make right which was ok the time it took to get our food was half hour 45 min breakfast food shouldn't take that long we an one other table she had...biscuts were hard the longer they set the harder they got...ehen we went to pay we told manager how food was she was hateful then when our card didn't go through we said hey will just pay cash she agruged an insisted to run card again...we said we will not be back ever...its sad that Bob Evans had gone to he'll in a hand bag there..dirty tables that should of been cleaned...hosted as I said had more then plenty tables opened all over she made others wait so she could clean a table then sat them elsewhere
Totally disappointed in the service
mac and cheese
The noodles were overcooked and the sauce was runny and chunky. Absolutely terrible. Had to throw it out! Wasted my money and it looks like I'm not the only one who had a problem. Might want to do something about it. We deserve something for our inconvenience! I've never had a problem til now. Was purchased at Walmart in lebanon tn. Proof of purchase [protected].
mac and cheese
I just came back from Publix today, November 14th. I live in Orlando, FL. I've always loved Bob Evans Mac and Cheese, I eat it all the time. It's my absolute favorite. But the Bob Evans Mac and Cheese I've had today was absolutely terrible. I had to throw it out. It was definitely spoiled. I though maybe it was expired but it says it's good until December 5th. It even smelled bad but thought I would take a couple bites anyway. Bad idea. It was so gross. I have NEVER had this happen. Bob Evans products are usually always great but this one was just down right disgusting. Please make sure that your products are still good before you ship them out. I would hate to not be able to eat my favorite Mac and Cheese.
bob evans macaroni and cheese
I've been a patron of Bob Evans restaurant and groceries for many years. My family especially loves the macaroni and cheese, which is why I'd normally buy several at a time.
On November 11, 2017, I purchased 2 packs of 2 Bob Evans macaroni and cheese from Walmart in North Little Rock, AR on McCain Blvd. When I went to warm up the mac/cheese, I almost vomited from the odor invading my nostrils. Clearly it was spoiled. I opened the other 3 mac/cheese and they were spoiled as well.
I contacted Walmart who amicably offered to replace the mac/cheese, which they did. This time both Walmart and I checked the expiration dates on the new mac/cheese (12/13/2017) and was satisfied that it wasn't bad.
Before warming the mac/cheese up for my daughter I decided to sniff it just to be sure, and I vomited everywhere. The smell was so disgusting--rotten cheese. Despite that the expiration date hadn't come to past, the entire batch of mac/cheese is spoiled.
As a matter of fact, I contacted Walmart to inform them that they needed to remove the entire batch of mac/cheese because it's all spoiled. It could possibly make someone ill. Walmart staff then opened a fresh pack of Bob Evans mac/cheese and discovered that it too was spoiled. They promptly removed the entire batch, as suggested.
This is disgusting. Bob Evans is either marking expiration dates on products that are already expired or products are going bad during transport, which in any case it's still your fault.
Citizens trust the products that you package to be safe. We have faith that Bob Evans practice measures that ensure quality products. I've personally believed that Bob Evans was a business of integrity. Not so much anymore.
Your disgustingly spoiled mac/cheese could've caused my baby to become ill.
Sorry, I just want to add one more thing to Tafe, this is not another reply but I forgot to add this in my original reply. I am sure that if you attacked just Rita she would not fight back, but once you started messing with her daughter and posting comments about her calling her horrible names you pushed her buttons. It is one thing for you to mess with her, but to post comments about her child, any decent loving parent would be triggered by that and respond back. But then again you already knew this would trigger her since that is what trolls do right.
Exactly Ashlee J. Initially when she attacked my baby, all bets were off. But now I realize she's simply a degenerate. There's no point in challenging the special.
While tafe is being immature and rude here, you are the adult here and therefore should ignore him. What he is doing is trolling. Most likely he or she is 10-14 years old. Trying to get you to reply back and you are falling into his trap. As for tafe. Does your mom know what you are up to? The only one that needs a good slap or spanking is you. Joking and even making comments about Rita daughter committing suicide is a very serious issue and you should not joke about that or make comments about her committing suicide. It is a very sensitive issue here, and some posters may have had a friend or family member commit or attempt suicide. Or maybe they attempted it themselves. Anyways you can reply back to me and abuse me if you want Tafe, but this is my first and last response to you. The only reason that I am responding to you is to get you to think about the sensitive topic you are taking lightly. As for Rita I am sure that once she realized she is feeding your trolling and stooping to your level she will stop replying to you. Also before correcting Nicholas on his spelling and grammar work on your own. Your immature posts about suicide as well as your own grammar shows that you are probably in Junior high.
Oh my. Is it truly an adolescent? Oh dear, I hope I havent been arguing with an actual child. I mean, I assumed that it was mentally unstable, but now you're saying it may be a child. Well if this is the case, Im embarrassed. I thought it was a grown woman attacking my child and I over a mac/cheese complaint. Oh wow.
David, come for my child and I'll rip you into shreds as well. I didnt post my complaint to be attacked by you or anyone else and Im for damn sure not going to deal with online bullying, threats, or disrespect to my family. So if you think Im childish, screw you too.
service
Store was Washington Pike in Bridgeville/Collier. We sat down and there were coffee mugs on the table upside down. We turned them over and they were dirty. There were coffe grounds in the mug. I asked for new mugs she asked why. Then she turned them upside down at another table for someone else to use. Besides her loud behavior which we could live with if everything else was clean. She served food to tables that came well after us. Other tables had that happen to them as well. Our order was not correct. The cashier didn't even ask how our meal or service was. I guess she knew better. We won't be back. It's a shame too. We used to go monthly.
the service of manger
Yes, we went to Bob Evans in Wabash Indiana there service was the worst I've ever seen we arrive at 1 pm our food didn't get serve until 2 pm food was cold potato was done not one time did the manager come over to check on us the manager sent the the waitress to tell us our food is free still no manager came to apologize for what has happen it made feel like we were being discriminated against I've never felt like this. I will be trying to find an attorney to take our case. We will never go there again for the rest of my life. You know when you don't feel treated right. God bless
The manager may have been preoccupied with other customers. Either way, you have no proof that you were discriminated against and did not provide any evidence here. You had a negative experience and they provided you with free food as compensation. In regards to getting an attorney, you have no case. You got your food for free and that is the most that any restaurant can be expected to do.

Bob Evans Restaurant #436
3988 E. Broad St. Whitehall, Oh 43213
Table 42/1
Guest; 4 Store no. 30089 - Date: 10/29/2017
My party of Four came in was seated at 1:30 pm. 15 minutes later after asking for our waitress to serve us. We had ordered our lunch and was waiting to be served. At 2:20 pm. I had asked about our lunch. The waitress said they were slow in the kitchen. At 2:45 pm still no lunch. Food was cold and I even Did not get all I had ordered. We spent about the total of Two hours.
chopped steak dinner
The taste was terrible. I ordered mashed potatoes with gravy. There was so much gravy on them they were soup like. The flavor of the gravy was bad and artificial. The sauteed onions were not cooked properly. It was like they were still crisp. Very dissatisfied customer. It was a carry out so I could not send it back. Also I arrived 5 minutes early and the foid was already ready to go and was only luke warm.
Two trips to Bob Evans in the past couple years (I hadn't been in one in 15 years previously) was just horrible. Worst food I was ever served anywhere at any time in 60 years, both locations. Horrible service too. And the place pretty empty too, both times. Bob Evans is circling the drain. I won't be back. BTW, Bob Evans frozen sausages have deteriorated to the point I just threw the junk out. B.E. is soon to be history I bet.
multiple complaints!
1. On Sunday, October 15, 2017 we placed a call-in order to go in the amount of approximately $50.00. When we arrived home, we realized we had been shorted a pumpkin bread loaf & a side order of grits. I called and spoke with the "manager" and she said I could come back; however, if I went back to pick up the items, out other food would be cold. I was very upset due to the time I had to take away from our family time and breakfast because someone did not check the to go order. She took my contact information and assured me she would put a gift card in the mail. Which I told her would have been fine.
2. It takes 1-2 days for mail to get from Bob Evans Bluefield, VA to my house in Bluefield VA. Each day I have checked the mail to receive nothing from bob evans! You absolutely cheated me out of my money!
Now I have to take time out of my very busy day to attempt to recover the money your company owes me!
I doubt I will ever go back to any bob evans again!
Sincerely,
Melissa Pruett

service
Tuesday, 10/10/17 @ 6:17pm: Went to Bob Evans in Mount Dora, FL. Took food way too long to come out, food was only slightly warm, coffee also. Waitress Lauren, with her yeahs, uh huhs & lack of personality, needs to find another line of work, because being a Waitress is not for her. Manager, just as rude, plus couldn't understand a word he said & he was sweating so profusely, I thought he was going to pass out. Won't be going back anytime soon. A very unsettling experience.
bob evans original pork sausage
To Whom it May Concern:
I purchased your Bob Evans Original Pork Sausage on 10/7/2017 from Super Giant in Long Neck, Delaware (Millsboro). When I was in the middle of cooking I flipped one of the patties over and a roundworm was curled up on top of the patty! My concern is some of these were made yesterday morning and consumed! We always purchase this product and have never seen this before. I would like to speak with someone regarding this terrible situation!

I had been buying Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes faithfully for years and they had always been delicious, but during the last year or so something has changed. The taste is different, plus they are lumpy and have a strange consistency. I have stopped buying them because something is not right. What changed?
That stuff has deteriorated to worse than mystery meat. I threw the last box I bought in the garbage. Yuck! Like everything "Bob Evans" these days (including the restaurants) total inedible junk. Bet they go under. I'm sure Bob's great grandkids are set for life - who needs the hassle, eh?
