Last Thursday July 4, 2017 I was in to get my winter tires changed over to my summer tires. They gave me a list of things that needed to be fixed on my car: fuel/steering lines were corroded, 2 clamps on exhaust pipe needed to be replaced and a wheel alignment was recommended. Phoned to make an appointment for today last Friday and was quoted over the phone...

On June 27th i noticed an issue with what i thought was the rear control arm. I called tge local garages but they were busy so i called Canadian Tire in Simcoe, Ontario. I mentioned i thought it was the control arm but wasnt sure cuz i'm not a car person. I was told to bring it in the next on the 28th which i did, repeating i thought ut was the control arm. A couple hours later i got a call saying i needed new stabilizers...i told them to fix it. When i went to pick it up i said "so it wasnt the control arm"...the guy shut his eyes slowly, almost rolling them and said "ni it wasnt the control". I looked before i drove away and they hadnt even noticed the control arm or the fact that the spring was ready to push through the control. Essentially they didnt even check the control arm and were prepared to send me on my way in a very unsafe car. See photograph.
I would like to discuss this with someone. Not looking for money. The arrogance and the lack of apology has really upset me. And general unprofessionalism is not sitting well with me either. I certainly will never use Canadian Tire in simcoe again. I'm thinking this might be a story for my Facebook friends at this point.
My number is 226.231.8498

service
We came in today to look at bikes for my nephew's birthday gift. Another customer threw a bike and walked away so we picked it up. And my sister and i were just testing out the basketball and skateboards. One of your employees, i dont know his name. He was indian. He said "Guys don't play with the [censored]". His exact words. I have never been direspected by an employee before and this was just really rude. I've never had a bad experience with canadian tire before but this disgusted me. That was no way to talk to a customer.
I don't think i would shop at this location again.
I am very upset about the service today.
automotive services
I went to Canadian Tire Langford Store (855 Langford Parkway) for a oil change on July 4th, 2019.Assistant Services manager Robert Bartkow suggested me to have an Engine shampoo to help find the leakage in the car.
After the engine shampoo, my car didn't change anything and I can see the smoke from the engine. I opened engine lid. It looks like nothing has been cleaned. Dust is there. Some Oil is there.I went back to ask why my engine is not shampooed . I asked Robert to take a look at the engine is not shampooed but Robert was so busy to take a look and he just told me the engine shampoo had nothing to do with oil and dust on the engine it means clean underneath the engine. They didn't have time to do any cleaning and dusting.Yes, I remember that after my oil change my car hasn't be cleaned as well because they were so busy .I Always trust Canadian Tire is the best store that's why I trusted Auto Service .I feel bad that I made an appointment with them to change my Tires tomorrow and I don't know can I trust them or not?
automotive service
On June 27, 2019 I visited the Canadian Tire Store 0476 for a NB Motor Vehicle Inspection on a 2012 Fiat 500. I was advised on multiple item failures resulting in a rejection of the inspection process and then provided a quote/repair order # [protected] for a total of $1227.46 (HST incl). This quote reflected costs for: a new MVI Inspection, front brake pads and rotors, front brake caliper service, rear brake pads and rotors, rear brake caliper service, replacement of one front caliper (left), and a brake system flush plus associated labor. This inspection was done by what I believe is employee # 3479 Blair Dempst.
I refused this quote and scheduled a new MVI session with the local Saint John Fiat dealer the following week (Dobson Chrysler Fiat) as I was suspicious about this quote and work that I was relatively sure was not truly required to meet the MVI threshold.
On July 4 at the Fiat dealer the inspection determined a pass on everything with the exception of rear pads and rotors plus labor and supplies which totaled $563.65 (HST incl).
This same inspection process on the same car yielded a difference of $663.81 and only parts for the rear end of the car.
There has always been rumors about various repair centers tipping the scales to add items to repair quotes and I do appreciate that multiple opinions can lead to slight differences, but for a standard government designed motor vehicle inspection I find it suspicious at a minimum that there would be such 2 significant differences on the same car. The second opinion on this scenario had the added advantage of seeing a "rejection" sticker on the windshield and I provided them with the information provided by Canadian Tire, and the result is reflected above.
Safe to say, not only will I never again drive a vehicle into a Canadian Tire location for any sort of service, I will also consider other alternatives for any other related products or services and be sure to share my experience as per above with anyone interested in my opinion.
There always has to be a level of trust when you walk or drive into a location for any product or service, and that trust was breached on this scenario.
car repair services + customer service
Went to the Canadian Tire Garage (1608 The Quuensway, Etobicoke, ON) on a booked appointment and had a miserable experience which I want to share. It happened on July 5 with the service manager (as she pretended to be), a woman whose name starts with A (she didn't introduce).
All started for the fact that she wanted to keep my payment card for 2 hours justifying that she needed to call my fleet manager for approval and that would take 2 hours. When I told her that I am not comfortable leaving my card unattended for so long and I will wait until she is making the call she started feeling offended for "the lack of trust in her".
Although I called my fleet manager and proved her that it only takes 5 minutes to get an answer; and I also got preapproved for the cost of the oil change, she kept asking for keeping the card for 2 hours and constantly changed her story to convince me for her reasons.
All ended up in her refusing to accept my car for the oil change, handling me the keys, and asking to leave because I "did not follow or understand her process".
I left, placed a claim with Canadian Tire Corporation, and changed the oil somewhere else after wasting 1 hour of my time at that Canadian Tire Garage.
The place where I changed the oil didn't ask to keep my card, they took the information they needed and handled it back to me.
Because time, customer service, trust and fairness are important to me, I will never enter the Canadian Tire On The Queensway, Etobicoke and will think twice before doing any car repairs at the Canadian Tire.
racial discrimination
My Partner is an employee at Canadian Tire and constantly faces racial discrimination from his own colleagues. He is African Canadian and has been called a n*gger behind his back for months and today was called a porch monkey to his face. This employee has not been fired and nothing is being done by his superiors to stop the harassment.
This is the Canadian Tire in New Minas, Nova Scotia. I'm disgusted at the way all of these incidents are handled by the managers, and by handled, I mean passed off and ignored.
customer service
I ordered a bike online and was told the bike builder comes in only once a week. On Wednesday I returned only to be told my bike was missed. Barry the manager gave me nothing but attitude and was rather unapologetic. He told me the bike builder was in lunch but when he got back he would let him know the problem. They would get back to me. I'm still waiting. I went to the Weston road and 401 location to speak to Barry directly in which he gave me more attitude. Beware of this location. The customer service reps and managers need retraining. Very lazy and cocky people to say the least.
bicycle
I used to love CT until today, I bought a Bike from Canadian tire Centre Point Mall on June 6 2019, they told me if there is anything wrong with it please bring it back and we will fix it, I rode the bike and realized it was making strange loud noises, so I took it in, Geeta was the Customer Service Rep, she was immediately rude to me and told me I couldn't return the bike, I explained to her that I don't want to return the bike, I just need someone to fix it, She told me that they have no one in the store to fix it and she doesn't know when somebody will be in, it could take weeks. I told her that if someone buys a brand new bike right now and takes it out for a spin, finds out that its a faulty bike right away, they bring it back, and they have to wait weeks for the bike to be fixed, even though they paid for a Brand New functioning Bike and not the one that needs fixing. She hated that point and started screaming at me, basically telling me its not her business how long it takes. I did not buy the bike in summer so then I wait all summer for the Bike to get fixed. I asked to speak with a manager, she told me she had no managers. I was treated like garbage and felt like a criminal. I will be telling all my family to never shop from Canadian Tire. At this point, I want to return the Bike and not even keep their faulty Bike.
cashier
There was a cashier yesterday (June 29) by the name of Jacque, in the trinity common location in Brampton. My mom and I asked a simple question regarding the price on the flyer. The cashier was extremely rude and degrading with her comments towards my mom not being able to understand what she was inferring to. This behaviour was immensely hurtful and this individual should learn how to positively interact with customers as this is apart of her job. I believe the cashier was in register 1.
customer service
I went to the store to cancel an order I ordered online. At the customer service, Monika wasn't able to communicate with us in English, she then get her colleague Dan to come speak to us. Dan gave us attitude as we were explaining what was happening as well as what we were trying to tell Monika. Dan gets impatience and when I spelled his name, he reacted aggressively and said to us "yes, my name is Dan, you want to complaint, information is on the wall". And he pointed to the wall as he spoke. I told a picture from the wall and he ran after us and shouting loud to us, "you can't take picture of me" I am not taking a picture of him, but the information on the wall. He stopped us at the main entrance, in front of over 50 customers whose lining up at the cashier, shouting, yelling, loud, bad words. We are so nervous, my husband and another staff tried to stop him, and we finally called 911. While I was speaking to the police, the assistant store manager, Paul Roy came to investigate what's happening. We told him we were be shouted and yelled at in front of so many people, Dan rudeness is unacceptable and is shocking us, I feel myself and my husband not safe and were worrying that we might get hurt over there.
It was a very bad experience at the Greenfield Park Store in Brossard QC, our first online purchase experience as well as first visit to the store.
re: auto service
On May 22 at 4:00 PM I went to Canadian Tire auto service for a change tire with Invoice number [protected]. At 4:52 PM received a call that my vehicle is done. So I went to pay. When I get my vehicle I inspect first in the parking lot before I leave. To my surprised and I am very very upset cause one of the rim (left passenger side) has a scratch/scrape. I took a photo of it and went back inside the store and tell them what I saw and showed the photo and asked them how did that happened. The cashier called the guy who did my vehicle. He said " maybe its just a lube" then he came with me outside to check. He wiped it down with a cloth. It wasn't a lube, it was a scrape and told to his co employees. The cashier told me to come back next day and talk to the service manager. May 23 in the morning I spoke to Dan Javaheri, the service manager. Told him what happened to my vehicle. He checked and said "there is no way it could happen" there is no curb that would hit or scrape the rim. It's look like a old scratch/scrape. I said no it wasn't. He said he will check the video and I said please cause I want to know how did that happened. I told him I know my car. He said yes of course. I told him I wash my car before I brought there that day. He said he will give me a call. Didn't receive a call. So I called the next day May 24 when I was at work on my breaktime at 11:10 am. He said "he check the video and did not see anything. He is saying that maybe it's an old scrape that I did not noticed ." I said that's impossible. I know myself I don't have that cause I always wipe and dry my car after a car wash. Then I asked him if I can see the video myself. He said the manager is away, so it won't be available til Monday. I said okay I wanna see it. May 26, I went in the store with my friend and spoke to him again. Wanted my money back. He said "I can't do that". "It's not our control of things that may happen". I said seriously? So upsetting! So it means they doesn't care about the car and their customer. If your car got damage good bye, business is done. The next thing I did was went in the customer service if I could speak to the Store Manager on May 27, but he was away. The lady told me to come back Tuesday, May 28. I went back and spoke to the Store manager named Brandon. I told him what happened, that I want my money back. He apologized and said he will investigate and check the video and they will call me. May 29, Dan, the service manager left me a voicemail that the video is available already and it's ready to pick up. I picked up the CD after my work. So I check but the video is unknown and I can not open. My friends, my Co workers tried to open but sadly we can't. I went back to the store spoke to Brandon, the store manager told him I can't open the video. He doesn't seem surprised. He said they checked the video and they did not see anything. I said so that's it? I paid for $202, got my rim scrape/scratch? "Yeah and I'm sorry about that." That's all I got from the store manager.
On June 26 my friend got to open the video but it was blank. Seemed suspicious. That's why when I spoke to Brandon that I can't open the video he doesn't seem surprised. They gave me a blank one.
bicycle
I bought a bicycle in July 2018. Store #288- 9909 178th st NW Edmonton AB.-
In ten months that I have had it, I have brought it back in 4 times for repair (3 times: the gears couldn't shift- 4th time the gears again and the bearing).- I need the bicycle for a medical reason: both my knees have been operated, and by riding the bike the muscles get the strength to support my knees.- My concern is if the problem persists, I'm missing the exercise for my knees.- I tried to reason with the manager to exchange it (I would've paid the difference on the price) but, he said that the bicycle was too old (10 months) and he would never exchange it. Is there anything you can do?. Please, It will be highly appreciated.
Truly yours: Edgar W. Iraheta M.

vehicle service
I got some work done at the garage at Canadian tire and they probably did more damage than what they fixed
First i had gotten some work done about 2 years ago that the replaced the wheel bearing on my car. I go into Canadian tire now and they tell me i need to replace the bearing again which makes me think that they didn't even replace it the first time.
But i agreed and let them replace the bearing for a second time, and i get my car back, and the steering isn't aligned even though it was when i dropped it off but i guess they didn't car enough to check. AS well now my car has a ridiculous amount of scratches that were not there before i dropped my car off. I looks like they dragged something off my car
It ridiculous that this company is doing this, everyone told me how bad Canadian tire was but i didn't believe them until now. I will never be bringing my car to Canadian tire ever again.
auto service
I took in 4 atv tires that were only a year old to have changed over in fenlon falls. The guy who was working on them split the bead on one of my tires and told me that there was a hole in it that it couldn't be patched. I told them to break the bead and i will put a tube in it at home. When i went to put the tube in it i noticed the tear and i called right away and they said that it was not there problem and now i have no tire for my atv until i can get a new set. Also they charged me over $100 to wreck my tire
auto service centre - thunder bay, ontario
Fort William Road location.
Been sitting here for 5 hours and have not had my car looked at. There have been people coming in after me and had their cars serviced and they're already gone. I am not impressed. I am 1, 400km from home and I ran into car trouble I thought I could trust the auto centre just like back home. I don't trust the service centre anymore. It's been 5 hours and so much for first come first serve.
yard machines 1322 gas lawn mower
Hello My name is Michel Richard and I bought this lawn mower from 1380 Mountain road location in Moncton New Brunswick.
I had only bought this lawnmower in July of 2017 and already it only starts and stalls and only remains started for about 20 seconds.
I unfortunately did not have my reciept and I asked the cashier who automatically adressed me with an agressive and dismissive attitude, she said we can't accept this without a reciept. I asked if we could look in the system and she very aloofly did (what I suppose is a search) and she said sh found nothing. I told her to scan the barcode on the product to prove that it came from their store and it did in fact demonstrate that it did.
After having to have asked for a manager named Roger he said that the store will take care of this and send it to a repairman. The repairman called and said that he is uneasy to work with the product because the carburetors usually don't "work well" on these models and he has not recieved authorization to fix the mower.
It has been one week and I am still waiting for the store to contact me, I am going to pay them a visit and advise them that I have contacted head office and will pursue this with consumer affairs if I do not recieve proper reparations.

order #[protected]
I order a boat and motor on line to be picked up at the store. When it arrived it had a big dent in the boat and the boat looked like it had been sitting outside all winter. I felt the boat should have been wiped down and inspected before delivery. The dent is large and I couldn't get it out, didn't try too hard.

was given a "customer returned item" or "warehouse damaged"
Online order: [protected]
In-store pickup: Terrebonne, Moody, Quebec
Pickup date: 21 June 2019
Complaint email tracking number: 1243847
Someone placed an online order for a Mig Welder and scheduled an in-store pickup. This was a gift for my birthday. I picked it up. After placing it in the car, in the sunlight, I realized I had been given a damaged box that was not factory sealed. When back in and told the clerk. They told me to call customer service since it was an online order and not in my name. They basically told me to Fxxx off. It was 11:54 am, got home and contacted customer service at 1:28 pm. It's been 4 days and nothing is being done about this.
I thought that Canadian Tire only sold new, factory sealed items. I thought that customer returns and warehouse damaged goods were sent back to the supplier or sold to resellers. This box was handled by at least 2 employees before it was given to me. The person who prepared the order the day before and the cashier that handed it to me. Neither of them saw anything wrong with what they were doing. According to the website they had 11 in inventory and I saw 5 on the shelf. So they could have just swapped the boxes before handing it to me and then deal with the damaged one.
So here are some photos. I have not opened the box.
- Corners are badly damaged(I could have lived with that).
- The tape was cut then retaped(badly). One end is sticking up.
- There is a hole on the side of the box. They tried to cover the hole with the ripped cardboard.
- Through the hole, you can see that the packing styrofoam is broken.
Very disappointed in the lack of judgment from all the employees that handled this item. Would they go to a store to buy a 200$ item and then tell the clerk:" No, no, no, please give me the opened damaged box. The one with the big hole on the side. Please don't give me the nice factory sealed one next to it.
I want Canadian Tire to send me a shipping label to ship the damaged one back. Then ship me a new one free of charge.
Why should I have to drive 1 hour there and back? Waste my time and money. To go argue with a bunch of idiots who thought it was okay to sell this to a customer in the first place. But most of all I would like for someone to do something about it.
You ask us to please stay polite. I had to leave the store in order to stay polite. After being treated this way.
