Fraudulent account - no assistance or support
I have been a victim of identify fraud with Cell C being the service provider. I have lodged numerous occasions from emails, to phone calls to physically visiting their retail outlets. I now have a bad credit record claiming I owe Cell C R 31 000! I have never ever attempted to open up an account, owned an account or use any Cell C service ever.
I have now been back and forth with every single credit bureau trying to resolve my credit record with no resolve thus far. Even the credit bureaus do not get responses from Cell C.
I would not be suprised if this is an inside job!

Paid up letter
I lost my job due to COVID 2 years ago and I could no longer pay my cell c contract , I found a job within months after losing it but by that time my account had been handed over to SSDA a debt collection agency and I paid my debt through them. My problem is that is has been 6 months since I paid my debt off and I still have no received a paid up letter from cell c and every time I contact SSDA they say that they have requested it from Cell C but are still waiting and this is absolutely ridiculous. I paid what I owed to Cell C almost 7 months ago and yet I’m being ignored now. It is severely affecting my credit score and ability to do things for myself. My number is [protected]

Am frustrated with the service am getting from Cell Just took up a new contract and my phone is not connecting to the network and data is finished within 2 days. When I call the customer service they put me on hold for long and still my query is not resolved. I've been a valued customer with Cell C for a decade now but this recent experience is costing me and jeopardizing my job.
Desired outcome: My network issue to resolved soonest or cancel my contract with no monies to be paid. reimburse my data that is vanish with no explanation.

Cancellation fee on a month to month contract
I took a contract with cell C, a month to month contract, and was advised that I can cancel it any time I want, hence it runs on month to month basis.
Now when I want to cancel I am told that it has been converted into a 24month contract, and they were still going to send me communications that it has been converted. I called their customers care to find out which contract do I have, they say it's a month to month, hence on cancellation department it's a 24month contract. Why do they have 2 data which are not the same.
The reason I took out the contact was on terms that I can cancel it anytime,with no cancellation fee because it's running on monthly basis but now when I want to cancel they tell me that there's a cancellation fee, for what, because I never broke any policy. I never signed up for a 24month contract, if this is a way to lure people into contracts then you've messed up with a wrong person.
Legally I'm not obligated to pay any fee for contracts I never signed up for. Cancel my contract and bill your consultant for falsefying info inorder for us to take contracts.
Now as we speak they say they won't cancel the contract if I don't pay the fee but already they've withdraw their data and closed them, they've suspended their services to me.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response from you with a cancellation letter and a settlement letter that I don't owe you anything.

CONTRACT CANCELATION
CellC is bad news guys and this company must be closed.
My husband took 2xcontracts(Sim for wifi & phone) for me on August 2019. Which was suppose to be finished in August 2021. We phone to cancel the contract online and they told us to cancel at the shop and we went to Galleria shop they told us to cancel online,it was their words against us and was not resolved. They did continue to deduct R499 even if they do not load data on the other Sim card till my husband last month reverse it because they took R1500 which we didn't it was for what. Not we went to Umlazi Mega City to complain the gave us again a number 184143 to phone and cancel. We finally got hold of a consultant who told us we owe Cell C R1900 which we didn't know what was it for because our bank statements shows they were deducting ever since. CellC is a scam and fraudulent. I wouldn't advise people to take contract from them. We are so passed off. I am thinking to expose them on our private investigator and on paper news.

Cell c contracts - paid up
My contract with CELL C has ended in November and my account paid up full in November 2021
I have been waiting more than the 48 Hours as advised by Cell C for a contract paid up letter.
Reference numbers are **********and **********.
Every time you call the call center and provide your reference number its either an excuse that the system is offline or slow or they need to create a new reference
My credit score is messed up because CELL C hasn't sent this data or paid up letter to Transunion/Experian and every month i still receive invoices saying i owe CELL C R0.00
The service is terrible and as a result I cannot buy anything because of Cell C's lack of competence and to this day is still a problem and no paid up letter!

Since November 2021 i have been sent from pillar to post & not being furnished with a paid up letter. In January 2022 i received an email saying they have attached a paid up letter but there was no attachment on the email. I have called customer care & cases being logged but i seem not to be receiving meaningful assistance from cell c

Incorrect spelling of my name, delivery could not be made of new cellphone of an upgrade
I upgraded my contract and my name was spelt incorrectly, firstly, no one called to confirm delivery date, secondly I had cancelled many other contracts because of the bad service and the fact that cellc on numerous occasions overcharged me for mistakes they had made. For God sakes, employ people that can do the job correctly, I'm willing to work for you if given the opportunity so that yourl have competent people who knows how to handle customers and do a job properly the 1st time around.

Unauthorised/fraudulent debit order cell c

Cell C has debited my account for 2 numbers that were terminated on the 28/2/2022. Numbers [protected] and [protected] do not exist anymore and have been terminated however Cell C has debited my account with R358. I have the email and recorded phone call with the consultant who confirmed termination. Dialing the numbers confirms that they do not exist any longer. This constitutes theft.

My Incorrect Debit Orders and failing to resolve my account issues for over 6 months
Cell C cannot resolve my account issues for over 6 months. my account is actually in credit and they have failed to ensure their upgraded system which they say they don't know how to resolve gets resolved.
they have handed me over to legal and cut my cell phone off each month. i have a good relationship with the la lucia mall branch and they can see my account is paid up and actually in credit. so reinstate my line each time.
i have tried changing my credit card details over the phone numerous times and they still fail to debit a card that has long expired, for that I am grateful because they would be debiting me incorrectly.
how can I resolve this please.

Unauthorized debit order three times more than my monthly value

I am utterly disappointed with cell c service and I'm a customer who has 2 contracts with them for the past few years.
My account was debited thrice the monthly debit order amount on 01st March. When I emailed them, they advised that my account was in arrears for 1 month hence the high debit. However, I went on to explain that I have not missed any debit orders. I called the consultant and he even advised me that my account was up to date, until cell c passed a debit note of R1702. 22 on my account when asked what this was in lieu of, the consultant couldn't assist further and advised that I need to wait for finance department to assist. It's 4 days now since I queried this and I have received no joy whatsoever.
Now I'm at risk for my credit rating because of this over debit, my other account debits did not go off..

I have been receiving statements with a zero balance for months - Cell C never debited my account as agreed. I called a few times and they said my account balance is Zero. Now you debit my account for R5962 in one go again without my authorization.

We signed a debit order agreement with Cell C for R729! together with an agreement to pay the arrears off with an extra R300 p/m as your accounts department is messed up.

Contract Termination
The purpose of this message is to complain about bad customer service with regards to termination of contracts.
Requests were made by myself on several occasions during 2021 to terminate my contract (month-to-month) with Cell C. The legal contract period had already lapse and apparently was on a month-to-month. After the last conversion with a Cell C consultant, gave me the impression that my contract had been terminated and therefore, I'm not financially obligated towards Cell C. I've reversed several debit orders that Cell C made illegally on my bank account because I'm under the impression, I do not have a binding contract with the company anymore. I can't even recall the cellphone number on the contract.
I would like to resolve this issue soon because I'm not gonna pay Cell C any monies.

A Wi-Fi router and a Sim card
I received a call from Cell c head office that I qualify for p40 lite and a pocket router and I agreed with them to take the package it was last year around September, October . They told me the package will be delivered to my address within the 7 working days, everyday they would sent me a massage saying my package is coming and I should be at the provided address.. 2 minutes later I would receive another massage saying "we were unable to deliver you order". That continued for about 3 weeks without receiving the package up until I cancel the order.I never received the order.!Now I took Huawei Psmart at the store and also added the insurance with a total amount of R429 pm.
So my account was debited twice in two weeks first amount was R1115 followed by R690 instead of R429. So they claim I have received WiFi router and a Sim card with data and that's not true.
Desired outcome: From now on I will reverse all the debit orders from them up until they sort this mess out because they messing my name around and I hate that

Contract
I was a cellc client since 2008 and the last few months the service I received from them was very bad. I will not advise any person to take out any contract with them. Even the after service is bad. You as the client must phone every 2 day to find out what is the status of you case. I will never again take out any contract with them.

I recently opened a contract with Cell C Friday 25 February 2022 at Zevenwacht Mall Branch, the device that I chose was the Samsung A52... the evening about 6:30pm, I tested the features of the device and was busy downloading WhatsApp Business, of which I use for work...
While I was busy downloading the app, the device started heating up so bad that I wasn't able to keep the phone in my hand... me being careful I immediately turned the phone off and returned to Zevenwacht Mall the next morning... As I was told, the device will be sent in on Monday to the repairs Department for an analysis and that I should wait 3-5 working days...
Today is Friday 4 March 2022, I called the customer Care line for an update about my phone... only to find out after waiting for 20 mins talking to the Consultant at the Repairs, that my phone was not even sent from Zevewacht Mall to them...
For a first time client to open a contract With Cell C, I must say this is putrid... the worst services I have ever received...
I will make a stop order to my bank account and will take this further cause seriously this is unfair towards me, opening up a contract, phone not sent to the repairs for an assessment and not having a phone for this week...

I feel that Cell C had to remove the device of their shelves as I was told in store at Zevenwacht mall that they and I quote "Cell C" is aware that the Samsung batch of A52's are faulty. What I would like to know is how can they tie us down to a two year long contract when the device is purely defective. My phone was brand new and it restarted over and over, it overheated, the picture was distorted and the battery ran down within an hour of being FULLY charged. This is my email to them below as well as their response...

I am quoting from what was said by your colleague and yourself yesterday, “Cell C is aware that the batch of Samsung A52 are faulty.” I would just like to know if Cell C is fully aware that the batch is faulty, why not recall the batch instead of continue to advertise it and make sales at the customers expense? I am not happy that the phone will be fixed and sent back to me, the handset is purely defective, and I understand that it is not an out of box failure however, it was known that the batch of phones were defective. Cell C is aware of the issue and am not going to sit with a contract for 2 years when it has already started this way. I really want to know what the outcome will be after the phone has been tested and repaired. I feel as a consumer, if I am going to be paying for something then it needs to be fully operational in working order. I don’t have the phone for 2 weeks and it is already malfunctioning and I know that this will continue to happen.
This is not your fault, but Cell C should actually send back the defective batch. This is purely a manufacturing fault and in terms of the CPA, the handset should be replaced because it’s within the 6months. Is there a manager I could speak to regarding this please.

I am terribly sorry for your experience so far regarding this matter. However the repair process is unfortunately the only option that is available to us currently, and we will have wait until it is completed before any decisions can be made. We will certainly keep you posted, and trust for a favorable outcome.
Fraudulent contract upgrade
My existing contract is for 2 sim cards and the monthly debit order is for r 69.98; on january 1st this year, an amount of r 1 340.87 went off my bank account and on querying it was found that my contract was upgraded in november 2021. I was advised to email an affidavit, proof of payment of the debit order and my id to the frauds deparmtent. After the 3rd email, numerous calls, where i get transferred from 1 department to another, another debit order went off on the 1st of february and another on the 1st of march. My last call to cell c today was cut off when i demanded to speak to somebody who can resolve this issue today.
I am not sure who can be contacted to resolve this issue, i want my monies back and dont know how to about this.

I contacted Cell C wanting to enquire about the debit order. Contact center agent Monica asked me 5 simple personal questions. The she tells me she is unable to assist I have failed the security check.
Theyvare busy doing unauthorized debits but can't assist me.
I asked for supervisor Tshepiso who didn't want to speak to me saying she will call me back.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I've never met a more incompetent bunch in my entire life. The lack of basic customer service is absolutely shocking!
I get phoned by a debt collector in October 2021 telling me that I'm behind on my Cell C account, which I duly pay (R4500). Please note that not once was I contacted by Cell C - no phone call, SMS or email telling me that I'm behind on my account - you just get handed over. I duly buy the amount the same day.
Since then, I pay my monthly account, but for the past month or so, I started getting SMS's saying that my account is in arrears and that I should make at least a minimum payment of R100. Now I'm confused, as I've been doing my part and paying my account. After numerous emails to Cell C, debt collection agency etc., I get a statement which says I'm over R5000 in credit...confusion right? I request a paid-up letter and I never receive one. You can plead, threaten, yell until you're blue in the face - NOTHING.
Surprise, surprise - this morning I receive a call from a 2nd Debt collection agency, telling me that I've been handed over by Cell C in December already because I owe more than R3000... How the hell is this even possible?
Desired outcome: I want a paid up letter and a dissolution of the contract.
Fraud case
on 1/1/2022 the payment for CellC was taken from my account, however, this is supposed to be R189, they took R299. I called them and on speaking to a consultant, someone "upgraded" on my account. I asked for this to be referred to fraud department and for my contract to be CANCELLED. I reversed the R299, they called me I told them I only authorised R189 and that I wasn't going to pay them until this is finalised, they kept taking the R299 and I kept reversing. I called them again, only to be told on 18/1/2022 my case was sent to fraud and that someone would contact me (ref no. [protected]) To date I have heard nothing, now I receive statements for R149 (without the handset that was on the fraudulent upgrade). I eventually let them take the 299 but they took R70 extra as a fee for the reversal, again they have taken a further R70 for reversal and low and behold, HAVE NOT CANCELLED THE CONTRACT AND HAVE NOT GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME re the fraud. I am going to lay a charge against them as I authorised 189 that's it and they just keep taking and taking ... how do I make this stop. Due to the way they have treated my, I am sure its a staff member who saw fit to upgrade on my account.
