Contract
I was a cellc client since 2008 and the last few months the service I received from them was very bad. I will not advise any person to take out any contract with them. Even the after service is bad. You as the client must phone every 2 day to find out what is the status of you case. I will never again take out any contract with them.

I want to make a complaint to the Head office with regards to the Zevenwacht Mall branch for their poor service, if not TERRIBLE AND PUTRID!
I recently opened a contract with Cell C Friday 25 February 2022 at Zevenwacht Mall Branch, the device that I chose was the Samsung A52... the evening about 6:30pm, I tested the features of the device and was busy downloading WhatsApp Business, of which I use for work...
While I was busy downloading the app, the device started heating up so bad that I wasn't able to keep the phone in my hand... me being careful I immediately turned the phone off and returned to Zevenwacht Mall the next morning... As I was told, the device will be sent in on Monday to the repairs Department for an analysis and that I should wait 3-5 working days...
Today is Friday 4 March 2022, I called the customer Care line for an update about my phone... only to find out after waiting for 20 mins talking to the Consultant at the Repairs, that my phone was not even sent from Zevewacht Mall to them...
For a first time client to open a contract With Cell C, I must say this is putrid... the worst services I have ever received...
I will make a stop order to my bank account and will take this further cause seriously this is unfair towards me, opening up a contract, phone not sent to the repairs for an assessment and not having a phone for this week...

I feel that Cell C had to remove the device of their shelves as I was told in store at Zevenwacht mall that they and I quote "Cell C" is aware that the Samsung batch of A52's are faulty. What I would like to know is how can they tie us down to a two year long contract when the device is purely defective. My phone was brand new and it restarted over and over, it overheated, the picture was distorted and the battery ran down within an hour of being FULLY charged. This is my email to them below as well as their response...

I am quoting from what was said by your colleague and yourself yesterday, “Cell C is aware that the batch of Samsung A52 are faulty.” I would just like to know if Cell C is fully aware that the batch is faulty, why not recall the batch instead of continue to advertise it and make sales at the customers expense? I am not happy that the phone will be fixed and sent back to me, the handset is purely defective, and I understand that it is not an out of box failure however, it was known that the batch of phones were defective. Cell C is aware of the issue and am not going to sit with a contract for 2 years when it has already started this way. I really want to know what the outcome will be after the phone has been tested and repaired. I feel as a consumer, if I am going to be paying for something then it needs to be fully operational in working order. I don’t have the phone for 2 weeks and it is already malfunctioning and I know that this will continue to happen.
This is not your fault, but Cell C should actually send back the defective batch. This is purely a manufacturing fault and in terms of the CPA, the handset should be replaced because it’s within the 6months. Is there a manager I could speak to regarding this please.

I am terribly sorry for your experience so far regarding this matter. However the repair process is unfortunately the only option that is available to us currently, and we will have wait until it is completed before any decisions can be made. We will certainly keep you posted, and trust for a favorable outcome.
Fraudulent contract upgrade
My existing contract is for 2 sim cards and the monthly debit order is for r 69.98; on january 1st this year, an amount of r 1 340.87 went off my bank account and on querying it was found that my contract was upgraded in november 2021. I was advised to email an affidavit, proof of payment of the debit order and my id to the frauds deparmtent. After the 3rd email, numerous calls, where i get transferred from 1 department to another, another debit order went off on the 1st of february and another on the 1st of march. My last call to cell c today was cut off when i demanded to speak to somebody who can resolve this issue today.
I am not sure who can be contacted to resolve this issue, i want my monies back and dont know how to about this.

I contacted Cell C wanting to enquire about the debit order. Contact center agent Monica asked me 5 simple personal questions. The she tells me she is unable to assist I have failed the security check.
Theyvare busy doing unauthorized debits but can't assist me.
I asked for supervisor Tshepiso who didn't want to speak to me saying she will call me back.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I've never met a more incompetent bunch in my entire life. The lack of basic customer service is absolutely shocking!
I get phoned by a debt collector in October 2021 telling me that I'm behind on my Cell C account, which I duly pay (R4500). Please note that not once was I contacted by Cell C - no phone call, SMS or email telling me that I'm behind on my account - you just get handed over. I duly buy the amount the same day.
Since then, I pay my monthly account, but for the past month or so, I started getting SMS's saying that my account is in arrears and that I should make at least a minimum payment of R100. Now I'm confused, as I've been doing my part and paying my account. After numerous emails to Cell C, debt collection agency etc., I get a statement which says I'm over R5000 in credit...confusion right? I request a paid-up letter and I never receive one. You can plead, threaten, yell until you're blue in the face - NOTHING.
Surprise, surprise - this morning I receive a call from a 2nd Debt collection agency, telling me that I've been handed over by Cell C in December already because I owe more than R3000... How the hell is this even possible?
Desired outcome: I want a paid up letter and a dissolution of the contract.
Fraud case
on 1/1/2022 the payment for CellC was taken from my account, however, this is supposed to be R189, they took R299. I called them and on speaking to a consultant, someone "upgraded" on my account. I asked for this to be referred to fraud department and for my contract to be CANCELLED. I reversed the R299, they called me I told them I only authorised R189 and that I wasn't going to pay them until this is finalised, they kept taking the R299 and I kept reversing. I called them again, only to be told on 18/1/2022 my case was sent to fraud and that someone would contact me (ref no. [protected]) To date I have heard nothing, now I receive statements for R149 (without the handset that was on the fraudulent upgrade). I eventually let them take the 299 but they took R70 extra as a fee for the reversal, again they have taken a further R70 for reversal and low and behold, HAVE NOT CANCELLED THE CONTRACT AND HAVE NOT GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME re the fraud. I am going to lay a charge against them as I authorised 189 that's it and they just keep taking and taking ... how do I make this stop. Due to the way they have treated my, I am sure its a staff member who saw fit to upgrade on my account.

A fraudulent contract has been taken out on my name at Cell C
I am being billed for the amount of R74000.00 rand for a cell phone number that I do not even have. I have contacted the fraud department at Cell C who told me I need to send them an affidavit stating it is not my number, a copy of my ID and a copy of my bank statement where the debit orders were trying to be deducted from my bank account. It has been a month and not a word from Cell C except to phone me to find out why my bill has not been paid. When I explained that it is not my bill they confirmed that a query had been logged with their fraud department. In December 2021, debit order transactions registered on my bank account for the amount of R20000.00 four times, in January the bill was sitting at R60000.00 and as of yesterday 28 February 2022 the debit order that bounced(thank God) was R74000.00...Who the hell runs up a cell phone bill of R74 000.00. I phoned customer care today, eventually spoke to a consultant who told me to hold and then the call ended with me hanging on listening in disbelief to the beep beep. I have not recieved a statement from Cell C since the November 2021 and if I try log in to the cell c app, it tells me my password has changed. Further more I cannot pay my own cell c bill as it is now linked to this other number. This needs to be sorted out. It is damaging my credit record and every time a debit order bounces I get charge for it.
Desired outcome: I just want the number that is not mine to be taken off my name. An apology from Cell C in writing confirming that I do not have this number so that my credit record remains unblemished

Cell C - Month to Month Contract
I purchased a 10gig Month to Month data package from Cell C in November 2021. The consultant [censored]hri said I can cancel any time, and the contract will come to an end after 30 days. When I tried to cancel on the 29 th of February, the consultant informed me that Cell C's terms and conditions have changed, and my contract was moved to a 24 month contract.
I never received any documentation informing me of the change, otherwise I would have cancelled immediately. I never agreed to a 24 month contract, hence why I only took a month to month contract. I am also informed that all calls were recorded. I told him I did not want any contracts especially 24 months.
Can anyone please assist me in canceling this and a new device contract I took out yesterday as I told the salesman I do not want 2 contracts. I do not want to deal with Cell C anylonger. I tried canceling the device contract less than an hour later but no one cared to assist. They promised to get a team leader to call me back. I'm still waiting.

Good day, Please contact them on Twitter. Thats what I did. Someone from Social media department phoned me, listened to the original recording of when you took out the contract, then cancelled both my lines. Everything happened within 12 hours of me sending them a DM on twitter. Good luck.
The same thing happened to me. I agreed to a month-to-month contract in November 2020. I went to Cell C in the beginning of the month to cancel my contract and was also told the contract has changed and I need to pay a commitment fee of R 4600 as the contract is valid until Jan 2023.
Cell C is robbing us. I also want this contract cancelled and refuse to pay any money. Did you manage to get yours resolved?
Fraudulent debit order processed monthly
I have never opened or owned a Cell C account, product or service.
I have been receiving a monthly debit order that has been processed fraudulently under my bank account since January 2022.
The latest debit order went through on 28 February 2022, under C Cell for the amount of R2073.04.
Can you please delete this fraudulant debit order / fraudulent use of my Standard Bank Account on your system.
These fraudulent transactions are going through on my Standard Bank account. I have sent 7 emails with attachments of proof as requested and no assistance to resolve this fraud has been taken.

6 days no sim swop completed
I emailed Cell C Business 6 days ago for a sim swop on one of our sims as an employee's phone was stolen.
Not one reply regarding the request sent.
I have asked for itemized billing for the same number, which I believe our account had been loaded and charged with, yet, still no itemized billing received on the number in question.
When I phone any of the advertised numbers to reach out to Cell C, after making a selection in the que of questions, the answering services informs one that "Your request could not be routed"
Is there a senior manager or account manager that I can get hold of to urgently assist?

No Debit order
Over the past 3-6 months I have been calling Cell C to sort out their billing issues, they don't deduct the funds from my account and you have to constantly call them to get the issue resolved, which up to now still hasn't been resolved.
One of the representatives also informed me that Cell C has an issue on their account side and that they can't sort it out, how is this the consumer's problem?
I then paid R2000 to get the account up to date, which doesn't even reflect on my last statement from them, this is after the representative told me that it will help rectify the account balance,
This has now led to my credit score being impacted due to non-payment.
Desired outcome: Revert the non-payment on my ITC and resolve this issue!
Month to Month Contract
I purchased 2 Month to Month contracts from Cell C on the 10 th of January. The consultant said I can cancel any time, and the contract will come to an end after 30 days. When I tried to cancel both on the 25 th of February, the consultant informed me that Cell C's terms and conditions have changed, and my contract was moved to a 24 month contract.

The sales consultant confirmed that it's a month to month contract only to find out today when i want to cancel that it's a 24 month contract i need to pay R1000 cancelation fee.
I want the recording to be retrieved for this sale when i was assured that this was a month to month plan not a 24 months contract.

Cell C phoned me for an upgrade in November, during which they informed me it was a "Sim only" deal. I told the lady I do not want the contract. The next day I got a SMS informing me my upgrade was done successfully. I phoned Cell C that I did not want the upgrade. Until today (23/02/2022) it is still not reversed/cancelled. I spoke to the accounts department and was advised that I am using the contract for 3 months already. How long must I still wait to get this cancelled? I do not want the upgrade.

Payment allocation not done as per the standard turn around time
I am very disappointed with the service I'm receiving from Cell c, please see below Email confirming my proof of payment was received and sent for allocation.
From sending Emails to calling and speaking to different consultants this has become very frustrating for me, I know I mistakenly made payments into the incorrect account however is there no process with regards to how allocation can be done faster and how the consultants can handle such queries.
This has affected my credit profile at all credit bureaus and I need this to be sorted out ASAP.
Please assist with the payment allocation and I also need an apology letter as the service received was really bad.

Delivering of my handset with my new contract
I have upgrade my cell c contract on the 9th of December 2021. They were out of stock but said they will get back to me. Today is the 22 February 2022. I haven't received anything from them. I called them, e-mail them ext. I can't talk with anybody. Same old story. We can't help you. We will call you back, but nobody is calling back.. All I want is my handset.. I need it for my work.. I don't know what to do anymore.. My hands are tide and I am so tired of poor service.

Phone contract
In October 2021, I ported my number out of Cell C. I was told by Cell C that by doing this, my contract would be automatically cancelled. I was therefore very surprised when Cell C debited my bank account the next month (November). I thought perhaps that was the last debit so I put in a stop order. I then received a bill for December. I paid it just to get it done and finished. I called Cell C and asked them to look into my cancellation and they said they reviewed the phone records and I had not in fact cancelled my account. So they cancelled it and sent an SMS saying my account was cancelled on 12 January. Then I got a bill for January - and when I didn’t pay they they slapped on a R70 fine for a failed debit order penalty fee and handed me over to their debt department. I am outraged at their treatment of me as a formerly very loyal customer. And I think it completely unfair that they billed me for 3 months of services that I could not receive or use because I had ported out of my Cell C number.

The customer service is the worst! I have been trying to cancel my contract for months and have received no assistance. My father who was the account holder for my contract passed away in May 2021 and I notified Cell c of my wishes to cancel the contract and keep my number on prepaid. I have sent multiple emails to different people with the death certificate and my ID documents but I keep getting a response that my email has been received and will be sent to the relevant department. This is so frustrating because I cannot use my phone to make calls nor buy airtime. The service I have received is disheartening and I would really like for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible

Cell phone contract
I had a contract with Cell C but lost my job I'm Maxch 2021 and could not continue paying.
I informed the company and received no response. But they continued debating my account even after the expiry of the contract in July or so. Currently my debit balance is at R37000, I cannot pay this amount for the following reasons:
1. I amnnotvemployed as I said.
2. I cannot pay the full amount for the services not rendered.
3. The company never responded to my notification of non-employment
4. The contract has expired.
5. Cell C has caused me an unnecessary accumulation of bank charges when they new there was no more salary coming into my account.
Desired outcome: The cancelation of this unreasonable debt and clearance of my credit record.

Poor service
I have made a payment 9 February for my account, i have 2 accounts with them ive contacted them since 9 February to allocate the amount that ive paid to both accounts, still no response.
I have heard they escalated the matter
I have heard they will phone me in 24 hours and still nothing.
I have been a client for more that 4 years and now they email me and ask for my number.
I have sended the proof of payment more than 4 times and have spoken to 10 different people.
This doesn't work for me.
