This is feedback regarding this order: 1887935 which I placed online through the Chowsing website for delivery on 19th August 2023.
The local branch/store in General Luna, Iloilo City called up the intended recipient this morning directly and attempted to cancel the order. This is without informing me -- the one who placed the order. Had I not called later in the evening, I would not have known about this attempt. Additionally, if the recipient had not responded to this attempt, to report them for blacklisting because of the short notice cancellation when in fact the order was placed days before (13th August) and acknowledgements were sent to me via email and the recipient via text. The reason provided was supposedly that there was no available delivery courier. I had sent at least 3 messages to contact the Chowking store (as reminder, request for status and confirmation of delivery) but did not even receive an acknowledgement of my message, any response or even confirmation that the order has been delivered. The 'Track Order' in the Chowking website does not show the latest status and remains unchanged.
The order was eventually delivered using a third party delivery courier (foodpanda). My second concern is that the wrong address (not the address that I indicated in my order details) was provided to the third party courier. I found out about this from recipient herself who talked to the foodpanda delivery person. I even added instructions (colour of gate, landmarks near of the house) to help locate the address when I placed my order. The delivery courier eventually found the address thankfully.
My experience as well as the recipient's led us to decide not to place orders through delivery or online again.
Desired outcome: I would recommend that the Chowking headquarters look into the reliability and integrity of your local branches. It does not reflect well on Chowking's brand and image.
