Management and clerk was arguing with me in front of customers and I'm a paying customer. Clerk was laughing and being rude she didn't want to explain about the wrong prices listed. All three workers were going against a paying cutomer. This happened at the Vons on Adams Ave. At 8pm manager was down talking me and telling me she doesn't have to be quiet and she didn't care if I was a customer.
customer service
I brought all of my groceries to the register. I had a cracked egg in a carton. The cashier instructed me, after I paid to go to the back o the store and get a new carton. He even gave me a new empty bag to put the eggs in. After I got the new carton of eggs, I walked to my vehicle where a very aggressive and threatening man followed me to my truck and as I was unlocking my door yells "hey man, I need to talk to you!", from behind me. After nearly having a heart attack thinking I was getting robbed, I was then harnessed on the spot in the parkinglot. At this point, I instructed this employee to head inside this store so that I could speak to a manager. After seeing how many people were watching me "steal eggs" from your store and feeling humiliated, I chose to leave the store to collect myself. I speak a lot of money and have frequented this store for almost 14 years. I have never been so insulted by an employee, ever. I will be damned if I will ever let any friend or relative of mine step foot in any vons store unless this issue is addressed personally by that store manager to me. Thank you for your time. This was the vons on windmill and bermuda. 89123. I do not have a receipt number because it was taken from me by the employee.
deli / bakery
I have been frequenting the Von's at 710 Broadway in Santa Monica and after this encounter, I will no longer be visiting Von's. The employees working the Deli are very negative and are always complaining about how busy they are and when it comes to making sandwiches, the quality and care going into it is disgusting. They do not care about the food or the customer and it is ridiculous.
There is an oriental women who constantly rushes through making your food and get the order and proportion of ingredients all wrong. I initially was thinking she was having a bad day but this is the 4th time now that she has been very rude and not helpful with my order.
You've lost a customer and you need to fix the situation at this store because. ALL Associates in the Deli are rude and seem to hate their job.
buy 4 - no blue bunny ice cream
This week, Vons is advertising - Buy 4 or more and Blue Bunny Ice Cream is only $1.99 each. I phoned a large Vons store in my neighborhood to inquire what flavors they currently have on hand ( 3550 Murphy Canyon Dr San Diego, CA 92123) and was informed "We don't carry it anymore)...This clearly appears to be a "Bate and Switch"
tactic that is illegal in Caliofnia. I'm currently on hold to speak with Von's customer service (12-minute hold so far) and will be posting to Yelp.com
theft - vons on california street in pasadena
After shopping yesterday evening, I erroneously left my wallet in my shopping cart. However, I realized my error shortly thereafter and circled back to retrieve it. The basket had been removed by an employee yet no one reported they had found a wallet. I called 911 and they instructed me to ask the manager to roll the video tape back. When I presented this request to the manager, he informed me that they didn't have cameras in the parking lot which I found to be odd! I was really disappointed with the whole experience and will never shop there again! I don't normally go to this store and this experience has completely sealed the deal for me.
harassed by staff
I've never felt so harassed and humiliated at any grocery store ever, until today. I walked up to this Vons with my service animal today, just to get a couple things. While I was waiting for the deli to help me, a lady who works there's walks up to me and says "you're not aloud to have dogs in here" I say "it's a service animal" she then goes "is it a service animal?" So I respond "yes, that's what I just said and I have his papers from my clinic" she proceeds to ask what type of service my pet provides, I inform her that she's not aloud to ask that as I don't feel comfortable sharing my disorder with a complete stranger. She then follows me around the store lurking behind isles and to be completely honest, creeping me the hell out. Finally she comes up to me again and asks "what services does your pet provide?" I inform her once again that she has no right to ask me that, and by this time I'm feeling so uncomfortable and harassed I'm about to have a break down. I doubt I'll be returning to this particular Vons ever again. Shame on you Vons and your staff!
Your incident with VONS is an internal HR Training matter. The person or persons within the Corporate HR department took it upon themselves to instruct ALL of their employees who attended their "in house" ADA Service Animal training module by instructing employees that it is okay to violate ADA laws. The VONS corporate Human Resources Department empowered their employees by teaching them illegal tactics such bullying, harassment, embarrassment and humiliation as a way to shake off disabled persons who bring their service animal into their stores. Every VONS store is responsible and should be held accountable for using these illegal maneuvers and thereby should have ADA complaints filed against all of them and be sued gross misconduct of training employees. I am filing a complaint tomorrow on one of their stores. Tonight was the third time I was bullied, harassed, belittled and ganged up upon by 3 of their employees. I did not stand down. I did not cower. The employees have been taught to go beyond what they legally can do with regards to service animals. These employees were told that it is okay to harass and bulky anyone who has a service animal. They were taught "four on the floor" as some sort of key as to whether a service animal is one or not. The "four on the floor" is ILLEGAL and should NEVER be used to determine if a service animal is truly a service animal. They also DEMAND that they see registration tags showing that the animal is registered. There IS NO GOVERNMENT registry. Some cities have a special tab within their Dog Licensing database that has a checkmark stating the animal is a service animal but the issue is..VONS EMPLOYEES CANNOT ASK IF THE DOG IS REGISTERED. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO ASK. VONS Corporate Human Resources must be held accountable for blatant disregard to ADA LAWS. Without question. I'm taking them down. They must be stopped.
just4u and hiring practices
The Just4U program uses trickery to get you in the store. It advertised in 4U a 3lb. bag of Mandarins for $3.99. I went there and the produce person said they have not had those for a few weeks and do not intend to get more. Another issue is that Vons hires individuals who are convicted felons of serious crimes and fugitives of the law. One is named Shanera Gomez, aka Shanera Keitt. If this is the type of person I am dealing with at Vons, unknowingly, then I prefer to go elsewhere. I do not like deceit.
She committed sexual abuse, on her own child and has a warrant out of Dekalb county.
manager ryan holohan store# 2027
Being a manager is understandably tough and needs a special skill to participate in such a position. My concern is how he managed to put my wife back in a depression. So I spoke with her, the questions were, with a "sassy tone" telling her to sit down, why were you late, is there anything you wanna tell me, I don't know what you were doing before I haven't pulled up your records. I'm giving you a verbal warning, you been late 4 X's in 2 weeks.
As a manager myself I learned if a person has been off of work due medical, I have gone that extra step to show compassion and an approach less prideful. Especially to a female who has gone through a depression.
I would have asked my employee if she'd like to have a seat in a more subtle tone.
I have done my homework on my employees to know who, what, where, when, why...etc Ryan failed to do his homework which is why the sassy, an unproffesional characteristic trait picked up from the street.
My wife does not feel comfortable speaking with menabout her medical condition, she is very private. So when he asked, "is there anything you want to say?" my wife said no because of the way he approached her.
To me, it sounds like he's young, and has a whole lot to learn about management so my vote is for him to step down from position and grow up a little more. To be retrained on how to "evaluate" and "control" HIMSELF before he can even begin to evaluate and control his duties pertinent to his title.
Thank you for listening to my issue with vons

disabled assistance/ total disregard
Von's 1790 Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks, Ca. 05.08/18 @ 16:41. TOTAL disregard for the disabled. I was ignored 3 times during my visit while struggling with a 10 pound sack of potatoes. In each case your clerk quickly glared at me and left. The the third time your clerk walked in front of my electric cart so I had to stop for him. No one offer to help me to my handicapped car. The reason I shop there is that the electric carts are always available. I only shop stores that have them. Is this to be anew part of you procedure?
cantaloupe
I purchased cantaloupe from Vons. It was expired yesterday may 7th. After I ate one I noticed that it tasted funny and was bubbling on my tongue like soda. I then checked the date it was expired. I look at the fruit really good and it had white spots all over them. I'm pregnant and REALLY don't need to be eating anything that's bad like this.I know there is a policy on checking fruit amd produce why was this done. I'm not feeling well now on top of me being pregnant. Who can I talk to to seek justice out of this matter? Cause this is NOT okay.
Check your food before shoving it into your pile-hole?
Do you know how long and an expensive of a process food poisoning is? If you actually did have the poisoning, which you obviously don't, you wouldn't be typing at this forum here.
And how much was the cost, $2.00? $3.00? Compared to HUNDREDS more of a food poisoning claim?
Your pregnant and should be even more aware of what you eat. Just go to a doctor and check yourself out. Keep the melon pieces if you want to show them.
sour lucerne 2% milk
I've been a vons shopper for over 30 years. I've been having this recurring problem for over a year. I've complained on the site "von4u" with no response to this problem. I've also mentioned to the checkers when we are checking out, only to be told to lodge a complaint, which I've done numerous times, and bring back the milk when it's bad.
When I'm cooking a meal, or wanting some milk, I'm not going to drop everything to take the BAD milk back to the store, my life is just too busy for that. I did keep the last two containers so I could give this information to the store, which I did verbally this morning. The response from the person I spoke with was not very reassuring that you were going to do anything about this problem. Milk is expensive, I'm out quite a bit of money buying this milk. I just bought one yesterday with a sell date of May 12, 2018, opened it up and it was SOUR AGAIN!. this was just after another milk I had that expires May 8 which is tomorrow, and it was bad a week ago. There's something really wrong on your end, that needs to be looked into. I hope that someone gets back with me regarding this matter. This isn't just happening at one store, it's Vons on Ximeno, Pavillion on Spring and Pavillion in Seal Beach. All your stores are having the same problem! My card number is [protected]
Since my last report about SOUR MILK, the saga continues. Vons has never gotten ahold of me, even with me calling and telling them this problem on the phone. I'm really getting tired of buying bad milk from VONS! I'm now checking the milk at the casihers checkout. I did this last week, bought it, opened it in front of the checker, and the milk was BAD AGAIN! Went and got another one opened it at the casihers checkout, and it was good. If anyone out there is having the same problem, check you milk before you leave the store! I'm very disappointed by Vons, not reaching out to credit me back some money, or let me know what the problem is with this MILK!
fresh cut department inequality
Shopping at the nearest Vons which is in Mission George Rd I was looking at the prepared fruit. This nice blonde lady came out of the Fresh Cut department and asked if I needed anything. This really got my attention because every time I go to that Vons it's always the same lady. Aren't there more workers? That is an unfair inequality! All I see is that woman working and doing everything by HERSELF! And I have seen more workers from the Fresh Cut department smoking, drinking Starbucks, laughing, and having fun. 3 ladies and one man always making themselves stupid and not doing anything. I urge you Vons to take care of this issue because this is not a store that me nor other would want to come to.
poor customer service
Good afternoon,
I am a Culinary Arts teacher within the Glendale Unified School District and a customer of the Vons store #1707, Glendale location. Today May 4, 2018 I called to ask a simple question and was put on hold eight separated times by several different employees. One employee Jessica (refused to give her last name when asked) was the main person I spoke with and who had me waiting on the line from 12:26 to 12:53 in the afternoon. Frustrated to say the least...I want to give your company my business, but when I cannot get adequate service...it makes it really difficult!
Sincerely,
Michelle Van

lines at the register
On my way to work this morning, I visited the Vons on Sports Arena Drive in San Diego. I grabbed produce and pre-made salad for lunch and proceeded to the register, the only open register, to get in line behind several customers. I thought perhaps I could save time by going to the self-checkout. All the self-checkout stands were closed, so I looked back to the now longer line.
I am sorry, but since my time is valuable too, I set my items on a vacant conveyor and proceeded the nearby Ralphs. As I approached the checkout, an employee said "I can help you right here, " and opened another register.
I am sure I would still have been in line at Vons.
This is the fourth time within the last few years that I have come to Vons (the closer store), and seen sometimes a dozen or more people with full carts in your only open register and then gone to Ralphs instead.
I cannot possibly be the only impatient shopper who has left in frustration. I'm sorry I deleted the photo that I took one evening of your extraordinary line...your only open line.
My policy is now to poke my head in, assess for customer service, then just leave. It's your business, I guess.
store security and lines
Von's at 25 & Western in San Pedro, CA 90731 Store#2162
This store is overrun with new customers due to the fact that the other Von's in town is a high crime area.
The lines have been absolutely insane at the peak times and those peak times are known to the customers so management must know also. I'm sure they have asked for additional staff. Are you ignoring them?
Also, there is a frequent shoplifting time of roughly 7-8pm by liquor thieves, usually minors or young adults. There used to be a "security guard" but now there is not. What changed that?
Other chain stores in our area have started putting up "turnstiles" and gates by the entrances to reduce crime. The other chains have also blocked off closed checkstands with shopping carts. With this store's theft average reaching a million dollars annually, I would think that extra staff and gates etc would be within a budget!
Correction zip code for store 2162 is 90732
bakery
Yesterday I purchased a cake for a relatives birthday. I asked the girl to add 3 names to the top of the cake. .Sean, Nate, Nat. My dad picked it up for me and I was absolutely appalled at the writing. It would've went right back but it was too late due to attending the birthday party. How embarrassing! What a waste of money. Vons should be ashamed.
I had ordered my son his graduation cake full sheet with fresh strawberries .. his school colors are yellow n black when I pick up the cake it was red n black.. n there was no filling in the cake
fire in ice cream aisle
Hello.
I was at the Long Beach location #3076 today shopping for ice cream when an electrical short occurred causing smoke, fire, sparks and extreme odor. Sparks from the freezer actually hit me. I raced to get help from an associate who had to page a supervisor twice before anyone came. Explained to her what happened, she only asked if I wanted to report it, no apology. She then made numerous attempts to get a manager to respond. I waited around, took pictures and not one person says thank you or we apologize...I've never been so angry and now I see I have burn hole in my pants I was wearing from the incident. Sorry won't be back to Vons! Taking my business elsewhere. My mother was a manager for Vons Corp and worked and retired from Vons and she was appalled as Vons strives to be above competitors with their service since you are paying a higher price for products.
employees
Bad experience with cashier. Treated me poorly. Was considerably nicer to white customers. Did not speak to me while scanning my items was only talking to the customer behind me. Was very rude. Talked to me like a dog. I was not happy with this interaction. Very embarrassed. Please do something about this employee. She was an older blonde lady with glasses.
I experienced something similar, I normally don't write complaints but this experience nearly ruined my day. All I wanted was a bag of chips so I went to the express lane, the lady running the register was significantly nicer to everyone, but me and blamed me for her machine not working (she claimed I froze it when all I did was type in my phone number for rewards) I ended up paying almost five dollars for a bag of chips even though I'm a club member and the sign said $2.99. I also had to pay in cash because her machine broke down right when I was in front of the machine. She also accused me of mumbling by saying "mahmeme" as if to say I wasn't talking loud enough for her instead of simply asking "I'm sorry I didn't catch that" or something more polite. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed that I was treated like I was a [censored] in front of a bunch of people because this lady didn't know how to do her job. The customers behind me were even mad at the way she reacted to me, it was a simple bag of chips shouldn't have taken more than a second. This lady was blond about 5'8 maybe six feet and on the bulkier side. I don't want my money back all I want is for Von's to talk to their employees about being respectful to ALL of their customers.
I was at a Von's in Henderson NV on Horizon ridge.
-Sincerely a extremely disappointed customer who wants change immediately.
cashier-acting supervisor/manager
On April 23 I went to Vons in Hacienda Heights to return meat that I discovered was bad. The cashier was curt and very rude. It was around 4:15pm and I think she was also a supervisor because she was also instructing employees. I tried to tell her why I was returning it but she made it clear she didn't want to be bothered with me. She gave me my receipt and said "Here". Also, each time I go to this store I first start shopping in the produce section. Someone announces a code on the PA system and immediately security shoppers start following me around the store. Sometimes they guard me so close they interfere with my shopping and make me nervous.in summary, this store employees need training in customer service and to stop treating their customers like criminals when they shop.
money services and poor customer service
I've played my credit card at my local Vons since I've had a credit card, my last two attempts to pay my card, failed completely. I'm disabled and getting to Vons is the easiest for me. The manager grisel or gissel twice gas turned me away stating I could've not payed my bill there because she's never heard about the company excepting credit card payments ? I stated I've never had a problem making payments in the past. She's rude and unbelievable that she doesn't know money services offered as a manager?

I used to shop at the Vons in Camarillo off of Arneil and Ponderosa until I had the terrible experience of watching an older very unhappy employee degrade a co-worker and so not only was Korine or Karine being extremely mean to her co-worker but I saw her physically push the girl as well! I have never seen such cruel, unprofessional, pathetic behavior in all the years I've shopped at Vons. Not sure if I'll shop there ever again!
