Mixed Experiences at Dick's Sporting Goods
As someone who loves sports and outdoor activities, I've had mixed experiences shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods. I asked for help and was ignored
I tried to get help from an associate, who i think was in charge on 03/17/23. I dont know who he is since i didnt see a nametag or but he had a radio and clothes in his hands. As I asked for help, he just sped in a different direction and wouldn't speak to me and i feel it was disrespectful and unprofessional. I eventually got some help from the nicer ladies at the front
I have had very good luck
Sales people are very helpful. If they do not have the specific item you want in store. They will go online with you to get it. Or they will recommend you to another store such as Golf Galaxy. I have bought stuff recently for my son who is a lefty golfer. Not always easiest thing to get. However, when Dicks did not have the item online or in store. They sent me to Golf Galaxy (which they own) and they priced matched the item to the sale price.

Batting help
I went to the Dicks at Fayetteville mall in Lexington ky trying to find my son a new tee-ball bat, I had a few I wanted to try and a sales person named Tucker. He took my son and I into the indoor cage they have and told us we had 4 swings with each bat, well he went above and beyond as far as helping me with my son to get comfortable with his new bat and swinging techniques. I have never had such good service from an employee and I shop at this store a lot. I just wanted to tell him thank you and great job, I hope you know what kind of employee this gentleman is.

Dick's Sporting goods at Delta Park Portland, Oregon is just the happiest. Customer service oriented retail I have experienced in a while. Hats off to cashier, Bri and managers Eric and Mike: And especially Eric at Corporate customer service. There was an issue with the tent I ordered: They all helped get that that issue fixed w/out showing frustration of judgment! Dick's staff does care about the sports and well being of their customers. They are patient and kind and actually ASK questions in order to super know what the issue is.

Ridiculous freight shipping
My partner and I have been waiting on a kayak since middle of May and the pilot company who works with Dick's Sporting goods and handles freight shipping said our kayak should be here over a week ago and when we called to check they said once it gets to this location another shipping company will call us and we have yet to receive any calls even though it's been at the location since our expected delivery date. Over a week ago. But we called dicks and they are returning the 250 shipping fee and going to call to figure out where our kayak is. Very grateful they are doing something about the issue

On December 20th, I was doing shopping in your shop for some gear of snowboarding.
And it was the best shopping experience I ever had in Dick's sporting good. When I was shopping, a shop keeper came up and asks me what I was looking for. After knowing it was my first time to go snowboarding, he helped me to find a good snowboarding pant, which is good for a learner. Also, he found me a pair of glove, which can be connected with my jacket, and a goggle which matches my helmet as well. Moreover, the shop keeper recommends me some protection pant, which was 49 dollars before, but it is 9.99 dollars after discount. I have to say everything he recommend me to buy is worthy.

I just wanted to say a big BIG thank you to Michael at the Mentor store. This man went above and way beyond. I was in a horrible mood and of course last minute my child alerted me to an absolute need for the next day for her wrestling match. I arrived at the store not in a mood to be mislead or toyed with. Michael (Stix) immediately jumped into action, not only got me what I needed but checked to see if it was cheaper with another brand and just gave me such a good experience I literally was in a better mood than when I arrived. Corporate Steps Up
Sometimes you dont always have the best experience with a store you would expect. After shopping at a Dicks store in NC an iteam was on display but not available and it had to be shipped at my expense or picked up at a store an hour away. Speaking with the clerk and then a manager I was told there was nothing they could do. I found this to be an unacceptable answer. I did purchase the iteam because it was for my son and I did not want to disappoint him. When I arrived home I was still not happy so I called corporate custermer sevice and spoke to Michele Willlams and after explaining how I was treated he quickly rectified the problem with a twenty dollar rewards on my score card and a ten dollar credit on my credit card for the iteam purchased.
Sometimes a store dose not always reflect the corporates philosophy.

Just spoke with the supervisor at the call center who left a lot to be desired. She was so unwilling to help that she asked in a snarky manner, what can I do to help...to make a point that I was being unreasonable. My order was canceled multiple times without an explanation. Calls were unhelpful and they have no chat function online or email. Each time I click on chat it takes me back to the phone number. When I explained that my shoe size was rare and that finding my size in a style and brand that fit for 80% off was a huge deal, the supervisor never once said she would help me find it or a similar deal. Until I told her that as a manager it's her job to problem solve and I mentioned that the shoe and price were now gone she never offered to help me match the price or how to get that resolved. Finally after telling her three times that it's her job to problem solve after she defensively stated that I wasn't getting bad service, and again explaining that the sale is over she then told me that they might help match prices if I call back again. They also continue to repeatedly change my name and then have the nerve to be disrespectful and claim its not my name. When I went to the closest location in person, not only did a cashier who isn't a supervisor offer to help me look for a shoe but he gave me a $10 off coupon for the inconvenience. If a young cashier can treat a customer this well, a manager can help. I stand all day for work and get paid so little I can't afford comfortable shoes. The pain is so horrible that I'm not sure I can keep working. The only shoes the sell in my size in the store is my one week salary. So finding shoes that I can afford in my size is a big issue. It was in stock when I ordered but it is now gone because I couldn't reach customer service in time. They also did not give me a reason why my orders were repeatedly canceled or how to contact them. They need to train staff and treat customers better.
used Hanover store but I am sure the problem is widespread OK to buy clothes etc but do not bother to buy any equipment, I purchased an elliptical through their store the process was painful, the company they used for assembly ,select express was disorganized and inefficient, the manager tried to do his best to help me out which I appreciate but having said that Dicks is way over the head when it comes to exercise equipment, they need to realize that and stick with selling in store merchandise.
If I could give this zero stars I would. Customer service was horrible. I ordered Jordan’s online last week and when I got them the box was destroyed , creased and stretched out. so I looked at the bottom of the shoe and they’ve been WORN. Purchased it online , that was over 3 wks ago, no email with a tracking number, customer service absolutely a horrific disaster, they couldn't find my order even with all the info and confirmation number, gave me a number to call. They said it was mailed out ( l) but no tracking number. They will not respond to my emails and I'm furious they took my money but no gift card.
Dicks offers an asurion protection plan. Store says it replaces for worn out products. This is absolutely not true. I know numerous people who have fell prey to their scam. I would recommend an attorney file a class action against them

If I were able to leave a 0 star I would. Was given a coupon from ***. The store would not honor. I asked for the manager, and spoke to her.. She did nothing to help. I have 3 kids that ALL play sports and we get these coupons all of the time so it's not like they are a rare event! Manager Gave me the run around.. I need help. I want to know if this is considered abuse and what I can do to prevent it. I don't want any other children to go through this. On the morning of June 19, I took my 9-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter to the store to buy a bicycle for my son. We were all very excited because he was going to upgrade from a kids' bike to a bigger one with handle brakes. Since I had done some research, I asked the salesperson, whose name I don't remember, to let my son try a 20" wheel bike. The salesperson had my son sit on the bike seat and hold onto the front wheel with his legs. He then asked my son to step down on the bar. Their faces were about 10 inches apart. He said to my son, "THIS IS TOO BIG FOR YOU!" I respectfully asked if we could try it out here because I thought it might be the right size, or if my son could grow into it. The salesperson ignored me again and said directly to my son, while looking down at his face, "OH NO, THIS IS TOO BIG FOR YOU, YOU MAY DIE, OR YOU WILL GET HURT!" I thought he might be joking for a moment, but he seemed very serious. Immediately, my son got off the bike and nervously told me, "I don't need it, it's too big. I don't want a bigger bike anymore, I will get hurt!" I tried to stay calm so as not to scare my son any further. I asked the salesperson, "What would you recommend?" He pointed to the kids' bikes in boxes. I quickly said, "Thank you for your help, we're done for today." However, I realized I needed to speak up. I told him, "Sir, I respect what you do, but you should never tell a child that they may die or get hurt!" There was another employee present the whole time. Then the salesperson, who seemed deeply offended, raised his voice and started talking about his own children who are all grown up. None of it was relevant at that point. Both of my kids were upset with me. My son was really shaken up. As I walked away, I tried to stop the salesperson from talking by saying, "That's okay, ***..." My kids started to think that the salesperson was the expert...
Worst shopping experience I have ever had. Ordered camping equipment and they sent the wrong tent. They had me purchase it again and print off a return label for the incorrect one. It was received and signed for at their facility on 5/24/2022 and they have yet to refund the purchase. When I called they said that they never received it. I opened a claim with FedEx and the denied it saying it was delivered and signed for by ***. I called dicks back and they were all apologizing and flabbergasted at why it hasn't been refunded yet and said he would have it resolved immediately. We'll, week later, today,, I opened a dispute with my bank. This is insanity.
I purchased a set of senior mens golf clubs from Dick's Sporting Goods. I could not get solid hits on the ball and did not like the quality of the clubs. The return policy at Dick's is a scam, and customer service is a joke. They manufacture the clubs, and will not accept a return.Bought clubs July 22nd, and would not take return on Aug. 3rd. Two or three Scratches on driver from trying out the clubs. No returns on clubs if tried out outside of store (purchased online). Absolutely contrary to return policy.
I received $120 reward through their points system. I ordered a product that was $80. They asked if I wanted to use my $120 reward. Sure! What they do not tell you is that they keep the entire $120 reward. If I bought a soda and used the reward, it would have been $120 soda. What in the world. I called their customer service number and they said they would be glad to cancel the order but it would take another month to get my reward back. What type of program is that? Entirely unethical and should be illegal!

A false advertisement claim. Dick's Sporting Goods are listing shoes for low prices and when you go to buy them they will be available but then all of a sudden it says no options available. I talked to customer service they first claimed they were all sold out I said no you aren't. It clearly shows they are available till you click the size... Not just one specific size any of the sizes. Then they said well it is available but not within 100 miles of me... I said well tell me where the shoes are available and they couldn't tell me so I started typing in random zip codes in other states, same thing no option available... I purchased a 10x20 canopy tent from Dicks sporting goods when I was asked was I interested in purchasing a protection plan. After being told that they offered a 1yr 5 time replacement plan I felt that was the best plan for me. I purchased another tent while there and after using it the button on two of the legs fell down into the leg of the tent. Warranty
Purchased several $400 bats from Dicks sporting goods. Was told if I buy the warranty it would cover damage and that I could walk in and get a new bat with no issues. Did it with the first bat but when I went into the store for the second bat they said they no longer warranty the items there and that I need to call the warranty company. Warranty company said they do not warranty because it is under manufactures warranty. Easton takes 3-4 weeks to warranty a bat and we need one right away to play this weekend. The entire reason in buying the bat from Dicks was the warranty but they changed the rules after they sold me the item and warranty.
Desired outcome: Want Dicks to give me a new bat like they said when I bought their warranty.

I ordered the ProForm Pro C22 Studio bike (Order number [protected]) that was on sale on 9/1. No problems with the delivery. It was delivered on 9/7. The issue is with the bike. It is defective. I set it up and the touchscreen does not work properly and has to be replaced. I contacted Dick's to let them know and their response is that I have to contact ProForm. I wanted to exchange it, but one I tested positive for COVID, so I cannot leave. Then I find out the resistance motor is not working and again I contacted Dick's only for them to tell me to contact ProForm again. The motor has to be replaced as well. It is supposed to be a brand new bike. I wanted to use the bike while I am stuck at home with COVID, and I cannot even do that. No one at Dick’s seems to care. You sell a product, and after that, you are in your own, with or without COVID.

I purchased a Mauricci baseball bat on April 11, 2023, and the protection plan due to the bat being 119.00. We attended a tournament game this past weekend and the bat cracked. Dick's associate helped me in store and put in an order for me on the kiosk. Delivery for the hoop was supposed to be on April 10th but never received it! Called the shipping company they said the store doesn't have it for them to pick it up so they can't help! Called the Dick's store in Salem NH where they put the order in for me and the guy said it's not his fault and can't help! Called the [protected] and they said they don't know what's going on and they can't help and no one even bothered to give me a refund or credit! This was a half court basketball project I was doing for someone it was a surprise for their son for this coming weekend and now they won't pay me! Very bad experience. It’s been a week of back and forth everyday replies with the Assurance No Sweat Protection Plan. I’ve submitted multiple pictures of my sunglasses I need replaced. I’ve submitted my receipt of purchase and proof of my No Sweat Protection Plan and now they’re telling me my product is not covered. When I purchased it I was told it covered ANYTHING happening to my sunglasses. This is a SCAM, beware and do not purchase it. Such frustrating experience with Dicks No Sweat Protection Plan.
