Go to $ general - new cashier (very nice) chatting during checkout. Manager (crystal) comes up watching and showing her what to do - but she had done all right so far. I ask for 2 packs marlboro special select short in gold box (this is how I always ask) the cashier turns around but "manager" is on it and drops them in my bag while cashier checks my license I see they're on sale so I say give me packs - I pay and grab bags to walk out and realized she had put red cigs in bag. I pulled them out and said I asked for gold. Manager then tells me we have to refund and redo. Okay. Then tells me I owe them money - red ss vs gold ss but ok then I look at what she's ringing up and it's $6.09 a pack. I said hold on. These are all supposed to be $5.26 a pack. You're already charging me $6.09 and now telling me I owe more. Can't do anything-I ask for another manager (just the point of it all). She states can't do anything about it. I said then take the sign down that says &5.26. I'm told they can't the cig people put that up and they can't change prices. So the original manager (crystal) says she asked for the red box. I'm like hold up. I know what I smoke I did not ask for red - you had gold in your hand when I was talking to you and you made a mistake and grabbed red! Cashier agreed with me and was very apologetic but neither manager was. They were both very rude and charged me.75 over clearly advertised price then charged me an additional.54 bc they said the gold was more than the red! I paid and left furious only bc there was a line but that is false advertising and the managers not upholding it and being so rude was just the final straw! I'll go to an entirely different town before either of them wait on me again and if the sign isn't taken down there's going to be more issues - they did not give me a copy of the other receipt where they swapped the cigs and charged me more.
Desired outcome: Refund and reprimand of managers.
