This is a complaint against the manager at one of your General Dollar stores. I would like to raise awareness of the unacceptable customer service treatment I received. It first started when I visited General Dollar on Saturday, 12/02/2023 in the afternoon. I asked the young lady at the cash register for the rental price of the DOCTOR RUG carpet cleaner. She looked at a red binder for the price, and stated she didn’t see a price. I noticed in the binder a barcode underneath the pictures of the carpet cleaner. I suggested she scan the barcode to possibly obtain a price. She stated she would have to charge me if she did that. I said I would pay to know the price and pay for the rental of the equipment. She then stated she would scan the barcode charge me but still would not provide me with a price. I chucked and said that was ludicrous at which time she became extremely angry and stated she was no longer going to service me and therefore, I had to leave her store. I asked her if I could speak to the manager, and she said she was the manager. I asked for her name, and she refused to provide me with that information and then walked away. I waited to speak to another employee to get the store address and the store number. She then went on to say in a rude voice I had a problem, and she was calling the police. At no time did I raise my voice, became hostile or threatening. Within minutes the police, through a loudspeaker in the store informed me to leave the premises or I would be arrested for trespassing. As a senior citizen who has never encountered such a display I was embarrassed and humiliated while other customers looked on. Based on the occurrence stated above I kindly ask this be investigated. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
EVELYN ORELLANA
