Refused to put money on card 5 different times in total, would not open a register to take cash all 5 times. We are sick & needed to put money on card for medicine, food, ect. We shop in this store every single day as it is easier to get to when you have no vehicle & walk everywhere. Never has anybody treated us this way except for the newest of manager...

On 1/7/2023 this morning my wife was in the store doing her Smart Couponing (which you have a spot for on your site). The manager came up to the register and was very rude to her, refusing to accept her coupons. This isn't the first time with this manager. She has been rude with other friends. I'm sorry but, we can tell friends and all start shopping elsewhere but, do enjoy your stores
Exchange of defective product
I purchased a seasonal item that was defective. I went to the store to just exchange it for another since there were still many on the shelf. I didn't want money back. The clerk would not let me get another that worked. Said it was seasonal product. He would not let me exchange it. I am talking about a $1.25 item. what has happened to customer service. I have shopped that store always. To think they would rather risk losing a customer for a $1.25 item is incredible. Is this the kind of service you want from your employees. This may seem petty but now its the principle. Poor service to an old 73 yr old woman who bought a toy for her grandchild. Thanks, Sandra Dee
Desired outcome: All I wanted was to get one that worked but now they've lost a loyal customer for $1.25
Products advertise one price but different when you check out
I went to the Family Dollar #03498 at 10903 Scarsdale Blvd Houston Tx. 77089
to purchase some items. I went down the candy aisle and pick-up three Mars Snickers Fun Size 3.4oz for $1.00 a piece. When the cashier ring me up and I have already paid I notice that I was charge $1.25 a piece for the candy. I explain to her that the sign said $1.00 she said that she cannot give back the difference because her manger is on lunch, and I do not have her code to refund, and I will have to come back. I came back to the store to buy some more items and to get my difference of the money from my previous visit. The cashers explain to the manager about the price different and we owe him the difference money back, the manger spoke to the casher in Spanish and walk away. The casher said the manager said the price is $1.25. So, I walk down the candy aisle to double check and notice the manager crossing out the $1.00 price with a black marker. I ask her when I purchase this the price was $1.00. she said NO $1.25 and walk away, I ask her what is this store location number, she said it's on your receipt as she walks away.
Desired outcome: I know the amount owe to me might be trivial but it's just the principle how dishonest the manger actions and behave like she doesn't care. Thank you for your time and I'm done with Family Dollar. Earnest Jackson, [protected]@ymail.com
Being called a thief
On January 1, 2023 I went to the Family dollar on 13975 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Woodbridge, VA 22191 store # 08739. I purchased a NFL Phil Eagles logo bed pillow and a bag of chips. On January 2, 2023 I go to send the pillow off as a gift and realize the sensor is still on the pillow. I take it back to the family dollar around 10 am in the morning. I explain...

The Family Dollar on the 68 in Golden Valley Arizona the employees that run the place two of them are rude as hell... the one girl insulted my intelligence when I was trying to ask a question because there was no chart for a pair of leggings I was purchasing needles to say my question wasn't answered I now have a pair of leggings she torn taking the security tab off and are to big for nor can I return them... I have been in customer service all my life... it is very unprofessional to hear your employees bad mouthimg the company... I am on disability and cannot afford to lose $12 or a $1... if you checked the Facebook groups here you would see I am not the only person who has complained about about how nasty rude they are... I would send a secret shopper or something... there are only 2 dollar stores here... I will not return the store after the girl threatened me as I was walking out I told her she was rude... her name was Leah she wanted to fight me she said you got something to say say to her face...
Desired outcome: Give them girls a attitude adjustment I don't no really what outcome...just think you should be aware at how rude they are in there how they yell at your customers...
Overstock!! See pics, I work here and enjoy it other than the weekly over loads of un needed items
I have worked for family dollar 11033 since aug.2022 ans we do now have a manager in training but the store gets 1,000's of pieces of over stocked items while we continue to have empty shelves and items needed. Please see pics, this is of stock room that has a list of violations as u will see. More than store has space for!
Customer complaints, out of product, ubolts of merchandise not letting them move about to shop.
We really need to get rid of and cut down over stock of things that are still in back room for weeks to months?
Desired outcome: We could resolve issues if we could order what is needed as needed.and be able to make the store a clean and nice place to shop.
Employee staff and management at family dollar.
On December 30, 2022, I decided to visit store #10443 for a few quick items before work. My first stop was to end cap with toothpaste. Just as I was searching for my choice, this very tall vendor decides to walk very swiftly towards me with no slowing down. When he got within a couple of inches of me, I feared for my safety and jumped out of the way as fast as possible. I yelled "hey" to him to get his attention of what he almost did to me. Instead of him apologizing to me, he became defensive. Those actions offended me greatly so I did call his actions stupid. I then continued my shopping and found an item marked for 1.75. I also found cleaner, and some food items. When I got to the counter to pay, I noticed the cashier was placed my food items in with the chemicals. This is after I asked her on a previous visit not to play small food items with my chemicals. On this previous visit she became very smart alec with me and told me that she will not place my good items with the chemicals. This time she did it anyway.. I then separated them. As I was walking to the door, the manager came behind me with a Lysol spray and sprayed behind me as I was leaving the store. When I got home I checked my receipt and saw that I was charged $3 for the $1.75 item. I went back to the store to return the item. I explained to that manager that that item was marked for $1.75 she told me that she was not there when the item was placed on the shelf I explained to her neither was I I was I supposed to know the right price. She then had several choice words to say to me I was treated extremely disrespectful and I was also very offended and hurt! She told me not to return to the store and she will tell the rest of the staff not to let me shop there. She did issue me my refund and had me sign a paper for the refund. Inadvertently as I was walking out of the store I had to pin in my hand. The other cashier had a long line so I tossed the pen with the intentions of it landing on a counter but instead it landed on the floor. That cashier stopped what she was doing and helping other customers and picked up the pen and threw the pen directly at me as I was leaving the store.
Desired outcome: Retraining for employee staff on how to respect customers that serve their business.
Bacon
There is bacon on the shelf that is discolored, (yellow black brown) moldy, festered with millions of bacteria. It has been on the shelf for a whole month. I am tempted to buy it, eat it, document the whole thing, get sick and sue them since they claim it is "still for sale" Because I have literally taken it out of the fridge, showed it to the cashier's, and asked is this still for sale? And they said yes. I have told the people who work there about it repeatedly. And they refuse to take it off the shelf. Family dollar Youngstown Ohio 44511 in the cornersburg plaza. I have taken photographic evidence, and if it is still for sale on the shelf in a week I Guarantee you I will buy it, eat it, get deathly sick and get money one way or another if you guys don't go do something about it. I am absolutely tired of telling people about this and nothing being done about it.
Desired outcome: Make sure they never do it again. Incompetent or greed and blatant disregard for the safety of the community if an old couple buys that and gets sick and dies I won't forget that I not only told them, but told you too.
Gossip behind my back
There's an associate I knew from years ago. Back then he was judging me by a rumor someone else had told him, and I told him myself that it wasn't true.
Now that he works in a Family Dollar in Mount Vernon, I can't walk outside of my own house without anyone saying derogatory terms whether they're driving past me, or I'm walking past somebody's house or workplace, or wherever. The current manager has been looking at me weird in the past month. I think he's Nigerian.
Matter of fact, one associate uttered the same derogatory terms a few different times when I walked past her.
Desired outcome: Fire the associate, and/or understand that the rumor is not true.
Rude employee at Bedford, OH store
On 12/26/22, at 1:35PM, at the Bedford, OH store (650 Northfield Rd., Bedford, OH) I visited the store and waited in line. The line was not moving so I put my items down and left. As I left, the cashier (the only one waiting on people) said:
"Have a good day, or HAVE A BAD DAY" - totally unacceptable on every level.
Please install self-checkouts so I don't have to deal with your RUDE workers.
Some people should not work in customer service jobs and she is one of them.
I wrote an email to them, and have received no reply. The store is filthy, and I have seen items out of date on many occasions, yet the workers, instead of doing their jobs seem to have time to shout out rude comments to customers.
Desired outcome: Reprimand this employee (young African American woman), her manager was standing there and said nothing (also a woman). If it were me, I would fire her.
Management
12/27/22 I went to family dollar first thing this morning and as soon as I entered the store, I noticed the floors were filthy and littered with trash. I went to the milk cooler, and it was completely empty ok no big deal! However, I noticed the cooler was disgusting and its obvious has been for a long while. I go to pay for my items and the manager is working behind register. He is rude and cocky; this is not the first time I've had issue with him. he raises his voice at customers which is unacceptable behavior from any employee but a manager? that man needs to go. Maybe you should make a visit to this store. Its unorganized, filthy and poorly run. you have lost good employees because of the bad ones. I've managed a store before, and this is unacceptable period!
Desired outcome: New manager brings new employees. Properly trained employees mean clean and organized store and etc. you get where I'm going
Service
I have 2 Family Dollars where I live and let me tell you the managers are rude unprofesssional and take their personal problems to their jobs at one of the stores the manger is on drugs so she only hires drug dealers that supports her habit. She kicked me out because she is friends with my husbands baby mama, and then went around spreading the word that I was caught stealing which is an absolute lie. I have seen her sit in her car in the parking lot doing drugs making drug deals she says, "this is my store". Then at the other family dollar they always have everything stocked in the wrong spots and they don't care I went in there the other day and this native lady was in the aisle I was in and they had some locks hung on the wrong place so she said to me this is a good deal I said that is a good deal so when we went up front to pay the assistant manager who is very rude to me because I am friends with her girlfriend said no that is not the price went to the back of the store and we could hear her moving all of the items from where they were found and she came back and said no those were not in that place I went and looked and she sure had moved them all and was calling me and the other customer liars. Then the next time I went in the manager who is also horrible told me if I did not leave, he was going to call the cops on me because I harassed his worker. It is ridiculous all because of these employees' personal issues I cannot shop there, something is wrong with this picture.
Desired outcome: I want someone to investigate these stores and what I am telling them and how they are doing illegal acts and kicking people out just because they don't like them. I live in a small town, so everybody knows everybody
Disrespectful store managers
On 12/19 the manager in the store #10118 sent my son who is a teenage worker a inappropriate message with cursing and threatening him which I have proof of. Once my son went to work the manager and her husband who is also a manager began to curse at him about being fired and telling him to get the f* out the store. The altercation escalated with more cursing and police being called as well. This altercation took place inside the store in front of customers. The manager falsely accused, harassment, discrimination, and embarrassed my son in the store that day for no reason. The whole time I was on the phone with my child and heard how these 2 managers was cursing my child out about being fired, giving them the store keys, and getting the f* out the store. The language that was being used from these managers was very inappropriate and need to be trained on de-escalating situations with workers and customers or fired. Something needs to be done about the situation with these 2 managers which is a husband and wife. The police was called and I received a trespassing for the store, but nothing would have happen if the language they chose to use speaking to my child was done in a respectable manner. These managers done all this in front of customers that was inside the store. The manager himself smoke weed and also have sex with females in the restroom of the store. He also allow the workers to have sex there as well. They bring they daughter to work with them and she have sex with workers too. This is just an outrage for managers!
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and apology as well as something being done about those managers. Store #10118 (husband and wife)
OP from the research i have found. officially corporate requests a minimum of 18 years old for cashier, though depending on store and state it maybe lower. some stores have hired for other areas part time low as 16. was your son a full time cashier?
again this is all from searching "how old do you have to be to work for family dollar". i hope this helps you out.
I would like to complain about Misty
Misty is my mamma get at the family dollar located on hwy 62 in pine Louisiana. She is a very rude lady and acts stuck up to all of her employees. For instance, she saw me one day at the store and was the cashier to check me out and neglected to tell me she made changes to that week’s schedule so I missed a day of work because she didn’t let me know she made any changes. She also has this group text that she has neglected to add me in so that way I can be aware of new changes to the schedules and more. She is very very rude and always acts like there is a stick up her [censored].
Desired outcome: I would love to see some action taken to see her removed from this job or this location permanently.
Service was absolutely rude!
I and my husband went to the family dollar located on 6690 Highway 85 Riverdale Georgia. Nobody was at the registers other then another customer also waiting. When we approached the registers I noticed a bell. I rang that bell a worker (The manager on duty) arrived. Due to a very recent car accident (Saturday 12/17/22) and the fact that I nearly fell into...

The store in Aylett 4758 has to heat. It's been about 2 months. All the employees have been sick. Nobody seams to care. We have to wear coats and gloves. It is not fun to wear gloves and try to run the register. Gone through 2 levels trying to get help. With no heat doors will be locked. Customers come in and walk out because they said they are not going to shop in the cold.
Read full review of Family DollarRude employees and store hours!
Good evening! My name is mr. Charles welch! 2 weeks ago the family dollar #8476 starting opening at 3:00 in the afternoon. Normally the store should been opened at 7:00 am until 10:00 pm! I had to go another to shop. Then the employees along with the assistant manager were rude and disrespectful. Somebody from corporate needs to come down and have a talk with employees as well as the assistant manager or whosever's in charge! And let them know that this kind of conduct cannot continue.
Desired outcome: An Apology For One! Sensitivity Training And Policy Changes. I Understand That Everyone Has A Bad Day Once In A While! But Employees Having Shouting Matches With Each Other. And Assistant Manager Doing The Same Cannot Be Good For Business!
Cheating people out a money
Cheating me out a dollar they always a something to my receipt that I didn’t purchase ok like today I was in there and I purchased 2 Lipton fruit punch juices 4pks koolaid unsweetened Swedish fish and 3 (2 )pks Christmas bags and that’s all bout them as I’m looking at my receipt it says houseware I a sure you that I didn’t buy anything in houseware
Desired outcome: Just stop adding things that aren’t being purchased
