pricing and getting a refund / treatment in store
I went in to store number 01568 this morning to purchase., food and other supplies. I bought 8 cans of Campbell soup shelf price 2 for 3.00, it rung up at 2.10, After getting and seeing what happen. I returned to the store to have the price changed and a refund. I was told to get in line. When i made it to the cashier the security guard told me to get out line and wait. No one wanted to help me, after about a 10-minute wait a manger came she didn't come back; She said she informed someone who didn't inform the cashier. once she was informed. I was sent to the back of the line. Upon coming back to the cashier she told me she was busy and to wait on the side. The security guard was standing in front of me with his hand on his pistol. i took what they gave me and just left the store.
Desired outcome: i would appreciate a respond and better customer service. Plus, and apologize for customer service.,
coupon offer displayed but not received
I went into the Fiesta Plaza store on Armenia Avenue Tampa Florida around 11 am on October 24th to purchase ..amongst other items ..2 packs of Angel Soft toilet tissue for $9.40..which meant a saving of $2.50 ..This was displayed on the App and on the shelf in store ..I had the coupon in my App wallet and had scanned the item which confirmed it was on offer. At check out ..it didnt take the $2.50 off the total ..so I queried it and was told by the assistant that she could not take it off manually so that I would have to pay full price for the item and that sometimes the coupons worked and other times they didnt and if I came back later and tried again ..it may work. I was shocked and surprised and as im 73 years old and have to rely on someone being kind enough to take me to the store I had no way and no inclination of retuning to the store at a later time in hopes of the coupon being accepted ..I left all my shopping and walked out in disgust. This is not the first time I have had this problem. I had a similar problem at the store in West Columbus Drive a few weeks ago concerning boxes of cereal ..The staff there were very rude and there was extremely loud Rap music blasting in the store which made the communication very difficult ..Im afraid from now on Family Dollar have lost a long standing customer ..
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and to be credited the coupon value so that I could purchase the item at the advertised price
Refusal of service
This store refused service because I had my service animal. I walked in approx 2:15pm 10/22/2022. The clerk was first at the register and told me I cannot have “My Dog” in the store. Mind you, my service animal was contained in a stroller. I turned to the clerk and said, “She is a service animal” I continued to go to the card section. The clerk came from behind the counter and I told her to back off. She yelled, Well what is your disability. I explained that by law I do not have to answer that. She then said, “Well I won’t check you out! I told her she will hear from my attorney!
Desired outcome: Refused service calling my lawyer
Mind you my service animal has been servicing me for 6 years and I have NEVER felt so attacked!
Cashier/Manager
I was at the Family Dollar in Hazelwood Mo. with my grandson. We was trying to make a purchase and 4 of the items did not ring up correct.I brought to the cashier and he said nope that's the price, I replied that's not what the shelf price was showing he said yes it is. So I asked to speak to the manager and he just stood there, I asked again and he just stood there. My grandson said what are we waiting on, I said a manager. Then the cashier rolled his eyes and gave a smurk and I said your saying your a manager, he says YEP! I told him he needs to adjust the price he says nope that's the price. He was very rude! So I was PISSED! I push the items that didn't ring up correct off the counter and said I'll just take the other items. He's says nope he's refusing service to me. I'm sure he was discriminating against me beings I was the only white person in the store. The store is a filthy mess! The only reason I was in the Hazelwood store is because I'm visiting my daughter and need a few things. You don't have to take my word, plan a pop in visit and you will see for yourself. I've worked in retail for over 40 years and would have never treated one of my customers so rudely. I'm sure nothing will come out of this, but maybe someone needs to check things out before your business goes under. Because you know the old saying word of mouth goes along way.

I am a 67 year old lady I went to Family Dollar in Belzoni MS. Store # 01104. After selecting my few item I went to the cashier to pay. Then I notice as i was about to leave the store the prices on the receipt was different from what was on the shelves. I left my basket at the front of the store and match my receipt with each item. I ask to see a manager to see what was the problem. The manager were not in so I spoke with a cashier and she stated the girl that waited on me was assistant manager. But I continued to talk to the cashier because her attitude was more pleasant than the assistant, she did not greet me nor thank me for coming. She (the other cashier) explain to me that they are going through price changing, and whenever the get the memo they make the changes. I understand that. She stated there was a notice outside the store saying they are going the changes. I looked as I was leaving the store, there was no notice to that effect. I think they need to let the customers know about theses changes. It's embarrassing to get to the checkout and do not have enough money to pay for your purchases. Your website, wifi, and coupons
I have been a regular cutomer of family dollar since I moved here in 1994. In the last 3 months I have been unble to redeem any coupons on your website because the stores do not have wifi. Does that make sense to you? It dosen't to me. Why have coupons on your website that can't be redeemed because there is not wifi to connect to. I have been to 3 family dollar stores and this occured.

Rude and disrespectful employee
on [protected]:68:48 store #00397 was denied service because asked employee after purchasing phone card could she proceed the second transaction instead of playing with previous customer when six others were waiting in line and also used foul and disrespectful language during incident.was totally disrespected and refused to accept second transaction when trying to purchase food items had to go to the grocery store to buy the same items.
Desired outcome: reprimand or get rid of disrespectful employees.

I work at the family dollar store #[protected] A.L. Philpott Hwy Axton Va 24054.. My store Manager Lorie A. Hornick is being rude to certain employees in front of customers. She is discriminating against certain employees in the store. She is being rude to the customers. I am going to file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC she leaving work early ans suppose to stay til 10:30.

I was in buying cascade you had sale 2 for 8. I asked why is it ringing up 525 he screamed just wait. I told him I'm just asking. I said cuz lately allot of prices are ringing up wrong. He screamed and said stop complaining or I'm done ringing you up. I said are you serious? He proceeded to rant about the stress of his job then ran in office. When I said omg ring me up so I can leave. He finally rang me up. I came back an hour later and asked for corperates number he called police. Found out manager and assistant live together. He's been answering her phone so your getting none of our communities complaints. Also called district manager3 times she hasn't called back once. Store really miss managed. Several people will not go there because of this man. Have names and numbers if needed. I spend a lot of money there. Haven't been back since 26th of September. I was at store [protected] spring hill dr the associate was bending my cards throwing them in the bag. I ask her to stop bending my cards she stated if you don't like the way I bag you can shop some where else. I ask for a manager her response i'm the dam boss here. I went into Family Dollar Store Number 12358 today. When I walked in I was on the phone with my husband. I immediately was approached with "CAN YOU NOT READ"? I let my husband go on the phone I said "Excuse me"? Maria (Which by the way is EXTREMELY rude) said it again.. I then told her I have no clue what she is talking about. She pointed to the VERY small sign on the door. She said leave your purse in the car or up front. I said no thank you. She said you will do that or we won't serve you. I said I am not leaving my Dooney and Bourke purse at the front of the store. Melissa which is the store manager stood there and allowed Maria to speak to a customer that way.
First of all, to ask a customer to do that is absurd.
Second of all, maybe approaching and be a little kinder to your customers that provide you a job.
Third of all, my company shops with your store nearly every day. To have the attitude that Maria did was completely uncalled for. We will now not shop at Family Dollar. We will go across the street to Dollar General where they treat their customers with respect.

everthing in store even the bags.
No matter what we get from this store in Wild Rose WI ,it smells very heavy of a tide pod smell. Very perfumey. The food that even is in bags has a taste of this smelly perfume soap smell.and the bags they use to bag at the register smells of this stench. We even tried some cream puffs in the wrapper and no-one would eat them we had to toss them out. THIS IS TOTALLY DISCUSTING .
Desired outcome: Either clean this store up or close it.
No over-the counter meds
I live in Lometa, Tx and since I'm on disability I rely on your store. There has been hardly any over-the counter meds for at least 6 months. I just dont understand, there is NO shortage of these products. The other closest place I can go is 20 miles away and since I dont drive it almost impossible to get there. I dont think short changing the rual store is hardly right. Please fix this problem.

I'm writing to you today October 05,2022 because the store #05804 is in a constant state of disarray and always out of stock and if they do have stock, they have so much you can't even maneuver down the aisle. I can never find what I'm looking for and if I do it is either busted or broken or it is located with the wrong price. The customer service is not very helpful and is rude at times. Like today I went to look for Boire charcoal cleansing wash which was not out of stock on the app but when I got to the store the shelves where bare, so I had to get Nuvel morning fresh facial cleans instead. I hate having to go to this store but being that it is the closest to my house I have no choice, due to the fact I have trouble getting around.
Desired outcome: I would like to see improvement on the stocking, either a gift card or coupons for the following items Boire Charcoal cleansing wash, Axe for men body wash, summers eve feminine wash, Angle soft.

Store#03058 us highway 90 grand bay, al. 09/29/2022 I went to this store today for a few items, I got one cotton bush flower,7 cans of dog food, dawn dish liquid, scrub pad, a door plaque for fall & a pin wheel deco. The manager rung up 2 cotton bush flowers,&2 reese pumpkin candy bars which wasn't something I wanted to purchase, this couldn't be a error because the cotton bush weren't rung up together& she had to have scanned the candy for some reason unknown to me, this wasn't a mistake, I checked my receipt when I got to my car to find the error & went back in the store right away to tell her, I had her go to my car to see for herself, she said she rung up the candy for the pin wheel which was a lie, because the pin wheel had a barcode & wasn;t the same price as the candy which was a$1.15 & the pin wheel was $1.00, she did this on purpose. I'am a senior citizen & don't need to pay for things I don't want! There was no appolgy, if I ever go back to that store again believe me I will watch everything scanned.

On the night of August 26, 2022, at approximately 7:45 PM Central time 9-26-2 I stepped into the Family Dollar retail store located at 811 N. 1st Street, in Durant Oklahoma, 74701. I was waiting on a take-out order to be filled at the Mexican food restaurant across the street, and I decided to pop into the Family Dollar for some Pepto Bismol. I went in there reluctantly, and I will explain why later. I saw some name brand Pepto for almost $6, and some off brand of basically the same stuff for $3. I got the cheaper one. When I approached to counter, there was a discussion between the lady paying for her things about another lady coming back to pay for something. As I placed the bottle of medicine on the counter the young lady clerk behind the counter was looking in a bag, as another lady came in and almost got in front of me. The clerk told me she would go ahead a check me out. The off brand pepto rang up almost $5. I told her the sales tag on the shelf said $3. The clerk responded that they had a lot of recent price changes. The woman behind me, was acting annoyed at me. I asked the clerk isn’t it universally customery to sell the product for the price on the shelf, since that’s what is posted? The clerk just stared at me with no response and a smirk on her face. Then the woman behind me said, with much hostility, “my god, what’s the difference, in the price, I’ll pay the damn difference”. I politely, and without saying a word, placed the medicine back on the counter, and exited the store. As I was outside, walking away from the store, the woman behind me, came out, following me, and said “you don’t have to be a [censored]ing [censored]”! I did not appreciate this. Because I had not acted like an “[censored]” at all, I said nothing rude to anyone, in fact I had said nothing at all. And when the lady behind me had rudely involved herself in my purchase, with the clerk not offering to sell the product at posted price, nor even call a manager, I simply left. How can you act like an “[censored]”, when you politely, quietly, and non-confrontationally leave? The woman who called me an [censored], went back into the store. I reentered, and told her she had no right to follow me out, calling me names, as not only had I said nothing to her, I had said nothing to anyone! While I was telling her this, the clerk started yelling and cursing at me, then from the back emerged a young male, who was also an employee, with dark brown hair, who was moving toward me, very aggressively. And by aggressively, I mean he was coming at me full force like a bouncer in a bar, about to throw a brawler in a bar out. He was yelling at me to leave the store. I found this quite odd, that it was okay with them that one of their customers verbally assaulted me, but when I responded assertively, then I am the one who ‘needs to leave”. Then the male store clerk told me to “leave his mom’s store”, reached out with force to physically grab me by the arm. I warned him, that if he put his hands on me, that I would lay him out. And I meant it. About this same time, an older woman claiming she was going to call the police, if I didn’t “leave HER store” approached getting almost in my face too. (They were all speaking like she owned the place). I told her to go ahead and call the police. Then the female clerk from behind the counter, who had continued to curse at me and call me names, screamed at me “not to talk to her mother like that, and get out of her mother’s store”. Then this same female clerk from behind the counter actually jumped up on the counter, acting as if she was strung out on drugs, or was an escapee from a insane asylum, started spitting on me, calling me all sorts of disgusting names. Then she jumped down to the other side from the counter at me, and came at me swinging both of her fists. I backed up, as the male store clerk grabbed her from behind, and literally dragged her away to the back of the store, as she kept trying to get at me to assault me. As the young male dragged the female clerk away, I could see that her pupils were dilated, and slobber was still around her mouth. It literally looked like she was foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. At this point, I got my cellphone out, and told the woman standing in front of me claiming to own the store, that I was now going to call the police, as that was attempted physical assault and she had even spat on me. This woman replied, “no don’t call the police”, and looked toward the back and announced, “nobody is going to call the police”. But she was the one who had threatened to call the police on me, and now she didn’t want anyone to call the police. At that moment, I figured it was better to just leave, get my dinner, and report this later to the proper people. I was approached at the restaurant across the street by a man, who told me he had captured the entire ordeal on video with his cellphone. He gave me his name and number. And since, he has emailed the footage to me….. My suggestion to the reader of this is, that they should obtain any and all in-store security camera footage, so you can see for yourselves how your employees (who claim to own that store) behaved. I have since looked at reviews of that same store on the internet. They are pretty bad. You may also want to check those reviews out for yourselves.
Now the reason I was reluctant to even go into this store on this night, was because about 2 years or more, ago, I went into that store and purchased some carpet foam cleaner. I had plans to go to a carwash close by and needed some quarters. I gave the clerk a dollar bill and asked for 4 quarters in change. She told me they were not allowed to do that. I responded by telling her that I had just made a purchase, and that I was a paying customer, not just someone who wandered in off the street. She replied that they had a new manager who told them they were not allowed to make change for anyone. I found this to be a very senseless, and unacceptable policy. And I decided that my new policy was to never shop there again, but yet I did. And look what happened.

Went in there this morning with my 5 year old daughter to get cash back and was told by the cashier that is was okay to do it then when opened her drawer she didn’t have it in there so she called the assistant manager up there and told her and the manager started going off it front of my daughter saying it’s to early for this [censored] yelling back and fourth...

Went to family dollar on 9/25/2020 between 12 and 1 PM as I have been doing for OVER two months. With my shopping bags, my cart (yes my own rolling cart since I live a few mins away and don't drive) and my 13-year-old son. for TWO MONTHS NO ONE ever said we needed to leave our "bags" at the front desk. So, for two months you had a "policy" to take MY PROPERTY away from me and keep it with your stuff. First off there is no way in hell I would let ANYONE I don't know hold on to my stuff. If there is a policy about illegal having someone else's property it needs to be posted on the front of the door. ONLY family dollar tells customers this after they been going there for months. AFTER they let 10 other people come in the store with their bags. When I tried to ask why suddenly they want my bag the lady cashing people out started getting all loud and yelling. Also yelling at my 13-year-old son. When I told her to stop talking to him, she got an attitude. He 13 and a minor and she has no legal right to speak to him. Two other associates decided it was their job to act like fools and get loud also. YOU CAN NOT TAKE MY POPERTY AWAY FROM ME. Some other lady who might have been a manager who knows, no one actual looks like they work there or wears a badge ask me what going on. So, I told her. Instead of explaining anything she just got loud also. They "kicked me out" because I refused to give up my property and because some lady behind the register decided it was better to get in a yelling match and start threatening me instead of taking care of her customers. She wanted to fight me. Your store is ALWAYS a mess. The associates are ALWAYS yelling at someone or swearing at each other. One male (maybe a manager) is always outside with a bunch of people loitering and smoking weed. The floors are a mess, the stockers are always playing loud random music though a speaker and they are just disrespectful when you walk through the door. The ASSOCIATE who started this has rung me out before and I have given her my shopping bags AFTER I finished shopping previously and NEVER said anything to me before.

I applied for the asm position at store number 06623. I was told I had a no rehire on my record I worked for dollar tree 15 years ago. Family dollar should of erased this record after 8 years. Ive been trying to contact someone to resolve this issue but I keep getting stone walled. I applied on 09/13/2022. Ive called the manager cant get ahold of the district manager cant reach human resources.

My wife was asked to exit the store by a very pugnacious associate whom identified herself as the manager (Nicole). When I arrived at the store to inquire why my wife was asked to leave she lied and stated that our service dog tried to bite an associate. Our docile dog barked when an associate turned the corner at a fast pace, the shih tzu alerted my wife per his training. I also asked why whe told my wife that our dog had on the wrong color collar, she answered which I have a recording of: " I made a mistake." The mistake was calling my wife a liar and threatening her with arrest if she did not leave with and I quote, "stupid dog. My wife left her cart of items and departed the store accordingly.
Desired outcome: Address my remonstrance according to the merits of my claim based upon a careful review.
Hiring email after background check
I recently did a background check and it went through confirmed. I have nothing illegal in my check. Never been arrested or in court and still waiting on my job offer email to confirm and get started and now I could lose job because its taking too long so im very upset. I sent in my background check on the 12th to brassring company which should have been wasy to review since ive never had legal and a couple days later I was suppossed to get another email with a formal job offer including hours and wage which I then had to approve but its now the 19th and still have not gotten 2nd email which may cost me getting the job at family dollar because I need that step to continue with the hiring process.
