tire warranty
I purchased a set of Destination A/T tires on 9/8/12. My truck had 152k miles at that time. I bought the extended "lifetime" balance/rotate warranty as well. Took my truck to the Firestone shop on 13802 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale AZ 85254 today 8/24/18 for a balance and rotation. My truck has 190k miles on it now. Was told there was nothing they could do since the "lifetime" warranty is no longer valid. Instead they tried to sell me a new set of tires. Really? Found out the "lifetime" warranty is only for 5 yeas. Really Firestone? Talk about misleading information. I've been a loyal customer for almost 20 years and I will no longer use your services. Terrible experience and the manager of the store offered to give me $8. What's that about? I paid $940 for these tires with the understanding I would be taken care of but that was all a bunch of garbage. Great job Firestone! I be sure to share my experiences with various social media sites so no one else gets caught up in your misleading "sales pitch".
unethical behaviour
On Friday, August 3rd I took my vehicle into Firestone Store #307228 (Hacks Cross/Centennial Dr.) for a scheduled 2:30pm appointment. I had previously brought my car in for a/c evacuate and recharge service in May 2018. I was told in May that the technician shot dye into the a/c system and to return when the air stopped blowing cool. So, this was the follow-up appointment. I was checked in by technician Adam. I advised him that I would wait on the vehicle. He stated that it should only take a couple of hours. I asked him would the service to complete by 5pm since there was a sign on the door informing customers the repair shop would close early for a meeting. Adam informed me that the meeting was cancelled and the repair shop was open normal business hours.
After about an hour, Adam came into the waiting area to inform me that I had a crack in the a/c hose assembly and it needed to be replaced. I asked him about the price and authorized the repair. Adam returned to the waiting area around 5:15 and told me that the technician was wrapping up and should have me ready to go in a few minutes. Adam then left for the day. At 6pm, the only other customer in the waiting area with me was advised that her vehicle was ready for pick-up. I went to the restroom. When I returned one of the technicians asked me what vehicle I was waiting for. I answered his question and he then told me that the a/c technician had already gone home for the day. I asked him was he kidding me. He responded that no one informed them that I was waiting. He also said there was an issue with the technician getting the hose to fit, so he just left everything until the next day. Adam was supposed to inform me of this issue before he went home. I told him that Adam informed me that my vehicle would be ready in a few more minutes, before he left. He did not mention any issues with the hose or advise me that the vehicle wouldn't be ready until the next day. I told him that was grave lapse in communication. Also, I informed him that that was my primary mode of transportation and that I didn't authorize an over night stay. He apologized and said that lack of communication is a huge issue there. I called a ride to pick me up. I asked him why my vehicle was parked outside the bay door and would it be moved inside. He informed me that the a/c technician left it that way. However, they would park another vehicle next to mine to safeguard against thief. He also told me that the store opened at 7am that next day.
On Saturday, I called the repair shop around 9am. I asked to speak with the store manager Tim Green. I explained the situation from the previous day and asked for an update on my vehicle. He said that he wasn't sure about the status. While on the phone, he reviewed the service notes and stated that 2 hoses had been ordered. I told him that one of the technicians from the previous night mentioned an issue with the a/c hose. Tim assured me that my vehicle would be ready for pick-up by noon. I received a call from Firestone around 11:50am stating the vehicle was ready. I located a ride and was dropped off at Firestone with my toddler around 1pm. I went inside and checked out. When we made it to the car, I crunk the car up so it could be cooling while I got my toddler settled. I noticed that the air wasn't blowing cool. I took my child back out the car and returned inside. I spoke with the technician that checked me out and advised him of the issue. He said I would have to wait and chat with Adam since he initially checked me in. I waited 10 minutes to speak with Adam. When we spoke, he asked if the air was working properly before I left the shop. I told him that I had just checked out and hadn't left the property. The other technician confirmed my statement. Adam then asked for my keys and said he would get someone right on it. After waiting 45 minutes, Adam came to the waiting area to inform me that the hose was fine. However, he was holding something in his hand. It was a broken a/c relay, with 3 holes in the casing. I inquired about it and he stated that they broke the relay trying to test it. He also said that the relay needed to be replaced. He said the relay got broken when they tried to remove it for testing. Adam then informed me that Firestone would be replacing the relay free of charge. He said that he'd called a local Nissan dealership. They had the relay in stock and Firestone was sending a technician to retrieve it. The a/c technician told me he'd be back soon. Around 3:30pm Adam returned to the waiting area. He stated "I'm kinda scared to come in here with this bad news. Basically, Nissan has the relays but they come in a set of 4 for $800. And we just need one, so Firestone won't pay for it. So, my a/c technician created you a junction box to get the compressor to work. Now you have cold air. If you get too cold, just adjust the temperature setting because the compressor might blow up." I responded "What do you mean it might blow up?" He said "No. I didn't mean actually blow up. It just might stop working." I told him "Hold up. So, you're not standing behind your shops work? How is it that your technician just fixed my car, so you say, but you're in here talking about the compressor might blow up? You're very unprofessional. My car has been here for over 24 hours and here you are telling me that you're not confident in your technicians work. I am very disappointed with Firestone." I then asked for my keys. Adam apologized for creating confusion and said the technician was about to pull my car up. About 5 minutes later he called me up to the counter to checkout. He stated that I needed to sign for my keys to be returned. I signed the keypad and he handed me the keys and a printout. On the printout, Adam typed a bogus statement about Firestone jumping the relay to turn on the compressor. And stated I was aware of this. That is false! I was not aware of what the a/c technician actually did to fix the issue.
A few days later, my car wouldn't start. I called my dad. He came and tested the battery and said it was dead. I told him the battery was only 9 months old. We went to Auto Zone to get a new battery. They tested the battery and said it was no good. He installed the new battery, however the car wouldn't start. The fuse on the positive cable and overheated and burnt out. Also, the fuse for the radio and the windshield wipers had burnt out. I replaced those. We also noticed the rigged up relay that Firestone installed. The had taken the broken a/c relay and wrapped it in copper wire. This was placed in the a/c relay slot on the circuit board.
Two days after that, on Wednesday, August 15th, when I started the vehicle, I wasn't able to move the gear out of park. I Googled "how to manually release the gear shift". I drove to Steele-Guiltner on Hacks Cross so they could kick the car out. A few hours later, they returned with a diagnosis. The make shift relay that Firestone created/installed and overloaded that circuit. Steele-Guiltner replaced the a/c relay with a new one and it burnt out. The Asst. Manager and Manager both told me that Nissan would have to reset the computer system in the car to get everything back on track. And the dealership needs to fix the a/c relay. There was nothing else they could do. They both apologized for the poor work I received from Firestone.
I filed a formal complaint with the Headquarters in Nashville, TN on Wednesday @ noon. I have not been contacted by the District Manager yet. The heat index has been over 100 all week and I don't have any air in my vehicle. My toddler has severe bronchitis and allergies. I'm now forced to rent a vehicle. Which is another added expense.
I want Firestone to correct the actions of their employees. My vehicle needs to be repaired by the dealership. Also, the technicians at Firestone need training on communicating with customers and practicing good work ethics. The manager should have made sure that his technicians did legit work. My vehicle did not have these issues when it came to Firestone on August 3rd. That bootleg repair has caused major damage to other components of my vehicle.
I feel that I was taken advantage of because I'm a female. For some reason, shady repair technicians will attempt to belittle the intelligence of their female customers.
installed the wrong set of tires
Hi my name is Liliana Osorto. I came to one your stores located at 1845 e Rosemeade parkway carrollton tx 75007. I brought my Audi so they can check one of the tires since it has a nail on it, so I decided to drop it off. My husband talked to Richard over the phone and told him we wanted to get 2 tires instead of 1 since it was advised the tire with the nail Is not repairable. My husband was clear and said he wanted the same brand we had which is ToYo. Richard advised they were discontinued but could find 2 of those at another location. Later yesterday we came to pick up the car and spoke to Jeremy Kaplan the store manager and ask him if we could get the good old tire, but he went to look and said they picked them up. After we paid, we went to look at the car tires and we noticed they have put the wrong set of tires firestone brand that we were clear we did not want. We went back inside and let Jeremy know and he was very rude, said that Richard was not here to validate the what we were saying, making us feel as lyers and said he went to the emergency room. We understand and sympathize to the fact he he was not feeling good, but that's why we were trying to ask him the manager to help us instead of giving us an attitude.
He finally said he will see what he can do for us and got the tires we wanted as we have requested since the beginning. He then try to make a smart comment making us feel even worst to not to put 240, 000 miles, to which I said we live in this area and we would not drive much.
We did not appreciate the way he was talking to us and making us feel as lyers. We also did not appreciated you keeping the other good tire. We went to your store because of the great reputation you guys built trough the years by the people who give you business and by the people who work for you as your founder said "Our company is built on people - those who work for us, and those we do business with."
Today I went to take the car back to get the tires I originally wanted and Michael was very nice, I don't understand how you guys give the manager position to a person who does not have customer service skills neither management skills.
We definitely are not coming back to this location neither my family.
unethical behavior
I am Glenda Thompson/ 7413 Arbor Hill Dr./ Fort Worth, TX / 817.907.5934. My 2008 Volvo S40 stopped and was towed to the Firestone located at 1001 Bridgewood, Fort Worth, TX. It was diagnosed as needing a fuel pump and catalytic converter at a cost of $2800. I had to wait to save the money for the repairs but eventually gave approval to perform the work the week of 3/19/18. On 3/27/18 I inquired about the status and was told they had trouble locating the part but expected it in the next day and that the job would be completed by 3/28.
3/30 - I received phone message from Perry to contact about the status of my car.
3/31 - Was told that car was on a test drive an shut down. Raw fuel was spewing out and they needed to check out the cause.
4/2 - Called on the status and was told by Don that something transpired with the engine. Coolant had gotten into the engine block and that everything was on hold.
Perry would work on the next course o action.
5/2 - After weeks of no contact, I was asked to come to the shop to discuss and was told that I would need a new engine. There was never a clear reason as to why I suddenly needed a new engine and Perry suggested that the car be scrapped.
Clearly this was not an expected outcome. I am a widow and this was my main car.
The car was in the care of the Firestone and the engine was never the issue yet I am left several months later without the use of my car. It is still parked at the Firestone and I am at a point that I need Firestone to take responsibility for the damage and make things right. I have not sought legal counsel but at this time would like to have the car towed to the Volvo dealership for assessment. I can be reached by phone or email at [protected]@gesturesmarketing.com
honda crv service serpentine belt
I Left CRV for Entire day to replace Serpentine Belt. After I came to pick it up (I was told it was done) and waited and then left (because it wasn't) they called and told me they couldn't get the right belt. They put the old one back on. I have no idea now if they might have damaged it or not in the process. So I will have to get it replaced as soon as possible. ( By another Service Center or Dealership) Firestone lost another supposedly valued customer.
road hazard warranty
I recently contacted your new store in Payson, Az where I have been doing business for several years. I purchased a set of Michelin tires for my F250 Super Duty Diesel pick up and with those tires, purchased a road hazard warranty. I returned to that store with a damaged tire and the Manager looked at it and said it was not repairable. He said the only option was to replace it. I explained that I had gotten the tires at his facility and had a road hazard warranty on them. He stated the business had been purchased last year by Firestone and Firestone would not honor the road hazard on those tires. In fact he stated Firestone was in direct competition with Michelin and honoring the warranty was not possible. I asked what were my options? He said since the damage to the tire didn't involve materials or workmanship, my only option was to purchase another tire. What's interesting is this facility still does tire work, with the same employees, in the same place, for the same people. The only difference is a name change which I didn't notice when I drove up. The person I dealt with is the same person I bought the tires from originally. What recourse do I have. I still have 4 more tires with worthless certificates. And those tires were recommended by the manager and didn't come cheap. Help, Please.
I am complaining about the customer service.
I got my water pump changed on July 9, 2018 at the Century 111 store on 520 Clairton Blvd./ Pittsburgh, Pa [protected]. Store # 029467. Service Advisor 01 Josh. [protected]. Invoice # 163997.
I had my car towed to Firestone Monday morning, July 9th, because the water pump broke. I called Firestone to let them know it was getting towed to their store. I was going to go to the store with the Tow Truck Driver but when I was on the phone with JOSH, he told me there was NO NEED for me to go.
I only have the 1 car so I thought he told me this because someone would be able to pick me up after my car was finished, so I did not go. When he called to tell me my car was done, I told him I only had the 1 car and needed someone to pick me up to get my car. He was VERY RUDE and just kept repeating that they did not do that there. I told him I would have accompanied my car with the tow truck driver BUT HE TOLD me that I DIDN'T NEED TO. I have a child and my mother is older in her 80's and I had NO WAY to get my car. Josh did not care. He just kept repeating, I'm sorry, mam. Josh was the one who told me I did NOT need to come down with my car, so Josh should have offered me a courtesy ride. He would NOT and did not. After I kept repeating my situation and that I had NO ONE to give me a ride to get my car, he finally said he would have someone pick me up Wednesday. Well, It was Monday, in the 90's, and my MOM and child needed to have a car at the house. Josh was VERY UNCARING, unsympathetic, and pretty rude. He told me there was only 2 people working at their store - - 1 Tech and the person at the front desk. He told me it was the same for Tuesday also, only 2 people working! I couldn't believe such a big Firestone store would only have 2 people working!
Anyway, I had to hitch hike to pick up my car. When I got there I was shocked to see 4 or more Mechanics in the garage and when I walked in 1 Mechanic was watching TV in the Lobby! 2 More people were at the counter - Josh, himself, and someone else on the phone. I said to Josh, well, it looks like you have more than 2 people working. And he said, those are all mechanics. I couldn't have any of them pick you up to get your car! Jeese ... Thanks JOSH !~ No Customer Service Here!
This was my first experience with Firestone. I was really disappointed in the Customer Service.
I would consider trying your company again if I was given some kind of a partial refund as a courtesy. I spent $544.93 on the Water Pump and Thermostat. I am satisfied with the work done, but the uncaring nature on the staff was very disappointing and a great turn off.

engine check
I took my Van to Firestone in Independence Mo to have a Radiator Checked for a possible leak and then it was Replaced as I drove off the Engine was running rough so I took it back and they did a check on it I was told that if repair was needed I would get credit for the Diagnostic Check They did not to anything about the Engine they told me it was an exhaust block so I took it to a muffler shop and had a new catalytic converter put on and took it back for the engine misfire and was told I would not get credit for the first Diagnostic check but they would not charge me for the second one I argued this for some time and did not get any results so they checked it and said it needed spark plugs and then it needed coil packs and then they could not get a spark plug out and then they got it out and said they could not put one back in I had to get a tow to another shop to have this done and then I took it back after firestone changed 7 plugs and 5 coil packs and it was still running rough and they said they would change the other two coil packs at no charge and then they came back and said the spark plug I had to have done at another shop was ok but the cylinder was bad and the # 6 coil pack was bad but they did not change the coil pack as promised it only took then 5 minuted to check this which when I watched they could not have done this in the little time it took they charged me over 800 dollars of what I should have paid and still did not get my Van running good as I wanted when I took it in... not to mention the 450.00 for the exhaust 125.00 dollars for the tow the 250 dollars for the other shop that I took it too and about 2000.00 dollars at firestone ... they told me to have the engine replaced or rebuilt and save the new parts...
I want the charge for the original cost to replace the spark plugs and coil packs minus the parts credited back to my account and the Credit for the first diagnostic check refunded .. I am only satisfied with the radiator replacement which is working ...the rest was a wast of my time and money which in my opinion and the other shop and the tow truck driver and my family and over 300 friends and my attorney and my tax attorney which all of them said never take it to firestone unless you need tires and they should of said the engine needed to be rebuilt in the first place instead of nickel and dimming me to max out my firestone credit card you see my point and if I can't get any help from Firestone about this then I will have to get the help I need legally ... poor customer service, arrogant service manager
I brought my company van (fleet vehicle) in for 10, 000 service...first oil change.
Dropped it off at 7:30 am, service manager said "your looking at 2 hours", so I left it rather than wait. Service Mgr said he will call when it's done. I have had trouble with this shop before...with my previous company car it took them 9 hours to replace a tire, they claimed it was because they were waiting for the fleet leasing company to approve the tire damage. At that time (over a year ago) I complained to the service manager for not letting me know the status as the day progressed and vowed I would never go back there. But it's the only shop close to where I live that is approved for fleet service on my vehicles. So this time, I figured I would give them another chance for the oil change...how long could it take right? Well after 6 hours I called to find out what was going on. The guy told me it was done and that the service manager had called and left a message. I had my phone on me all day, there was no message left. When I went to pick the van up (2:30 pm) there were no customers around and only one of the 6 or 7 bays had a car in there. I asked how long it had been finished. Service manager said "a few minutes". Drop-off time 7:36, pick up time 2:28. For an oil change. Manager is unfriendly, arrogant and not inclined for customer satisfaction at all. Same guy as last time. His attitude has not improved at all. Previous service manager was excellent, I had taken my van there for service from 2012 to 2017 and was always happy with their service. Since the new service manager started, I am now 2 for 2 dissatisfied.
tire rotation
On May 19th I brought my 2008 Ford Ranger in for a oil change, Tire rotation and State Inspection. The location was the Firestone Store# [protected] Green Oaks Blvd.
A week before I had ran over a tube of caulk in my garage and it got all over the tire.
I cleaned it off but it was all in the treads of the tire and I fiqured it would wear off eventually. Anyway I got home and was going to check the air in the tires and I noticed that the left front tire had caulk in the treads so I knew that the tires had not been rotated. The right front tire had not been taken off either because it had caulk on the back side of the tire.

alignment service (lifetime warranty)
May 30, 2018 store#002844 I go to have 4 tires replaced, just 4 tires and they put you on the spot and make it sound like you need it when you really don't. I want a refund of my 179.99 for an Alignment service that I probably will never use. They have the same notes on this form that I do. That should not be able to put you on the spot for these extra charges. I thought NY had a law against this kind of thing.
oil change and other work not complete
They charged me for an 2 idler pulleys before that I later found out were never replaced. I spent $70 on an oil change yesterday to find our it was not changed. Not only was the oil not clean, the oil filter was still dirty and old which wasn't touched either. So i know it wasnt changed. They didnt do my tire rotation, and when I called they said it didn't look like it needed done. It did, but more importantly I paid for it to be done. So i had to go back, wait another 2 hours there to have them rotated. I know these guys pretty good now from the past few years and I'm starting to pick up on their sneaky and well trained bs talk they give you everytime. I took my truck to another mechanic who can tell you about the pulleys and also the oil not being changed. This is a few recent complanets on this store, i have others that date back also. Do you really train these guys at the front to rob cheat and steal peoples money? Because they talk a good game (sneaky) but I've put up with it long enough. I had the oil done yesterday below is pics of dirty oil and filter that was never touched and the belt and pulley that another mechanic replaced and told me to take to firestone. I'm sure they will have something to say when I now tell them about the oil not changed ether. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to talk to them again. You tell me what to do.
overheating vehicle.
I took my 2002 Mitsubishi Galant there because it was overheating. after I paid $1099 for a heater core, I got the car home and it overheated again and now wont crank. I called them and they want me to pay to get it towed back there so they can check it out. they said that somebody put sealant in the engine, so its my fault. Wish I knew before I paid!
service, oil change
On Tuesday, 2/20/2018 I had a 9:00 appointment to get a standard oil change. As always, I look for coupons prior to me bringing my car in. I found a coupon for $15 off a standard oil change and brought that with me.
When the oil change was complete, he came out and told me that I needed a serpentine belt (eventually), tires (eventually) and my battery needs replacing. He then charged me $25. for the oil change, I handed over my coupon and he said: "no, that is already included" my response was, "for a standard oil change"?
So apparently the standard oil change prices are now basically $40.00.
I paid the $25.00. I drove to another place, purchased a battery and had it installed there.
He never even suggested that they do it, probably because he wouldn't have known how much to charge for a battery
I would have gladly purchased my battery there, and had it installed as long as my car was there.
Never again will I spend any money at Firestone

My husband took my car into Firestone in Pearl, MS to have the air conditioner repaired. When he arrived the service manager advised him they could not honor a quote he had received prior to getting the job done, which was understandable. He was advised they would check the car (free) and advised what was wrong and how much it would be to repair the air conditioner. Well, upon checking and letting him know the problem, they advised it would be $1100. Well, we decided since the car is so old, we would not put that much money into it, instead of the service being free as told, they charged us $168. Which was not what was told up front. I am not satisfied with this type of service, what if I didn't have that much money on me? You told me it would be checked out for "free" don't come back and give me a price for the service. I have always been a little "leary" of Firestone, have always tried to honor you all; well, after today I am done with having Firestone to even check air pressure in my tires. If he was going to charge me, it should have been explained upfront. People are just trying to make it and this is the type of service you all give to customers. I will not be recommending anyone to Firestone. My father in law asked for someone to fix their car, well; it wont' be you.
Thanks so much for nothing!

overpricing, unethical behavior
Sub-mitting on behalf of my 70 yr. old brother. Although he has not requested this matter be pursued I feel the need to represent him as his funds are quite limited. He is gullible and is totally unfamiliar with auto repair. Customer Invoice 17892. He was about to go on a long trip, so on 8/11/17 he took his car (11 yr. old w/ 162K miles) in for an oil change and tire rotation. (He had purchased his tires from there 8 mos. back.) After car being at the shop from 7:AM to 8PM and them performing several allegedly needed repairs they sent him home with $1, 831.17 in charges and a car that ran badly. His dashboards lights and gauges were inoperative, and his tires had not been rotated. He took the car back to have these issues corrected. He found they had also miss-installed the timing belt which they had alleged he'd needed and which they had installed the day before. On the customer invoice under COMPLETE VEHICLE INSPECTION it is stated "Your battery is in good condition. At your next oil change we'll check it again for free." Later, they then proceeded to install a new battery for $157.99 in charges. Why was a new battery installed when they'd plainly stated at the initial inspection that his battery was in good condition? They charged over $236 for replacement of 6 spark plugs. That seems excessive. I can't decipher all the items on his bill, but included under the $1, 047.91 charge for TIMING BELTS, are $444 for "virtual"(?) water pump kit plus a $495 for remove and replace water pump. I feel at least half of his total charges should be returned to him. I'm not sure whether or not this is the proper format for instigating resolution of this issue, but I cannot find a place on the company's website for addressing same.
customer service
I feel like a subhuman after I left Firestone Automotive today (6102 Slide Road, Lubbock, TX). I called ahead and they put me in line and I waited fir 2 1/2 hours to get service ( tire balancing). They put several people ahead of me. Was it my race (white/Hispanic/Indian) - I also was wearing older clothes and a cowboy hat -- I guess I wasn't good enough to be treated with respect and at least told that I would not get service ! Does Firestone treat everyone badly or just me? Why were the other customers better than me ? Are they ?
a.c. recharge
I went in to have my a.C fixed because it wasn't blowing cold air. I was told it needed a recharge. fyi I was there at 11:00am and it wasn't done until around 3:30pm. when I get there to pick up my car I get told that its not fixed because for some reason the wiring is all screwed up. and I tell them well I have never had a problem when I take it to my normal mechanic. anyways they charged me the full amount even though its not working and then tell me I need to take my car back and pay another 89$ just so the master tech can look at it again and then pay even more so he can fix it. I by no means thank that this is good business at all I will not ever go back ever again. thanks a lot Crowley Tx Firestone! thanks for nothing
