fuel bucks gas credits
This is the second time I went to used my 15 cent off per gallon, And it wasn't there. It takes me a while to earn them.. And before you can suggest somebody used them, I'm widowed and nobody else has my card. I want my credits back . My food city card is [protected]. There should be no expiration to these . Not everybody spends alot of money every time they go grocery shopping.
bakery deli manager
Foodcity overall is a great place to work for but i've got to say foodcity in gray is probably the worst experience I had. For the first few months it was great! Everyone liked each other and got along, that is until we got a new manager and everyone turned on each other. I was told I couldn't come back because I walked out (I have been walked over and blamed for majority of the things that has gone on in the deli, note everyone back there is above 18 and can control their actions) but I was notified today that there was a person that was working there tonight even though he walked out right before I did. He is also the same person I got blamed for, for leaving. This manager alone has managed to lose 17/18 workers in about 6 months. I don't think that's something a company should be proud of and the way I was treated for the rest of my time there was very awful, including another worker. I think some managers should go back and learn how to treat their employees because the way she is doing it now is not very fair at all. I have a lot more to put on here but it would be better to talk on the phone or through email, I dont think you want customers seeing everything I have to say.
bakery/deli manager amber curtis
The bakery deli manager at the Gray Food City location, Amber Curtis, is very rude. She usually can not be bothered to help her employees if there are multiple customers and when she does ask customers what they need she then proceeds to have another deli clerk come take care of the customer. Generally she is sitting in the dining area not doing anything.
A lot of respect was lost for Foodcity, wont be shopping here much, if any.
pharmacy upcharging medication due to "availability"x
We went to pick up a monthly, common prescription, but this time, they over charged $50! And the reason, or more like the excuse they used, was "it cost more this time due to availability". How is that for one, good customer service, for a regular customer, and for two, how is that legal? And how are people supposed to know, when they come to pick up month prescriptions, if the total price is going to change on a whim? Due to "availability"? This strikes me as wrong, unbusinesslike, and fraudulent. Please explain how this is ok?
This was not in Arkansas, as it says, but Clinton, Tennessee.
marinated steak
I always come to Food City to get my marinated steak but this time was different the clerk told me you know you have to
pay $0.50 extra for
marinated steak I ask the clerk I said when did you start this hey so we've always done this I told him that guy who usually does it as always well has never told me about this well he proceeded I marinate my steak with not enough marinade to even go on it usual Guy usually sends it home in a bag if you knows I'm going to be cooking it right away so I can marinate this man was very rude he works in the Elizabethton Tennessee location he was the server today between 4:30 I cook my steak on the grill and it wasn't marinated at all it was the worst date I've ever got from Food City and it was New York strip it did not taste like it had marinate on it I will not be coming back to Food City and less I get a reason for why this was done I will let my friends and family know they had to pay an extra $0.50 to have it marinate it and that it's not worth it please fix this problem cuz I really did love your steaks

store manager, travis
As of Nov. 2017 I had worked @ Food City for 2 yrs. I started as a cashier, and quickly worked my way to a front end manager, also learning other departments in the store. On Nov.18 2017, our store was having our Thanksgiving dinner for the associates. I had clocked out for my lunch, and went to the break room. This is where I had eat lunch for the time I had worked there, being that I live 25 minutes away, and I cannot afford to eat out. On this day, I had brought my bottle of water from home as I did everyday, set it on the break room table and preceded to the restroom, when I returned, my water was gone, I then ask what had happened to my water, and I was told Travis had came into the room, asked who it belonged to, and then threw it into the trash. I then confronted him with this, he then said it was not a F.C. brand, and that I could shop where I work or I should go to work where I shop. Then on Nov.20 2017, I shared my problem with our H.R., who then shared our conversation with another associate. I have a F.C. handbook, and nowhere does it say I would need to purchase and consume items from F.C. or @ either of my interviews was I made aware. I did continue to go to work, needing my job and benefits. I then started eating lunch in my car. But @ the first of Jan. the weather turned very cold, 6 degrees and my lunch froze. I then realized the job was not worth it, and I gave a 15 day notice. I have turned in a complaint to KVAT, but to my knowledge nothing was done. I will not and should not be bullied into purchasing items from F.C.
pharmacy
Pharmacist named Missy is very discriminative against people on suboxone... it's a hassle every time I go to get my meds, always to early or some other reason that I can't get my meds! Can't stand judgemental people who have not been in your shoes, if it wasn't for people like me and others with medical problems you guys wouldn't have your high paying jobs!
the eoe and how harassing, discrimination, and slander is allowed in front of, and about customers
I recently visited a food city located in Bristol Tn off Virginia Ave. They have no respect among employees and customers. First I encounter a blonde worker telling a customer she hated another employee and was out to get her fired. Then told this fellow she heard he had Aids. His face turned red, the worker then walked off and told another worker that should do it.
A few weeks later, I walk in to find the new worker this employee was trying to get rid of had same name as the blonde. She was innocently standing there as the blonde and another approach her while she was working and said "can I have your autograph, seen where you got pulled over, didn't know we had a celebrity working with us" that girl almost busted out in tears. The blonde made it clear she been there longer and didn't like the other employee and would get rid of her. I was walking off when I heard the new employee say, "I have done nothing to you. I have kids and raising them by myself. Please leave me alone." The blonde just smirked and said "I don't like you"
My suggestion to Food City is if they are looking for lawsuits they going down right path. If I could have I would have told that young lady to go to her manager and if he did nothing about these crimes committed against her sue! I am not the only witness to this behavior. It is poor and flat out unprofessional.
That fellow the blonde told her lies too, trying to cause problems well he made it plain after over 15 years of being their customer he would shop somewhere else. I myself probably will too and so will others.
Here it is almost Christmas and jobs getting hard to fine. Yet when someone is trying to support a family and new they have to face bullying in the public eye. Shame on you Food City for allowing this. You need to either fire the blonde or seriously sit down and explain E.O.E and your company policy to that blonde again.
refusal to complete transaction
On the evening of Nov 26, I called my 25 year old son and asked him to run by the store to purchase a bottle of wine for me. I am currently limited to traveling due to a broken foot. So he stopped by Food City in Chatsworth Ga while he was out with his girlfriend to get it for me. He got the wine off the shelf and he carried it to the register. He was asked for ID and presented it. At first the girl looked at the date wrong and tried to refuse him, but then realized her mistake. But then she asked his girlfriend for her id. Now she is also 25 years old, but did not have an ID with her. Why in the world would you ask everyone that walked into the store with him for their ID? So when she refused to sell it to them, my son asked for manager. Brian Wattenburg, asst mgr, also refused to sell it. This is the most rediculous policy I have ever heard. Just so you know, my son and his girlfriend rarely ever drink and had NOT been drinking that night. So is this some sort of profiling or judgement call that your staff does? I called to talk to Brian Wattenburg after this incident, and questioned this. I explained how I have to depend on my 20 and 25 year old to go to the stores for me due to my broken foot right now, and I gave him a scenario that if I had sent my two kids into the store to purchase my groceries and also a bottle of wine, and only the 25 year old touched the wine and made transaction...would you decline the purchase? He said he would! Well you have lost a Food City customer due to this, but obviously you don't care too much or you would not be so willing to turn down our sales in the first place. There are too many other choices out there for us to be insulted, treated like we are trying to break a law or have our transactions refused. Well, he went down the street to the liquor store and had no issues, with his girlffiend by his side. And they could not even believe that food city refused that sale for that reason. Keep offending your customers in this manner and you wont have any left. You have certainly lost our family business and I DID give you alot.
food city fresh milk
Food City has implemented a new gallon shape for their milk cartons. I'm all for innovation and trying something new, but these gallons just don't work. My family, when we were buying the new gallons, would constantly spill milk when trying to pour it. The gallon also does not fit in our refrigerator, and just looks plain ugly. We quickly stopped buying them. And on top of trying to sell thee things, it appears as if Food City is going to sell these gallons exclusively. Last time I went to get some milk, there were only about four or five Mayfield gallons (which are actually shaped normally), and they were on clearance. If Food City does intend to sell these gallons exclusively, I will most likely go elsewhere to buy my milk. I am fine with them trying something new, but at least give your customers more options if they do not like it.
Thank you for your time,
A Concerned Customer

I was buying mucus relief. The dollar zone ones because I have asthma and take them to aid in my congestion. The cashier was ringing me up and my husband was buying beer and the cashier wasn't old enough to ring it up. She called for I guess a front end manager which was a young female standing there bouncing a rubber ball. The girl came over with her rubber ball and rang the beer up. Then seen the mucus pills and asked if that's what they use to make meth. I'm an over weight 41 year old woman with all my teeth And work every day in a factory. I do not use or have ever used meth. Rude little witch
She probably was just asking a question and your attitude about it was far too extreme. Sometimes, even you, say crap before you think about it.
poor customer treatment
During trick or treat last night I had brought my son into Food City store 438 to get his treat. He is only 13yrs old and was wearing a mask with a fake go-tee. I was wearing a costume as well. I was planning to make a purchase after he got his treat. After he walked up to the express check out and said trick or treat he was very rudely told he did not get a treat because he was an adult. I did not make any purchases nor do I ever plan on going back into this store ever again. If we were treated rudely last night, then we will be treated just as rudely during every visit. Oddly enough I took my son to several other retail stores in the area for trick or treat and there were no issues with his costume. He and I both were treated very kindly. The attitude of this Food City store toward all customers was made very clear last night.
Sounds like an honest mistake was made based on the rules they have - doesn't sound like it was intentional so leaping to the conclusion that "everyone" at all times will be mistreated there is unwarranted and even more unfair then your son - who I guess looked above age?, didn't get candy. I've been to Food City in hazard and have never had any issues at all - they have always been very friendly and helpful - just like the one at whitesburg. Did you talk to anyone in management about it and explain he is not an adult?
Your 13 year old must be pretty tall and loos older.
(cashier discrimination against me and my family)
On 8-3-16 around 11pm at the Whitesburg, KY store me an my family stopped by after traveling all day seeing my grandmother that is dying with cancer. I seen they was only 1 register open besides the express lane which is 10 items or less the cashier Matt said sorry this is a 10 items or less isle. I was trying to explain him that my sister had like 5 items, and I had like 5 items in the same buggy. He refused to check us out an directed us to the other lane which like 6 people was in front of us. He tells the 2 young ladies that was next in line at the regular lane to come down to the express lane an he would get them right fast. I said sorry Sir didn't you just tell me this was closed to go to the next open lane so while he was checking these ladies out I asked to speak to his manager which he informed me his name was Shaun Potter and he was at the gas an go closing up. I said I will wait to discuss this situation with him an after I start telling him the way his employee had done an act of discrimination to me and my family, I also stated to Mr. Potter why his employee was behaving in this manner an asked was he discriminating me because we wasn't young females, or because I was wearing a University of Kentucky clothing? I also asked him does he do random drug test on his employees? And if so he might want to do one on this employee. And all Mr. Potter said is "I will deal with him." I said well let's go see why Matt your employee didn't want to serve my family an he said no I will deal with it all I wanted was an apology or an Mr. Potter wouldn't let me enter back in to see why Matt was Discriminating me, and my family so I asked who his boss was he stated Shawn Marcum. I think Food City and other stores have handbooks that teaches their employee's not to discriminate against Age, Sex, Race. But since your Manager didn't want to resolve this situation the right way I will be turning this matter over to my lawyer. I also need to know the name of the company doing the remodeling cause the two guy's operating the Scissor Jacks which I have several other witness besides my family we will have to subpoena cause I feel like my civil rights have been Discriminated.
service of pharmacy assistants
Today I called Food City Pharmacy in Dandridge, Tn. And asked a simple question. What is the next highest milligram on a extented release medication I was currently taking. Because on a medication that I take with this is an immdiate release, the milligrams are being lowered on it and I have to stay within a certain total amount of 120 milligrams daily according to DEA rules. This Pharmacy asst put me on hold for 25 min and 41 seconds and never came back to the phone. And when I hung up and called back. The same person answered and said in m8st rude loader tone of voice. WHAT DID YOU NEED MR._____. So she knew she purposely left him on the phone for almost an half an hour. She is totally off the page when it comes to customer survice. This phone call was made on June 9th 2016 at 11.19 a. m.

i went to super dollar, which is a subsidiary of food city, they said i had a outstanding balance, when i called KVAT, we found out it was a Cashier named Angie Greer, who had used my driver license on the customer that was behind me in line so she would not have to ask the other customer for hers, this has been fixed through KVAT, but this cashier has caused us a lot of trouble and embarrassment, this is not legal for sure, and Food City, needs to do something about this.
drugged out employees
I happen to know for a fact of employees that work third shift that do drugs, Justin Charvis is one of them, he has gone to work high, had marijuana delivered to him while at work, has smoked in the bathroom while on break, there are other employees that also work third shift who do pills, go to work half drunk, I mean really that's the mind of people...

I have the same problem! I'm 79 and live alone. I fill my gastsnk about once every three weeks.
By the time I get enough points to fill it...
My previous shopping points have expired.
I'm thinking of looking elsewhere for similar benefits.
I got a new phone and new phone number which had belonged to someone else in the past (mobile companies recycle numbers). When I got a new Food City value card, Food City of course attached my new phone number to that value card. So, every time I went to the store, it would ask if I was Name A (past person) or Name B (me) because we were both on the same phone number! So any time I racked up Perks, the peron whose old phone number I now had would put in her "old" phone number and use up my Fuel Bucks! I finally went onto the app after I got a different new phone number (I got fed up with getting phone calls for this person whose number I now had) and updated my Value Card to my NEW new phone number. Now, my number is attached to that card and I am not asked if (when using phone number instead of actual card) to select a name. There is only me.
Happens to me too. Ive also had them use more than one and not ask or tell me their using them.
