Cashier Swayvia serviced a foreign customer prior to me and barely acknowledged the customer as she chewed and smacked gum. As she serviced me, I said to her, "I wish you wouldn't chew gum on your line as if you're not at work." She continued and undoubtedly was irritated by my statement. After my transaction, she laid my change down & refused to put it in my hand and stated she wouldn't be talked to as if she weren't human.Appalled by her actions, I reminded her that she was at work and asked for a manager. She refused so that I spoke loudly until a manager came. I specifically told her the situation could be resolved if ahe complied but she wouldn't. Manager Rick came & rather than have her respect my request, he asked her to give it back. She refused. I reminded her that she could lose her job being that I, the customer, had been mistreated. Because of her insubordination, he gave it back to me. Another customer interjected having only heard part of the conversation tried to defend her because Swayvia began crying which caused another confrontation. ALL of THIS could have been avoided had Swayvia not taken me as a customer for granted. It is my belief that respect goes a long way and if all I needed was my change in my hand from the person who initially waited on me, then that should have been merited. I have been a customer of Bi-Lo and now Food City for 10 years and if cashiers are allowed to treat loyal customers on this manner, I along with all of my family can take our business to competition, especially when they're more convenient and respectful.

I was at the store right before 7:50 p.m. stood in line forever the manager come up on two people working the register and told them that they shouldn't be on the same register. They both should be on a register each. They was both cutting up and playing around and had a couple of price checks I don't know what was going on the manager walked off. the girls summons a manager to come over to override the register I stood there and stood there and stood there while they cut up and played around manager never showed up I finally walked off cuz the guy open another register somebody jumped in front of me so I went to the manager and I said [censor] this I'm leaving. Lori is the manager Jamil was on the register y'all need to get your [censor] together I'll start shopping some [censor] place else
rude manager
I went to the store # 656 around 4:30 pm to cash in some coins. It had a note on it saying 2 handful at a time. So thats what I did. The machine constantly stop which build up the coin that I had enter previously, I ask the Manager Stacey for some help. She pointed to the note in Spanish, I told her I read and speak English she turn around and left. I am standing there like a dummy not knowing what to do. I ask another employee and she calls Stacey. At this time Stacey comes and says she can't help us because I put in to many coins and that my coins were dirty and it was going to break her machine and left. Gladly a nice gentelman by the name of Caleb comes and help us. I explained that the machine was acting up since we got there. He said he knows it's been acting up for a while. Don't ever want to go in there again. I felt so emberass, humiliating and descriminated.

We live in Piney Flats and only 3 minutes away from us (with the car) is a Food City that had a sign saying that Food City delivers. Now i'm really sick and would like to use that service, but it says it wouldn't work for my area? Why would you put up a sign and advertise for something that's not even available in that area? I wonder how many other people tried the same thing after seeing that sign... It's frustrating..

On November 28, 2017 I went into the pharmacy in Big Stone Gap. Before I tell this story let me first say this is where my family gets all of their prescriptions. Leslie Dupree the main pharmacist in charge is an amazing woman! She has a heart of gold who goes over and beyond for her customers. On this particular day I was going to the pharmacy for my mother. This wasn't a routine pharmacy visit she was just getting released from the hospital. I turned in her prescriptions and shopped when I returned the pharmacy tech Adam had an attitude with me because they were slammed and short handed. I told him j had no problem sending my husband to get the prescriptions when they were done that I just wanted to make sure there were no issues with the processing of them. He said I will check with Melinda the pharmacist because she is who is on today because the spelling of your mother's name isn't correct on the prescriptions I said I know I called and was told as long as the both date and address match the insurance card all would be fine. He said well it is up to who is on duty not who you spoke to very hateful. He also told me again they were slammed and short handed o again said I had no problem waiting. Melinda then came over got the script and told me it was illegal and the she would message her supervisor. I could tell by her actions she didn't want to fool with making sure my mother's prescriptions were taken care of. I then just told her since she wasn't comfortable I would just take them elsewhere. She or Adam the tech seemed not to care. I was not happy about the experience. Like I said before my family will stay with Food City because of Leslie and that is the only reason. How I was treated over my mother's prescriptions was uncalled for and very upsetting. Thank you for taking the time to read this! You have an amazing pharmacist who goes over and beyond in that pharmacy but you have a few that are going against everything she is working so hard for.

I live near and shop at Food City Store #716. On several occasions i have bought out of date products from this particular store including ham i had sliced at the deli which went out of date the day after buying it as well as two Crazy mikes pizzas both sell by dates where 6/8/2017 i bought the pizzas on 11/1/2017. I spoke to the store manager when i bought the ham from the deli which was out of date letting him know this wasn't the first time this had happened. Months later they sell me the pizzas. It would be nice to walk into a grocery store owned by a multi billion dollar corporation and not have to check the sell by dates on all my food.

The new manager mark at foodcity in harlan county kentucky needs to have a course in customer service because he clearly doesn't know how to speak to his employees, he puts them under so much stress that it makes you want to go to ththe mental hospital.. Mark needs out or food city in harlan ky will be shut down because of their crappy person they call "manager" I was in there the other day shopping and try to ask him a question and he blew me off and rolled his eyes what kind of manager is that? To whom it may concern:
I stopped today, October 17, 2017 at the Elizabethton Tennessee Gas n Go store, I purchased a 32 oz. Mountain Dew Icee which was supposed to be 1.39 the cashier charged me 2.39 I asked her about it and she said it was because I got a 32 oz styrofoam cup. I did not see the Icee cups to the left of the machine, all I saw was the stryofoam cups that were directly under the icee machine so I thought that was them. I didn't want to take a second cup and transfer the icee to it for making a mess, so this is what I told the cashier, it was a honest mistake, I was not trying to cheat anyone, I am also an employee of the local sheriff's office and had my uniform on, so I thought she would know I was telling the truth at least. I don't expect any special treatment because of this and I know that people do try to beat stores out of products because I also work at Subway and I know this, but what I did was a honest mistake. I went ahead and paid the full price because I didn't want to leave the drink sitting and walking out, but I also think that the cashier could have maybe checked with a supervisor or something to see if she could have let me have it for regular price or maybe store could move the styrofoam cups from under the icee machine or place a sign on them. While eating there I was subjected to bloody chicken and foul language . The food at the salad bar was crusty and nasty looking. A complaint was requarded with snippy attitude by a woman who claimed to be the assistant manager. Two male managers were sharing photographs of another managers breasts on their phone! Really! I will do my shopping at the local Walmart and other stores from now on.

The incident occurred on Monday September 25, 2017. While I was shopping for groceries in the local Food City store, it came to my attention that some of the other customers had brought three animals, in a stroller, inside the store. When I discussed with the managers about the issue, they informed me that nothing could be done. The customers had claimed that the animals were of service; therefore, they were allowed to continue shopping with the animals inside. I found this to be disrespectful, and horrific that a place which holds, makes, and sells food; would allow for animals to be inside with it.

I shopped at food city #655 today & when checking out, I obviously was interrupting cashier m.E., #5522, lane 5. First, she never spoke one word to me until leaving & that was "thank you". I know for a fact that that is unacceptable customer service. Second, she dropped my cereal on the floor because she just pushed everything to the end of the counter where, to no surprise, no courtesy clerk. My granddaughter retrieved a cart & her & I bagged our groceries. Third, in the process of scanning my order, she left to go to lane 6 & whisper in the cashiers ear. This happened in the very beginning & that is why I say I interrupted her conversation. I have no words other than rude! Fourth, she was drinking at the register. Since when has that been allowed? Unfortunately, this is the closest grocery store we have in our area, except kroger 10 minutes away. I have watched the detoriation of this store for the last several years. Sad, because it used to be a beautiful store but major changes need to be made to this store & staff. After today, I will either shop at blaine of kodak. Please make sure this cashier understands the results of her actions & to always put the customer first. We are the ones who supplement your paycheck. Thank you!

i'm here to fraud going off at food city of south Williamson ky the store keeps on spiking prices on there products after somebody buys that product it's been going off here for along time since i caught on what they was doing spiking prices way up there after somebody buys the product and putting false advertising on the price labels saying buy one get one free and still there charging people half price for the product post to be buy one get the other free of charge that is misleading people and it should be against the law for stores to do any kind of fraud

It has been 2 months now that my family and I have noticed that the fiesta 12 pk of cola and 2 liters have tasted off.They taste like maybe the strawberry flavor got mixed with it .Please return it to its original taste, I like getting it at the end of month when I am low on money, it is a great money saver . I stocked up 2 12 packs for end of the July and we had to throw them away, they were undrinkable with a Robitussin type taste that makes you cringe when drinking it, please fix the problem, thank you.

Today 8-4-17 my sister ordered 10 chicken legs which are .69 each. On picking them up for her they were 1.03 each because they were out and got them from the meat department. There were 7 of the .69 in there tray. So I walked off and left them. Very dissatisfied with this process. This used to be the go to place for me and my family but it is now a shady area.

Yes I purchased three money orders at the Hazard Kentucky food city. 8/1/2017. I accidentally filled one out to the wrong place. So I took my transaction receipt from food and the money order. I asked the young man at the office if he. Luke reissue a new one. He said no. I replied then what cAn I do? He replied nothing. There's nothing you can do. You could cash it he replied. And I told him I can't cash it now, it's filled out. And it's addressed to the wrong business, he shrugged it off and said there's nothing you can do. Now I know he's been there long enough to know better, because I shop there and get money orders there all the time. Either he hasn't been properly trained or is just to lazy and none compassionate enough to take care of it and I'm thinking he's lazy, because I know for a fact it can be done because Walmart sells the same money orders and has done it. I've filed a complaint to western union And I'm going to file one with the better business bureau. You have lost a valuable customer all because your two pm clerk was to lazy to do what was right. Walmart will get my business and everybody else's I can get by putting this on social media.

I recently called the food city of lebanon to have a pork loin sliced and marinated I told them I did not buy it there and there response was no problem we can slice it and marinate it for a small fee and it would take 15 min to do. So I proceed to the store and arrive at the meat dept. Just to be told very rudely that they would not do so. Why tell me u can do something and then have a customer that by the way spends any where from 500 to 750 dollars a month with food city monthly that you can do something and have me take a frozen product that now I must use up immediately thats not prepared out of a freezer and not do what you said u could do and by a manager that was absolutely a smart [censor] in everyway. From this point on my business will not be given to a store that has such employees as this one man.

I was going through the gas station of food city when a screw went in my driver side front tire. I went in and asked to speak to a manager and the guy said I have to speak to the store manager. I called him on July 3, 2017 at 3pm but was busy then he called me back at 3:11pm and said " how do I know you got it from here". mayfield chocolate overload cones
Everytime I buy a box of this ice cream the waffle cones are soft. The stockers at Chilhowie Food City let the ice cream thaw, as it refreezes it causes the cones to become soft and no longer crunchy. Ive had this problem multiple times and it shouldn't happen. I can buy the same product at Wal-Mart and never have this problem. If the stockers would stock this product in a timely fashion this wouldn't be a problem.
