bakery deli
I ordered my 4 year old son's cupcakes 2 weeks in advance at food city #602 in Morristown TN. The cupcakes he wanted was Jason Voorhees. I showed the picture to the cake decorator and she said that she would not be able to make the knives but could do everything else. I sent the picture to her phone to make sure she had it. We decided instead of the knives to make dirt on top of the cupcakes with blood coming out. When we picked up the cupcakes they were horrible. I didn't make a scene so I signed the paper and went to the main office. The assistant store manager named Josh was extremely nice and just kept apologizing for the cupcakes. The price on them was 18.99, he marked them down to 12.00. We took them home, and when my son saw them he cried and ran in his bedroom and would not come out. So, this is the 2nd time in a row that our cake has been wrong. We will not be back to this food city #602.
on more than one occasion she has been rude to me as a customer.
I was shopping and ask for service at the specialty case in the meat department this woman huffed like it was inconvenient for her to wait on me and when I ask for a special cut of meat she ask others to cut it. When in my opinion she should have been able to do it if she is in that department. She continues to act as if she was angry and didn't want to get what I ask for, she tried to sell me something else. I ended walking away and going somewhere else.
Store
I used to be a very loyal Food City Customer. I will not shop here anymore. If you have noticed a decline in sales/customers in the store in this area, there are reasons.
Everytime I go to this store, you are out of what I go to get. Milk, fruit, canned goods, meat, chicken produce. How can you be out of Romaine on a regular basis, or Gerber chicken (even when it is not on sale). These things are items that used to be in stock all the time. I am faced with either having to go without, changing to a brand that costs more, or making a trip to Kroger to find what I need.
It does not seem to very disconcerting to the management, as I have complained, and people that work in the produce department do not want to even look up how much something costs (it was not marked as to cost on the display) and ask me if I really wanted them to make a trip to the register for pricing, could I not just take it and buy it. Also another practice that has turned me against shopping with the store, is putting up tags on items that say one price and when you get to the register it rings up something else. Then when I have questioned it, I am told that that sale went off the previous week. Wellllllll, why not take those tags off the shelf, because the expiration date on the tag is so small you cannot see it, and it is deceptive if you are trying to get in and out, to have to check each tag, each item, everytime you shop. I also used to buy things that were marked 5 for $0.00 whatever price. Not anymore. If you bought one item, it was the price of 5 divided into the price, i.e. 5 for $2.00, it would be 40 cents each, but no, now it has been changed that you only get a good price if you buy 5 of those items. I can go to Kroger who does not practice this, and get lower prices. The prices at the Food City I shop at has raised their prices a lot. I am a Senior on a fixed income. My store that I shop at is close to my home, but now I will be going 1 mile further to a larger Kroger, shopping simply because prices are lower, and more fairly assessed. Also, if I go to Kroger, and they are out on the shelf of an item, and they have the next largest size in stock, they will give me the larger sized item at the price of the one they are out of.
Food City deli people cannot count the number of pieces of chicken in an 8 piece either. Twice lately I have bought chicken from the deli and got home with 7 pieces. I called and they offered to replace the 1 piece, but that would be another trip to the store, more gas and time to pick up 1 piece of chicken.
There seems to be larger issues at this store.
deli food
I had my son pick up a lunch meal for me yesterday. Meatloaf, potatoes and macaroni. i'd just got out the hospital and was anxious to get decent meatloaf. I'd forgotten I always purchased my deli meals in Sevierville and for this very reason. The meatloaf was burnt to a crisp. I couldn't even cut through it with a knife. This is not my first problem with this Food City. When the store first opened it was spectacular. Everything was so clean and fresh with good dates on milk, soda, bread and milk specifically. Now the bread my son brought home yesterday has a use by date in 3 days...same Story with Mayfield milk. Add to these problems, the shelves aren't stocked well at all...not a week goes by that I dont get my entire list. Less than 2 months ago I had to trash around 20 dollars worth of ground beef.the use by date wasthedayhe bought it. Also, the cans, bottles are dirty, ...dust on cans and sofa bottles so sticky they stick to my counter and refrigerator. This meal was the final straw for me. I'm gonna upload the pics of that "meatloaf" and let you decide what your next move is. Suffice it to say, I'm not the only dissatisfied customer. I've uploaded pictures of the black meatloaf

check out/ manager
Tonight my girlfriend and I went into food city, we are visiting family and new to the area (also house hunting while out here) I was purchasing cigarettes for my disabled father. When I asked the woman (stacy) about getting them she directed me to customer service where there was nobody working. (mind you I have never been to a food city or a grocery store similar to this at all) after she fussed about getting me the cigarettes she had me use the self check out. I am new here so I didn't know how they worked. She did not offer me any help and was very rude. I didn't see the pin pad where you pay so I was searching the screen all over and she said "to your right!" so I looked on the screen again and she yelled "to your right! To your right!" it wouldn't have taken long for her to come up to me and say "sir, the pin pad is over here."
Overall it was an awful experience and I do not plan on ever going back. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. For her to even be a manager is discomforting. I hope you all take the appropriate actions, and I hope other customers do not have to put up with what I did.
manager detained me
I had a manager detain me in hazard food city because I took a picture of his large flower pots above his dairy. He asked me to see the photos which I complied with. I even offered to erase the photos. I don't understand how you feel it's right to detain someone because you feel they ar taking photos of your items. I want you to put yourself in my place and tell me if you would have been the least bit embarrassed about that whole situation.
employee rudeness
I returned an electrical cart from outside to be nice and proceeded to purchase my soda when a heavy set latino employee followed me and my friend outside and told us we would be trespassed if we returned. He did tell us to put the cart back which of course we did and apologized and proceeded to our purchase but then he followed us outside and was extremely rude. I would like this trespass warning revoked as I have committed NO criminal acts in the store and am a faithful customer. I buy a two liter every day before school.
harassment from store manager 5/13
Hi, my name is Scott Pike and I have been a frequent shopper at Food City for about 9 years now. I have never had an issue until this evening, May 13, 2018. I will start by saying I do not drive to and from the grocery store as it is only half a mile from my home and deem it to be a waste of gas. Now, during my weekly trips to Food City I carry a backpack in the shopping cart. I have never been harrassed or asked to leave due to my backpack. Well, tonight I decided to get a case of water, some corn dogs and get a money order while I was in store. As I am going down the aisle where the cases of water were, a manager of the Ooltewah, TN location walks up to me and harasses me. He goes on to accuse me of attempting to steal the case of water. I proceed to tell him that I am not stealing anything as I have never stolen anything or even thought of doing so. I mean, it's $2.69 for water. I can afford it. As I explain that I am in this particular location weekly, with the same backpack, he puts his hands on me. Now, I'm a nonconfrontational person. I try to diffuse the situation, but your manager proceeds to harrass me. I will no longer be doing business at Food City due to this horrid behavior. I would like a phone call no later than 5/14/2018 to discuss this matter further. I do believe your manager was also using tobacco products in the store and slobbered on my backpack, causing a stain. I do expect to be reimbursed for my backpack and have this manager reprimanded along with a personal apology from this manager. I can be reached at [protected] at any time. Thank you
job
Hello,
My name is Kibbie Parsons, other day, I was suppose go work on Monday May 7th and my husband (on purpose), send an email to my boss saying that I quit and because too much, then later he send it again and say sorry big mistakes to resign and I knew it was too late and now I am sure they removed me and I did try contact to explain that it was not me saying that. No response since then. I am really upset and really want go back to work after my husband did so is there any way that we can discuss to let me come back in? But, if can't then it will be problem. Please help me out.
Kibbie Parsons
well yea but I need remove this how? and need reexplain clear it up
You know the old saying?
Once it's on the net, it's permanent. Why do you want to remove it now? You can't, even if it was removed its still on the net itself.
Were you making the whole thing up? If you were, I feel sorry for you. Lol.
First of all...
Why does your husband even have access to your email account, that he could do such a thing. Second, what logical sense of a man sends to his wife's job that she has quit? That means NO income coming in.
You need to divorce this man. If he's doing oddball and destructive things like this the more you stay with him the longer he's going to do damage.
I am sure you have things like cars, mortages, and other utility bills to pay along with food and gas. How are you going to manage that now since your husband sent that VERY VERY foolish email?
If the company is not responding than you can forward a complaint of the HR to an employee protection group. Also, your husband will have to be legally held responsible for sending that message in the first place, since it was because of his actions that you ended up loosing your job.
Please get rid of that man and send the complaint in. In the meanwhile, start looking for other jobs.
Was this a retail job? How long did you work in this job for? Has your husband been having this type of behavior because as of now, he is NOT suitable to have in your life.
deli
went to the deli to get fried chicken. asked for an 8pc with all dark meat. guy working behind the counter pointed to the refrigerated section and said that's all the 8pcs we put together. Asked for manager. He complained it would take too much time. Side items under hot bar looked like they'd been under warmer all day dried out and crusted to pans
being accused of stealing from food city at store 676
Yes I have been a over a 7 year customer at the foodcity on western Ave store number #676 we were shopping on Sunday the 15th at about 12 pm when a deli worker by the name of tammy brown come up to us while we were in the meat department and accused us of stealing a pack of Peep's candy that was on sale for 70 cents when fact it did not happen at all I feel like that this was totally wrong I have called and talked to the store manager named Tim Blakeley and asked him to look at the camera and see if I indeed stole them they keep changing their stories this store has really bad customer service and I feel like that something needs to be done about this. A store employee can be replaced but a long time customer can not be replaced
customer service
Visited today 4/1 and went through the self check out. When I approached the cashier about putting in my phone number she rolled her eyes. Then some guy yelled at me telling me I couldnt purchase gift cards at self check. Yelled at me. I had already scanned the gift card and it locked up my register. The cashier was so busy talking to this guy she was not paying any attention to my register. After waiting several minutes, she finally did whatever and I was able to pay. I had to go through another register to get my card. I will not be back to this store. Food city seems to have a reputation of unprofessional behavior.
sale pricing
I usually never complain, but if i had received help for the problem I still wouldn't . Today I purchased two land-0-lakes unsalted butter which was marked at 2.49. After checking my receipt i noticed the price was 5.49 . Being charged basically 6.00 too much i took the receipt back and asked for the sale price, which was still located below the item. A manager was called for about 7 minutes and no one came. I had to leave so I just took the items and left. Little stuff like this is why people change where they shop. so just keeping you informed so it dosent happen to other people who otherwise may not can afford to throw away 6 bucks, Cashier 1023, store 0645, Transaction 7543.

deli
I waited over an hour at Food City deli in Blaine TN today for my food. I was finally given my food and a full refund. I will never set foot in this store again. Thank you for your cooperation.Surely something can be done so other customers do not have the same experience as I did. I had been a customer with different Food City stores for several years. I will take my business elsewhere from this day forward.
meat
I bought hamburger meat from food city on the 13th of February I always come straight home and put it in the freezer today the 6th of march I opened it to make meatloaf and it was sour so it had to be ruined when I bought it. I will no longer be doing business with food city due to this incident the manager at the store was very rood about the whole incident and didn't at least give me another pack of meat. So hopefully my issue might get resolved this way but I wont count on it.
unauthorized atm charge
I came in Saturday the 24th of February, bought 106.64 dollars worth of groceries and was charged 20 dollars for cash back. I didn't realize I was charged for the 20.00. I went back to the store and the people at the store said they saw me on video. They said I put it in my pocket, but they would not let me see the video. Which I guess is policy, but this is the 2nd occurrence and I didn't complain the first time, but for future reference I do not want anything else sent to me from Food city and I will no longer be shopping there and I spend over a hundred dollars a weekend every weekend there, but I will be going to another shop from now on.
check out/customer service
02/25/18 FC Dand, Tn I have repeatedly horrible experiences with the cashiers. Today, cashier Alexis & front end manager Jennifer had an in depth conversation about high school as my 8-pack of Sprite fell off the conveyor belt & a piece of poster board became crumpled. I had to grab the loaf of bread before it was flattened by canned goods. Not once did the two turn around. The the wonderfully pleasant bagger, Wesley, did his best to keep up & apologized repeatedly. What is the purpose of 2 people unloading the grocery cart while 1 person bags? This is not an isolated incident. The full-time managers are very nice & helpful but the front-end service is lacking. I shouldn't have to fight to to protect what I'm trying to buy from becoming damaged. I'm grateful to have a grocery store near my home but if this lack of customer service continues, I will begin shopping @ Ingle's or Publix. Publix acknowledges & greets every customer. They certainly do not engage in personal conversations in front of customers. As I stated if this does not change, I will taking my business elsewhere.
indifference
ice cream
I bought 3 gallons of premium ice cream one banana split and 2 cookies and cream and the was a stick in my cookies and cream ice cream. How nasty is that? It was 6.00 for 3 and now I choose to throw all 3 out this is the first time I ever bought ice cream from food city and the last I don't even know how a stick gets into ice cream but this should be recalled
customer service
I have Bell's palsy so my face twitches or spasms at times. It's very hard for me to leave the house. Today as I was checking out at the Food City in Gatlinburg, TN. The man who was bagging my groceries laughed at me and asked why I was "making such an awful face."
I feel horrible about the way I look. Thanks for making it much worse. I hope the old man loses his job and if he says it again, I'll make him wish he never opened his mouth.
