On 4/9 I booked a room on line with the holiday in express or that's who I thought it was.aftet seeing 10minutes later that it was this 3 party get a room from my bank statement I quickly called them and told them to cancel this and refund my money that I was going to book through the actual hotel .The company refused to cancel and refund my money back so I could book through hotel.

The hotel was happy to help me rebook though them at a lower rate and no fees that this site charges my acct. How can you not be able to cancel this 10 minutes later.

This also appears to be another ave they take they cancel it and then you have to hound them for your money.
Refund policy
Hi booked a room in the wrong place accidentally and immediately called the 1-800- number to correct and rebook. I was told I would get a full cancellation and rebooked my new room. I discovered that I was only partially refunded and was charged over $436.00 for the cancelled room. I have been unable to get help to clear this up. I had them help me with the cancellation and they lied to me and took my money. I tried number times to get assistance and was not allowed to speak to a supervisor. Please contact me. [protected]

Site is a total scam
This site is a scam. I didn't realize I was directed to their site, thought I was on the LAX Hilton website. After realizing my mistake I contacted the LAX Hilton and they did not make a reservation. I cancelled but their policy is I needed to cancel by 1/9/2022 for a "reservation" made on 1/11/2022. I needed to cancel two days prior to unfortunately being on their site. To be clear they have never made a reservation for me. But I have been fighting for 90 days on this. They will respond that they are sorry, they will throw an excuse that I disputed this with my bank and they can't do anything. The truth is there is no active dispute on this charge! They point to Chase and Chase points to GetARoom. They will take your money and they will provide you with nothing but excuses and deflections. To be clear at no time did GetARoom ever make a reservation for me, this is not even something they have disputed. There claim of active dispute is false. They just want to keep my money without providing any service whatsoever. I have contacted LAX Hilton to confirm this. What kind of company keeps your money despite not providing any service? On 3/19/2022 I made the hotel booking at NH Palazzo Moscova in Milan/Italy for Mrs. Dalia Garih. She was supposed to check in mar 30. The fare was free cancellation. I had to cancel the booking on mar29 for medical reason but getaroom kept the money as full penalty, according to the hotel cancellation policy. I contacted the hotel and they confirmed the free cancellation of the room. I sent the letter to the company but I did not receive any reply from the getaroom so far. I want the refund asap please

Wrong amount charged
Was misled about this third party. The amount agreed to and the billing are vastly different. The hotel told me this was your responsibility. I’ve spent hours on the phone with no resolution. The final bill is hundreds above what I was told. We booked the Hampton Inn in Philadelphia for four days in May. I would gladly supply mor information but I have a trust issue based on your poor performance .

looking for a refund
I made a reservation on December 15 for a wedding on February 26 2022 my credit card was charged on December 15 for 3 nights in Fayetteville NC at the Springhill Suites by Marriott. $6587.58. I called the Marriott to make reservations they told me to book it online.
At check-in I gave them my name and credit card. Upon check out, I was told my room had been paid for by the wedding party. I asked for a credit on my card. Marriott said they would help me get my refund but they have not.
There is no phone number or address listed for getaroom. I can find numbers to make a reservation but not a phone number to request a refund.

Cancellation policy, scammed
Now I know what happened to me is not new with Getaroom. After just reading the complaints on file I see that this company is in the habit of taking your full payment immediately from your credit card and will not allow you to cancel your reservation. I thought I was on the hotel's reservation site and booked my stay. I have no idea how I was connected to Getaroom, I'd never heard of this company until my problem arose. I received a confirmation from what appeared to be the hotel I booked with. As time went on I had to cancel my reservation. I called the hotel and they canceled my reservation and emailed me the confirming cancellation. I thought everything was fine until I reviewed my credit card statement and saw the charge of 514.21 and NO credit! I finally figured out that Gertaroom booked my reservation, not the hotel. I called Getaroom and could not talk to a human. The recorded message stated to call the hotel directly with any issues... I feel that I have been misled and scammed. I want my money back. No where to contact getaroom.com which works
I booked through what I thought was the Holiday Inn in Birmingham UK on Wednesday 23 March and when I received the confirmation it was with getaroom.com. As it happens I have to cancel for medical reasons, so I tried to contact getaroom.com but none of the online helps work and as I live in Europe I would have to pay a fortune to ring and ask for my money back. I paid for full cancellation. Not only that but the Holiday Inn don't have my reservation anyway. I am also trying through their Facebook page but so far no reply. If I don't get satisfaction soon I am going to plaster Facebook with a warning about Getaroom.com being a con.

Hotel reservation/cancellation
I booked the Super 8 Wyndham hotel at Mount Hope, Ontario. Dates are for check in on Monday April 04, 2022. When I booked I did not know that we were dealing with this website since this was the phone number on the Super 8 website. We thought we booked with the hotel directly until I received a confirmation in US $.
Due to an emergency trip to Europe for serous illness' of a sibling I had to cancel and would like to receive a refund or defer to another date. After first dealing with an automated voice mail I finally talked to a real person. I was informed that it was non refundable. They cancelled my reservation even though I did not ask them to cancel it. I had no chance to ask questions. Was told that is their policy (was not made aware of that up front). I have to come up with a note from the hospital or doctor that I was needed in Europe. Please be aware with whom you book. I will certainly not deal with this company ever again. I hope this can be refunded.

Deceiving booking practices
I tried booking the Holiday Inn in Green Bay by what I thought was the direct website for the hotel that came up on Google. When I got the confirmation email I discovered it was actually a third party website. I tried to call get a room and the automated system kept disconnecting and when I got to another menu there was no option to talk to customer service. They have a no refund policy so when offering to cancel I would still be charged in full. I called the hotel and they could not cancel or reject the reservation. I would not have booked if I had known I was not booking directly with the hotel and instead being charged exorbitant fees. They say they offer a best rate guarantee but will not give any information on that.
Desired outcome: Cancel reservation or price match. Clear disclosure that you are not booking with the hotel directly and they are a third party site.
I was told $111 and charged $620.94
On March 20th 2022 I reserved a room in Bali for four nights for $111.
Then I was charged $620.40.
I called within minutes and was told that they would cancel the reservation for a fee of $620.40.
I told them that I only agreed to pay the $111 for the 4 nights, but there was no understanding.
The only option that was offered to me was to cancel the reservation for the full cost of $620.40
I have attached the screenshot showing the agreed price of $111 for the 4 nights.

Made a reservation for two rooms for two nights starting on Friday July 29th at the Kimpton Hotel in Santa Barbara online because I found a good rate. After making the reservation I noticed on my receipt there was a $1500.00 adder on top of the room rate! I canceled the reservation within 20 minutes of making it and was told that there would be no refund! I have contacted American Express and let them know about this policy.

I book with who I thought was The Bevy HOtel in Boerne, TX..for March 17th through 19th 2022, I called the Bevy hotel to cancel my reservation on March 14th, 2022, they did not know anything about my reservation. They told me to contact getaroom.com, when I went online, I cancelled my reservation on March 14, 2022, they took money from my bank account on March 15, 2022 to the tune of $559.61, I called the 800 number and no answer for getaroom. Incorrect date on two room reservations.
On 2/4/22 I booked 2 reservations at the Sheraton Hotel at the Windsor Locks airport in CT. Your automatic calendar made two errors and the rooms were booked for 2/4/22 and 3/10/22, neither of which were correct. The correct dates would have corresponded with my daughters days of travel which were 3/1/22 and 3/9/22. I didn't realize the mistake until the night of 3/1/22 when my daughter was headed to the airport and I called to confirm her reservation for that evening and there wasn't one.
I have my American Express itinerary validating the day I reserved her flights and I recall that use of your automatic calendar was problematic. I am writing to request a refund foe both incorrect reservations which were charged to my AmEx account.

Refund not received
Spoke to James today and he stated my refund was approved and processed on March 5, 2022 and I needed to get with my bank for details. I called my bank and checked my account and there has been no transaction. I called back and spoke with Joe Santana who stated the approval was released on March 5, 2022 and that it would take about 5 business day and I needed to get with my bank. Today is March 17th more than 5 business days and we show no transaction. After putting me on hold a couple of times, he came back and said I had opened a dispute with my bank and now it will take up to 90 days to process! WTHECK! I asked him for all the details about the apparant dispute and he said "you opened the dispute with your bank on March 3rd, 2022!" THIS MAKES NO SENSE! If I opened the dispute on March 3rd (which by the way my bank has no record of any dispute) then how were the funds supposedly released on March 5th? I need answers and I need my refund! Next stop is BBB and a lawyer.

I see from the other comments/complaints that Getaroom.com frequently uses an additional estimation fee to bump up their profits. They did this to me as well, charging me an additional $500+ dollars over the posted room rental fees in and then keeping the difference. Then they respond to the complaint by pointing out their disclaimer which they know is not read by most people booking through them. They also make you think you are dealing directly with the hotel. ITS THIER WAY OF PLAYING A SHELL GAME TO RIP YOU OFF! BEWARE OF THIS SITE.

I made a reservation for a room at Holiday Inn Express in Berea, Ky for March 15th, 2022 . #R3189213736. The site said in big red letters Free Cancellation! It was for a renunion of my husband's Vet Nam buddies. Something came up that made it impossible to attend. I called on March 9th to cancel the reservation but was told I could not get my money back because I should have called on March 8th. I paid $144.01 for a room that I could not use and made it possible for them to book the room to someone else. I called the motel and was told there was nothing they could do because it was made through a third party. He also said that Price Line was the parent company which is shocking because I thought they were a legitimate company. I just want my $144.01 back!

I went online, while a passenger in a car, to find a room asap for a relative. I looked up Holiday Inn & went to their "book online" tab. Some how I ended up on "get a room.com" & didn't realize it until I processed my request. First, they got the request wrong. I was looking for 3 nights & wanted to find what the cost would be, but the website asks you to put in your credit card # b4 you proceed, so I did. Then it confirmed that I wanted 5 nights & charged my card for $939.73! I was shocked & called them. The cust serv girl sounded like a broken record saying I agreed to the rate & number of days. I explained I obviously made a mistake & would like 3 nights versus 5. She would only repeat "they were bound by the contract & could not change it"! She said this 5-7 times! Unbelievable! Then she offered 10% off! I kept explaining that I only needed it for 3. Then I decided to cancel the reservation completely. She said they "had no way to cancel the reservation." I tried to tell her that the recording says "cancel" & she would butt in & began her repetitious dialogue. I told her this site was a scam & I would report it!
