Golden Corral Review: Poor Quality Food, Bad Service, and Unsanitary Conditions
I recently visited Golden Corral and I have to say, it was not a good experience. I've written reviews before, but on October 21st, 2015, I was told to stay away from the place. The manager threatened me with slander if I wrote any more negative reviews. But I couldn't help myself, the food was just so bad. It was cold and the quality was poor. The staff wasn't very helpful either. Half the time, they were nowhere to be found and when they were around, they didn't seem interested in helping customers.
The restaurant was also in bad shape. The stack of dishes was piled up for weeks and the bathroom was always dirty. Some of the managers were okay, but others were just plain rude. They barked orders at the staff and didn't seem to care about the customers. The new GM wasn't much better than the old one. There was a hole in the rug for four months and the tiles in the ceiling were not fixed for months. There was even black mold that was just painted over with white paint. And to top it off, there were bugs in the store and black flies all over the place.
The only good thing about Golden Corral was the pies, cokes, cakes, and ice. But even then, it wasn't worth the trouble. The food was often out on the salad bar and it was hot and bare. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It's just not worth the money or the hassle.
Disappointing Experience at Golden Corral: Limited Food Selection and Poor Buffet Maintenance
I recently visited Golden Corral after a long hiatus of 15 years. My last visit was at the Whitehall Pa location, and I was curious to see if anything had changed. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience this time around.
Firstly, the price for dinner was quite steep at $16.99, and an additional $3.99 for a beverage. I felt that this was overpriced, especially considering the limited selection of food available. There were only four types of chicken, brats, one type of fish, meatloaf, and ham. The side dishes were also quite limited, with only seven options available. The salad bar was decent, but the dessert selection was a disaster. There were only four different types of desserts available, and the cake was all smashed up.
To make matters worse, the buffet bar was not well-maintained, with food drippings all over it. The dessert bar was even worse, with a lack of cleanliness and organization. However, I must say that the dining area was clean and well-kept.
In conclusion, I was not impressed with my recent visit to Golden Corral. I would advise anyone planning to visit a buffet to inspect the food selection and cleanliness of the buffet before deciding to pay and eat there.
Disappointing Roast Beef at Golden Corral: A Regular Customer's Feedback
I've been a regular at Golden Corral for quite some time now, and I have to say that the roast beef is one of my favorite dishes. However, I've noticed that the meat is always cooked to well done, which is a bit disappointing. I usually visit this restaurant three times a week with my family, and for the last eight times, the roast beef has been cooked to medium well before it's even served on the buffet line.
I spoke with Jeff, one of the managers, about this issue, and he advised me to write about it on the website. I spend around $1000 a month at this restaurant, and it's frustrating to see that they don't seem to care about their customers' opinions. The protocol for cooking the roast beef is supposed to be medium rare before it's put on the line, and it cooks more under the lamps. However, this Golden Corral seems to be cooking the meat well done on purpose, which is a shame.
I understand that the more people they seat, the more money they make, but if the meat is overcooked, no one wants to eat it. It's a sorry way to do business, Golden Corral. I've mentioned this issue every time I've visited this month, which is eight times, but there hasn't been any change. The meat is grey in color and severely overcooked, which is not how it's supposed to be.
I hope that Golden Corral takes this feedback seriously and fixes the issue with their roast beef. It's a shame to see such a great restaurant not living up to its potential because of a simple issue like this. I'll continue to visit this restaurant, but I hope to see some changes soon.

Cold food. Clam chowder always out. Nothing done. It's a constant thing. I'm done. The soup is either cold or out. Fried chicken always out. For months. Not days one time I ask for my money back. The manager was very nice and said it was on her. While I was going through the line another manager approached me and said if I didn't pay I didn't eat. I eat at the early bird senior special. They run out of clam chowder almost every day and it's cold most days. Recently a manager told me I was the only one that complained. Later one of the workers said that was not true. As you can tell by your complaints is far from true. Hire me as a shopper. I've done it for showneys. You need something. These people have the same problems over and over.
Desired outcome: Situation fixed and something done. It's the same thing everyday. Basically I usually find something but something's happen everyday. Some people aren't doing their job.

Me and my family were at the Golden Corral for dinner on Christmas Day 2022. I got up to get some napkins, and there was a wrinkle in the carpet, and I fell and broke my hip. I was hospitalized for a week. I still have pain from the fall. I would appreciate it if golden Corral would pay my hospital bill, and doctor bills, and pay me for my paid and suffering.

Sounds like my problem. My family and I are white also. My family and I have been customers since 2012, when Old Country Buffet closed in Bensalem. We supported the restaurant during the recent pandemic, continuing our weekly Friday visits. On June 2, 2023, we arrived at the Street Road restaurant in Bensalem, paid our bill and waited to be seated. My family consists of 3 adults (2 seniors, 1 adult). My mother is confined to a wheelchair. Due to the size of the wheelchair, we favor sitting at a larger table. A table for 4 is too small. The restaurant was maybe 45% full. The hostess (a young black woman) sat us at a table for 4. The table we usually sit at was not occupied and we requested it. She said "NO, SIT HERE!" I told her that it was too small and would not comfortably accommodate the wheelchair. She ignored me. I told her I would have to leave. She said "GO". I handed her my receipt and asked her to start the refund, until I was able to turn my Mom's wheelchair around and get to the register. She then started screaming at me and belittling me in front of all the other customers and refused to help me. I was in the last dining room. It became so bad that one of the wait staff that we know from Old Country Buffet helped me by taking the receipt to the front. She continued screaming at us, through the restaurant, from the last dining room to the register. It didn't stop there. She continued retelling the story to a young man who has also been assigned as host. I requested to see the manger. He refunded the money, but said nothing to comment on her actions. She has ended our weekly relationship with your restaurant. I am considering filing a complaint with the Bensalem police for elder abuse.
Errors in rewards service and recent denial of a gift card use blaming connection to GC heasdquarters GC headquarters
Friday Feb 24 I went to use a gift card and was told that the register could not make contact with GC for acceptance. Then my receipt for that day was not recognized. Entering it again it said must wait two to acknowledge. But it has never done so. I wrote three emails to resolve this and never received a response. Calling GC does not allow me to speak with anyone.

The salad dressing looked so old as it was not stirred in hours. I witnessed many workers on their phones hanging around not doing a thing. I could not even use the bathroom as is smelled so bad and was so dirty. I actually didnt wind up eating my dinner due to the conditions of the restaurant. We were so dissapointed..They had cleared out all the breakfast things which I love to have biscuits and gravy. The fish was almost gone...no mushrooms and OKRA...my favorite! To say the least it was not a good meal since so many things were missing! Also the ice Cream machine was not working...which has happened numerous times when we have been there...Can't you get it fixed for good?We were gone in less than 40 minutes!

I visited a Golden corral in Rochester New York with four adults one child on February 26th around 2:00 I think it was the employees are very rude first of all handicap parking area for handicap was covered in ice was not cleaned off very icy checking in at the register she didn't know what she was doing I had to have some refund on my soda done because you charged me for soda when I had water the soda machine was broken they couldn't figure out anything we get to a table it was filthy that they wanted us to sit at the waitresses were very very rude when I went to get up to get my food the people behind the counter mind you I don't matter to me but they didn't speak English but the girl dragged her towel through the food and didn't care my phone number is [protected] and I spent over $100 to eat and it was not worth it there was not a variety of food there was barely anything there on this thing ready I'd rather eat it Syracuse Golden corral which is has a much cleaner spacious for their diners

I have given up trying to eat your steaks because they are too tough. I am pretty sure you buy the lowest grade beef and that is why they are tough, unlike the Texas Road House's steaks. Also you keep cutting out salad bar entrees like grapefruit sections and bean salad which I looked for. Can you improve on these?

I am a customer as well and I just want to comfort Mr. D. Vivone by saying, if it devastates your family to such an extent, you might want to consider small claims court. My opinion, even though it's not asked for, is that your situation seems kinda personal considering the fact that the manager texted your phone with such insults or harassments. I'm pretty sure corporate didnt give him or her your contact information when one of the allegations is against this individual.
There is your proof right there for court. Very tangible evidence in your phone. I'm not a lawyer or an attorney, but I guess I watch too much television that gives me at least a little bit of sense. No pun intended!
This comment goes to Mrs. Brainard, what a wonderful name you have, very different if I must say, I don't mean to come off as a sarcastic individual who just insists on trying to belittle anyone or make them feel some type of way. Everyone on this Earth needs a little advice, encouragement, or something of the sort at some point in their lives including myself. I may have gotten a little carried away when I mentioned the having a bit of sense in my last comment to the other victim (correct me if I'm wrong). I just love to see happy customers, families and individuals, in the vicinity wherever I may leisurely place myself at/in. It just makes the environment more pleasurable for everyone, including the ones who may have a little deficiency in the patience/humbleness/consideration/understanding/positive vibe-energy(intellectualadvancedaura) dept. But to the point on your unpleasant horrific encounter at this seemingly downright need to be torn down dungeon. Did you really calm yourself down before typing your issue because it kinda seems as if your trying to pull what people would call "the sympathy card", in other words, you probably shouldn't start your review/complaint off with such information that had little to do with what led to your dissatisfaction. As a matter of fact, that probably should've been the main reason as to why you wouldn't want to be there, given the fact that your husband who "IS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND GETTING READY TO HAVE ""❤️❤️❤️"" SURGERY! Something very serious! I'm not a surgeon or anything but I could almost bet my life that they would be very disappointed to be reading this complaint right now because, your the wonderful wife that comforts her husband as he rests for the few hours he needed to before such a major surgery and if I'm not mistaken, he probably was informed or directed to not eat heavy portions or in fact have anything on his stomach at all. NPO nothing by mouth. Oh by the way I'm just a CNA. But anyways you stated first that "there were few tables that were not dirty, then you stated in the next paragraph, that you "explained that there were no clean tables" to the waitress. I'm confused! I mean I'm really not trying to be an a-hole but my gosh y'all should really proofread what situation your complaining about when typing, writing, or verbalizing, but then I guess y'all rubbed off on me because you can't proofread it when your verbalizing it unless your trying to get your story straight. Three last things I want to comment on is that the waitress (seemingly victim here) seemed to be disappointed because that is what she gets paid for is to clean the tables and serve the customers correctly by greeting them, seating them and making them feel comfortable in a clean eating area, that area could have possibly needed to be cleaned for a reserved party getting ready to come in! What was the rush your husband was already seated, he is/was the person that is/was ill at the time ( I hope his surgery went well, no sarcasm), so what was the rush? The camera mention is awkward because why would the victim state anything about being scared of the camera? That's a little backwards. Just saying...the last thing I want to say is the way you mentioned "the stick up the butt" only presents to your audience of jurors what category your character aligns with when judging it. They don't have to prejudge because you put it out there young lady! Just be careful how you word your complaints whenever your serious about getting workers at a business in trouble because those kind of allegations could get them into some serious legal matters and look very awful on the entire company as a whole. But what do I know I'm just a CNA. Could be the (CrazyNationAssociation-notreal).
My husband and I went to Golden Corral in Taylor, Mi tonight. My husband is having heart surgery tomorrow morning and we thought it would be a way of taking some time just for us.
There were few tables that were not dirty. We waited to be seated, but no one came so we seated ourselves.
My husband is in a wheel chair and he picked a table that was out of the way. He went to get his food while I stayed at the table. The server that was working that section came to the table and started yelling at me because we sat at a dirty table. I explained that there were no clean tables. She call me a liar in that there were plenty of clean tables and places to sit. She got louder and bossier so I got mad. I ask for a manager and after a while a very nice woman and the server came to the table. I told the manager about the attitude
this woman had with me. I told her I had used a napkin to wipe the table and the server said no I didn't it was already there. She told the manager to check the camera. What am I supposed to be afraid of the camera. I am 71 years old and have never been treated with such disrespect. She did not clear one plate from our table or ask if she could refill our empty pop glasses. The manager had to get us some silver ware because she did not bring us any.
It is a real shame that this person had a stick so far up her butt and she was going to take it out on us.
We will not go back to this golden corral, because the service and disrespect is awful.

I have been trying to get someone to contact from Golden Corral for months. I have called and let messages, no response. I have sent emails, no response.
This is my issue. I believe I sent an email on February 20th and left a voice message in regard to my issue, with no response.
I received my birthday coupon and went to the Golden Corral in Duluth, Ga. Now I am just one person, regrettably I had no friends and family to help me celebrate on that day.
So, the manager, advised me if I wanted to use the coupon, I would have to eat both meals in the restaurant. To me this was unreasonable, not everyone has family and friends. I know pathetic, right.
The point is, I feel that the coupon should be amended to dine in or take out. Also, I felt this was entirely ridiculous, since without a coupon, I could get take out meals, which I have done on many occasions spending any where between $30 to $65 dollars. Of course, I ended up leaving very disappointed.
Desired outcome: For someone at Golden Corral to acknowledge the concern and make it right.
Food and bath rooms
On Dec 1 of this year My husband and I decided we like to go to the Golden Corral for just the soup and salad bar.
We were not happy for what we saw. First the soup was terrible the onion soup was so big with onions we had to cut the onions so we could eat it.
The tomato was so thick my husband could not eat it.
The buffalo soup look like it was left over from 2 days ago.
The noodle soup was pretty good.
Now my biggest complaint was I decided to go to the bath room and my goodness that was so bad.
The toilets were so dirty I went over to the sink and found a toilet bush and cleaned you toilets. To me that was very unsanitary.
There was toilet paper all over the floor and no soap was available to clean your hands and they were all out of paper towels
Now the dessert bar was even worse the spoons were in the pudding and they were so dirty and sticky to use. There were no cookies no pie or even good cakes. The ice cream station was so soft you put some of it on a plate and it was melted tell you got back to your table.
As for the staff they were very nice.
The price we had to pay was not worth what we got.

Employee and management mistreatment
I am writing in reference to a disreptful, potentially discriminatory treatment that I received during my visit to your Morristown, TN store on 11/21/2022 around 2:06 pm.
I visited their store for lunch at 1 41 pm on 11/21/2022. Finished my lunch around 2:05 pm. During my visit no server visited my table from beginning to the end. However, before I left the table, a server, named Theresa approached near my table turning her head other way asking the guests at the table if they needed anything else. Then she suddenly turned to me asking me if I needed more water. I told her I was done with my lunch. She was too late to ask me such a question. I still left a symbolic tip and left.. I complained about her behavior to the shift manager, who happens to a lady. She didn't listen to my all complaints and left.
I have been a loyal Golden Corral customer over 25 years and have never seen such a rude, inconsiderate and care free behavior. at that magnitude.
