Hertz lied to. discriminated against due to age. reduced to tears. treated unfairly.

Had a reservation at Hertz on Gibson Rd. In Henderson, NV for June 28 because my vehicle needed body work due to an accident. Was picked up at the body shop by Hertz. Driver also picked up another customer, then drove to rental office, approximately 8:10 AM. Was told cars not available currently. Waiting for oil changes. Would be in shortly. Gave all information needed to clerk to rent vehicle when it became available. Was offered a very large truck, but being about 5'1", not able to drive this vehicle safely. Lady brought in with me taken to back, gone within a short time after we arrived. Watched 3 or 4 more parties come in and get rentals. Kept being told we're waiting for cars being serviced. At one time told we're waiting for cars to be turned in. Was also told for the first time that since I was an insurance customer Iwas not first in line. This was the first time I knew about this, and asked why hadn't I been told this before? At this time I was given some flimsy excuse, and was rededuced to tears at the treatment I was receiving which I thought was because of my age. They were taking advantage of me because they thought I would not complain. The next time I asked when I would get a car was told the first excuse-waiting for cars to be serviced. I got very angry then, and yelled at them to just get me a car. Very shortly after that I got a car. Since it was over 3 hours or more since I had first arrived. I was told the paperwork had to be completed again. I was very upset, and threw a piece of paper at the clerk's keyboard-not at her, but the keyboard! Then everyone was hollering at me. I think they thought sine I am almost 72, they could take advantage of me. It was a terrible experience!

Hertz renting a car in venice city

On Tuesday June the 20th, as part of a business trip, I arrived with take a car that was reserved for me at the Herz office in Venice (not at the airport).

Since I am an IBM employee the reservation done by the IBM travel agent was with IBM rate.
I was asked to show my IBM ID card. I did not know I had to produce it and did not have it. I was answered that without this IBM ID card, I could not obtain IBM rates.
I shown my laptop which was marked as an IBM property, they said that this could not help.
I asked if I could use their internet wifi to contact my secretary. They said they could not help with that.
My chance was that I could manage to connect through my cellular (which is not always working abroad). My secretary sent an image of my IBM id card. They refused to accept it because that image did not show my IBM employee ID number. My secretary had to work for one full hour to order a new tag for me and send its image.
At 12:22, the agency manager told me that in 8 minutes they close the office and that I'd better conclude by then. I was still waiting for the ID badge...
I finally got my IBM ID image at 12:35 or 12:40 which concluded (almost) the ordeal.
I then signed the forms to obtain the car. I was told that I signed that the car had no scratch. When I saw the car, it saw that on the contrary it had one small one + one big one! My luck was that I could caught the office employee on the fly to have this changed in the papers.
My fellow IBM employee who took his car from Trieste exactly the same day, told me that he was not even asked for his IBM ID card!
It is clear to me that this ordeal was intended to have me pay the full rental rate (270 Euros instead of 120). I lost one hour and a half in this process and it was most unpleasant.

I had a reservation that was made by my AAA to pick up 2 vehicles on Saturday June 17 I had come in on Friday evening to verify everything was correct I was told by your coworker to be there on Saturday to pick my vehicles up at 12 noon when I got there at 12:03 everything was locked up I tried contacting someone to help me my family was going to Disney I called your hertz line they were no help I know you close but they did have my number they knew I was coming they could have called me to see if I was coming poor customer services if you close at 12noon you should not have a reservation time at 12noon I have emailed Mr Spivey the area manager and left him a message with no response I will never rent from Hertz and I will let everyone I know about my awful experience I had the best experience from Enterprise even though I had to drive an hour to pick up 2 vehicles so my family could have a great time in Disney

Hertz customer service representative at location

On 6/20/2017, at Radisson Hotel 135-30 140th Street Jamaica NY Hertz location. I as the renter was verbally and physically threatened in the office by the staff. I was then offered to go outside to physically fight the staff member. I in turn contacted the NYC Police fearing for my safety. Police arrived and addressed the matter which resulted in reviewing video footage and witnesses. I would appreciate a thorough investigation and a follow up with me concerning this complaint. Hertz rental charges

Car in an accident on June 9th and my insurance company set us up with a rental from Hertz. I usually go through Enterprise as they pick up. Because of my insurance company being willing to set all things Hertz was fine. You walk in show identification and card to hold deposit and out. Insurance company has already made is clear that no insurance needed. Well my 19 year old daughter already shaken from her first accident was taken advantage of and tricked into additional coverage because she was told she had to choose from three options. She said is it free and let me have you speak to my parents. The agent told her no need that he just put her down for the basic. She asked again is that free. No one went over cost per day ECT as she only had a debit card and merely 250 dollars in her account. She found her account empty and she has been struggling. I called corporate and it was agreed that they needed the car returned and that they would take the hold off her funds in two to three business days. Insurance company gave her a new order and she even got to keep the same car. I called today and agent 2294 at corporate and he reversed things and refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I was upset bet I did not give up. I called back and spoke to someone else who resolved the matter and returned the 280 dollars to my daughters account. So Dean the manager at the Omaha Nebraska location and agent 2294 at corporate lost me as a Hertz's customer but Cindy agent 0259 has gain my loyalty for I will rent with Hertz's. I want Dean and that other person to know that they were only looking at that one time 280 dollars and now Cindy has gotten way more because I will continue to use Hertz's and not go back to Enterprise or other renal companies. Thank you Cindy and the other agent that helped me, but SHAME ON DEAN AND AGENT 2294.

Hertz kia sedona

Picked-up car at NYC 55th and is new in Newport, RI. The car has a faulty key/locking system. It is not possible to lock car when engine is turned off, but works obviously after an engine power cycle. However, the trunk/rear door can not be locked at all which is really annoying when leaving the car, especially at night. Never had problems with Hertz cars before, but this one is really a bad one.

Hertz car rent in rome, termini station

On June 24 2017, I rented a car from Hertz at termini station Rome.
1. The front interior was cleaned but the back seats and the baggage compartment were filthy! I noticed that only when I left and didn't have time to return and replace it.
Shame on you
2. The clerck opened the station ten minuts ! late
3. Although In the reservation I had included emrgency assistance, the cleck told me that I in case of need I will have to call a tow truck and pay for it myself. She insisted that Only for additional 171 euro I will be given emergency assistance from Hertz, although I showed her the wrriten cintent of the contract I had printed.
I'm traveling with children and didn't want to take chances + I was late because the station opened late, so I purchased the additional emergency assistance.
4. The rear light was broken and glued with duck tape, but the clerk didn't marked until I insisted that he will. Shame shame.
I demand to be reimbursed for this wrongful 171 euro charge and for having to clean the car by myself, before loading my kids and baggage .

Hertz wrongful credit card charge

Reference:

Rental Office: Bucharest Henry Coanda International Airport, Romania
Rental Date: April 27, 2017
Rental Agreement [protected] (attached Picture 3 & 4)
Vehicle: Ford Focus, License Plate "B 51 DLA", mileage 95, 000 km

Facts:

At pickup, neither the clerk at the desk nor the attendant in the garage was able to specify the type of fuel for the respective vehicle. I called the next day, but nobody was able to give me this information either.

There was no label indicating the fuel type on the key-tag (Pictures 1 & 2) or in or on the car.

When I needed to refuel the car, I asked the gas station attendant to inspect the car and determine the type of fuel (gasoline or Diesel). He did so but guessed wrong, and fueled the car with gasoline. I was able to drive to the hotel, then the engine did not start any more.

The Hertz employee who took over the car was aware that I had not been informed of the type of fuel at pick-up, and made a note to that effect in the Vehicle Condition Report (attached Picture 4).

The transliteration in Romanian language of the official report written by the Hertz employee is:
"A fost alimentata full benzina / Nu a primit informatii la pickup in privinta
combustibilului."

The English translation of this report is:
"It was fueled with gasoline in full / Did not receive information at pickup
regarding the fuel type."

In doing so, the Hertz representative took responsibility for the incident and admitted in writing the irregularity committed by the rental office.

However my credit card was charged 546.39 Euros (CAD $867.45).

This seems to be an abusive overcharge meant to hide negligence and irregularities at the Bucharest Airport Rental Office. However it could be just clerical error since the Hertz representative admitted in writing the mistake committed by the rental office (Picture 4).

In any case I am demanding the reimbursement of the unjustified charge of CAD $867.45 on the ground that the incident was clearly caused by the Hertz personnel.

Hertz reservation problem

Called over a week ago call hertz at 3241 Franklin ave Midland, Texas 79706, I go to call them to be sure the rental is ready whoever I talked to told me they didn't even have the rental I reserved ! then they weren't doing personal rentals out only to people who have damaged their own vehicle . After that I proceed to tell her then why would they even make that reservation for me ? if they didn't have couldn't rent it out, she then tells me management said they couldn't rent out any vehicle . I don't understand why would they tell me over a week ago that they could, when I go call today and I got told they couldn't do it ...

Hertz car rental

I rented a car at Newark Airport on june 20th 2017. I was charged 293.00 for a 4 day rental and was to return the car on the 23rd . The reason i traveled was to see a very ill sibling. The sibling passed away while i was here. I made the funeral arrangements which required me to stay until June 24th. I contacted Hertz to explain that i needed to extend my rental to june 24th (23 hours more) i sas advised that i would be charged 252.00 for the additional 23 hours. I thought it was a mistake but realized they are serious. That is ridiculous. No more Hertz for this traveler.

Hertz toll fee

2 wks ago, I want to New York and orlando, and I rented a car from Hertz for both places through priceline which I paid when I reserved. Beside the rude desk person, I returned the car without any problem in New York until today. I got an text from my credit card that Hertz charged me another $22.85 for toll. I was surprised bc I paid cash everywhere I went (almost $60)
So I called Hertz to dispute the charge.
Hertz said, there is one place I visited has no cash toll line. So they charged me automatically 3 days toll and service fee. They also said if I read the agreement from priceline, I would know about it.
First of all, they never explained me about the toll process. Second, If there is no cash line for that place, all new Yorkers have some kind of toll pass. Last, why they charged for 3 days. $22.85 may not be a lot of money, I could just move on... But I really think this is wrong...
(I didn't even complained the rental car I used in Orlando. There were gazillion bugs in the rental car. Four of my family got bug bites everywhere. My husband developed allergy reaction to that bug bites.)
I don't know what other people think, however, I never have a problem when I used Alamo or enterprise.

Hertz car rental

I prepaid $50.00 for a rental on may 21 2017 and when i landed at Charleston airport the agent at the desk tried to run my card and she said that Hertz can't process my card. I asked could try it again i already prepaid for this car. She refused to try again and asked me for another card. i told her this is the only card i had. She then told me she couldn't help me any further. i told her i wanted my $50.00 back that i had paid already. She told me we will return it in 3-5 business days. after this 45 min issue i went to one of your competitors and had no problem with my card. i will never use your company again.

Hertz renting a car in frankfurt airport

dear sir/ms

i would like to inform you that your german office in frankfurt is not less then corrupted business which misleading his costumer on purpose to deals they never got into. adding criminal behavior, while trying to empty your costumer bank accounts without being informed and in contradiction to everything said and written.

the web is full with stories like this and beside being reviewed as the lowest customer service company, you are getting serious risk in having class action, which im willing to take ahead in case ill have to, after having your management oficial respond.

shortly, i made a reservation with carrental company and the total amount of the deal was less than 1, 900 euro. when picking up the car, by the advise of one of your crew member, i agreed adding to the deal full coverage insurance and the total amount of the deal was signed for 2, 697 euro.
since then, your company was (and still!), trying to made more then 10 times charges on my credit card for 10, 000 euro! the total amount claimed is 4-5 times more then agreed.

i made so many emails and phone calls for them but they insist on that amount claiming the deal and price was made for one month only (?)
i would like to send you the hole correspondence and documents if you please send me your email address. you will be able to learn much more about the case from those.
very shortly and without giving up any other claim and/or rights - our trip is ruin, we are having stress that no one can make us up for, and i havent mention other failures been made.
its a shame to your company and it's reputation.

if you attend to try and solve this, please do so as fast as possible since time is crucial and i have to decide how to go on from here.

Complaint against an employee at Hertz, Frankfurt am Main, Airport

Earlier today, September 10, at 3:00pm, we returned our rental car to the garage at FRA Airport. There was a lot of construction going on at the airport and it took us approximately one hour to find the rental car return, driving through the parking area several times, and being stuck in traffic for a long time. The directing signs to the car rental return were either missing or confusing. Needless to say, we were happy to finally find the HERTZ rental desk in the garage.
After checking in the car, Mr. Costal stated that our gas tank was not full, and if we wanted to go to the gas station to fill up. I told him that had been very difficult and time consuming to find the return for the rental car in the first place and that the directions to the rental return were missing or not well done.
He disagreed and said that the signs were very easy to follow, and repeated again if we wanted to fill up the car near the airport; he was going to show us where. I told him that we were trying to tell him that we did not want to go back up into the traffic again.
At this point, he suddenly flung the receipt at me and it landed at my feet. I was appalled and asked him who he thought he was. He screamed “[censored] You” at me. We left this man who was obviously out of control, in shock and bewilderment.
In short, Mr. Da Costa should not be allowed to be in direct contact with customers. If any of my employees behaved in this manner with our clients, they would be joining the unemployment line in no time. This is even more true for a service-oriented company like HERTZ.

Hertz rental/refund

I reserved the car on June 6th 2017. I took a trip with my family to San Diego California. My reservation said that I could just go to the desk to get my reserved car. When I got there the employee told me that I needed a second form of ID which I provided. He then told me that he would have to run a credit check and order for me to receive the car. He then proceeded to tell me that I could not rent a car from Hertz. I asked about a refund and he told me that it would be added back to my account. I called back the next morning just to confirm and was told that it would take 10 business days for my refund to appear. Today June 20th 2017 I called back because I did not get a refund into my account. I was then told that it would take 5 to 7 business days for my refund to be in my account. The representative then told me that the refund was processed five days ago and that I should give it five days. This is put me in a bind because I do have bills. None of this makes sense to me because I feel that the refund should have been in my account and that I was misled. Because of this I will never rent from Hertz. I will also let everyone I know, know what has happened.

Good luck with that. I rented a car through Ins. they took my CC never told me they were charging 200.00 on it. Then when I was getting the car I was told that I can't use my own ins that I have to take theirs. Called corp office, they refunded my money but then a few days later there was a charge for 249.00 before I could call the next day there was a charge for almost 500.00 I called the office where I got the car and he couldn't find my account when I told him to go under the ins. co. he put me on hold for 10 min then transferred me to voicemail. I called back and they closed. I called corporate again and they refunded my money. I used their EZ Pass for a 5.00 toll they charged me 40.00 back to Corporate I go. Hope you get your money soon... Never again, Enterprise is the way to go!

Hertz car rental

Worst car rental agency ever. I rented a vehicle three weeks in advance, they day I went to pick up the vehicle, they did not have a vehicle available. I was simply [censor] out! I have since faxed over my receipt from Enterprise, of which I had to pay double the amount for last minute, but at least they had vehicles available. I have been emailing back and forth with a Jennifer Galvin, who refuses to give me her contact number, but tells me a week later that she has not received my fax. This is an incompetent company. No sense of customer service whatsoever. I will never use this service again. There is no urgency, to ensure the satisfaction of their customers. DO NOT USE HERTZ.

Hertz rental

This has been an absolute nightmare. I began to book a reservation for hours when all the numbers in my area would ring yet no one would pick up the phone. Then I got ahold of someone on the 800 number and she told me to call another one to get my vehicle. Said they had a 7 person van. I call that number and they don't even do rentals. Only insurance claims. Then I call again and a guy was pretty helpful reserved my car and told me it was at the airport. I got today to get my car at the airport and it wasn't there it was reserved at an entirely different location. Then I get to that other location and my car is here and has been since 830 am. I got here at 10:30 to take it and they hadn't even cleaned it yet. So now it's 11:10 on my birthday mind you, and I'm having to wait again to get it so they can clean it. On top of it the guy told me he would vacuum it. I said are you going to wash the outside too I mean it had bird mess all over it and he acted like it was an inconvenience. This has been the worst experience ever. I don't feel that 1/2 the people I have even called today on the 800 even cares. They acted like it was no big deal. I am so not happy! And I've never used hertz before, always enterprise, and with the way this has gone I don't think I ever will.

Hertz having my car repaired

Having my car repaired my insurance set me up with Hertz, I recieved a call from Hertz, . They set me up with one Hertz dealer, then git a call from the office, and they set me up with another Hertz, then when I call they said they could not pick me up so I need to call the other office, but the corporate office told me they would pick me up, but the very rude employee said no, they don't have anyone to pick me up, I said I was told by corporate that they were the closest to my repair shop and you would pick me up, no said the employee and got even more rude with me. Finally the other office called me and was very nice and will pick me up, I just want to know if the head doesn't know what the [censor] is doing with this company?

Hertz hertz car rental

I rented a car through my company from June 6-16 . I returned the car to hertz at 3:00am the representative on site to me to park the car in the car return pavilion and leave the keys in the car. My receipt would be emailed to me. I called Hertz 5 times each time I was placed on fooled for 15 min. Eventually I was told that they were having some issues with finding some cars and my receipt would be emailed to me in 15 min. That was yesterday. I called the location back and was told I need to go on Hertz.com and print the receipt. I went on Hertz.com and there is no receipt . When I press the deatails button no information comes up on my transaction. I called the location back and I'm being placed on hold, I'm being transferred to managers phones who are not answering. When I call the location they are not answering the phone even though, its business hrs and there are representatives there, they are not taking my calls. One representative when I asked for the name of the manager on duty she hung up on the phone on me. I will let my employer know. I work with Sodexo, Of the total absence of customer service that Hertz displays towards its customers, and the repugnant attitude displayed by its representatives. This was my first experience with Hertz and it was the worst customer service I ever experienced. To date I have not received a receipt to submit to my employer and I will certainly let everyone in my organization know that maybe it's time to look into finding another rental car company to service our company needs.

Hertz car rental and roadside assistance

Had the worst experience renting a Hertz car this evening! We arrived at hertz to rent a mini van, and was offered our choice out of 2 vans. Both were extremely dirty on the outside with damage (that the workers didn't even notice and needed me to point it out.) One of the mini vans was extremely dirty on the inside and smelled horribly, where the other one had trash in it but didn't smell bad. So we went with that one (as my son has a heart condition and can't be breathing in air that smells musty and smokey.) We started our 6 hour journey, and occasionally felt the car shake while accelerating and braking on the highway (but thought it was the road since it wasn't all the time.) 3 hours into our journey, something fell off from under the car and we drove over it. So we immediately got off the highway and called for assistance. This was at 1:15 am. The roadside assistance company didn't send anyone to come get us until after 4:40 am, after many hours of going back and forth and them offering plans that weren't going to work and refusing to do things to help us out. They even wanted us to get our own taxi and pay for it ourselves. Their exact words were "Hopefully you will get reimbursed for it but you probably won't even find a cab at this time of night anyway." So in what way was that service worker trying to help my family get to another car so we could get back on the road? They ended up agreeing to do (at 4:15 am) what I had first talked to someone about doing at 1:15 (but that idea was shot down by multiple other workers afterwards.) The manager on call at roadside assistance had the audacity to tell me that he disagreed with me when I told him having to sit on the side of the road for almost 4 hours in the middle of the night was a joke. Unbelievably rude and unprofessional. We never made it to our original destination of VA, but my credit card was charged for that hotel anyway. On top of that excess charge, we then had to book a hotel in MD for over $200 for one night so that we could finally get some sleep. By the time we got to the closest hotel at 7 am (after being driven to the closest hertz that had a van for us to use) my 22 month old with a serious heart condition and other metabolic diseases had only had 2 hours of sleep. I was so stressed out that I started having chest pains and had to go to the hospital to be monitored. I've never had that happen before! Our final destination is Florida, for a resort that we paid alot of money for, and we may not even be able to go now because of what happened last night. I have tried calling multiple times to talk to someone, but keep being shuffled to someone else to talk to and have yet to get anywhere productive with anyone.

Hertz rental car fuel fees

I had a rental car from 30 May to 6 Jun 2017, Versa car from BWI. I was free and clear, Gas stated FULL on my checkout receipt, Miles logged for the 7 days. #[protected]. It took me several emails and phone calls to get a charge back to my Credit Card for Fuel.

The one agent I spoke to insisted that I needed a receipt, I filled this Versa up at the Shell Station on Aviation Blvd near BWI and returned full.

Next Agent, stated that they did an Audit after the car was turned in and she state that the meters read not full. It is my job to return the car full, which I did, my checkout was full as well on my receipt. Days later I get another charge on my same credit card for another $21.64 for Fuel. This is a small Versa car which was full. How did they get another fill for $21.64 in such a small car. It's not possible.

I fought this issue on my Friday morning to get this cleared for a few hours. I finally talked to Agent #0904. Miesha and she is finally getting my Credit Card reversed back in the next 5-7 days.

I have spoken to some poor Staff agents regarding this issue. Yes, I had a misplaced receipt, but when my final return receipt states full and miles road for my trip and let free after turn-in, that's the irritating part and getting a charge for not filling the fuel which I know I did.
