Cleveland tennessee hobby lobby store
Cleveland, tenn. Shoppers+employees beware! 😧😯 as a supposed christian owned company, thought this would be an ethical place to work. I thought wrong... The very first day of training I was intimidated by "supervisor john" from reading the employee handbook. Throughout the week, routinely observed employees denied their rest breaks, lunch breaks, and forced to illegally work off of the clock. Stay away from this place as it reeks of corporate corruption+greed+who knows what else? May jesus christ reveal all of what happens at this store location...✨✨🙏✨✨...
Desired outcome: FAIR HONEST WORKING CONDITIONS FOR ALL CHRISTIANS AND PEOPLE IN GENERAL
Customer service
The return policy and online returns is so rigged. Every time I go into the store to request a refund and they tell me I have the option of cash in case I opt out from the store credit but, they always give me store credit. This was a week ago, I have to wait until my items are approved by a manager which is ridiculous since I do present my original receipt. It is not fair I do not properly get my money back which how ever I payed for my purchase. The lines in the store are so long and the associates working are so slow and they should get the training they deserve properly. I always stay in line and wait patiently but I also see other cashiers staying on top of the task while bringing out their customers merchandise while other cashiers take forever holding up the line for other customers more than minutes sometimes. All the registers have a cashier working at each station but the store needs to do something either with the associates but it is extremely overbearing having to deal with such lines every single time I go shopping at hobby lobby. Also, I do not like how the assistant mangers treat their clients one time I witnessed an assistant manager refusing service to help a Spanish speaking client and no other associate in the store couldn't help the customer at that time. No other associate did anything to accommodate his or her needs which was totally unfair and unprofessional that happened at the Hobby Lobby at Pembroke Pines, FL. I always shop at the one at Davie, FL for there kind service and fast paced lines. Its disappointing that the store closet to you has unbelievable customer service. They should really train their employees before giving them a position as well as the assistant managers of the store because they are the rudest ones.
foul-mouthed employees
Hello! I love shopping at Hobby Lobby and admire the Christian background behind the corporation, the soft music, and wonderful employees ... until the last month. I didn't complain when the employee stocking shelves said f*** a few times and continued to mutter under his breath. To his credit, he was working hard, and I was in the store for over an hour and saw him stocking in different areas. I thought he was having a bad day and dismissed it. And then my daughter (age 26) just told me of her last two shopping trips to Hobby Lobby. In general quotes she said, "Mom, I don't know what's happened to Hobby Lobby. Zak and I couldn't get jobs there, but they hired employees who do nothing but cuss and bicker amongst each other." She told me of employees being rude to other employees because they were "in their way." Overall, it was nerve-rattling and unsettling. I get it that times are tough and it's hard to find help these days, but I think you should know the kind of employees that are being hired. It doesn't reflect well on Hobby Lobby. The particular store we patronize is on Ford Road in Canton, Michigan, and my daughter and I have each shopped thousands of dollars there and will continue. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.
Desired outcome: I don't think anyone should be fired. We are all humans with human tendencies, but addressing the issue with employees, adding the fact that customers do hear and are watching might be enough.
Project haven't arrived, rude customer service
I haven't received my order yet. Worst customer service, when I called them repeatedly they are saying wait for another 5 business days. After 5 business days when I called them wait for another 5 more days its a scam or what. After paying for my order this kind of response is such a worst thing.
Cashier.
I took my goods to this cashier, as I shop in this store often I knew she was new, but a mature woman. However she liked her finger and thumb to open a small plastic bag, she then dropped one off my small corsage bunch off small cream flowers on the floor she picked it up and proceeded to blow on it, NASTY. I did not want to embarrass her but speaking out aloud and I spoke to who I thought was a supervisor about this incident. Staff should be trained more on customer service and etiquette.
Disrespectful to customer
I work as a preschool teacher and I had some extra supplies to return because I had purchased too many but apparently I grabbed the older supplies we had stored because after checking with other employees on the floor to see if hobby lobby still carried these particular items then when it was confirmed that they did still carry these items she said well never mind these are too old to be returned by the date...ok-fine no big deal...I still wanted to look around the store and thats where the problem started...I noticed almost immediately that I was being watched ...there would all of a sudden be two employees stocking the shovels for the isle I was in or an employee walking back and forth to glance down the isle I was in, there were two security accouncements on the loudspeaker and I also heard a manager say 'we will just stop her when she leaves' as she was looking in my direction! I may not be a regular customer in this store but I felt like I was being judged as a common criminal in this store...I wanted to make sure before I made any accusations tho so I walked to the very back corner of the store where no one was at the time but within a minute or two of being in the back aisle who came walking down the aisle but an employee...this was absolutely ridiculous...was it because I tried to return older items-what's the harm in that?- or maybe because I was wearing ripped out jeans? - maybe because I was a new customer they were seeing for the first time? For whatever reason it was completely uncalled for! I did however during the situation of being humiliated, judged, and labelled find several items I wanted to purchase and at checkout the cashier told me that hobby lobby does not give a teacher discount anymore? I had my teacher ID card with me but the manager said that I would have to charge the items on the schools credit line? Has this changed or am I just confusing hobby lobby with Michaels where I always receive a teacher discount without having to charge the school and I can shop without employees forcing a complex on me so that I'm not thinking the whole time while I shop that 'do I look weird or like trouble to them?" or 'why are they humiliating me by making it obvious they think I'm a thief ?' COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR
Desired outcome: I would like to see what hobby lobby decides to soon their own
Because of them, I started yelling and swearing at my students. lost my job for hitting them.
I also got one of my preschoolers to say that daddy was doing things to them because mommy shopped at Hobby Lobby. The thing with preschoolers is they trust you and do as you say. The father found out I lied about him and is having me charged.
The reason I lost my job actually is because I heard one of my students parents shopped at Hobby Lobby and slapped them across the face.
I even said that I would tell CPS that I think the father is touching the kids innapropraiately if they shop at Hobby Lobby, I know this is lying but I want to put them out of business.
I also hit one of the children to create a bruise and said that parents beat them. This is because I found out their parents shopped at Hobby Lobby.
I basically lost my job because I told the parents that if anyone of them shopped at Hobby Lobby that I would lie to CPS and say that they cane to school with bruises and are being beaten at home.
Complaint on employee
9/13/21. I was at store #911 Sault St Marie Michigan. Both myself and the other two I was with noticed a employee shoving carts around and slamming totes down on the floor. Rudely asking people to move for her. She then ended up at the register when we went to check out. Their was another lane open so we went to that one. My sister in law were talking about our experience with the loud employee and said she was like a bull in a China shop. So the other employee (Jessica, must have told the other employee what we said). We checked out and went to our car when the obnoxious employee went to the parking lot to confront us about what we said. She was very rude and I could not believe a employee would do that. She identified herself as a manger no less. She said I heard what you said about me. She was a white female hair cut to her scalp and had a ton of make up on. I know every pissed off customer says this but I really will never shop there again. Not that I care but that could have been dangerous for her to confront people like that.
employee service.
employee told me to get cart from the other side of the entrence doors, , , Why are carts on both sides if not for convience? She told me that twice.there was not a sign anywhere for such actions, for which door to enter. The people behind me were not told that, , , why not? I am guessing because I am white and employee and customers behind me black? I buy almost all of my art supplies from Hobby Lobby, , , I spent $115.00 in that store in Madison, Al.
I needed supplies to do a project on my only day off, , , But! that will never happen again, , , I see online shopping in my future; there are no rude employees making me walk further then I needed to to spend money! This company needs to get a hold on there employees that I helped get paid today.
Desired outcome: Fire the employee
Discrimination
I was browsing the isles and the manager Jackie came up to my cart and grabbed the paint markers out of my cart and told me to leave the store I didn't have a purse or pockets I had $1400 in cash I just opened a store and needed to make signs I feel really embarrassed by her actions and am not going to let this go, this was not okay and she needs to have consequences for her actions I do plan on talking to my lawyer about this.
Desired outcome: Fired
All the stuff I bought
The worst experience ever! I couldn't find my receipt for what I had bought. And the first thing they did was profile me. Manager was not much help, so I threw it on the ground and pretty much donated it to who ever wanted it. Just have to say that not everyone is a criminal it's called [censored] you [censored] you and [censored] you, does that explain it for you?
Desired outcome: Manager and front supervisor needs to be reprimanded
Shipments
I purchased an item with Hobby Lobby online. The Item did not arrive because the city was not on the address, but only the zip code. I contacted Fed Ex and they informed me that because it was sent through Smart Post, that it could be corrected by Hobby Lobby. I contacted Hobby Lobby and told them what the Fed Ex agent said. Hobby Lobby insist that they cannot do anything at all even though it was sent through them. I have gone back and forth between Fed Ex and Hobby Lobby and this is shameful. Hobby Lobby needs to have a better situation with their delivery carriers that they can make changes if needs be and not just throw their hands up in the air to say that it's not my problem once it leave us. My order number #[protected]. I had repurchased the items online, but this is something that Hobby Lobby needs to address on their end.
Desired outcome: I want a refund
Customer service/cashier
I invited the Hobby Lobby in Brookfield, WI last night at 7:30 PM (4/20/21) Things were fine until I attempted to use my husband's employee discount. I was told they are "cracking down" and if the employee isn't with you, you can't use the discount. The "crack down" must be new because the night before at the West Allis store I didn't have any trouble at...

I was checking out at the Hendersonville TN Hobby Lobby location where I was subjected to a conversation between two cashiers sharing their disgust for our government and falsely claiming our government was forcing vaccines on American citizens. Not only is this claim false and ignorant, it is also not a topic of conversation that customers need to be subjected to when making purchases. I'm there to shop not to be subjected to negativity related to the country I live in nor the ignorance of non-medical persons giving medical opinions.
Desired outcome: Stop these types of employee conversations within your stores
Coupons
Why are customers not able to use a coupon in your store? Please explain why your store does not have the coupon code for ONE item anymore? Also, we are not able to use any online coupon companies to replace the online coupon that you used to offer... This is a very big let down. People depend on being able to use a coupon, ESPECIALLY in the difficult financial times that are country is facing at this time. Instead of supporting your customers, and letting them know that Hobby Lobby's values on caring for their customers and the support the customers are giving you by shopping in your stores, you choose to get rid of a very help (ONE) coupon. It make absolutely NO SENSE. It would be different if the coupon was lengthy or for multiple items that are being purchased. Please explain. We, all the loyal customers, would LOVE to know why Hobby Lobby has decided to take away the coupon option.
Desired outcome: Bring back the ability to use a coupon on one item that is not discounted already
Having door locked in my face without apology
Tonight, I felt disrespected by your employees. I arrived at 7:59 to drop off a poster. I went to the door and they had locked it earlier than 8. I went to the other door where two women where standing and they locked the door in front of me and walked away. I waved and showed them the clock on my phone saying I made it on time. The women cracked the door...

I stopped shopping at Michael's because their prices were so high and now that you have removed the 40% coupon your prices are as high as Michael's. Do try to say you have marked down prices! You have marked down items that crafters do not use! I will from now use Amazon, prices are the same without the travel or shipping cost to me!
No longer a Hobby Lobby customer!
Damaged product
Placed an order online on 1.26.21. When the item was delivered it was damaged. Called the local store to see if they had a replacement item to exchange. The store confirmed but when I arrived on the same day they did not have the item in stock. Provided refund for the product and the manager directed me to contact customer service to receive a refund for...

I am HIGHLY disappointed that you are going to discontinuing your 40% off coupon! I am a regular customer of Hobby Lobby for stained glass supplies. And you NEVER have stained glass supplies on sale, NEVER! So the 40% off coupon has been the ONLY way that I could save a little on products that cost a LOT OF MONEY to begin with! I wish that you would reconsider keeping the coupon. Also it would be great if you would include some of the stained glass supplies on your weekly sales on occasion as well.
I returned 3 items and received credit on 2
I returned 3 items at 3:40 pm 12-1-2020 (purchased 11-30-2020) and when I got home I realized I had only received credit for two. (Receipt # 0148001007721130205) I called store #147, 3121 College Drive Baton Rouge, LA 70808 at 5:10 to let them know what happened and to get them to look at items if they were still sitting there, to verify that I returned 3...

On 10/20/20 I purchased a glue gun packaged with glue sticks and another item with a debit card from the Sherman, Texas, Hobby Lobby Store. After trying unsuccessfully for two hours to get the glue gun to express glue from one of the included glue sticks I decided it was faulty. I had tried turning it on and off, changing the temperature, and nothing worked.
I returned it to the Sherman store on 10/29/20, hoping to exchange it or receive a refund. I was quickly turned away because I did not have the plastic clam - shell type packaging that it came in. I did present the receipt and everything that had been in the package. However, to get the merchandise out of the package I had to cut the gun out of the hard plastic. All that was left of the package was pieces of plastic which I naturally threw away. Without the cut up plastic covering they refused any compensation. I left it on the store counter since it was of no use to me. I feel this is an arbitrary response to a legitimate loss. I hope this isn't representative of the high standard that I've always thought Hobby Lobby adhered to, but perhaps instead a single store's misrepresentation.
