associate keying a brand new car
I went into your Cropsey Avenue store location on 05/31/10. One of the associates felt the need to go out into the parking lot and key my personal car that was near your exit entrance. Now I have to go to the precinct and file a complaint. When I was leaving from out of the store with my mother trying to buy a fan, I notice all of the associates began to laughing very loudly. I noticed the key mark instead of having my mother be apart of the situation. I went to drop my mother off around the corner and returned back to the store. When the associates seen me return everyone who was standing there before scattered and left out of the sight of the situation. I went directly to speak with a Mgr. I didn’t know any of the younger people working in the store. I had no knowledge of who any of them were. For some apparent reason they must have thought they knew me. Now I have to file a case for my car to be painted over. If you have employees who work there that feel they can key up a brand new car and think that they can get away with it. Well, they are sadly mistaken because I am quite sure some of them have reputations already and they are known. So I will let the police handle it first and I will take it to the appropriate steps to have my car fix. As soon as I asked to speak to a Mgr. the young man in customer service stated he had already known what had happen? So since this is some sort of retaliation or some sort of game being played they played with the right person. I want who ever did this job on the line and I want them to pay for what they have done. I always tell people you can’t assume anything. I went back in your store and most of the associates that heard about what had happen were aware of who did it. I watched most of the Spanish workers began talking about it and laughing. The black workers just look on and didn’t say anything. So there are unprofessional people claiming to be working as an Asst Mgr in the store and didn’t want to confront me because they may have been apart of the problem too. I did notice most of the Spanish females in the store talking and watching me, but I assure you I didn’t know anyone personally in the store. When I went to speak to an Mgr or Asst Mgr. the person they claim to be the Asst Mgr. Name Jasmine didn't want to speak to me? That is when I really knew that these people working for Home Depot had a problem. It seems that everyone who worked there as an associate knew what had went on. I then spoke to someone name Mr. Williams to review the camera to see which associate it may have been. Mr. Williams assured me that his job is to handle situations like this one that is why the Asst. Mgr. didn’t speak to me. I stated who ever the Asst. or Manager is in the store they are suppose to acknowledge me while I am in the store they are representing the store and that isn’t acceptable it is unprofessional. The problem is that no one was taking it seriously because the damage was done. Not realizing they done it working on someone’s property which is Home Depot. I was too upset yesterday to go to the precinct, but I find myself in a better mood today. I want this person to pay for the damages with their check or be fired. It makes no difference in the matter at this point. I as a customer have never experience such behavior in the store before. I guess it is a first time for everything. I will forward my issues to the appropriate person that is why I am asking you. Who do I call in the store for such a malicious act that took place out side in the lot of the store by an employee?

credit card charge for returns
Home depot agreed to design my kitchen cabinet in Dec 2008. The designer took wrong measurement and ordered wrong cabinets for $4, 600. The cabinet came and couldn't fit my kitchen, some of them were damaged at delivery. I tried to return to store and the store wouldn't take it. I manage to return to the trucker subsequently. Home depot wouldn't refund me the money. They claim to have given me cash in lieu of return for $2200 where as the store employees took the cash on my account. I am stuck with citibank credit card which is charging for 4, 600 and interest at 27% every month and late charge $39. I was writing and calling home depot and citibank over one year and nothing happens, recently i get collection calls harrassing me. Is there any suggestion so they don't ruin my credit score.

poor quality
Received a Husky Powerwasher 2000S for a father's day gift on June 20, 2008. Purpose and use was to clean the 27 x 13 deck and a slightly larger concrete patio below. Unit has been used 5 times and properly stored in the garage. Went to use it to clean the this week and found that the poorly designed "Click-N-Clean Variable Spray Nozzle" won't work properly...

It is really hard to tell who is at fault...have you seen the spelling and grammer of the individual who wrote the complaint?
they put up bogus questions that have nothing to do with me
I was referred to a HVAC contractor by Home Depot . After deciding on this contractor who mentioned 12 month no interest on HD card, I decided to apply. I called and emailed to inquire about 12 month 0 interest. Was told via phone only 6 month existed! I noticed online that 12 mon was available on HVAC installation. I applied online and received 1200 (not enough for 12K job. I called number on temporary card to request increase. I was asked several question about credit info (i.e. car loan company, etc.)passed series of questions, but was then transferred to someone else who asked me questions about my nieces residence, ex-husband's sisters birth month, which I explained I had no knowledge. Asked about my twin sister's rental property and several other addresses. Nevertheless was denied credit because I couldn't be "verified & high fraud rate online." Explained questions had no relevance to me & credit report. Ashley, Judgmental Coach & Teresa, Credit Underwriter, (Tenn) "can't change questions." Went into store, store personnel couldn't believe my story and called credit division. Stacy & Joe (Florida call ctr), "we use public database that is in my report" I check credit report monthly, since bank institution had laptop stolen several years ago...all info correct! How would I know my ex-husband's sister's birth month! My twin sister's rental property locations or her daughter's city of residence? WHY was I denied credit with a 700+ credit score. If home depot doesn't want to give credit, say so, but don't put up BOGUS questions that have nothing to do with me!
Hello Etallions,
Wow, that's the first I've heard of something like that. As Home Depot is not a bank, we rely on third party lenders and don't have access into their systems. I wish I could check on this for you. If you'd like me to look into it, please email me at daniel_care@homedepot.com with your name, address, phone number, and any other pertinent information.

husky power washer
I purchased one of those miserable gas powered 2600psi Husky power washers less than two years ago. I pulled it out this spring to use it for the first time this year and I couldn't get it to start. I was able to use it ~6 times before it broke. Unfortunately I had lost the receipt sometime during the last 2 years, but the manufacture date was 4/29/2008. So on 5/1/2010 I carried it into my local Home Depot to see if I could return it. I couldn't since I didn't have the receipt, so they sent it off to be repaired.
The repair company just called to tell me that it was going to cost $156 to fix the machine since I don't have the receipt. Husky made these worthless machines for Home Depot. The manufacture date was 2 years and 2 days earlier than the day I brought it in. Are you going to tell me that this pressure washer made it from China (or wherever it was manufactured) to Gloucester, VA in less than 2 days? I told them to send it back. I am not willing to throw good money after bad.
To deny my claim is total BS. Home Depot has a responsibility to take care of their customers after selling them total garbage. My pressure washer looked brand new. The air filter wasn't even dirty and I stored the thing inside a heated room during the winter instead of keeping it in the garage so it wouldn't freeze.

was overcharged $400.00 by the cashier
Last Sunday, I purchased some fencing materials and was overcharged $400.00 by the cashier. I immediately called this to the cashier's attention and she sent me to the customer service counter to get it fixed. After waiting for about 30 minutes (the return line was out the door) I asked the assistant manager for help. He informed me that they would have to...
Read full review of Home Depot and 7 commentsdo not honor their warranties
We ordered a Sportsmans 4000 Generater from Home Depot on-line in May, 2009, to power our camper. The weekend after receiving the generater we took it out camping and it ran fine and supplied more than enough electrical power. Three weeks later we took it along on our next camping trip. It started and ran for approximately 3 hours. It began coughing and sputtering and suddenly stopped running. We tried for about an hour to get it started again, checking the oil, fuel, connections, etc. and could not find any problems. Several hours later we again attempted to start it and it started up right away. We went into the camper and switched on a light and no power. We plugged in a work light and nothing. We finished our weekend trip with no power. We contacted Home Depot and they informed us that we would have to contact the online people, which we did. They told us there was a 30 day warranty and we were several days over that and they would not honor any warranties. They took another week to come up with their "NO EXCEPTIONS" decision. They told us to contact the manufacturer, Buffalo Tools. We contacted Biffalo Tools and spoke with a man who said he was sure he knew what the problem was and would send the parts right away. We waited another 10 days with no parts showing up. We again contacted Buffalo Tools and spoke with a young lady. After another week of sending information back anf forth, she said her technician was sending the part they felt was the problem. Another 7 days and the part showed up, and of course it was for a different generator. We called again, spoke to another man and he said he would send the parts he was sure would solve the problem. Another 7 days and the parts finally arrived. They were installed and did not solve the problem. Buffalo Tools was called again and they sent a Return Authorization. We took the return authorization to our local Home Depot and of course they would not honor it. We are now waiting for the on-line division to make a decision as to what they are going to do. So now the warranty from the manufacturer has expired and there is still no resolution. Tjis is not the first time we have had problems with Home Depot and their attitude is "oh well". We live in Elko, Nevada.

So you bought a product at home depot but are upset because the MANUFACTURER does not know how to fix it or can not fix it.. ? Why do people think that because they bought something somewhere that they are the end all cure for that product if it does not work right or breaks... it has a brand name on it... go through the manufacturer, if you are upset they will not warranty it.. take it higher to a manager or regional person.. not the store you bought it at..
h2000 pressure washer
Got Husky pressure washer H2000 second generation and only used it one time and it worked great. Went to use it the second time to clean up for a family gathering and it would not turn on. I have heard that this is a common problem but I am not sure how to proceed. Needless to say, I am not happy.

I purchase three Hampton Bay ceiling fans at a cost of almost 1 thousand dollars. They are all in the same room. The fan blade arm fractured on one, sending the blade flying almost hitting my wife.
Hampton Bay said the parts are no longer available. I bought them 1 1/2 years ago! What kind of garbage is this? What happened to the ten year clause to always have parts available.
It says life time warranty! Model involved "Berlinini" Model 403 652. I will never buy another thing at Home Depot. Lowes is more professional in their dealings with brand names to choose from. I learned my lesson, don't buy garbage. I should contact my lawyer and sue for my cost in replacing all three fans.

bad business practices
About 5 years ago Home Depot Consumer Credit offered me credit by sending me an unsolicited preapproval in the mail. I applied, was approved and used my credit line.
I was never late and always paid more than the minimum.
Later, they periodically reduced my credit limit to the amount that I owed stating there was something in my credit report they were holding against me. Remember, they solicited me. The fact is there is nothing (bad) in my credit report that wasn't already there before they solicited and approved my business.
I tried talking to someone about this, but didn't get anywhere so I stopped charging to the account and continued to make payments. I paid off the balance in full in Dec 2009 and requested the account (which has always been in good standing) be closed immediately.
In Mar 2010 I started getting calls from their collection department about a 60 day past due balance of $12. Apparently, over 30 days after I paid off and closed my account, they hit my closed account with an $8 finance charge without mailing a statement. I didn't log in anymore because remember, I paid off and closed the account.
Their website makes it nearly impossible to easily dispute a charge or email customer service!
We have just had nearly the identical experience. They reported us as delinquent over $22 and they even waived making us pay it! I paid my balance in full and they didn't send us a bill for this small 'finance charge'. We are in the process of applying for a mortgage and HD trashes our credit for $22 that they didn't even make us pay!
cracked granite countertop
I had the Home Depot install a granite countertop. About 14 months after installation, a hairline crack appeared on the countertop in front of the sink.
I called the store and they sent someone to look into it. We were told that we must have cracked the countertop and that it was no longer under warranty. They refused to take responsibility and said that it would cost $1000 to repair.
It has now been almost 3 years since installation. the hairline crack has now "spidered" and is 17 inches long and the granite is sinking. The crack is wide enough for food to get stuck in there. I have repeatedly tried to have this store address the problem and they keep ignoring me! They've had so many different managers in the last 3 years that I just keep getting lost in their changes and no one cares.
The most recent manager gave me false hopes of finally resolving this matter. He told me he would call me "tomorrow" to set up an appointment to come over and see the damages for himself. It has now been 4 weeks and I have not heard from him. I will NEVER again buy anything from the Home Depot.

My rebate was not honored after a Home Depot Sales Associate told me to buy the paint I purchased specifically because I would receive a $20 rebate. I had planned to purchase different paint before taking his unwarranted advice. When I was informed by Behr that my rebate would not be honored, there was no reason listed as to why not. When asking why it wasn't being honored, they replied that I didn't purchase enough paint. When I responded a second time I told them I purchased a 5-gallon pail, and reminded them of what the rebate stated, they replied a third time stating that I didn't buy the right type of paint. I contacted the Home Depot via email, and they said they were sorry, and would a $25 gift card make up for the inconveniance. They never sent the gift card.
I bought a new dryer with a moisture sensor because it was recommended to save energy and money. It was delivered April 1, 2017 and has not worked properly since delivery. The dryer shuts off automatically but the clothes are not dry. I have been in constant communication with Home Depot, A&E Appliance Repair, Cornerstone Appliance Service, and Voyles Appliance Repair, and Maytag. They all keep telling me I don't know how to use a dryer and just because the dryer doesn't work the way I want it to doesn't mean the dryer does not work. The whole point of buying the dryer with the moisture sensor was so the dryer would not keep drying dry clothes. It is supposed to shut off when the clothes are dry. What is does is shuts off and the clothes are still wet. I keep being told its my fault.
I went in for a garage door install quoat. I was quoated one price, when I went to the service desk, was told it was 40.00 dollars more (was quoated last week's prices) The I was told after I complained I would have a 40.00 credit to use towards future purchases. I went to purchase an item today and they told me the credit was only good if I bought the garage door install. New story every day!
Sometime around november 2017, I contacted home depot regarding floor installation. After being informed that a measure from them was necessary, I proceeded with scheduling an appt with their measurer. After the measure, the flooring specialist from home depot called stating that she had the measurements and that I needed to schedule an appointment with her. The report did indicate some possible flooring issue but she did not address this. The installer came out I believe the week before christmas. I did inform them that my mother was hospitalized in new york and I needed the floors done before I left. The installer came out with a young boy who appeared to be a high school student. He said that his helper was his nephew. Well in tearing out the old card and carpet tack strips, they cracked a wall and busted up some baseboard in one of the bedrooms and in several areas in the foyer. They nailed the molding to the floor and the engineered wood was trampolining-bouncy. They also cracked several transition pieces and never finished the install. After refusing to sign his work order, he said the company would probably send someone else out. That monday I called the store and romanoff. After being transferred from one person to the next and not getting any results or call backs, I finally contacted home depot's headquarter number and asked who was in charge of that store and was given the name of richard frenzel. Eventually I got in contact with mr. Frenzel and he said that he was coming out to view the floors. Mr. Frenzel and a romanoff representative came but he did all the talking saying that he found nothing wrong and floors were supposed to trampoline;his only offer was replace the molding. After several more calls and a letter, I was contacted by mr. Shupe. I did receive a letter from home depot's resolution department stating the floor would be replaced. Sadly my mother passed after christmas but in march 2017 another installer from romanoff came to view the floors and stated tha the only wood floor he would install would be a 3/4 solid naildown. Mr. Shupe stated that I could pick out any floor of my choice. Home depot didn't have anything I favored but I did find something at home expo. During the summer into late fall i'd had some surgical procedures but I contacted mr. Shupe around november-december and he referred me back to rihard frenzel. Mr. Frenzel took the info regarding the floor-3/4 solid santos mahogonay prefinished and stated that I should be getting a call after the holidays that the order was in. Well, I waited fromdec to feb and no call. The person at the resolution center stated mr. Frenzel and mr. Shupe were let go. I was given lowell corbin as the person replacing frenzel. No one seemed to have any information. After sometime the situation went from one lie to another. They kept asking for the same information over and over. It seemed like a ploy to delay because the home expos stores were closing in sev eral months and no one wanted to honor the commitment made by mr. Shupe. This seemingly was strange because the resolution specialist confirming info regarding mr. Frenzel was michael mandas. They didn't want to hear anything about his records. Getting nowhere with this lowell corbin I finlly called the southeast regional office and was told that someone would be contacted me - mia hubert. During my last conversation with her, she told me to speak with no one but her. They continously lied and lied. Another flooring specialist from another store told me that the floor I wanted could be ordered. She said a new memo came out giving procedures on ordering a product that home expo carried. The last contact was early this week with l. Corbin saying he was turning everything to headquarters. You see before this he contacted me and my daughter giving us two different stories about the santos mahogonay. He last spoke with me stating that he was sending out the expeditor to view the 3/4santos mahogonay and he even told me the manufactures name. That's when I knew he was lying. That company didn't have this particular wood. When I told the expeditor someone wasn't truthful he said he couldn't understand why mr. Corbin would tell me a product was something it wasn't. The expedior called back to inform me I was correct - that company didn't manufacture that wood and that he had contacted mia hubert about the situation. That was two and a half wks ago. When corbin called this week he lied and said that he said something else.
Those gift cards could take 6-8 weeks. call again
Please tell us what model is the Maytag.
It might be good that mine was never delivered.
harrasment
The dhr Miranda Wilmot does her investigations (witch-hunt) anyway she pleases. She is never held accountable no matter how many complaints are filed against her (which are many)! Or it might be that Home Depot has no real process on how their employees are questioned when any allegations are filed against them! Makes you question all their core values mainly the one that state "taking care of you're people'' . Miranda makes that statement false by not being impartial when asking you any questions. Associates at the Holland Tunnel Home Depot need outside help! (unless they are friendly with Miranda of course)!
home depot needs labor union for their employees!

Everyone there is mean, nasty and rotten. This Home Depot STORE IS HORRIBLE! Take your money to other locations, because by giving them your money you are feeding their treatment of their employees.

Here's one for you. I picked out flooring based on a 7 - 10 day install window after measurements taken. Two months earlier I had measurements taken for the same project, but they couldn't find them.
About 10 days after signing the agreement, and 5 days after the measurement, I received a call saying the flooring I chose would not be available for 4 to 6 WEEKS. I said to cancel my order, as I was rushing to get the flooring installed and place the townhome for rent. The person said she would cancel it.
Over a month later I received a statement from CitiBank for the flooring. I was confused, so I called Citi first. They said to call store. Store was no help.
I called their corporate offices in Atl. The department I reached was helpful and contacted the store. The store said they tried to cancel the charge but couldn't reach me to get MY approval to credit my Citi/ Home Depot Card account. So the store said they would request and send a check so I could pay my Citi bill.
NO CHECK ARRIVED.
I kept in contact with corporate and they supposedly bantered back and forth with the store for a few weeks. According to corporate, the store requested ANOTHER check and mailed it.
NO CHECK ARRIVED.
Next, corporate said they would take care of it and faxed me a waiver to sign that would excuse Home Depot of any liability and would facilitate another check. AT THIS POINT, I am a LITTLE UNEASY signing over my rights. I would like corporate to sign the waiver/reimbursement agreement, so I can have a copy, before I sign.
As of now, I'm a little tired of it all. I just called CitiBank and contested the charge. The charge will now be reviewed a "judgement" passed in under 60 days.
Bottom line: don't trust Home Depot. 'nuff said.

carpet measuring and pricing
I went to Home Depot for pricing on new carpet and received what I thought was a good price for Stainmaster carpet. The salesman said it would be 50.00 dollars for the measuring and that it would be deducted from the total price if we purchased the carpet. I asked if the measurements would be available to us and the salesmen said they would call me to come by and get the measurements and the final quote. I asked the kid that came out to measure, how long it would take to get my measurements and he said usually a couple of days. I went to Home Depot for the final quote and was told i could not get the measurements unless I was going to purchase the carpet from them. After a long heated argument with employees and management they finally agreed to give me all the measurements and the cost break down. The measurements included 2 extra closets we didn't have and also was being charged for the wrong carpet. The padding was different than the one we selected and the installation charge was not the 39.00 quoted for the whole house, regardless of size. When I told there sales person about all the mistakes she said what difference does it make if your not going to purchase it from us. I called the corporate office to complain and a few days later got a call back from someone that did not say much but that they would look into the matter. I received numerous calls from sales reps asking if i was still interested in getting the carpet without any remorse for what they had put me through. I looked around and found a compatible carpet at another place and payed 4000.00 less than what Home Depot quoted me.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
terrible carpet install
Recently we purchased carpet from Home depot; the 139.00 installation per house was the deciding factor after being told that the 139.00 installation would be of professional grade & no short cuts were to be used. I had only 3 bedrooms to be carpeted so I removed all the old carpet, all doors, floor vents and bi-fold closet doors.
I guess you get what you pay for? My first disappointing discovery while vacuuming the mess the installers left was that several wall sections lifted right up from the vacuum suction, it appeared that the carpet was never stretched out and secured properly to the floor that meets the walls in 2 out of 3 rooms. I also noticed that the installers made several deep cuts into my freshly painted base boards, After calling Anderson installations and being confirmed for a Thursday morning appointment I had to wait till 2:30 for a person to come out & properly install & secure my carpet, After they left I noticed that I had one extra floor vent & no hole in one room to place it in, my worst fears came true, "Yes" the installers carpeted over a floor vent opening, WOW want a poor job, what a disappointment! I called Anderson installation to see if anyone can come back that day to correct this concern and was left disappointed again, I can't keep taking days off to have these screw ups taken care of.
At this point I can't waste anymore of my time with this type of service; I will finish the install my self, I don't think the 139.00 install was any value at all? I had to take two days off work to accommodate installers and now a possible 3rd day to have floor vent cut out, I've lost more than 139.00 worth of time off work. I wish to receive a full refund on my installation fees.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

high prices and they do not care about their customers
I'm a single woman with a modest income, restoring a 1925 house alone. I have shopped at HD exclusively for 15-20 years. I probably spent 15-20k in there last year.
In November, I needed a 10' 1x12. There was only one left and it was busted up. I asked if they would mark it down, and I could use part of it. The manager, Quentin, said no. Then I went back 2 weeks ago to spend another 2-3k. I asked if they could work with me a little since I spend so much money in there and give them so much free advertising. They were not very agreeable. I felt as though my business really didn't matter to them. I know I don't drop 100k a year in there, but I spend a huge portion of my salary there so I can do my own work. With the economy in this condition, you would think HD would try to keep customers.
I ended up at Lowe's, where they bent over backwards to help me with everything I needed. Unlike HD, Lowe's associates did not act as if it was a chore to take time with me. They also had far lower prices and gave me an additional 10% discount.
I am converted. In Colonial Heights, Va. Lowe's beats the bad service of Home Depot hands down.

drum flared and broken
My GE Adora Dryer purchased through Home Depot started making horrible noises. After two service calls (expensive) and no fix I was advised to call GE since the drum was flared and was still under warranty. The tech said he had seen a lot of this with these dryers. GE refused to replace the drum, telling me the warranty was for only one year. My owners manual only covers 3 models of GE dryers. They tell me that I have the wrong manual and it does not cover the drum, even though the manual says it does. I was told that the manual covers many appliances, (not true) and did not cover mine. I well never buy GE appliances again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
In my opinion, GE makes appliances in third world countries for the mass U.S. market that are garbage compared to the quality of their prior U.S. made appliances. Parts cost as much as replacement at times. Good luck fixing it yourself. I guess that is why appliances cost the same as they did 15 years ago.
This is Megan from GE. Sorry to hear about the issues with your dryer. Please email me at consindsocialmedia@ge.com, and I can look into the situation for you.
