Defective product exchange policy
On 11/27/2022 at 6 p.m. I went to the Home Depot on E. Valley Parkway to exchange a pressure washer I had purchased at this store on 11/04/22, I did not want a refund I simply wanted to exchange the one I had purchased for a working Ryobi pressure washer when I explained to the associate. I was told he would ask the manager, which tells me that the manager has the last say when I was approached by the manager he immediately without hesitation or asking what the problem I was having with the product he was short unempathetic to my situation having spent over 500.00 for this product and when I told him that I have no intentions of asking for a refund I simply want the item exchanged for a working item. He flat out told me it's not his problem and I should call Ryobi, and not expect them HD to take care of it. It's not like they have a 1,000 on hand all he had to do is print out an inventory of the product how many they have sold and compare it to how many they have on hand, if they have 10 on hand and sold 5 and they received 15 then there should be no reason to deny me an exchange it had the shipping label for that store on the box so I have no clue as to why they couldn't give me an exchange, I am 65 years old the mod treated me like I was dirt, and without a receipt he insinuated that I was a scammer and I am a thief and a liar, there is a store policy and there is a customer service policy that is above any company's return policy and if the said company cannot back the items they sell, and they are selling for top dollar and items that are not up to the standards that are set by the state and federal laws the company should be held liable for the selling of defective items to the public and consumer affairs needs to step in and have the heavy duty tools and items tested and if they are in fact knowingly selling defective items then it is the company's responsibility to uphold their standards by replacing the items at the cost of Ryobi not the customer. The manager was unhelpful, did not offer me the number to contact Ryobi nor did he even offer to contact support to see if there was a way to assist me in this matter.
Desired outcome: I want an even exchange.
Veteran credit
VETERANS! When you go to Home Depot, and they do not want to give you a veteran discount (because you do not have an appt on your phone). As a disabled veteran myself I am disappointed they will not honor the discount. Sometimes I do not have my phone and could not add the appt on my phone. I have a VA card showing I am a 100% disable veteran (not good enough?) The employees use to have a appt they could us to allow the discount, but management took them away. If they do not give you credit as a veteran (think about it other stores have no problem) just say they put the items back, I do not need them that bad besides I can get it from the other store where they honor veterans discount. Surely, Home Depot could care less there are suckers born every minute. To me they do not want veterans' money anyway. This has happened a couple times and I just either use my Farm account or just leave they items and walk away or went to a more friendly veteran store.

Refusal to admit obligation for personal injury
Sometime around 12 May 2022 I tripped and fell in the parking lot at your store in Milford Ohio after my third trip to the service desk to get help loading items i had bought. I tripped on a curb that sticks above the surface of the island that it's around. I laid in the parking surrounded by several good Samaritans trying to help. one in particular went an got a towel from his vehicle to put under my head which I split open and was bleeding. I was laying a pool of blood about 3ft round. once the ambulance got there, they took me to UC med ,as my request to go to VA as the va doesn't do trauma. was there stitched up sent home after all the x-rays. The following day I returned back to the VA after treating and observing me the doctor in charge said he was sending back to UC as he felt that the trauma specialist needed to take care of me. i spent 12 days in the hospital. Since then, I have been receiving paperwork showing the cost of all this. So far with a quick look it is over $ 100,000.00. which should be yours to pay. But the "shister" lawyer said I'm a nuisance case which my lawyer and i rejected. My lawyer requested a copy of the parking lot surveillance video he never got it. After time he called and said without, he was at a standstill and wished me luck. I'm a 20 year retired disabled vet. I have spent many thousands of dollars in your store. But after your law firm's sarcasm that I'm just a nuisance I will never recommend or shop there again un til I feel that it has been resolved. I personally have lost several days of work in remodeling my house. Calling me a nuisance case was the biggest mistake your "shister " lawyer could have made. I have run into several of your employees who know and asked why they haven't seen me when I tell them the story they are quite flabbergasted. thery have even recommend I write letter to you.
Desired outcome: restitutions from you for the bills and my lost time !!!And also the repair of the curb I tripped on. And last but not least a apologia from your laws firm!!!
Home depot for military discrimination
Home Depot no longer takes military identification cards for verification of service for military discounts unless you use their online application and you must download their app to your smartphone in order to get your discount. Case in point a lot of military personnel active, reserve, and especially military retirees don't even have smartphones period!...

I recently purchased multiple items for a home project of installing rain gutters to my home @ the La Habra HD. I finished my project and I wanted to return to return the excess items that included 4 gutter brackets, 2 down spout elbows, 1, supporting bracket, 2 end caps, 1 rain gutter, 1 coupling & 1 flex spout. I have returned items before but this time I was not able to. First the salesclerk rejected the ticket, so we called the Manager over and she rejected as well. Here is the odd thing, the Manager had the items in her hand but said that these items had already been returned. Not only that but I was told that 3 of the gutter brackets had been returned but 1 on them had not been returned. This is very concerning to me that the Manager did not have any common sense meaning that even if items had been returned, how could I pick up the same exact rackets, rain gutter etc. that I had originally purchased to bring back. This is not only insulting; I am very concerned that what could be happening is that someone else could have a way of returning items without the items and taking the cash and affecting my Identification. Check the similar complaints on the (TRE) website. Now I do not have faith in the Manager at this store. This is very poor customer service. Can you please investigate this because I am afraid that if your employees found a way to return items without receipts, what’s to say that they are not selling card numbers? I have always preferred HD for my construction projects/items but now I am very leery of getting my ID stolen or corrupted.

Samsung range and over the range microwave
In October we ordered a Samsung Bespoke 4-door fridge with customizable panels, Samsung Bespoke range, Samsung Bespoke over the range microwave along with the upgraded hose for the fridge and the power cord for the range and extended warranties on all. We were told delivery would be November 16th. the week before, I called to check the status of the delivery, as the order on the app showed no updates just said "in process". On the 16th... crickets... when I called they said there was an issue with the panels for the fridge so the entire order would have to be re-scheduled... something about the item number being a discontinued number! A call would have been nice, but no. After a call and being on the phone for over an hour with Resolutions department, it was determined that we needed to cancel the fridge from the order and re-order. Very upset but I did so and the earliest delivery date available was today 11/26. Ok, at least I would get it. So then I ask when I would get the microwave and range... Oh, she says, it looks like the 26th is the earliest date available for those items and they would have to be delivered with the fridge as they do not make multiple deliveries to the same address... Thanksgiving is officially ruined! Fine, I'll just get everything on the 26th. Oh really, not so fast... I called Tuesday to confirm all was well and on track for everything to arrive on the 26th. I was specific with them and ask them to please confirm all items set for delivery. I was assured that all items were on track for delivery on the 26th and if I would like, I could call 24 hours before to confirm... When we received confirmation of delivery window for the fridge only... I called to verify all was still well with the entire order... No, all is not well... I was then informed that the range and microwave had never been re-scheduled for delivery... Really?! Not what I was told on numerous occasions. I was then told it was too late in the evening to speak with the delivery company to re-schedule and I would have to call back this morning to have it scheduled. ….. Well... When I called this morning after over an hour, mostly on hold. I was informed that the range is actually on back order! No idea when it will be available to schedule. I have no idea when anyone would have bothered to let me know any of this information. Any one of the times I called to confirm everything is ok would have been a good opportunity. If I had not called I may never have known and one day in the far away future maybe I might have received my items which by the way were already paid for! I can not begin to tell whoever will listen how completely disgusted I am with this whole situation. I will advise anyone who says they are ordering appliances from Home Depot to not do so unless actually getting your items is really not that important. My level of Disgust would be hard to measure. Very Bad, Very Very Bad systems in place. Could not be more disappointed.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and an apology. I would also like to know what the plans are to rectify this process for future customers.

On November 10,2022 we purchased a LG stackable washer and dryer from the Home Depot in Cheyenne WY. As we went through the purchase procedures, we mentioned we needed a side vent for the dryer (LG DLE3600W). The sales lady, LDK8SS, assured us the delivery would include free delivery and free installation of the washer and dryer and they would test the hookup to make sure it operated correctly. On the dryer for the side vent she printed off the installation sheet showing up what part number we needed to order. Several times we discussed the side venting of the dryer. She said no problems, the installers would do it if we had the part. So we scurried back to Laramie and immediately ordered the part and PAID EXTRA FOR SHIPPING SO IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE for the installation. We got the part.
When the delivery was made the gentleman said ‘oh no, we don’t do side venting’ He also called someone who I am guessing was his boss to ask about it. I was and still am SO UPSET about this. We had specifically asked about side venting and spent extra money for the part in addition to new hoses, vent, power cord. So our options were to have them take the washer and dryer back or leave it un-set-up for two 78 and 76 year olds to maneuver. We had our old washer and dryer already removed so it would be easy for the new installation. Yes, I am very upset over this. We were told no problems in the side venting. So we had to do it ourselves to the best of our ability. We did have to call in for help moving the stacked washer and dryer as we were unable to move 300-400 pounds of appliances ourselves. And we had to test the hookup and level it too.
We have purchased many products from Home Depot – all of our kitchen cabinets, a refrigerator, lawn tractor, snow blower, microwave, kitchen sinks, lumber for our decks, hardware for sinks and showers, a lot of tools, plus numerous other items. We have been good customers of Home Depot. But this last purchase might be my last. A big part of buying this time from Home Depot was the installation as we are not as spry as we once were and just cannot do a lot of lifting, shoving and wiggling of heavy items. Plus the machines would have been set up properly. I will definitely consider this on my next purchase which may not be Home Depot. It cost us extra money and time and a great deal of consternation and anxiety. Not happy with Home Depot or their employees.
Now I also have another complaint. When I tried to contact Home Depot via email I finally received a text via a virtual assistant. II eventually was directed to someone, no idea who it was, and after numerous back and forth, this anonymous person said I had to CALL a number as this department only handled Online Purchases/Returns/Tracking. The complaint can only be handled via a phone call. Now, this is not acceptable. I wear hearing aids and talking on the phone is quite an ordeal in itself. If my husband is home, i can put the phone on speaker and he can help me hear as the other person is sometimes so quite I cannot hear. I need to see someone's lips which helps me understand and I also lean into the conservation to hear. I also have a slight speech impediment that hampers them from understanding me at times.
During the above transaction, my husband stood there and helped me. In this day and age, email/text is a godsend for people with hearing impairments. I would think Home Depot would be required to be ADA complient with hearing loss individuals.

We filed claim with Asurion Sep 20 2022 today is November 27th 2022. Need I say more? Asurion does not show up cancels appointments last minute does nOT HAVE tools they need like a wrench and drill then order tools and they ordered wrong. Promised buyout 3 times thEN declined . They can’t fix the washer they can’t keep an appointment ..ARE THEY really GE CERTIFIED? I don’t think so.
It is reasonable to expect that when home Depot sells a service contract using the Home depot name they are responsible to the customer. Andersen windows
I ordered Andersen windows Dec 2021 and received 9 out of the 10 in April 2022. One broke and one screen missing. Received the 10th window Sept 2022 but inside parts missing, so it won't stay up. Still haven't gotten the inside parts, which would make it about 1 year without a working window. Nice Job...and still don't have a screen for 1 window. Lots of promises, Lots of mistakes 'Your screen doors are coming in next week', uh I just need a window, not screen doors. 'Oh our mistake, ok let me check'...3 mos later, your window is about 2 mos out. Is this really a business that Home Depot is supporting. My advice, buy windows from a Window Dealer, not through Home Depot.
In the pic below you can see the middle front window is the old steel window not replaced for 10+ mos waiting on HD to get their act together.

On November 21, 2022, I contacted the Better Business Bureau in Orlando, Florida, and explained that the service was unsatisfactory. The continuing nightmare was that they said Thursday they would have them install the refrigerator. On Thursday, I received a call from [protected] stating they were outside with a new refrigerator, and that's when I told the young man who I could barely understand that I spoke Spanish and that he had an installation, not a delivery. I called my family and had them take all the groceries out so that the new refrigerator would be connected and the nightmare would end, but this just continued because they never showed up. I even called back the young man, and he said no one came out, which was a big lie. Three hours later, I was told the delivery guy was on his route and could not return until Saturday. All my groceries went to the waist; I had to give and throw out meat that would not be good to put back in the freezer after three hours. Talking about a nightmare, I would like a call to explain everything. This keeps cutting me off when there is much more to my nightmare.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving my complaint. I would like to receive a full refund from Home Depot of the full cost of the service in the amount of $3,474.88.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the Pittsfield, MA Home Depot on 10-28. It was delivered on 11-7. They were supposed to install it but the drain hose they brought was only 4ft. and my place needs 8ft. They said they had no other hoses on their truck and told me to call the store for an extension. Called they store, they said there are no extension hoses in the store and was directed to go online, which I did- then called someone to ask if this would be the correct hose. It took a week to arrive and when I tried to put in over the other hose, Discovered it was the same size and wouldn't work. Then I went back to the store to ask for help and they refused to help me. A friend helped me out.
I had no idea that because I needed more hose that they would not install.
Had I been informed I would have bought the longer hose at the purchase of machine or got one elsewhere.
Very disappointed in Home Depot. Seems customer service ends at the cash register.

delivery failure
I purchased 2 outdoor lights for 30.00. the Fedex driver didn't follow the clear direction on the door to throw package sover the courtyard fence b/c of the high package crime rate in Philadelphia. I called and was told it was delivered outside your door. They said they had a picture which was showing they didn't follow directions.
I was told they have no responsibility for stolen packages. I have no evidence they were delivered and never didn't get a replacement when this has happened to me before.

Frigidaire upright freezer
Purchased freezer online 8/13/22 delevery 8/19/22 Did not plug in till 11/16/22. Remodel pantry to accommodate new freezer. Morning of 11/19/22 freezer was at 0 degrees empty. Filled freezer full of frozen beef freezer increased in to temp to high 40's to be expected with door open. Before bed around 9pm freezer was at 12 degrees. 11:30Pm alarm started going off temp increased to 33 degrees. I did 2 things frist almost maxed out thermostat second pull all meat off of back wall maake sure there was plenty of circulation. Temp dropped down to 20 over a 3 hour period. 11/20 watched all day never went below 20 degrees. Starting to get concerned I made the hour drive to Tucson homedepot #410. I never was able to get any true answers. So I lowerred my standards and went t lowes spent $700.00 on another freezer that I should have never needed. After I emptyed your freezer temp started to drop then it started alaming with blinking lights. Unplugged. 11/21/22 I called [protected] talked to appliance team then transfered to square trade worked with them for 45 minutes they said they would send me email with instructions on next step never received. I then called [protected] spoke with customer service rep. Worked with her for hour or so. She got me on the phone with frigidaire. Frigidaire is trying to get me an appointment sometime over the next week. Crazy. If I didnt catch this all of my beef would have gone bad. Talkiing way over 1000.00 dollars in beef. Over all outcome I have a new freezer that does not work and who knows when or if it wil be fixed. Have another new freezer that I should have not needed wasted fuel my time and no true potential outcome of this bad situation. I feel today all I received was the run around. Kinda disappointed in my overall experience from homedepot. Thank you and so sorry had to do this on my phone.

Placed an online order November 6, 2022, that I decided to cancel after being notified that item would not be delivered until December 8, 2022. I attempted to cancel the order while the order was listed as not shipped. When order placed shipping time was listed as 5 days and not changed to December 8th until after being notified the product had shipped. When I inquired, about shipping I was told that estimated time was not correct which is understandable, but a 30-day delivery window should give the buyer the option to cancel the order. I'm now forced to accept a product that I'm unable to use in a timely manner, must return with a shipper to store if delivered when I not home to refuse delivery due to weight and size of order. Shipping information is still unavailable 11/20/2022.
Desired outcome: Change cancellation times/procedure for items that have a 30-day delivery time.
