KIA Seltos LX
I purchased a new 2023 KIA Seltos VIN no #KNDEPCAA2P7368384. The plastic on the steering wheel is developing air bubbles and starting to peel off. It appears that part of the steering wheel was covered with a thin layer of plastic wrap. This doesn't look nice for a brand new car. Does the manufacture put a thin plastic patch over the plastic steering wheel? Is this covered by the KIA warranty?
Desired outcome: To have defective steering wheel repaired
Touch screen issues
I have bought Kia Sonet G1.2 5MT HTK Plus Petrol Variant during June 2021 and the stereo touch screen not working properly. Last month there was an issue with touch screen response time. There is a high lag of response time of the stereo touch screen. The issue was taken up with the service manager of the service station located at NH 47 Bypass Road Venpalavattom Trivandrum Kerala where from I have taken delivery of the vehicle . The vehicle was checked by the service people and told that there is no issue and returned the vehicle with an advise that, is the problem persist brought back the vehicle for checking . All these are happened during the warranty period. Next week the touch screen of the stereo completely stopped working and when I brought the vehicle again to the service station they were informed that the warranty of the stereo expires and they were asking payment for replace of the parts . I felt the service station people purposefully delayed to expire the warranty and deceived me with the pre-text of no issue with the touch screen. And they are not acknowledged the issue in the job card and they reported with a comment in deffered job reason as "AVNT Sometimes Stuck When Blue".
2014 Kia Optima Hybrid EX
So the hybrid battery is messing up on my car and kia has failed to do a recall on it. I have several friends that have the same year make and model and their car is doing the same thing. How can you make a vehicle and not stand behind what you make. We should not have to come out of pocket on this battery that is in fact very expensive. stand behind your product.
Desired outcome: hybrid battery should be replaced at no cost to me and there should be a recall on this.
2013 Optima SXL Snow White Pearl
I purchased my car in September 2021. It had minor chips, nothing major or noticeable unless you were close up. After a bad snow storm in Dec 2021, and my car being outside for 1.5 days in the snow, the paint on my hood peeled off in massive pieces (dealership told me the paint looked off and prior owner painted it lol). The pillars between the windshield then started to become worse (dealership told me it was from ice scrapers lol). Then above my driver door and now the trunk is beginning to make its paint peel.
I work for the Honda manufacturing plant in the paint in plastics department. I know why this is happening to my car and thousands of others. I am pretty sure Kia/Hyundai know why too.
Now washing my car is either a non option unless it’s so dirty it has to be. Everytime I clean my car with soap and water paint comes off! Ridiculous!
Desired outcome: I want the paint defect affecting my car to be corrected; and I want the company that painted it poorly to cover the cost.

On 7-14-23 Kansas City, Missouri had some severe thunderstorms. I was driving home from work and was caught in a traffic jam. As I approached the area of where the jam was I discovered that there was water in the road. I could not turn around after being caught here. So like the others with me we drove respectfully through the water at about 1 to 2 mph as to not make waves. The water was probably a foot deep. I got through it and drove another 10 miles to my home.
As I was turning into the neighborhood to get to my house, I heard scraping under my car, it got louder and louder the more I drove. It was only about 2 blocks before I reached my house. I got out of the car and looked under the car to see what the noise was. It was a piece of fiberboard about 3ft wide and 4 or 5 ft long. I tried to pull it out, but found out it was part of the car.
I got into the house and called the KIA dealer, I was informed that it was the skid plate that protects the chassis under my car. They told me to drive it to the dealer and they would replace it for $540.00 it was not under warranty. I could not drive it the way it was unless I cut the piece off of the car. I crawled under the car and with a tin snips cut off what I could in order to safety drive the car. Once at the dealer they informed me that because the skid plate was dragging it did some other damage to my car that would cost me another $400.00 to fix. This skid plate is only made of fiberboard and when it gets wet it expands and falls off.
I am a 71 year old woman who bought this car thinking it was a good car, since I have owned 3 other KIA vehicles in the past. I am now scared to drive it when it rains because of this poorly constructed skid plate.
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed for this charge and future charges that this damage incurred to my vehicle because of it.
Service Department at Kia of South Austin
Took car in for oil change and tire rotation showed proof of Ally purchased service contract from Kia when I purchased the car and was told that I only had to show it at the service department in order to get the maintenance done that the warranty maintenance contract covered. After i changed my oil, i started the car and oil leaked out fast, I thought the filter housing was loose, I jacked up my, using a wood block on my jack so not to damage the car, I tightened the filter housing, I added more oil and started it again, Oil leaked once more and i turned off the car. I never drove the car, this all happened in my driveway. I called Martin Swanty of Kingman, Arizona. They send a tow truck because I had the warranty. I explained to the tow truck I can' drive the car because the oil drained out. I also told the person at SWANTY KIA that there was no oil in the car, please don't start it and what happened I did not know. This all happened on June 14th, 2023. The following dad Sidney called me and asked about a piece of wood stuck in the frame and I explained it to her. I asked her how the car was moved? She said the technician drove it. I said to her I hope he did'nt drive it with no oil. She how else can he get it to the work station? On friday the 16th of June sidney called me and said I put the oil ring on the filter. On Tuesday the 20th 0f June, sidney and said there was a knocking noise. I said you drove the car, I did'nt.They are responsable not me.

I went to Ourisman Kia on Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax VA two weeks ago. I test drove a Telluride. Price was not discussed. I came home and thought about it and called the dealership and asked for Maurice the salesman I met. They said there was nobody by that name. So I asked the person on the phone if he still had the white Telluride Ex and he said yes. I asked the price and he said $48,675 PLUS taxes, paperwork charges etc...I asked the sticker price and he said it was 43,675. So your dealerships are not only charging sticker price but adding on 5-8K to that for out-the door? I wonder if you are aware of this? I was going t buy a Kia instead of replacing my Subaru but these practices are shameful. Are you aware that this is going on? Do you support this type of selling for your products? My daughter and family wanted a Telluride also but this is just ridiculous and shameful.
In addition the dealership I visited has people who know NOTHING about selling cars. They don't even know the names of their co-workers. Ourisman is a large dealership in the northern VA area.
Desired outcome: I do not want to pay over sticker price.
Vandalism issue of out of pocket expenses
I had my car vandalized on May 6th in Springfield, MA. They broke my ignition and rear passanger side window. My car remains at Balise Collison in Springfield, MA. I was told that the Kia dealer couldn't get it started, then they did and now there are more delays.
I have incurred out of pocket expenses of $481.68 for a rent a car which I have had extend again until May 17th because they tell me my "part" will be in around that date. This will add another $131,00 to my out of pocket expenses, along with the final bill of over $700 that I have to pay for my comprehensive deductible. This experience has cost me at least $1,344.68.
I am retired on social security and a small pension. My social per month is not even $1,344.68.
I have be a satisfied Kia owner since 2012 when I bought my first Kia and then purchased my current Kia in 2016 (which is fully paid off). I have even stood by the Kia brand through a engine recall and many other recall notices.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of $1,344.68. I don't know why anyone who was vandalized would have to wait for a class action lawsuit. This was not our fault. I can be reached at [protected] to discuss a refund of my expenses.
2021 Kia Seltos
I bought this car in May 2021 from Evan’s Kia. It had 2500 miles on it when I bought it and now has 4600 miles. Last Friday it broke down and I had it towed to Stokes Hodges Kia in Beech Island, SC. I have owned many cars in my life and I have never had the engine go out on one of them, much less one this new with so few miles. I had to get a rental car which is costing me almost $400 a week until my car is repaired, which may be weeks. This is unacceptable. They didn’t even have a loaner for me. I am retired and living on a fixed income.
Desired outcome: I think y’all should cover the cost of my rental or make sure I get a loaner car from the dealer
2019 Kia Sportage
Our 2019 Kia Sportage has just over 36,000 miles on it. We purchased it new in 2019. This week we noticed that the paint has started to peel badly on both of the side mirrors. The vehicle has not been exposed to anything unusual and has not been in a collision of any kind. Do we have any recourse? It appears that paint is only covered under warranty for 3 yrs/36000 miles. However, after doing a bit of research I have learned that this is not an uncommon problem among Kia owners. How is this issue being resolved?

Peeling Paint
I bought a 2015 Kia Optima 6 years ago. A year before the start of Covid I had my paint start coming off around my front window frame. I went back to where I bought the car they took pics and said they were sending it to Kia corporate to get approval to paint. They declined it, tried saying because my car is out of warranty. Which is complete BS, because paint should not be peeling off or chipping off my car, its not that old. Then it started peeling and chipping on my hood took it back to the dealership they took pics and again same response from Kia Corporate, they weren't correcting the problem. I went through this process with about 3 or 4 times. Now I have paint that has peeled off my truck on the right side. This is just upsetting & causes me depression & anxiety that I pay all this money for car & they cant fix the PAINT DEFECT of the PEARL WHITE PAINT. I have seen multiple white pearl Kia cars with peeling paint. I WANT MY CAR REPAINTED!

Desired outcome: Activate the warranty in Egypt for brand new car purchased from Saudi
Stinger Rotors
The rotors on this car do not match the high end break system. My rotors warp every 4-6000 miles. Kia doesn’t restart the warranty when they replace parts at their cost so my warranty is up unless I pay for the parts. Two service people at my dealership state warping rotors on the Stinger is a common problem. When I look up on line, several sites also discuss the frequency of warping rotors. When I call Kia customer service I am told, by a representative, the district manager and the dealer both agreed not to extend my warranty. There is no one I can talk to that can actually do anything about do anything to help me.
Desired outcome: Kia to upgrade my rotors to ones that are slotted and drilled.

2023 Kia Sportage
I took my 2023 Kia Sportage, vin # 5xyk33af4pg038761 into my dealer on Friday 6/23/2023 to have the car serviced. I was informed at the time there was an open recall on the braking system, where the diaphragm on the brake assist system could be deformed and cause an issue making it hard to brake. I was informed by the service technician that the result of the inspection determined that I did indeed have a bad diaphragm and that KIA advised not to drive the car. I was informed that Kia would cover the cost of a rental vehicle for 3 days, but the parts were on Back Order with no ETA.
I am a Sales Representative and I drive for a living. I cannot afford to not have a car, nor am I willing to rent a car for an extended period in the hopes that KIA might reimburse me! Having now being made aware of the issue I do recall 2 instances where I had a difficult in coming to a stop and really had to lean in hard on the brake to stop.
I wound up buying another car so I could continue doing my job and earning a living. I was not looking to buy another car at this time but it looks like KIA left me no choice. I am wondering what compensation KIA will provide based on this unexpected purchase. Regards, Keith

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment and sense of being deceived in relation to my experience with Kia Tunisia. Despite following all the warranty conditions for my car, the warranty manager named (Ahmed) recently informed me that I am not entitled to any warranty. This revelation came after two years, during which time it was discovered that the car model I purchased is not commonly available in Tunisia.
Prior to purchasing the vehicle, I visited Kia Tunisia (Halk El Wed) to inquire about the warranty. I had a discussion with a manager named (Abdelhamid), who explicitly assured me that Kia provides an international warranty. I was informed that all that was required was an initial checking of the vehicle and subsequent servicing, including oil changes, at their service center. It is crucial to note that I bought the car from Bahrain with zero kilometers on the odometer.
I strongly urge you to honor the terms of our agreement and provide me with the remaining period of the warranty, as initially promised. Alternatively, I request a full reimbursement for the costs of the oil changes, which are three times higher than those offered by external garages.
Be aware that, if this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be compelled to file a formal complaint and publicize this issue. As a journalist, it is not the first time that we hear stories and cases involving Kia Tunisia (halk el wed), and I am prepared to bring attention to this matter.
I hope that we can find a resolution to this situation promptly and restore my faith in Kia as a reputable brand.

I own a 2016 Kia Sorento ex awd v6. I purchased this vehicle 2021 with 45,000 miles on it. Today it has 85,978 and on our trip to take my son to college on 6/20/2023 the engine light came on and car was not shifting. Had it towed to Kia dealership in Harrisonburg, Va an hour from my home. They say it needs a new fuel injector the #1 one. Service advisor stated it was faulty and was stuck open. This is costing myself over $1600 ! I purchased a warranty to cover bumper to bumper past the manufacture one and they say it covers nothing
