Sorento and telluride and dealership
In July 2022 I tried to trade in my 2021 Telluride that was $15000 over MSRP, sold by Capitol Kia in San Jose CA. I went back to the dealership that sold it to me and told them I'd like to downgrade into a Sorento SX. They told me I could do that and promised me it would be easy to trade my car in. I went back and forth about it for a few weeks and ultimately decided to go ahead. I told the salesman he could run my credit to make the swap as I was driving to the location. I had a 790 credit score and when I got there they told me there was so much negative equity in the car because it was so overpriced when I bought it that I would need to pay close to $20k to get out of it. I ended up not doing the trade and sold to Carvana instead because they only asked for $6000 in negative equity. This dealership was LYING about the cost of money I would have owed them to get out of an overpriced car they sold me. My purchase price for a Telluride SX was $65k and MSRP was $42000. I spent the next 6 months looking at car options waiting for the right one for me. I wanted a white Sorento SX. and the Winn of Fremont CA dealership and I settled on a price and since the car wasn't arriving until 1/10/23 they said I need to put a $1000 deposit. They printed out the amount I'd pay for the car I wanted and then I gave my debit card for them to take the money. I did this over the phone and hung up with them. This happened on 12/17/2022. I called back on 12/21/22 and asked aquestion and they had no record of me giving a deposit. I got in touch with the person I was dealing with and he said the car was actually reserved for someone else and I wouldn't be on the list anymore. They have no other trims and colors like I wanted so now I'm out of the car I was expecting to purchase in 3 weeks AND they ran my credit in the bginning to give me a quote based on my exceptional credit.
2 times in the last 6 months kia dealerships have promised me the world and printed out documentation to PROVE I was going to get what I Wanted out of it so they could run my credit and they never followed through. I have 2 large hits on my credit report due to their negligence and sneaky sales tactics. I value Kia's for my family due to their safety and performance record and I've had a kia for 5 years now and do not want entertain a different car brand. But this behavior and negligence is BEYOND manipulative and damaging. I still do not have the size upgraded car I need, and none are forecasted to arrive anytime soon, and I have 2 hits on my credit already. If I find a different car I want to get down the road I will have to get ANOTHER pull. I am simply irritated at what has happened.
Desired outcome: I would like BOTH dealerships to contact the credit reporting agency and reverse that pull. Trade my current 2016 sorento in to go towards the purchase of new SX sorento. Lease paymetn for 36 mo for new car at $600 or less/mo
I spoke to the Winn Fremont dealership and resolved the issue.
Key fob
When I purchased my 2023 Kia Seltos in August of this year I was told the second Key FOB would come to me via mail and I could bring it to the dealership for programing.
I HAVEN'T RECIEVED IT YET AND NO ONE KNOWS WHEN IT WILL COME.
I have spent more than an hour on hold today and NO ONE ANSWERED THE FREAKING PHONE.
What kind of service is this I can expect from KIA?.

False advertising
I received an email that Gateway Kia in New Brunswick. The has send me an offer for my car for $18149.00 please additional $3995. So, before I went there, I called and spoke with Felicia to confirm that the price was correct, she said yes and I asked again and hear the manager yes, we are guaranteed it. So, I made the appointment and went. Yes, it was busy, but a sale rep name Kevin helped asked me what car and if I had a trade in. I told him what I wanted and told and show him the payout for my car. He took my information and not even 5 mins when by he came back and said they cannot offer me what was sent in the email and I told him that I called, and I was told yes, my Felicia and a manager. He said that it was not correct. And then told me that my payment would be over $600. oo. and that they could do anything for me. So, what was send was false advertising, second a manger lied to me and three they could of care less if I was there or not. It was like I was wasting their time. tell me how someone runs a business with liars and false advertising. Also was told Kia does not run any offers. They made me feel like an — hold. 2013 Kia Optima Pearl White Paint Peeling
Hello, My 2013 kia Optima paint is peeling off the driver side window frame and now the passenger side is starting to peel as well as bubbles starting on the hood of my car. The peeling of the paint started about 8 months ago and keeps getting worse. The color is pearl white. I have been researching and looks like this a a common problem with this paint color.

Auto repairs
Took my car Kia van to All Valley Car Care-PHX with two problems. the air conditioning wasn't working and I had oil in the radiator. was told they had state of the art diagnostic which there would be a charge for but would be off set if I had them make the repairs.
I picked the van up the first time with a charge of 2650.27. was told that the radiator and all the hoses had to be replaced. I didn't even make it home, before the air stopped working.
Took the van back to them. Picked it up the 2nd time with an additional charge of 703.38.
A few days later I'm driving down the freeway and steam/smoke starts coming out from under the hood and my temp gage pegs all the way to hot. when the van cooled off I opened the hood and found one of the hoses that they said they replaced had blown off the radiator and the lid on the coolant tank was open. A tow company owned by same company picks up the van and tows it back to shop.
I pick the van up for the 3rd time with an additional charge of 519.86. a week or so later my temp gage again pegs all the way hot. and the same hose is off the radiator. Again it was towed back to their shop. I am then told it has a blown head gasket. and I should come down to shop and look at it. When I get there I'm told that I need a new engine. I told them no and to put it back together and I would have it towed home.
A week later I'm told I can come to get the van. I send a tow truck to pick it up and bring it to my house. when the van gets to my house the battery is not in van, the radiator cap is missing the engine is not mounted correctly there is no fluid in radiator or oil in engine. These are the things I can see just by opening the hood.
I have spent a total of 3878.51 plus 200 tow charge. for a van that is not drivable or suitable for a trade in.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the money that I paid to them for repairs. at the very least plus what the amount the van would have been worth as a trade it.
2014 Kia Sorento @ Suntrup Kia St. Louis since first week of October
The engine on my 2014 Kia Suntrup seized up in early October while driving. We had it towed to Suntrup Kia in St. Louis on Lindbergh Blvd. While it sat in the lot for almost 2 weeks, it was broken into (doors left unlocked so no breaking in was really needed) and the steering column was damaged as it was attempted to be stolen. After proving we cared for the engine, the Dealership said they would repair the engine at no cost. Our insurance is covering the steering column damage but at the same time pursuing the dealerships liability insurance to cover as it was on their lot and uncared for. We are now without a car for 2 months and we get little to no updates from Justin the technician or Justin the Service Manager. They have been "waiting on parts" for well over a month and say there is no estimated time for shipment of those parts. I would like a quick resolution to this matter at this point as I mention, we are now 2 months without the vehicle.

The service
In June of 2022, my car was bought in for a brake change. I was told that I needed new rotors. It took a month to get my car from dealership. I was getting different answers as to when the rotors would be ordered. You get put on hold, just for the phone to hang up. Most times you get voicemails. So I get my car back in July of 2022. I had water in the gas tank from a store by my house. Car killed wouldn't start. Contacted my insurance company to file a claim. Car was towed to Kia dealership. I specifically told them there was water in the tank. They were checking the engine and told me they had to send the engine off to be broken down to find the problem. So since it was the engine they stated, I had to cancel my claim. I didn't have to come out my pocket to pay for anything since my car was under warranty. At the end of the three months the dealership finally told me that it was because of the water in tank. That was the reason I put car in shop. Get my car back in November. Next day it killed and wouldn't start again. Had car towed back to kia dealership. Was told that they had something foreign in the tank again. But the same person who I got the same gas with, had no problems with their vehicle. I was able to file claim with insurance but had to pay a deductible which i was not able to afford. Kia was not going to touch my vehicle without the deductible being paid. They offered me to apply for a loan for the deductible. I had no choice to apply. I would have been paying a note on a car that was not drivable. Or I would have left that car at the dealership and still would have had to pay a note. After another month of my car being there, I leave the lot and my car was shaking and smoking with a strong oil odor. I was told that I needed to new front tires. Went and got two new front tires put on car. Same problems with the shaking. I bought car back to kia dealership and was told my rim was bent. And that was causing my car to shake. Had several people look at rims. They were not bent. So I had someone go to the dealership with me to get some results. I felt like I was getting the run around due to me being a female. They was not properly fixing my car. They told several different stories. They didn't know what the issue was. I spoke with a general manager outside of the dealership. They gave me a rental because I stressed that I could not be without a car for months again. They told me the smoking was from the brand new turbo they just put in when they put the new engine in. And the shaking was coming from a broken thread on the back tire. I feel like they just put stuff on my car and didn't take time to make sure it was running properly when I left. Still waiting on my car as of today. I was trying to call to see when my car will be ready. They answer and don't say hold. I hold long enough for the phone to hang up or go to voicemail. I been calling all day. Still haven't spoken to anyone. I am fed up with and Kia and their service. I also feel like they overpriced that car for me.
Desired outcome: I want to get out of this car. But due to kia not telling that I was building up negative equity every time i traded my car in, I can't get out of it. I don't have no down payment. I have not been compensated with anything since June.
Lack of customer service
I was hit October 21,2021. My bumper was completely gone. I also had a broken, but working, passenger side headlight. Once I was able to file a claim with the other person's insurance, I took my KIA to the repair shop. I was told it would only take a few days since it wasn't a big repair (mostly plastic replacement). A week went by, then a month. Called to see what was going on and the body shop said they're having trouble finding a headlight. They were uncertain of when they would get one. State Farm called me and said from that day on (the day they called me) they're no longer covering the rental because so much time has passed. I paid out of pocket for a rental I wouldn't have needed had the other person not hit me; also, the bigger issue: KIA's parts being on backorder for MONTHS. The body shop was finally able to locate a headlight. I got my car back May 2022. 7 MONTHS I was without my car, because of a headlight. I reached out to KIA. I was told they'd reimburse me for the rental portion I had to pay since it was their headlight that couldn't be obtained. That was back in June 2022. I was told at the end of June my reimbursement was approved. September 9, 2022 I emailed "Elizabeth W" and updated my address. I also called and left multiple voicemails requesting a call back to verify she received my address. Two WEEKS later she says it'll take 6 WEEKS to update my address. Fast forward, it's now December 12, 2022. I've spent, now, over 8 hours on hold in the 8 times I've called KIA. "George" answers today and says I didn't submit all the information. I have email proof I submitted everything that was requested when this whole process started. He can't even reach "Elizabeth W" and can't answer why I was NEVER informed of missing information, despite an email stating my reimbursement was approved.
Desired outcome: I want the reimbursement I was told I was already approved for, not have to jump through more hoops! I asked for the rental car reimbursement only as the car repair was already paid for by the insurance company.
2007 kia spectra
The [protected] KIA Spectra and other models of KIAs from around that time have a known issue with the occupant sensor in the passenger seat that controls the passenger airbag deployment. The details are laid out in this link: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10094084-5448.pdf
The NHTSA allowed KIA not to recall these vehicles and instead extend the warranty on the occupant sensor (an $800 part) to 15-years unlimited miles. Ours broke and was in the dealer on December 9th 2022. We took the car to the KIA dealer to have it accessed, it is definitely this occupant sensor issue. KIA tells us though that the car was sold on October 31st 2007, our car is then 1.5 months out of the warranty period. KIA will not honor the replacement of this known issue.
I wouldn't have written this complaint if it didn't have to do with the airbag system of the car; pretty important safety aspect of a vehicle. Very disappointed in the NHTSA for allowing KIA to not recall these vehicles. It also seems the announcement of the issue was not very public, we were never notified by mail or KIA service about the issue. In fact, the dealer had no clue what I was talking about, I had to find the NHTSA announcement and KIA document, print it and take it to them.
Desired outcome: I want KIA to supply the parts that repair this airbag system.

I purchased this vehicle from Kia of Wesley Chapel Florida on 3/16/2022. I bought a Certified Per-owned Service Contract from Perry Ritchter the Finance Manager. The mileage at the purchase was 33930. I live in Lakeland, Florida which is about 40 miles from Wesley Chapel, and I elected to have regel Kia in Lakeland service my vehicle. Over these eight months of having this car the Anti-collision warning light and check engine light has illuminated five (5) times and each time I took the vehicle to Regel for repair. I was told the first time was a Co2 sensor and a aftermarket part was installed. I drove the car for a couple weeks when the same lights came on a second time. I took the car back to Regel and I was told they had to install a factory CO2 sensor. Drove the car a few more weeks and the anti-collision and check engine light came on again. They said it was a different Co2 sensor and it needed to be ordered. A week later I am taking the car in to get this part replaced. Some time passed and the anti-collision light and check engine light came on again. That was this past Sunday. Monday morning, I took the car back to Regel Kia and they have not called or contacted me as to if or when I will get the car fixed.
On Monday, I called Mr. Richter to see if he would look into this situation and I have not heard anything from him. Likewise, I have not heard anything from Regel Kia service either. I have been very patient about the many times Regel has tried to fix this car. And at this writing the car it still at Regel Kia.
This is unacceptable customer service. Ether fix this piece of crap of give me a new car.

Service on vehicle
My car is currently at Ray Skillman Kia on Shadeland Ave. in Indianapolis. It has been there since Monday and according to them will probably not be done for 3 more weeks. They are telling me that they can’t give me a loaner car or a rental. This is ludicrous. I don’t know if too many people that have an extra car sitting around. This is very hard for me to find transportation to work and back.

2016 Kia Optimia
The automobile burns and leaks oil. I have to put oil in my car twice per week in order to keep it running. I have taken it to the shop time FOUR times and the issue has not been resolved. It has been very costly and upsetting. I took it to the shop on 4/6/2022 and it cost $720.15. I took it again for the same issue on 7/15/2022 and it cost 526.54. I took it again for the same issue on 9/7/2022 and it cost 143.48. And finally, I took it for the SAME ISSUE on 9/15/2022 and it cost $249.80.
On top of that, someone tried to break into my car to steal it on 11/25/2022. Kia has made it EXTREMELY EASY to steal. How unprofessional! I filed a police report. The police stated that an USB Port can start the car.
I am truly unsatisfied with this vehicle.
Desired outcome: I would like to be refunded for the expenses to get the same problem fixed, which still is unresolved. I would like to turn this vehicle in.
Unprofessional business
11-22-22 I went in to look at cars (after they kept calling to trade in my current Kia) looked online and found two vehicles I liked one jeep (which they never could find where it was located and just didn't even bother selling to me) and one Kia Sportage. Called my bank on 23rd and they said they would finance. 24th was a holiday and 25th I had our thanksgiving and told GM when he called that I would Get with my bank on Monday, Monday (28th) came they called kia dealer to get sales invoice (cause the original was wrong one) signed contract with bank. 29th got insurance on car let Kia dealer know I signed contract and got insurance. Kia dealer stopped communicating with bank and with me.. see a post Tuesday night they sold my car that I already had signed bank contract on and got insurance on.. this Abilene Dealership was very very unprofessional they knew it was already being purchased but from the beginning they were being Shaddy since I told them I had my own financing. So needless to say my daughter didn't get the car she picked out because they would rather do in house financing and sale a car from underneath someone. I have never known a dealership to be so awful and unprofessional.
Car engine will not engage will not start
My Kia 2015 optima first went into limp mode only allowing you to drive barely 25 miles an hour it then was taken in for a number of recalls that were not even completed during the first visit. They finally got the Rico's done wiring harness, bearing test and I was informed that the bearing test has passed they're specifications. We were out of a vehicle for over 3 weeks and when we got it back you would have thought it would run 10 times better but that wasn't the case. A few weeks later on the interstate driving right at 80 mph in the closest interior Lane next to barricade and it completely shut down, all the electrical was just fine therefore not the alternator shot across the lanes almost got hit by four different vehicles with my 9 year old son in the car. We have been out of a vehicle system first of August due to their work capacity they are telling me that I need a new battery and another company that I need a new starter well they already put the battery in and I can't see putting a starter in because I think they're nothing but liars. If anyone has any advice about this please let me know
Desired outcome: Honestly, my money back from the beginning of the auto loan and my credit back! This vehicle and Kia motors have single-handedly managed to drop my credit score 210 points which is utterly ridiculous!
Recall
I took my Kia Soul in to a Kia dealer when I received a letter informing me that
there was a recall.
The letter stated that I would be reimbursed for the costs.
I sent the invoice in to the company (attached to the letter).
I did have a tail light replaced which I wasn't planning on the recall paying for.
I payed for it myself.
I got a call from the company who was supposed to reimburse saying that because the tail light was replaced they would not reimburse me.
I feel that I should be reimbursed for the recall charges which they said they
were not going to do.

2015 Kia Motor
My car stopped running so I had it towed to Bob Howard Motors. They told me it needed a new battery and a new starter. After these items were replaced the mechanic started the car and the engine started locking up.
Now they tell me that I need a new motor! I am 80 years old and on a fixed income. I don't have the money to buy a new motor. When I purchased the car I also bought a service contract, but the company said they would not cover the engine either. Could you please help me out with this problem? I know it's a lot to ask, but I have nowhere else to turn! Please help!
Evasive service for broken air conditioners
I bought a kia Sportage hibrid 2023 four months ago .The air condioner is inoperable as of the last two weeks since November 15 2022.I have taken my car back to the dealer in US1 florida and in corraspondance with GM Marcello .
The dealer has constantly made it sound it is my human error due to excessive driving of 5 months .He promised my car to be repaired however gave me back my car with the same issue of NO AIRCONDIONING after a fiull day of repair.
This is very comprmoising as i live in Sunny state Florida with a brand new car but still with no aircondioning
To add insult to injury the GM tried rent me a 2023 Teluride however i had to pay additonall 500.00 per month ontop of my present Sportage car note stating only until Kia lets them know what to do next .
I am very displeased with their actions and abuse of my situation inclusive of my car still not repaired .
now they say if may be my air filters however want to xharge me for them as well.
Desired outcome: Please respond with repair and or new car of same make and model as i have suffered enough .I have puctures of the filters they say is the issue yet they said they already changed .
2023 Kia Sportage plug-in hybred
For the first month I had my car it worked fine. I fully charge to battery every morning and night so that when I drive it is always on a full charge. Now, even with a full battery charge, the motor also runs. I can tell by checking the icon that shows where the power is coming from. It shows the power to the front wheels coming from the battery and at the same time from the engine I set it on electric mode, eco setting and still both battery and the engine run at the same time.

I am having a continual problem with KIA Financing. Not with my monthly payments. The problem is obtaining a document from them. I first wrote them on 8/30/22, and as of this date, neither I or AZ-DOT has received the requested document. Almost 3 months now. I moved to AZ and asked KIA Finance for the exact document to be sent to AZ-DOT. Three months now and no document prepared or sent to AZ-DOT. Please help. Please
