I never received the complete set of keys for my new Kia Rhondo. I had to complain for 8 months, during which time I actually got into a verbal dispute with my sales rep Eddie Bae. He is the only Korean Sales Rep, in a large Korean community. This is why I went to him, due to my lack of english. But now, the thought of how he handles clients who are unable to defend themselves due to a language barrier frightens me. I too felt discriminated against, but thanks to my step daughter, we fought for my extra set of keys. It was not an easy battle to fight, even with her assistance.
Furthermore, I later found out that the vehicle I had purchased, which I believed to be a new vehicle, was in fact a courtesy vehicle. When questioned Eddie, he ignored me, did not acknowledge my concerns, and failed to return my calls. I felt helpless and hopeless so I left the situation.
The final straw was when I went in to get my car serviced. Not only did it take 2 weeks, they failed to return my calls and I went into the dealership 3 times as I was informed that the car was ready only to find out that my car was NOT ready and they just wanted my courtesy car back. When my car was returned to me, there was an additional 300 and odd kilometers added to my milage.
My step daughter was furious and felt I was being discriminated against so she called the dealership. No one returned her call, not Eddie my Sales Rep, not the service manager Steve, GM Robert Cohen, owner Mark Ahnert, no one. Good to know these people take pride in their work.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yes i totally agree with you, all the sales reps and managers are irresponsible and don't treat you with respect. All i can say is karma is a ###! And their all in for a rood awakening when it hits them.
If anyone from kia west coquitlam is reading this. All you old geezer slimeball salesman and managers better think twice about screwing people over. You are eventually going to get hit by karma and i will be laughing when it happens. Hope all you guys there change how you are, not just at work but in life haha.
I am sorry to hear about the above customer who had a horrible experience at Kia West back in 2009. However, I sincerely doubt that you were discriminated against for being korean as your sales rep was also korean. Just because you werent respected as a customer doesnt give you the automatic right to pull the race card. My suggestion is for you to learn english so that next time you wont have to rely on anyone else when you are buying something. This is Canada, we speak english here.
I am Korean Canadian with Canadian citizenship and currently studying in New York. I came through this post because I am trying to file a complaint about Kia West. However after reading all the comments here I feel very offended by the last comment. This is Canada, but we are not demanded to speak only English here. My parents came to Canada in 2000 yet they still have trouble with English. I just hope that someone like you will not run into my parents and say such a thing like "Go back to your country". In fact, why not French? Why only English? This is Canada. A multicultural country, and my suggestion for you is to have some respect for others.
It's very concerning to hear and read all these posts. I hope all the above writers have had better luck with other dealerships. Sales representatives nowadays fail to show integrity and responsibility. It's shameful really.
I am a Korean Canadian and bought 2 vehicles from Eddy Pai from Kia West . To the person who wrote "this is Canada, we speak English here", that wasn't the point in the original complaint. Eddy Pai is NOT TO BE TRUSTED! When I bought my first vehicle, all he cared for was the money, not service. But, because he is a fellow Korean, I thought to give him another chance and bought the second vehicle. He has not changed! And I believe he never will. He is full of BS and does not care for you once the vehicle is purchased. For those who reads this comment because they want to buy a car from Kia West, I STRONGLY ADVISE DON'T! I now get my vehicles serviced and bought more from Applewood Kia. They have respect for you!
All their staff is rude and useless- korean or non-korean. We were treated rudely after we purchased the car and service doesn't give a crap about your time. I wouldn't say they are racist, but they just have terrible customer service. I went through a year or so to get my issues fixed with my car to no avail. don't waste your time. they won't care about you. go elsewhere.
I'm a salesman at Kia West and I take offense to being lumped in with other sales people at all. Regardless of race, creed, religion, financial status, or sex, I treat EVERY customer with complete respect and always go the full distance to ensure they are happy both before AND after the sale. How dare you write off an entire dealership because of one sales person. I can assure you there are sales people with questionable history at every dealership. They eventually get weeded out.
I'm sorry any of you had a bad experience here, but I have hundreds of thankful, satisfied and genuinely ecstatic testimonials from customers who will come back to me in the future. Not every customer can be satisfied. There will ALWAYS be the odd unhappy customer but if you want to talk karma, keep painting all of us here with the same brush. I take pride in my work. It's my chosen profession and if I start to get bad reviews, I'll fail at it. Not happy with someone else here? Come and see me for the best customer service out there. Ken.
ken you sold me my car and you not only lied to me and then swindled me out of my customer service report which you filled out yourself and tricked me into signing for an extra like a tank of gas or window rain covers but you never even came through on what you said then you passed me off to this [censored] bag finance ### who robbed me and added extended warrenty which i said i did not want and she f***in cheated me and said she would take it off and never did then not to mention getting robbed at the service department for a servicing to get my breaks done on a rio it cost me 800$ 500 for shop time what the f*** this is ### the whole dealership is a f***in joke all of you salesmen and sales ladies along with the management and finance poeople are all scammers and [censored] bags watch out mother f***ers pay backs commin large
i think kia west needs to be shut down they have no regards for customer service they just hungry for your money they'll do anything to screw you to make a buck ! i got a wash when i took my car in for that 800$ brake job that should of cost under 200$ and my car now is scratched to ### completly scratched from some ### who hand washed my car that never has ever been washed with a brush or whatever they are useing i only washed it ever in a touchless car wash or with a pressure washer never putting one mark on the paint job now it looks f***** ruined and ugly .
We never see the customer service reports. They go directly to you in the mail. Haha. Who are you?
I highly agree that this dealership is no good.
I recently bought a rio from this dealership. And here are the problems I had.
1. Car sales person did not know what she was talking about (Keren). I ask what's the difference between Rio LX+ and EX. She took it to the KIA website. Seriously? Even if she was new, who the hell hires these people?
2. The car had issues. Back sealbelt wasn't connected and there was a small (very hard to see) dent on the car. I went there (first visit) to get them fixed as promised. Seatbelt was fixed in a hour, good. Dent, no. They sent someone to look at it, he says he can't fix it. I called them, they said they'll give me a call back. After three business days, no calls. I went to the dealership (2nd time), says the manager isn't herre (Dusty) and just sent me back home, saying that he would call. I wait for the call, he doesn't call. I call over and over again and finally grab a reach of him. He said he would call back. He doesn't. I called again and again, and finally caught him. He tells me to come drop by the dealership so someone can 'see' it again. (Seriously? I already went there twice, everyone saw the dent. Who else needs to see it? Why not take a picture of it?
It's been about 3 weeks since I"ve purchased the car. This dent hasn't been fixed. Also did I mention that they (even BOTH the sales managers, including financial guy Tony) didn't know how First time buyers program worked? This wasn't deducted from the price, and they're 'guessing' that a check would come to my mail box sent from KIA Canada. 'GUESS'? If they don't know, I don't get who's suppoded to know this information?
I'm sorry you all had such terrible experiences. This was not the case when I went into purchase my 2012 Kia Soul recently. I found my salesperson to be very knowledgable and understanding. I don't like the high pressure sales tactics that I find at most dealerships, so I made that clear from the beginning when I sat down with Ken. He made me feel comfortable, and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase and experience. Heather helped me get financing, and she was just lovely to deal with.
I, personally, would recommend Kia West to my friends (and I have).
I just recently purchased a new Rio from a newly hired salesman named Dean and was extremely satisfied with his honesty and no-pressure attitude. I had been to several dealers before and found the other salespeople to be way too pushy.
Kia west has come a long way. The service department is much better due to new management. The waiting area is very nice as well. I always feel comfortable bringing my car to see Kelly. She helps me with exactly what I need and nothing more. Very polite and always friendly.
My forte koup is the first new car I have purchased. While the staff was friendly and helpful during my initial purchase, as soon as the deal was done the customer service I have received since has been utterly terrible. It has been a year since I purchased my car and despite NUMEROUS emails, phone calls, and dealership visits I have been unable to obtain the secondary key. Dusty has been extremely rude and aloof, completely unhelpful, and is always full of excuses with no results. For something as small as a secondary key which is owed to me in the first place, Kia West Coquitlam has lost me as a customer. My car will be taken to a different dealership for services and I most certainly will never do business with this dealership again nor recommend it. With a good dealership they understand that the relationship begins after the customer drives off the lot and this is something Kia West has failed at.
The place is a rip off and a bunch of dishonest thieves. What a Joke.
VERY POOR service., They are also crooked almost to the point of being criminal, they charge a 549.00 doc service fee and a 600.00 ac-nitrogen levy on a used SUV, , If CARMA rears its head it will be a bad day for coquitlam kia There is no need for this type of deception or greed in this dealership ..Seem like the kind of thing you would see in buying a car from the curb..NOT a dealership .I wonder if the owner is aware of how his staff is? So much for repeat business. Be carful who you deal with, to bad a few greedy people have to ruin what should be a great time in your life, , there are many respectable dealerships out there to bad this is not one of them...
Hello,
First off thank you for the used car that I purchased. Secondly your customer service and organization at your facility is not great. I had a very inconvenient time being at you facility to the point where I was going to take my business somewhere else. First off I had a car shown by David, nice guy but would budge for anything negotiating wise. I purchased a used 2014 Dodge Journey black, with 52000km on it, and market value was 24000, he wouldn't budge on lowering it down from 27995. Quite disappointed as I feel we were ripped off. On top of that Kia West wouldn't even bother replacing the worn out tires on the vehicle, they weren't a safety concern? Come on, now after spending 29000 on a "used" car, where I could of bought somewhere else "New" for the price, I have to go out and spend $1500 of my own money to buy new tires. If there was a way I could come back and cancel the agreement and return the vehicle I would and take my business somewhere else. Poor customer service at this location. On top of all this I had to go back 2 more times with the vehicle cause it was out of town, paperwork was unorganized, as they failed
To let me know that my wife had to be present to sign insurance papers and I had to cancel my plan. They said we will absorb the price of cancellation? Oh thanks Kia, I've been a Kia customer for almost 10 years, never again will I buy a Kia nor Coke back to Kia West. If I don't get a response to this, I will also tell everybody on social network NOT to do business with this dealership.
Thanks for nothing Kia West!
