No such survey! I was shocked! Since Sears has merged taking kmart shame on SEARS also! Both companies should know better. NO more shoping at Kmart, it's never clean, messy, rude employees and takes forever to check out. And they have even raised their prices. Cloths rips apart after one wearing. I purchased a portable dvd player and the"smart plan" for it. So if something went wrong with it, then it was covered and would be replaced at no cost to me. After all that is why I purchased the plan. I have all my receipts for it also by the way. I have been trying to get help through this company for months on end and have had nothing but would I would describe as lousy customer service. Let me mention that my niece works for kmart in the electronics dept. But I purchased it from another employee named casandra that day as my niece laura was off that day. Well needless to say after a few weeks, for some reason, the screen would not come on anymore. O. K... No problem right? Wrong!... As an employee of kmart my niece has to sit through a smartplan meeting through the smartplan company. They are supposed to cover the cost of it to be shipped back to them, not i, the customer. It even states it in there brochure. Not only did this company not have a copy of their own newest brochure, ny niece had to fax them their own brochure! Is that not crazy? Well we certainly thought so. My neice has tiyed to get this solved for me but with no luck. So... Ok... They said alright we will send you a new return label that will have postage already. So, today I go to the post office here where I live in hudson, florida, and the postal guy says... That will be $8. 63... I was like... No its supposed to be taken care of by the label they sent me to put on the package... The mans like... Mam the totals $8. 63 are you paying the postage due or not? Now with a large line of people lookin at me like a complete #... Rather than be embaressed any further I just paid it... I will never make a purchase from kmart again. They should have a reliable company for their customers. It may not be kmarts fault but they choose to use this company. I have yet to have this resolved.

I have a complaint not about false advertising, but about another matter. My daughter, granddaughter & I were just at the Sevierville, Tennessee K-Mart and their air-conditioners were not working. The temperature out side was 94 & it was atleast that or hotter inside the store. The employees were complaining & customers were walking out. The manager was telling folks their temperature was not controlled from within, then I asked the cashier where it was controlled from & she said their corporate office in Texas. Well...I'm sure it was hotter in Texas today that it was in Tennessee! I think that controlling store temperatures from one state to another is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard...and if that is the case & our local store is going to be that hot everytime I go there to shop, then its good-bye from me! I hope you will reconsider your choices & let the managers maintain their own stores.

I went back in and posted positive comments, and was able to complete the survey, although my shopping experience was negative. had to change checkouts 4 times they were either running down a price check or going to lunch or register not working so changed lanes 4 times before someone finally could do their job what a hassle very unhappy hire some people to do price checks and have back up for lunch do something very bad experience. my receipt #[protected] i think not printed clear on paper

Don't blame the staff for price checks--that's those whiny people that complain, "That said $9.98 on the display but rang up at $9.99". It's not the staff's fault they have to do price checks.
portable psp
i visited this store at x-mas and purchased a portable psp and still have my original receipt. Last week my son was playing with this game and he laid it down for dinner went back to get it and inside the game the screen was cracked and not on the outside which was very unusual. It was like maybe a default because usually the outside screen cracks. I took the game back to the store and still had the original box and receipt which stated that any item on this receipt could be returned by 3/20/09 and that psp was on the receipt. I was told by a manager I am assuming that I should have purchased a warranty and it would have been covered and that I should have read the back of the receipt. When you have spent over $200 of your hard earned money to buy a x-mas present and it does not hold up with in an expected frame of time at least until next x-mas you would expect your money back or a replacement. I received neither, simply I was told to have a good day and sorry. For the amount of money I have spent with Kmart and the amount of money spent for that particular toy I should have been reimbursed. Please tell me what can I do to get this matter settled, and do I need an attorney. I really like shopping at this store and have spent lots of dollars in there layaway and just visiting it on a weekly basis. Some of the employees know me by name. I probably will never buy another electronic toy from kmart and after today I really am not sure about shopping there. It is awful that you have a favorite store and get treated like this. I doubt your son could have managed to crack the inside of the psp screen so thinking on it im sure it was a defect that they sold you which happens every now and then. What concerns me is that they didn't offer you the warranty at the register. Oh and mr. jason, lay off, you really need to learn to talk to people with so respect. Seriously dude, no one likes to hear your crap. Stop being an ### to everyone that has a complaint and jump off of a bridge so i don't have to read your garbage again.

Kmart is giving out receipts that say they value your feedback and you could win a $2500 gift card. Well the web site doesn't exist; also on this particular visit one product I had picked up had a lower price than what the cashier scanned. When I questioned her she in turn questioned me back twice about was I sure then told me that it was not on sale! I in turn told her to take the product off my bill I didn't want it. She never once offered to do a price check; a really bad attitude! Also every time you go in the store there's one cash register open and customer service that's it so you're gonna wait... Kmart doesn't value their customers!

I went christmas eve to kmart in madisonville, ky to get a few gifts I still needed to get. After christmas I took back an outfit that didn't fit my daughter and she got something in place of it. The women that waited on us didn't give me my receipt back and I didn't notice that she didn't until I got home due to them closing and rushing everyone out. My mom calls me today and says that the birthstone ring that I bought her there on christmas eve had broke that the peg that held the stone in broke and the stone fell out and she can't find it. She looked everywhere and still she can't find the stone. I called the kmart store and told them and asked about her returning it for a replacement and the manager told me that the stone wasn't guaranteed and that their wasn't nothing they could do for me and also they wouldn't without a receipt. I told her how they kept the receipt when I brought my daughters outfit back and she said what day and I told her. She was acting so snooty. I told her no one is going to want to buy something for someone for christmas and two weeks later it break and them not honor the sale and exchange it. She said that was their policy. This is stupid I have bought things from stores in the past and even have exchanged them without a receipt when it was bought as a christmas present. I asked her if the could look through their receipts for the returns for that day and she didn't act like they could do it so I told her that was the least they could do since they kept the receipt. I just think kmart is out to rip the consumer off as much as they can. I don't know of one store besides them around this area that don't take a christmas gift back for an exchange two weeks after christmas.

I visited the website and there was no place to enter my reciept number for the survey, nor a survey to take. I feel that this is an injustice to all customers of kmart. The reciept states, "kmart values your feedback tell us about your experience & you could win a $2, 500 kmart gift card. I don't know if this statement of mine will do any good, but things such as this make one think twice about doing business with them when they lie about valuing your feedback as a customer. when visiting the store we found long register lines and cashiers repeating pages overhead for manager assitance on the front end , when responce came from the manger, two of the three cashiers open required help, and the lines were 6 people deep at the registers. also i had a reciept for customer feedback, but the site kmartfeedback has no prompt for the customer survey. my receipt # [protected]. not a very good showing for kmart this early into the holidat season.

I read the complaintsd about their receipts in Dec. 2007, and I just got the same receipt in September 2008. Still weith the survey and $2500. gift card. They need to correct this people are spending time looking for this survey which can't be found. I will not shop there again for this reason. On Dec. 22, 2008 I purchased a Mamma Mia DVD from Amazon online. It arrived at my home in the mail on Dec 29th. I live 35 miles from Enid so I called some friends there and asked them if they would like me to bring it down to their house and we all watch it together. The next day I put it in my purse and drove to Enid. I needed some cough syrup and Vicks cream so I stopped at KMART there to purchase it. As I was going out the door the machine went off saying I was taking something out that I obviously shouldn't be, so I stopped in wonderment because all I had was what I bought. Then I remembered I had put that dvd in my purse but could see no reason why it would cause that to go off in KMART when I had purchased it online at Amazon! The clerk from the customer service desk came over and scanned it and it had the same barcode as the ones in KMART-why I have no idea. She wouldn't let me have it even after I explained I had purchased it online and called some man up to the desk that so much as told me I had taken it from their store and wouldn't let me have it back. He went down back and brought one up and the store's had a KMART sticker on it and mine didn't and told me I would have to go get the packaging it came in or I couldn't have it back. I had thrown it in the trash. A friend called me on my cell phone at that time and said she would go into my e'mail and print out the receipt I got from Amazon for it and fax it over to KMART. The woman at the service desk was being extremely rude and totally ignoring me and would not give me the fax number. Another woman walked up to the desk that worked in the pharmacy and gave the fax number for over there, but only after I threatened to call the police. My friend faxed the receipt to that number and they took their sweet time about even bothering to look at it. Then she called the guy back to come and look at it and he did and then asked for my license, I guess to prove it was me. Then he handed me the dvd-never appologizing for the inconvenience or anything. This time totalled to over 1 1/2 hours. I am a 64 year old disabled woman with a very bad back that has bothered me ever since this happened. I am considering calling a lawyer about the pain and agony they put me through. I had a very good upbringing and have never stolen a thing in my entire life. I feel these people should be fired for treating customers in this manner. I will never shop in KMART again! I hope everyone reads this complaint and stops shopping there because there is no need to be so hateful.

Something similar happened to me not long ago. I was in the local Kmart waiting for my girlfriend to finish trying on clothes and I had wandered over to the entertainment section and had picked up the newest season of American Dad. I had been wandering the store for 10 minutes with the case in my hand looking at the book section and having a look at the jeans. When a store employee walked up to me and accused me of trying to steal the DVD. It is important to note that the DVD season is inside one of those very secure locked cases that are made of extremely durable plastic, and the case that holds the DVD's is also locked. Anyway this man accused me of stealing and told me that I was trying to steal it from inside the case. By the way, it is also important to note that I am an IT networking administrator and I frequently perform small fixes or changes to computer or server hardware in the workplace and I wear a Swiss army knife object on my belt (although it doesn't have any blades, just different screwdriver types and a magnifying glass), to perform these quickly and conveniently instead of retrieving my 300 tool kit because it is cumbersome to carry all the time. Anyway back to story. Once I was approached by this man he said that I was trying to steal this DVD from a very secure by trying to open the case. He at that point noticed the mini toolkit on my belt and told me that I was trying to open it with that even though it was still inside the cloth holster it is buckled into. He asked to look at it because he kept accusing me of having a hidden blade and once I showed him that it had no blade on it he told me that I was trying to jimmy it open when he approached. Although it was nowhere near my hand at the time. He then told me to pay for it and get out because he was calling the cops, needless to say I dumped it on the nearest shelf in anger and left refusing to buy it because of the shoddy treatment. This incident has angered me to the point where I no longer wish to be anywhere near a Kmart. Is this the kind of treatment people are to expect at Kmart, false accusations and threats of police and arrests where none are warranted.
kmart store ( 3725) is full of unprepared associates.They are not aware of what the store really has in stock and they are not well trained.I am very upset because I went to kmart located in watsonville and nobody was able to help me with a furniture carry out.I ask an associate to help me and he just walked away.I was shocked to find out that the person I had ask for help and who ignored me was a manager.I'm never shopping at kmart again, I rather drive all the way to walmart were I will get the service I deserve as a customer.I already got a hold of corporte and I hope they do take some action
Loss Prevention in our local town stinks! One ASSociate is a complete and total bully. Recently, he detained a young girl standing out side the men's restroom. The girls (I think she is about 16) was holding a BB rifle her brother (old enough to buy the gun) purchased. Receipt was taped on the rifle. Brother had to go to the restroom and asked sister to hold the rifle for a few minutes. As she was standing there, the loss prevention guy approached her and demanded to know why she was holding the gun. This was said very loudly and customers (including myself) overheard him. He implied that she was trying to steal the gun. About then, the brother came out and saw his sister's fearful look. He was angry and rightfully so. He told the loss prevention guy he had paid for the gun and had the receipt. At that, the loss prevention guy told them to "C'mon. We are going to the office. Now!" He then called the police on them. WHY? The police let them go. My point is -- this guy is only capable of interacting in a rude and beligerent manner. And obviously only with those who are easily intimidated. He should be terminated! I apologize that this happened to you Ma'am. I work as a Loss Prevention associate at another store in another part of the country. We cannot detain anyone unless we see the individual enter the store, enter the department, select the item, and then leave the store with the item without paying for it. Obviously, they could not have seen you select that item from the Electronics department, so they did not have enough elements of proof to detain you. It sounds like not one of those store employees was Loss Prevention - KMART only authorizes Loss Prevention associates to detain people for shoplifting.
I would advise you to call the corporate number for KMART and file a formal complaint. You may want to tell them the exact date, time, and store location of the incident. Corporate will then do a full investigation of the matter and ensure that steps are in place to prevent this from happening again.

When you put on your reciepts that we could win a 2,500 gift card I was happy,excited because I had a great story to tell you. But what can I say, you missed out. My grandma was going to give me half of it and she was going to keep the rest and buy a plasma high definition flat screen TV. But is she going to buy it any more, of course not! She owns a business and was going to put it there and put a sign over it that said,'' This is what I got at kmart!" Now we are never ever going to go to kmart again!

why waste the customers time and register tape on a non existant survey. Like most of the kmarts the associates are generally rude; can't find someone to assist unless one searches in different areas; trying to find prices is a complete joke;selection in electronics is a joke. Whoever is CEO best get up away from his desk and do something serious about the stores, or close them. thanks to the inept way the kmart is run I am now forced to go to Bakersfield and spend my money at walmart. Wake up!
On a better note: The staff in the Pharmacy at #7287 are highly professional. The rest of the stores certainly could take some lessons from them.

I was in the Kmart in Danville Va yesterday 12/21 at 1:19 pm Only 1 front register was open, with about 12 people lined up in it, since I only had about 12 items I walked back to electronics, there were 2 people in line. The cashier was very hateful, called the manager back there and told her that she couldn't do anything for people coming back to check out. I told them both they needed to open more registers up front, that it was riduculous to have only 1 register open up front at this time of the year.

I left merchandise at store, I called them to let them know and they put it back on the shelves anyway.
I accidently left merchandise at the kmart store. I immediately called the store when I realized I didn't have everything when I returned home. They told me it was there. I told them to please put my name on the merchandise and I would return to pick it up. I live approximately 30 miles and I own a restaurant and returning as soon as I realized I left it there was impossible for me to do right away. I had christmas parties to take care of at my restaurant for two days and I could not return until the third day. When I returned they did not have my merchandise, but then discovered that it had been returned to the shelves. They did write down two of the items, but a third item was missing. The clerk said that it wasn't written down and she couldn't do anything about it. I think that this is very poor business on their part. I not only had to walk all the way back to the store to get my merchandise that I had left, but I didn't get all of it back or refunded. My receipt# is [protected].

I was shopping with a client of mine on Tuesday the 16th. He had a purchase order from DHHS for household items. He purchased a bed in a bag from the Auburn KMART. When he returned home he realized they had forgot to put the item in the cart. He had quite a few items and needed two carts. The following day when I went into work my client informed me of the missing bed in a bag. I called the Auburn, ME Kmart and explained my situation and the lady was very friendly, but placed me on hold to speak to another lady. They said they don't know of anything being left behind and asked me for my number so someone could call me back. They never called me back! So I called and spoke to a third lady. She asked what the item looked like and went to try and find it, while i was on hold. She came back and said she thinks she found one like i t but it was a twin. I informed her that he had purchased a queen. She said i will hold this for you in layaway and you can just come in and pick one up that you like. So it's Saturday and i make a special trip to Auburn 45 minutes to pick up my clients bed in a bag and... once a gain got the run around. I explained to the lady at customer service who got the manager. He went to check layaway to see if the set was there. I happened to see the guy who cashed us out. I had a feeling he would remember us since it was his first purchase order and he needed help form another lady. They DO NOT give out receipts so I have no proof that my client purchased a bed in a bag. The manager went with me to see if we could find the bed in a bag. They were sold out of the exact one my client picked out. I asked if i could just grab one similar and the same price. He informed me that i could not. The only way to get another one is have my clients caseworker dispute it with Kmart. In the mean time my client is left without a bedding set all because it was never put into the cart. You would think if something was left behind they would hold it for you . I asked what they do with things left behind and they said it goes into carts and then put back of the shelfs. I was not very satisfied with Kmarts customer service. How hard would it be to look up the purchase order with my clients name on it. Also ask the staff that worked that night about a bed in a bag being left behind. Surely someone picked it up and returned it. I personally will not shop at Kmart again unless this gets resolved. I will also make sure our agency does not get purchase orders for Kmart.

I received a bath gift set as a Christmas gift, but due to allergies, don't use many scented bath products. My husband brought it to Kmart today to get store credit. No, of course we didn't have a receipt. The item was unopened. They would not take the item back without a receipt. He went and got an identical item from a store display to show they sell it, talked to a manager, but still, they refused to take it back. So now I'm stuck with an item that I'll never use and will end up just "regifting" or letting it get dusty on a shelf until I come across it 5 years from now, then throw it away. But it's okay because Kmart got their $$$ for it. It doesn't matter if we're happy or not. Customer Service? Not even close.

kjohnsono8, there is a thing called a gift receipt that whoever gave her this gift should have supplied. It seems the original poster should be mad at the person who gave the gift. Also, as pointed out by sonyvega, the OP has no idea if this was even purchased from Kmart. Why should Kmart accept a return of a product that may have been purchased from Walmart?

bad customer service
I went online to Kmart.com a week ago to look for a video game and was told it was out of stock and that I could sign up for a notification when it was back in stock. Signed up and received an email a few days later. Within 1hr of receiving email that it was back in stock I ordered online along with a few other items. Then a few hours later I was told that the item was in stock and my order for that item was canceled, but not the other items. I immediately called Kmart, within only 3hrs of the order being placed originally, and they told me that it was too late and that the other items would ship.
I am being told now that I have no choice but to try to catch the UPS man or if they leave the package to contact them and have it returned. This is going to cost me time and potentially money if I have to take the package to the UPS facility. It is ridiculous.

This complaint is regarding my return of damaged merchandise from Order Number #[protected] of November 14, 2007. I have not been issued a refund from the item I returned via UPS on November 20, 2007 and I was told that I would have to wait until a "research request" was processed (10 days) then it would be issued (3-5 days).
I spoke with a manager, Angela (993451) on the phone January 10, 2008 and I've never been treated so badly by a customer service representative in all of my life. Here's an example: Angela said that it showed that a credit was issued, when I asked her when that credit was issued she firmly said "Do not interrupt me, mam". She told me that the credit was issued on December 3rd, I explained that I called to follow up on my refund on that day and I was sent a return receipt on that day stating it would take 30 more days. I assume that Kmart doesn't record its customer service calls as the employees are free to treat customers so rudely.
I then asked her if she could send me an email confirmation that the research request was made, she said �I don't know what good that will do". Needless to say I was extremely disappointed in the KMART phone customer service. I've never had to wait this long for a refund for damaged merchandise and I still have no resolution. In addition, I was treated badly.
I'm still waiting for my issue to be resolved. I�m a loyal customer and I hope to remain one. I am due a refund of $141.20.
I stopped at Kmart after work to get a few needed items and ended up spending $58 total. My cashier handed memy receiopt along with a Kmart store coupon which reminded me of the coupon that I just remembered I had from a visit before. The coupon was for $5 off $50 or more and had to be used by Nov. 15, 2008. Since today is Nov. 10, I knew that I wouldn't be back to use it in that short timespan so I went to the customer service desk with my purchases and receipt and asked if I could use this coupon and that I had forgotten about it until I was already rung up...she just said..."Nope...you'll just have to come back and use it by the 15th". I felt like a crook for even asking...she was so rude and her name is Barb Livingston.
Why order online STUPID? If you are not lazy like most consumers go to the store and buy the product in person.

The Kmart smart plan is the PITTS. They donot want to give you the form of payment in which you purchased the product. I purchased a Xbox 360 Kinect they no longer carry them so I can't purchase another. I should have the option to have return monies placed back on my credit card so I may go somewhere else and purchase another or something equal in value for my grandson. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN FROM KMART NO TVS, NOTHING ELECTRONIC!WALMART IS THE PLACE TO GO NO PROBLEMS WITH GETTING YOUR MONIES BACK!
Here is the only thing i can get back from buying into the Purchase of the KSMART PLAN the lesson of not buying into K-Mart or Sears again. NOT ONE CENT TO SEARS OR KMART AGAIN. Lesson learned, I can't belive that at one time I worked for Kmart and they had a thing about refunding to any complaint. Later I worked for Sears as a service man and all the time they harped about trying to sell these insurance plans. They didn't ever like my work because I felt I was hired as a Service person and was good at that, not selling scams. So I never sold one that I can remmber. I feel very good about that today.

inverness, fl k-mart, bought diehard 19.2 drill at k-mart, not sears, in June 2012, they sold me the replacement plan for $ 8.99 plus $40 for the drill. today it went bad 11/19/2012, go to k mart to replace it. they dont replace things. had to call the smart plan number. they send me a UPS shipping label i box up the drill send it back and they send me a k mart gift card for $40, instead of a replacement, if i want a replacement, that drill now costs $79.95 so thats $40 more plus their replacement gift card. sounds a little like false and deceptive advertising to me, needless to say k-mart has lost any future business from me and i will tell everyone i know, what sleazy tactics they use and tomorrow will see about makeing a consumer complaint with tallahassee
I agree with you. I purchased the smart plan for the Wii console and remotes. After one month, one of the remotes stopped working. It took me 3 weeks to speak with a live person. Then another 2 weeks to get the return label to me. First it was going to be sent to me via email, never received it. Called and said this is a scam as I have not received promoised return label. Low and behold, within 3 days had a return label in my PO Box. I packaged it up and went to the local UPS dealer and it cost me $2.89 extra to send it back. I have not received my monies of $39.99 for the remote yet and its been almost 5 weeks! NEVER AGAIN..WILL JUST TAKE MY CHANCE ON THE NEXT PURCHASE if there will be another next time with KMart. I am getting my Wii stuff from Wal-Mart now.
Kmart associates are pressured to sell this item as it is a great money maker for Kmart. Unfortunately, this insurance is VERY difficult for a customer to get a legitimate problem fixed and it creates animosity toward KMart. Since KMart's name is on the paperwork, the customer gets the false sense of security that if their item breaks or fails it will be replaced in a quick and professional manner. This is NOT true.
The Kmart "smart plan" is a cheap insurance plan that "claims" to offer repair or replacement for items purchased at Kmart that fail or break.
Anyone considering purchasing the "Kmart Smart Plan" should be advised. IF they approve your return or replacement, the minimum turn around time for this is more than 30 days.
Although many Kmart associates may tell you that this insurance plan is easy and simple, this is not true. Most Kmart associates have no idea of the process.
Since this "insurance" is covered by an outside company, all returns and replacements are handled by a series of phone calls to Kmart Smart Plan center. You will need to prepare yourself for a couple hours on the phone.
You will probably be denied at first by the "smart plan" folks and you may have to call a customer support number for the company of the item you purchased. (for example: if you purchased a littermaid box - you'll have to call littermaid)
Once you have been denied, you can try calling "smart plan" and begging for a return. They may give an ok, if they do, then they will send you a UPS tag.
You will then need to package up the item at YOUR OWN COST and can use the tag they e-mail you to send the item back to them.
Then you can wait about a week until they get the item and then you will be told that it will take an additional 10-15 days to get a gift card back to Kmart. Once you get the gift card, you can go shopping again at Kmart.
If you purchased a tv - then no tv for 30+ days. If you purchased a refrigerator, then you have to eat out for 30+ days. If you purchased an electric litter box, then you get to scoop kitty pooh for 30+ days. - Get the idea?
