Kohl's condescending customer service experience at cortlandt manor ny kohl's with "colleen"

I returned this evening (11/23/17) from my Thanksgiving Eve shopping with my soon to /be mother-in-law at the Kohl's Cortlandt Manor NY location and even a few hours later I am still irate about the treatment we received during our visit. In the past I used to work in retail, mostly in management for roughly 8 years and had the unenviable shifts of hav ing to work on black friday/the night shift on Thanksgiving on more then a few occasions, so I can easily relate to[ the displeasure that can come along with the shift, but always made sure to maintain a level of courtesy when dealing with customers no matter what. This particular evening my soon to be mother in law received none of this from one particular self-important, arrogant, and condescending blonde employee, I believe 30-40 year female employee named Coleen (no name tag, had to ask the cashier this woman's name. The first stance was simple enough. We were looking for an appliance in the flyer that was advertised for $49.99. We mad the mistake of disrupting Coleen from her vital post of directing shoppers to open registers and asked why the appliance we saw in the flyer for $49.99 had a matching display except the price sign stated "$79.99:" for the same matching item when Colleen asked us "can we read? Since the sign on the display clearly said $79.99" we then double checked and saw the items matched even right down to matching UPC at which point we were told "oh well we need to accept sometimes signs get displayed incorrectly" we said thanks any way, placed the item back on the shelf, gathered our items and proceeded to check out. As our items were being rung up by a very sweet associate (Selena or Yelina I believe, at register 4 or 5 I think) and sure enough the Cuisinart Toaster over that was $44.99 (the displays' sign correctly confirmed that) however it was ringing at the register at $70. Our good friend Colleen got called over again and stated to my future mother in law, in a very disgusted, condescending tone "That price is obviously after mail in rebate and that it is clearly stated in fine print, that we must be stupid or something to of not of read the fine print and must not know how sales fliers work if we don't even know how to read the fine print" followed by Colleen walking off with an annoyed and disgusted/disapproving look, making her superiority complex very blatant. Even the cashier couldn't believe how we had just been spoken down to like that. The cashier sincerely apologized, and as we finished our substantial transaction (substantial enough that we earned $45 in Kohl's cash) and I politely asked for the name of the "Nice lady who had assisted us' (Colleen) and proceeded to leave the store offended and enraged contemplating ever returning to that location where we had had countless positive experiences. I don't know if this report goes to the correct department to see and take action or if this is just a message board for customers to air their experiences, but if it is just a message board then I hope that Colleen is reading this so that she is not surprised when this story is heard by the correct management department who will hopefully take the appropriate
corrective action is taken against her as I will be relaying this story further to store management (and corporate if need be) so that other innocent Kohl's customer do not have the unfortunate dealings with this "Colleen" person who clearly does not belong in this customer service oriented line of work. In the meantime myself, the rest of my family as well friends and families of friends seriously contemplate future patronage of this store's location(Address: 3008 E Main St, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567)
and reconsider the reputation of this company, because this is not the treatment that paying customers deserve, so I hope that mistreating and talking down to paying customers is not a corporate core value and that as a company something will be done to rectify this problem and offer some sort of incentive to at least re-instill our confidence of this family of previously loyal customers.

Kohl's customer service help

I went to Kohls at 515 pm looking to purchase 2 pair of power beats3 headphones I walk around for 15 mins trying to find someone to help me I ask multiple associates for help they told me they would get someone. After waiting 15 mins I went to customer service and complained and they page someone. Still no one came so finally I went to the assistant manger and complained then someone did show up. I had to go to customer service to pick up my item and had to waitt an additional 15 to 20 mins before I was serviced. I got to the counter and there was a price discrepancy on line the price was 159.99 in the store the item was 199.99 so I brought the issue up to the assistant manager and she explained that I had to buy the item online and pick it up in the store to get that price. So I ask if I order online now can I pick it up she told me it an hour to two hour wait time. Smh waste of my time

Kohl's horrible customer service

What the heck is that? I purchased one item, but changed my mind in a minute and tried to cancel my order. They refused to do it. The system said the order was shipped.
What? I called the customer service department and they said the system showed the same status. It meant they couldn't do anything about it.
I know it was a huge mistake of their system, but I don't think that they couldn't improve it. It's not a huge creature, it's not even alive, and a human being can always stop most of the processes in systems.
What I am talking about is that their support is full of lazy a&&es who don't want to waste their precious time on us, their customers...

Kohl's customer service department

I've been shopping at this store since it opened and have always received excellent customer service. Just last week a young man went above & beyond to help me find what I needed. He was delightful.

In a time when retailers are trying to lure shoppers back into the store, I can guarantee I won't be returning after my experience today.

My husband and I stopped to buy a winter coat. Not only was the department extremely messy and the stock very disorganized, the selection was very sparse. We finally found a coat, but not the size we needed. We couldn't find a salesperson, so we went to the Customer Service desk. "Customer service" referred us to a self-serve kiosk. It was tucked into a very crowded and blocked niche. It barely worked. After 20 minutes trying to order 1 item, a manager was finally able to get our order processed. The manager explained that no one in the store can help a client order a product that is not in stock.

Since when does customer service rely on a malfunctioning kiosk? My money can better be spend where I am valued as a customer. I can tell you that I felt completely devalued as a client and a person.

It sounds like one isolated negative experience. Mistakes and technical issues do happen unfortunately. You should be more understanding after so many positive experiences. Never visiting the store again seems like an overreaction, but it is your right. I'm glad you don't consider yourself a loyal customer.

Kohl's men's lee premium

2 pair of jeans were purchased this summer and on both pair the left rear pocket on the side ripped and the fabric shredded. And the pocket also. This has never happened The fabric had to be flawed for this to happen. My husband is retired so it's evident that. It doesn't have anything to do with working on a job. I would appreciate it if you can give a credit to purchase new jeans.

Kohl's use of promo code

On November 16, 2017 I was sent a 30% Promo Code. I placed an order used the Promo Code, merchandise credit and my Kohl's card to purchase it.

The order was cancelled I was told for security reasons, I went about ordering it again and was told I couldn't use the Promo Code since the order was canceled.

I then received another Promo Code. Why was I sent a Promo Code again when I was told I couldn't use the first one?

Kohl's shipping problem

I placed an order on Kohls.com. When I received my confirmation email I noticed it had the wrong address. I immediately called to change the address. They said it was too late, the order was being processed. They told me they would file an incident report with FedEx and gave me the incident number. That was on Nov 15th. Nov 17th I get the email that my order was being delivered to the address 1, 100 miles away. I called FedEx and the incident report had never been filed. Now I had to block the shipment and will not receive the merchandise I purchased on sale. I asked the person at Kohls.com where my order was being shipped from...Dominican Republic.

Kohl's kohl's cash

I placed an order on October 29, 2017 that totaled 379.00. I had earned $70 in kohls cash. Not realizing how soon my Kohl's cash expired (which was my fault) my Kohl's cash was expired. I called customer service tonight and they said I can go to a Kohl's store within 10 days of the expiration date and talk to the manager. That is all fine and good but I would have to go to the store tomorrow. I live an hour away from a Kohl's store and I am having to work overtime tomorrow so I will not be able to go.
I was told this is all that can be done for me. I have shopped at Kohl's for several years and do most of my shopping online because of the distance.
This is the first time I have called regarding something like this. I am very disappointed and upset.
I have decided this was my last purchase at Kohl's. I thought customer loyalty meant something but that is not the case.

They allowed you to go ten days past the printed expiration date. That sounds like pretty good customer service in my opinion as it was completely your error. It does not sound like you are taking any responsibility here.

Kohl's store 29700 jessica is the manager

I has to quit today November 11, 2017 due to me being in Arkansas while my grandmother is on life support. I don't know when I will be back due to my family situation. Jessica was very unsympathetic to my family crises. Instead of her using leadership skills on the phone with me, Jessica was extremely rude and said "that sounds good... I said what do I need to do? And very rude she stated " I will take care of it... and then hung the phone up in my face with no conclusion to the phone call. Her rude demeanor was disgusting and poor. My family is going though a hard time right now and the way she just treated me on the phone is very sad, poor leadership skills, and lack of caring for others. I will never shop here or recommend anyone to work here again.

Kohl's plastic seams in mock turtleneck irritate skin

I have a whole drawer full of different turtleneck and mock truth shirts that I wear all winter. Some are older Croft & Barrow brand. But the new ones I bought this year have a heavier clear plastic sewn into the shoulder seams for some reason - maybe they think it keeps the shoulders from stretching (it doesn't) - but the plastic "seam liner" has edges that stick out and "stick into" my skin. It [censored]les and itches, and in one spot caused a red blister to form because of a sharp end sticking out at a 3-way seam junction. Very hard to see what the real problem was since it is nearly invisible and sewn in with the plastic side hidden, but is definitely uncomfortable. I was able to nip the pointed ends with my sewing scissors (you can see one of those pointed ends in the attached photo), but the entire shoulder seams are still stiff and irritating because of the plastic. If these shirts were sewn well like other brands, you wouldn't need any plastic in them in the first place. After this experience I checked other turtles in my drawer, and the other Kohl's brand, St John's Bay, also has this plastic in the shoulders, but it is narrower, thinner, and is sewn down at all the seam junctures, unlike the Croft & Barrow ones. I'm taking the shirt back to the store - we will see if they take it back or do anything at all. I certainly won't be wearing it again. Nor will I purchase any more of these at Kohl's. The ones I bought at Macy's have a double stitched shoulder seam so they don't need any plastic in them. They are much more comfortable. Thank you for the "no scratchy tag" back label, but NO thanks to plastic in the seams! This shirt was purchased at the Kohl's store in Independence, MO.

Kohl's credit

I have an average of 750 credit score and for some reason you sont want to give me credit. Qhen I called to question it got a foreigner on the phone and wouldnt help me cause I couldnt remember a phone number years ago. Gave him my social and I know you have my mothers maiden name but he would not give me nothing so you have forced me to Amazon, good luck in competing with them, thought I was being kind to shop at your store but I can see now that I wont spend a dime in your stores ever!

Kohl's crock pot

I purchased a Food Network Crock Pot several years ago from Kohl's Department Store and really enjoy using it. Last night after I made dinner in the crock pot, I washed the insert and I noticed a crack in the insert all the way through. I would like you to replace the insert (I believe it's a 7 quart oval insert) at the very least or replace the entire crock pot. I have attached pictures for your review.

If you are returning stuff to Kohl's, and they say they are going to give you a corporate refund, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! Literally just keep the item, it is NOT worth dealing with the corporate refund process. Kohl's customer service

We really enjoy shopping at Kohl's. Although, we won't be shopping at this particular Kohl's at University Village anymore. Tonight (9/24/17) my wife and I thought we'd use a coupon that expires tonight. At checkout the cashier was very rude, no greeting. Nothing. Everyone has bad days, we get it. However, I just purchased the new iPhone 8 for my wife yesterday. The cashier wanted to get a better look at the coupon on her phone so she handed him her phone. After which, instead of handing it back to her like she so politely handed it to him, he literally threw her new iPhone on the counter! There's a tiny hairline crack on the back of it now (protective phone case arrives tomorrow). No apologies even though it was pretty obvious the phone took a hit with the loud bang on the counter. It's a brand new $800 phone that has been damaged by one of your employees. We request damage compensation for the phone or store credit for the value of the phone.

Kohl's employment

I worked a seasonal job there last year and had a great review and told me to come back and reapply and hire me but new management and applied but didn't get hired back seasonally. If was good review why not get hired. Just seems fishy.. I understand all new people but don't you review things. So either lied last year or more behind scenes. I did a job joba nd loved it.

Kohl's skechers memory foam

I purchased my skechers at Kohls department store about two months ago, I bought two pair, one white and the other black, they are great shoes but, I'm very disappointed on the quality of the shoe this time as they started coming apart at the seams, I paid $60 a pair and have to buy me a new pair of shoes for my job, I have always work these and never had that problem, not very happy at this time 😕

Kohl's unethical behaviour

I was yesterday, 8/21/17, at the Kohl's store in Lincolnwood, Illinois around 8:45 PM with my daughter and after looking some of the merchandise we decided to leave but to our surprise, all the doors were closed. I asked a Kohl's employee at the jewelry glass case to please open the door for us. In a very rude way, she responded that she did not do that so I requested to talk to the manager who came after 5 minutes . She also stated that she could not open the doors because the mall closes at 9:00 PM.
I asked the manager why they did not announced through the intercom system that they closed the store as the Kohl's store in Northbrook, Illinois would do it.
In Northbrook, they notify the customers half hour before the closing time and after that, at intervals of 10 minutes so we our prepare to leave.
I explained to the manager that I had parked in the other side of the building and that I have to go through the mall to get to my car. The manager said to me to go up to the second floor because there was an exit to the mall there. We went upstairs but the door was closed too. I asked a Kohl's employee in the second floor to open the door for us but she refused and she said to me to go back to the first floor because the only door that was opened, was the one to the parking lot . This employee told me that once at the parking lot, I could walk around the mall until I find my car.
So, I went out with my daughter in the dark to find our car.

I still cannot believe the incivility and rudeness of the Kohl's employees and their manager at the Lincolnwood location.
We have encounter the above situation in other stores like Macy's or Nordstrom and they did not have any problem opening the doors for us.

Kohl's manager took a picture of my id and credit card

I watched her take a picture of my I'd and credit card after she already called the customer service number to verify it was legit. I spend thousands of dollars with you guys and when I confronted her and asked her to tell me why she believed she could do that what I did wrong ( this was after she already confirmed my info and put the transaction through mind you). She stood behind the partition took her phone out and took a picture! This is illegal beyond belief. Then on top of it when I confronted her and she said nothing was told she is calling the police that I'm trespassing. I'm beyond outraged with kohls and will be suing. This happened in manteca .ca. this has violated my privacy rights! How dare you. You will be hearing from my lawyer on Monday. I'm disgusted in this so called company I used to shop at. Your a violation to my human rights and now I have to issue fraud alerts and cancel all my cards. I'll see you in court.

Kohl's customer service — so called "hassle-free" returns policy

Anchorage- Before my wife was diagnosed with a stage 4 terminal and aggressive rare cancer she made purchase of $126.03 per our Visa card statement for sundry socks and underwear items at the local Kohl's store. We left the state for clinical trial testing experimental cancer treatment, and she never removed items from the original Kohl's bag. Upon my return to state after her death, I found the bag with all tagged and unused items. No receipt in bag, but I found charge in the amount of credit card purchase.

Kohl's advertises itself as "hassle-free" for returns, but it is the ONLY department or online outfit that was a hassle. They refused to consider my circumstances and credit card statement and were unmoved by my explanation that only my wife knew where the receipt was, and I have never successfully mastered the art of communicating with the dead.

I returned over $2, 500 worth of wife-purchased items to Macy's, Nordstrom, Bed Bath & Beyond, Land's End, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Swimsuits for All and others I can't recall. Every single one accepted returns for full refunds without hassle, and none of them refer to themselves as "hassle-free".

I did receive a reply from Marquita ** at Kohl's including this line: "I have requested that a member from the store's Executive Team respond to you within five business days regarding your experience." That was on June 9th, 2017. Still have not heard back almost a month later.

Moral of story: When a company has to state something everyone assumes goes without saying whether it be about its "hassle-free" return policy or its "fair and balanced" news, expect the opposite is true.

Kohl's food network 40 stoneware dinnerware set

I purchased two 40 piece Food Network Stoneware Dinnerware Sets as a house warming gift for my daughter. The dishes were packed very tightly. At dinner we noticed the plates all didn't match, different shades of white & the lines on the plates were uneven. I took a photo of how the plates stack unevenly in her cabinet. I was shocked that the Food Network would let a product leave their factory in this condition. The ridge on the bottom of some plates are chip too. Hoping you will replace the 2 with perfect white sets.
